  1. The only positive I can take out of tonight is that I'm spared the need to attend any further games this season. An utterly dismal season from start to finish. I've not seen one decent performance this season and feel massively disillusioned by the whole ICT experience. I've dedicated a ridiculous amount of time, money and energy following the club over the years but unless there are some major changes this summer I seriously need to consider whether I can justify dragging myself and ymip jr around the country watching a product which has been mind numbingly appalling this season. From my perspective the club has little or no direction and has fundamentally lost the spirit that set us apart and drove us through the divisions. I've felt next to no affinity with the guys out on the park this season who largely seem to be mercenaries with no sense of what the club means to us and the struggle we've had to get to where we are. Not sure another raft of jobbing trialists is going to address this problem. I don't think I'm alone in feeling disenchanted with the way the club is headed and unless something is done about it as a matter of urgency then I fear we're facing a very bleak future.

  2. I did say that Terry took over in January, that’s a fact. Any reader would have questioned who was in charge prior to him and could have seen the line above. Given season tickets are sold PRIOR to the start of the season and it was clearly stated that Terry took over in January, I’m not sure how that constitutes figures for the season getting "chalked up against Butcher". It is not a witch hunt - did you miss the part about crediting him with our highest finish in the league? It’s pretty petty to pick up on that to be honest. It was an honest question following an observation on statistics and I didn’t expect to be attacked on it. It’s a shame when someone can’t express an opinion on a forum without being targeted as having an ulterior motive. The manager is one of a great many variables which affects attendances; it was purely a question of what is wrong and what we can do right as a club on the whole.

  3. There'll be none of that next season when your beloved Jail end gets the SPL treatment.

  4. IIRC he was the same guy who said something along the lines of 'Meekings has done more in 5 minutes than Munro in his whole career' so TBH I wouldn't pay much heed to anything he says. Utter WUM/Troll.

  5. Have you been to mcdirmid park? 4th in the league and they still struggle to get 3000 through the door. If we had something to chant about we would. if you had been at Aberdeen last month, or even st Johnstone a couple weeks ago you wouldn't be sayin this. You can't base your judgements on a handful of games. I'm guessing the ones you attended we lost. But caley away the atmosphere is almost always good

  6. It will all probably come down to money. I would rather we spent more money on a smaller number of quality, experienced signings than sign another large number of younger players. At 26 and 27 Clarkson and Diamond are entering the peak of their careers and will need to impress if they have aspirations to do well in their own careers. Like Libero said we have rejuvenated so many careers in the past and there is no reason why we can't do the same with players like that.

  7. Could it be that if crowds varying in numbers from 200 to 3000 make you feel sick your actually suffering from agoraphobia?

  8. Really hope that Tokely is still here next season. The only player who will really fight for the team in derby games.

  9. It was great seeing him back tonight. I was critical of him earlier this season but I have been proved wrong. He showed some neat touches tonight and made some good runs with and without the ball. I would say he was our MotM despite only playing about 20 minutes.

  10. I'm not going to be negative. I am going to list only positive things from tonight: Andrew Shinnie showed more creativity in his cameo appearance than the entire ICT midfield has done all season. The minutes silence was impeccably observed. It was a nice night. There we go.

  11. Andrew Shinnie could be our best new "signing" for next season - please lets not endanger that.

  12. Me and my mate went to a friendly against Deveronvale the Monday before we beat Celtic in 2003. We were the only fans there so that means we are the biggest fans, no-one can contradict us.

  13. I hate all this Poznan nonsense. Utterly cringeworthy. Same as 'Ultras' groups in Scotland, absolutely awful. The best atmosphere I've seen at a Caley game recently was the game where we beat Dunfermline before we were promoted and it came through that Dundee were losing and as things stood we were promoted. You really cannot beat that for creating atmosphere at a game. The Queens game just before that was brilliant as well, we probably only had 200-300 fans at it but it was great, real togetherness between the team and support.

  14. Not sure if it was this thread that is being referenced, remarks on Twitter or just remarks in general, but the club received the following email and have asked us to post it on their behalf ... I think this is the appropriate thread to do so.

  15. So you're embarrased by our support but not by your posts on this thread?

  17. Not enough wins, too many defeats. Watching your team win is more appealing than watching them lose, and this is our worst season ever in terms of results. General decline in football attendances due to drop in disposable incomes and increased travel costs. Visiting fan numbers will be down too. Lack of quality football and entertainment at TCS. I would ordinarily expect next season's season ticket sales and average crowd to drop significantly due to our recent poor form, but the attraction of derbies will limit the damage (assuming we stay up).

  18. Whenever County sign a decent player, and they will no doubt get a few over the coming months, are we going to be angry that ICT didn't sign them? Lets get over it, now!

  19. Interesting looking at attendance figures (sorry you have to click on the link) The following are approximate average attendance figures for league home games up until the last three games of the season (so we can make this season relevant up until now). Cup games are not included although there is likely to be an of-shoot into league attendances based on a cup run. 06/07 - 4600 - Charlies season (Finished 8th) 07/08 - 4900 - Brewster era (Finished 9th) 08/09 - 4300 - Terry takes over in January (Relegated) 09/10 - 3400 - 1st division 10/11 - 4600 - Promoted (Finished 7th, best place finish) 11/12 - 4050 - This season This is not a witch hunt people, purely a discussion about why our attendance at home this season has been so poor. It seems strange that following promotion and our best place finish for the attendance to be almost 1000 down on average compared to 07/08. This could be down to the honeymoon period?? Perhaps its as simple as not playing as good a standard of football as we used to this season, team appeal and club profile also must play a massive part. We, as a business, need to ensure bums on seats is the criteria for betterment of the club. We need to ask ourselves why we are 850 seats a game down on average for essentially the same league position in a previous season. Discuss. Season 06-12.bmp

  21. We are where we are, not everyone is in agreement as to how it happened, whether or not it should have happened and if it was avoidable...but right now, that matters not. The points on the board are fixed, they are in the past, we can do nothing about them and every moment spent pondering over them is a moment less spent on getting us over the final hurdle and getting the one point we need to secure SPL status for next season. It's a big ask, and it will be beyond some, but can we set aside all the other stuff and just get behind ICT until that objective is achieved? I'm not asking anyone to support a manager, player, board member or anyone else they may have an issue with....I'm asking that everyone show support for the one thing that binds us all....Inverness Caledonain Thistle FC. If you are able, then get along to the game on Wednesday night. I know some people are at the stage of not wishing to part with any more money and/or effort to watch the team this season, but if the fans aren't willing to step up to the plate when it's needed to do everything in their power to help and support ICT then who is? If you aren't willing, then I ask that choose not to beat up on those who are just because they choose to be a little more positive, objective or supportive. If you want to brand such people as happy clappers, wearers of rose tinted specs, delusional or whatever....then can you please save it until the job is done (or not done and you can gloat and come back with all the "told you so's" you like). If any of the players happen to be reading this, then I make the same plea to you. Forget everything up until now and put every moment of thought and preparation into giving Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC your best game when you take to the park against Dunfermline, and if it doesn't happen against Dunfermline then take it to St Mirren and if needs be on against Hibs. ICT's biggest strength has always been that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. Let us not be divided, let us not be conquered.

  22. We need to sign a defence. I'm not sure if age is catching up with Tokely or it's whose around him thats a problem but he's not looked his best this season by a long shot. No point whining about losin Munro. It was a mistake in my opinion on Butchers part and we're seeing the evidence I think this season. We will have Hogg again which is a plus. And hopefully forge a regular back 4. But we need to look at another centre half and another full back. Still undecided on Gillet of late. Having And Shinnie back would be nice also. Good to see Doran back.

  31. Very sad indeed and a few tears were shed at Rugby Park. The football as entertaining as it was just faded into the background as this traumatic event unfolded less than three yards from us. One of our own fans went over to help him to his feet but it was obvious from there on that the medics were fighting a losing battle. I have to say that the doctor was onto it in a flash and tried his best to revive the fan but to no avail. Great effort by the team to try to revive him, they were doing their utmost for half an hour or so. Well done to the Inverness fans for raising the incident as quick as possible, unfortunately no amount of aid was able to reverse the process. Saddest event I have ever witnessed at a football match. RIP John.
