  1. Now I appreciate this is entitled in a style normally only seen on dodgy emails for ***** enlargement or Nigerian princes offering a billion pounds but I have a foolproof way to get more punters through the gate. Sign a Polish player, he doesn't need to be very good or even feature that much but the polish community in Inverness is huge and would flock to watch one of their own playing. The polish Sunday league team in Inverness take 30 fans to all their games that's a fifth of our attendance today. Having come up with such genius I shall now sit back and await my OBE for services to football.

  2. What a crock of sh1t. Booing is a concious reaction to someone or something that you do not like, it's not some kind of deep emotional reaction. Have you ever boo'd a child or loved one because they did something to disappoint you? Thought not. If you have no emotional attachment to your team and view them as nothing more than a group of people who you have paid to entertain you...then I guess booing would seem acceptable.

  3. Disappointing, and the first game in the recent unfortunate run where I would say we got what we deserved. Wouldn't argue with too many of the observations made by people who were at the game today, but it does grate when individuals seem to get some kind of perverse pleasure from seeing the team do poorly so they can get on their high horse. As for the assertions that the "Togetherness" is lost....not for me. I don't give up that easy on my team and I don't believe our team has given up on us. Thankfully the mindset that the team only deserve our support and backing when things are going well only seems to exist among a minority of fans.

  4. Bit of an OG tbh. If Eden court had a very passionate Manager who wanted to make it run as well as he could and was disappointed that it wasnt always full, I dont think telling the public that they dont deserve to have a theater in Inverness would be the answer but I would have to have access to the whole conversation as it may just be taken out of context to make a better story. The ironic thing is, considering it was an absolutely miserable wet and windy night with hardly any away fans I thought the attendance wasnt that bad. Kenny who manages another of the smaller SPL clubs summed it up pretty well. Its a bit of a storm in a tea cup or perhaps more of a storm in a stadium.

  5. Conor has been electric every time he has come on. Who can forget the last kick of the ball against Hearts to draw the game?! Or his goal against Hibs?! Every time he came on in the first half of the season he was fantastic. But the management don‘t pick one of our best players any more. This begs the obvious question. Why?

  6. To boo or not to boo that is the question: Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous football Or to take arms against a sea of defeats. Or as Brian once said: When you are feeling in the dumps Don't be silly chumps Just purse your lips and whistle 'Always look on the bright side of life' 'Always look on the light side of life' ....cue the titles Now there's a tune for the next home game ;-)

  7. Our most worrying performance to date, yet for a while it seemed to promise a lot. I thought the first half hour was the best we have played against Motherwell this season, and in fact among the best football we have played in any game, but as has been the case in a lot of recent games, we just seemed a little too tentative around the box - a few too many touches taken, or players looking reluctant to go in where it hurts. As soon as Motherwell scored, though, it seemed you could see the fear creeping into the players and the midfield ceded more control of the ball, although we still competed fairly well until half time. There was a rather bemusing tactical switch at the start of the second half, with Draper moved to wide right: if there needed to be any sort of change, it was upfront rather than across the middle, imo, and the players didn't look comfortable with it at all. We had one very promising move early on which ended with Ross scooping his shot just over, and had that gone in then perhaps we might have seen a very different second half, but as soon as the second Motherwell goal went in the heads just went down completely. Any remaining fluency went out of our play when we did have the ball - the players looked as if they couldn't wait to get rid of it - and we were bullied off it far too easily. This is one of the reasons why the introduction of Roberts to the game was so baffling - whatever qualities he does have, strength on the ball isn't one of them, and he looked very lightweight. In the end, we were probably lucky it wasn't more than three. In contrast to the previous games against Motherwell, where they just looked to have our number from the start, we actually looked like we could match up to them quite successfully for most of the first half, but in the second we made it far, far too easy for them. I don't really buy Butcher's 'fatigued' argument - or if that really is the case, then it's even more alarming, as we've not played any more games than any of our rivals. Rather, it looked like confidence, finally, had just deserted the whole team rather than just affecting the forward players. I do admire Butcher for persisting with the commitment to an attractive passing game - he said it would come good after our slow start to the season and was proved correct, so maybe he sees no reason why it shouldn't come good again - but after yesterday's performance, and if he does really believe what he says about the players being tired, then maybe now is the time to change it, particularly as we face Hearts, a team that has already proven it can outmuscle us, next. If Foran is fit, I'd be inclined to play him (hopefully just as a short-term fix) as a striker to try to add greater power and nuisance value in the box; maybe also give Shane Sutherland more game time too, as he is pretty tenacious in possession although not as skilful as some of our more regular starters. In the past Butcher has proven that one of his strengths as a manager is the courage to make changes when something isn't working, and while the regular line-up has served him incredibly well this season, I don't think it would be a knee-jerk reaction, after a series of quite toothless performances, to rest two or three players and try something slightly different now.

  8. Thought he was more of an attacking mid than an out and out striker. I would still have McKay in there though. Let someone prove themselves from the subs bench before ditching our goalscorer.

  11. Great view Fraser. Unfortunately my view right now is a very smug staggy4life cashing in on a bet about Countys relegation.

  13. No excuses, that was a load of rubbish. Half of them seem to have lost the ability to pass the ball and look perplexed as to how to get it back. In saying, ICT started fairly well and had some good chances. The system and set-up that ICT had was working alright, we just hadn't had the luck up till that point. Then Butcher's decides to change things and that was the biggest downfall of all. Up until half time, Doran and Ross had been playing quite well on the their respective wings, with Jones and Draper marshalling the middle. This all becomes undone for the second half when Ross is moved from wide left into next to Jones, with Doran moved to the left wing and Draper moving onto the right. Really, I mean really?! ( - my exact face!) The substitutions were a funny animal as well. When I saw Sutherland coming on in the place of McKay (a player who hadn't been in the game much at all), I thought that maybe Butcher had seen sense and we'd finally see Sutherland playing his true position, as an out and out striker. These hopes were quickly dashed when Philip Roberts started walking on behind him! (Roberts did nothing by the way, and seems to have started a new tactic of falling over when the ball has moved just out of reach!). The only sub I would have wanted to see was Andrew Shinnie being hooked for Pepper (who seems to have disappeared for some reason). People can point to the fact that Andrew Shinnie had a goal disallowed and that there may have a handball in the lead up to Motherwell's second goal, as well as our penalty claim shortly after, but theses are no excuses. We were rubbish and it could have been more. All in all, a disappointing afternoon.

  14. Caley100 I also think this, as much as I like Esson it is 5 games played, 4 games lost. Bad statistics!

  17. DD I agree with all you say on this. I can't see TB reacting like that to plain criticism so I'm assuming it was abusive and if it was the club should look at it. People booing our own players is just embarassing for the rest of us and it's not "just lads being silly" if its picked up by the media and used to make us look bad. Sad to see us once again on TV for the wrong reasons. TB was aked the question and gave his view right or wrong, as he's entitled to. Then BBC Scotland wandered into the town and asked the first three folk they found about club attendances....another highly professional disection of the biggest problem in the Scottish game - not. Outside the OF every club ground has acres of empty seats, it's just the way it is now. We go to TCS while back in town they sit in the pubs in their OF tops watching Man Utd cuff Fulham or some other Premier League no hoper. I wish I knew the answer to it.

  20. Gary Warren for me. Whilst the defence has conceded a lot of goals I have been impressed with Warren who has looked solid for pretty much all the games I have seen him play and also weighed in with some goals as well. Who can forget his incredible header against Dundee United that put us 4 - 3 up after being 3 - 0 down. What a guy!
