Fabulous result. Providing Celtic don't sacrifice the games against County and St J, then we could clinch the 3rd spot next week. That will be a massive game for us as we really don't want to go to Dingwall last game of the season needing a win.5 points

We just do not lie down. At 3-0 we were in dreamland, at 3-3 with a penalty miss on our stats we were in hell but we got what we ultimately deserved which was 3 points and thats us now got the 3rd place very much in our own hands. Motherwell are clinical and did well to get level but Ojamaa deserved to go and with that the boys saw the chance to get our lead back A crazy afternoon and as big Tel has said a great advert for scottish football. Thought our boys were top notch today, especially Hogg. 16 months with no gametime and to come back like that i think pays tribute to his character and all those who have helped him on his journey back to fitness. Will be gutted when we lose Shinnie and Reguero too, both were key players in securing the 3 points today, they will need to be well replaced. We have had many memorable moments throughout the campaign but this one will stick with me for a while, especially if this is the match that does it for us. Its moments like this that have typified our season so far. Well done lads.4 points

As the games hot up and the European chase and RC game looms closer, James Manson's story made me a bit more philosophical this weekend. The West Highland Free Press http://www.whfp.com/2013/05/03/determined-james-vows-to-go-the-extra-mile/ story might not be picked up by all in Sneck, but it seems his choice of attire might be of interest...2 points

That second half was the most nerve straining 45 minutes of football I have endured since the game against Falkirk that ultimately led to our relegation three years ago but, thankfully, with a more pleasing outcome. The game as a whole was a microcosm of our season, firstly, we seemed to have our European destiny well under our own control, then in the balance, then we appear to have thrown it away before finally pulling it out of the fire although, in my view the sending off was a game changer. Until that point there was only going to be one winner and it wasn't us but after the harsh sending off at Perth last week perhaps we deserved a bit of luck. Don't think the result at Tannadice was entirely negative from our point of view as it now leaves the Arabs arithmetic out of the equation with nothing to play for. The same effort and application as the boys showed today next week will leave us in a great position and, depending on results elsewhere, possibly qualified.2 points

We don't need to rely on anyone else to do anything in particular .... if we do our job, then everything else is irrelevant. Other teams need US to slip up !2 points

Yes, a win today against 'Well would certainly take a bit of pressure off the final 2 games. I, for one, would not like to go to Dingwall having to win to have any chance of Europe, and maybe also relying on others losing. So good luck to the lads today. I'm going to be stuck in the car most of the afternoon trudging over to Essex, round the M25, for a family do. Probably won't get MFR in the car either.2 points

What a brilliant result, and fantastic for McKay getting his hat-trick, sounds like a great, if topsy turvy game to watch....what with Palace winning their first match in ten games to cement their play-off place I'm in a very happy place tonight. I just hope both my teams can reach their respective targets. I notice Hogg in the team, that must be his first start since his injury, how did he play?1 point

Wonderful to see the lads back scoring again, glad too that Billy scored after his penalty miss, don't think he will miss his next one, lesson learned there. tm4tj glad to see you are feeling better lol keep it up positivity is creeping in! Motherwell will be smarting now so I expect they will give their next opponents hell, that too is in our favour. looking forward to the highlights now.1 point

Possibly the result of the season we really should have had it sewn up when 3-0 up but to get the winner all be it against ten men shows we have some bottle Wee bit disappointed that Utd couldn't have taken at least a point from St Johnstone but it's still very much in our hands Looks like the game in Dingwall will be judgement day it's going to be some end to the season Dougal1 point

we played very well and could have been more than 3 up. about 5 mins before motherwell scored we started to get ragged. could not keep ball etc game changed for me when meekings meet i think hammil in a 50/50. i was in the north stand and i could hear the thud of both players meeting the ball at the same time. looked like a good old fashioned tackle by both and the ball went out for a throw in to us. referee collulm gave a free kick to motherwell which had butcher raging on the side line. only thing i can think of was that meeking had both feet off the ground. would like to see it again on sunday night. from the free kick motherwell retained possesion and scored. at half time thought next goal was crucial. motherwell got it and it was game on. they were now playing like us in first half and could have scored more than the 3 they got. billy's pen was the chance to kill the game at 4-2 but i dont think he missed, randolph is by far the best keeper in the spl and it was a super save. could only see motherwell winning when it went to 3-3 , but ojamma sent off was the luck we needed and we got another chance to win the game which billy took. motherwell did not look like they had only 10 players as they created chances. looking back a great game (but not during the game when you are holding on for the win.) we were superb first 30 mins, and motherwell showed why they are 2nd behind cellic.1 point

Gotta watch where you take stuff from on the SPL site. They have euro qualification info from at least 4 different seasons depending on where you look ... the link below was posted 12 days ago. http://www.scotprem.com/content/default.asp?page=s2&newsid=12257 Celtic will take their place in the second qualifying round of the Champions League in mid-July after securing the Clydesdale Bank Premier League title on Sunday. The SPL runners-up and third-place finishers enter the Europa League in qualifying round two, with the Scottish Cup place going to Hibernian, regardless of the result in the final. If Hibs win the cup they go into Europa League qualifying round three. If they lose to Celtic they will enter in the previous round, with the SPL runners-up coming in at QR3 instead. SPL winners Champions League Qualifying Round 2 - July 16/17 & 23/23 Runners-up Europa League Qualifying Round 2 - July 18 & 25 Third place Europa League Qualifying Round 2 - July 18 & 25 Scottish Cup winners Europa League Qualifying Round 3 - August 1 & 81 point

The way i understand it....If Celtic win the SC, then ICT would qualify IF they finnish 4th then they enter in Qualifying Round 3 and Hibs Would enter in QR2. I think you understand wrong .... 1st goes into CL 3 teams qualify for Europa .... various scenarios, but in them all Hibs will go in along with SPL's 2nd and 3rd placed teams.1 point

I suppose that Cllr Smith is looking after the interests of her constituents in Ross-shire, which is what she is paid to do. The arguments are a bit off though. Someone is eventually going to have to stop demonising football fans of all colours and realise that we have moved on from the neaderthal days of the seventies and early eighties. The problem then was as much to do with a nations disintergating social fabric as it was with supporting a football team. Of course events like those in Glasgow this week don't help, but Dingwall isn't no mean City and the kick off times are liable to deter all but the most hardy of attendees (for the Celtic game anyway) Given those times, they are hardly likely to have had the opportunity to get tanked up before travelling and its illegal on buses and, as far as I am aware there are no congregations between the car park at the ground and the turnstiles although granted there is a Church in plain sight of the Mallard. There's nothing in between. But it's OK for people to go from that same car park to Hospitality and get served there? So much for Cllr Smith's arguments about not taking business needs into account - just some businesses that an Invergordon Councillor wouldn't want to upset. People aren't going to these games by other means and so need to mix with the "god fearing" public because there's no public transport to speak of that would drop them anywhere but at the ground. I am perplexed by her comments about people being turned away from the ground that concern her, although she maintains that she's not saying people would be drunk before the game. In a fixture (ICT v RC) that has a history of no violence, no antipathy, no mass ejections (we have the figures, just not to hand - I'll post them later) her concerns are pretty badly thought out, because let's face it drunkenness is about the only thing you are going to get turned away for. Perhaps the most galling point of her determination is the inference that fans of either side, who have been held up as examples of how well behaved derbies can be all year are somehow not fit to mix with the general population. Actually, Maxine they are the general population. Smee is right about people in power who are more reactionary than those they represent. Lobby and challenge them. Make them justify their wooly thinking and if they can't then vote them out. That works.1 point

Whilst we should already have secured our place in Europe, I do think that people are right to be angry at Lennon. It is, of course, perfectly legitimate to rest players and rotate things a bit so that you can field your best team for key matches and have them properly fit for the game whilst giving fringe players an opportunity. But there is still an obligation to field a side that is competitive as failing to do so gives an unfair advantage to other clubs. One might normally expect Celtic to win certain matches and if Lennon is publicly stating he is sacrificing games then that is not acceptable as that may well distort league positions thereby making a serious financial impact on those clubs disadvantaged. If Celtic are sacrificing matches then the fairest thing would be for the SPL to even things up by taking sanctions against Celtic and awarding all their post split games to their opponents and giving them a fine proportionate to the potential financial consequences to smaller clubs of their actions. Lennon himself should be charged with bringing the game into disrepute.1 point

Three cup finals ahead. We were in the box seat but are now in danger of blowing it. Makeshift back four or not we need to show full commitment for the final three matches. Having taken no points from our first two post split fixtures we need at least seven from the final three. That commitment doesn't just need to from from the players but from the "twelfth man" in the stands especially as two of the games are at home and the third on our doorstep.1 point
