  1. I am coming from Brisbane, Australia for this one. Costs a fortune but is worth it for our first major final. I was all set to come to the final last year but we fell at the "final" hurdle. Not been to a match (other than a pre-season friendly v Clach a couple of years ago) since the match v Dundee when we were presented the first division trophy as we bounced straight back up. Came over specially for that one too. Hoping for an equally as successful outcome this time.
  2. Some may see me as a Glory hunter if you like but I have done my fair share of trips to Ayr Utd, Livingston etc over the years when I lived in Scotland. I remember being at the Albion Rovers (dump of a stadium) match on the day the twin towers were hit in New York. That one always sticks in my mind. Obviously living in Oz now its a wee bit harder to get to the games but I have tried to coincide trips back with matches. We will never ever be in our first major final again and its something I don't want to look back on and say I wish I had been there. I am thinking I will also get in the rescheduled Motherwell game on the Wednesday after the cup final too which is a bonus
  3. You should make yourself known to the club and the media, it's a great story that will interest and impress the wider public.
  4. I actually despise music after goals! To me it's a gimmicky annoyance. When did this creep into the game?! We managed fine in the 'old days' without it. The roar of the crowd or the stunned silence does for me. I think Archie Gemmill's wonder goal in the World Cup would have been tarnished with a sudden rendition of "just can't get enough"! (ok, it hadn't been written then, but you get my point!)
  5. I am just enjoying my third viewing of the DVD and, is it me, or has anyone else commented on the fact that congratulatory music was played when Jamie Hamill scored his two goals but no music was played when ICT scored their two goals?! "Edinburgh bias" or what, or who is to blame? I didn't notice during the game, due to all the singing and dancing etc but on watching the DVD it is quite obvious, especially after such a korker of a goal from Greg Tansey. I do hope this is sorted before the Final - when ICT score we want to hear MUSIC as well as singing and shouting and whatever.

What have the kids done to deserve this? Think of the children. Won't somebody please think of the children!
  7. How about a union jack, with, just to increase the amount of red you understand, a big red hand in the middle, to signify the helping hand us fans give the players. We also need a catchy slogan - after Sunday's never say die performance, might I suggest 'No Surrender' because we don't give up?
  8. Then it's back to the pub... :ictscarf: That's all I have to say about that.
  9. Not to mention the ones from a different planet!
  10. Misher23 you are a true legend! I agree, there should be publicity around your monumental effort!
  11. Back to bed Kingsmills - you know what he means - those days should be long gone by now!

It's confusing to say the least. The tie was Hearts v ICT, suggesting that Hearts were the 'home' team. We had the Famous 5 stand, while Hearts had the other two home stands. Hearts wore their away kit, we wore our home kit. However, the only stat that actually matters is that we won 4-2 on penalties!

Harsh. Had a quick look, and there is more reasoned argument than I'd expect over there. Also at least 1 poster thought that Robinson's challenge was worse.

Simply, he works in a position that is deemed public. His views are in the public eye. His (alleged) views are illegal. This is in most cases a reason to be arrested. Which in turn, in most contracts, in most job - public profile or not, particularly if it could bring his employers into a position of disrepute, is gross misconduct. This usually results in employment termination. It has nothing to do with him being a footballer and therefore not having a right to offend, Many non famous, non footballers have been charged for similar insults. It's deemed discriminatory. Most discrimination is deemed illegal. That's not a bad thing.

Alas if you have a job that is in the public eye, it makes you a public figure and therefore you have to be careful about any comments attributed to you or that you make, The lad is a wally and subject to the clubs investigation, if found guilty, should have his contract terminated. If the police want to investigate then they should and if necessary take action.

Wouldn't you just love to open up on them match officials?
  18. Charlie giz a wave, Charlie Charlie giz a wave.... waaaaaaay!
  19. Some great memories listed by all but for me the most memorable moment in ICT history has to be; after months of wrangling, watching a new team; Caledonian Thistle walking out of the tunnel at Telford Street on Aug 13th 1994 to play Arbroath in our first competitive league match and the subsequent 5-2 home win. I was in the Howden end and standing a few feet away were 2 or 3 obvious Thistle fans who quietly booed under their breathe so not to get abuse. Having never stood on this stand before they were clearly nervous as the game went on, but you could feel a change in them as we took Arbroath apart and the ball started to hit the back of the net. By the end they were pretty much cheering the team on. They Believed!
  20. Agree - Yogi deserves a lot of credit for his calls and tactics. I wasn't sure about his appointment at the time, but his performance on Sunday - and the post-match interview - was spot-on.
  21. So the ref's like... The jambo's are all... And we're like... Then up steps Nick Ross...
  22. Have to disagree, there is no doubt we have a very loyal core of fans especially those hardy souls who go home and away. However, there is no doubt that given the population of our catchment area and success as a club the numbers who attend the TCS is a disappointment and it was perfectly proper of CC to say so.
  23. You only know 7000, stop exaggerating....

The rules have changed from last season on cards/suspensions. A straight red card in the league cup is an instant 2 match suspension. First suspension is to be served in the clubs next match, irrespective of which competition (Stranraer game in this instance). And the second suspension is to be served in the league cup itself. Reports that Josh is already on a yellow from a previous League Cup match are inaccurate (he has one in the Scottish Cup), so if the appeal (which will go ahead) is successful and the red card is rescinded or downgraded to a yellow then he will be available for the final. If not, then he misses it. Having spent a large part of the day pouring over the rule book and looking at video, I am of the personal opinion that there's nothing in the challenge to constitute Serious Foul Play or Violent Conduct....both of which are clearly defined as including excessive force or brutality. At worst, what he did would fall within the confines of "Committing a technical foul designed to impede a promising attack" and FIFA Guidelines clearly state that is a yellow card offence unless it denies a goal or clear goal scoring opportunity....which it couldn't have since it was over 70 yards from our goal and we had 4 players between there and the incident. If the SFA follow the rulebook and associated guidelines, then I fail to see how they can uphold the red card....but again, that is just my personal opinion. Warren was already on a yellow card from the D.Utd match, so a single yellow saw him suspended for the final. Even if the club were to try and appeal the yellows (and it is possible in certain circumstances) then it's very unlikely they would get both rescinded so the second yellow (in hindsight and given the outcome of the game) means little.
  25. Fer fecks sake we will NOT need penalties.
