  1. Seriously? We get new sponsor - news. We put in hands-off warning - news. We announce new shirts ready - news. That is 1st rate marketing - by using drip drip method, we keep the momentum bubbling along rather than one flash-in-the-pan-soon-forgotten extravaganza. If someone is contemplating buying a shirt it isn't because it has a sponsor name on it, it is because it has the club name on it. So they will buy it when it comes out. It is not ready yet. They will tell us when it is. They do not need to explain why it is not ready yet or what is happening before it is. You must be a joy at Christmas-time.
  2. Miami and a Jägerbomb drinking contest with Aaron Doran.
  3. The BBC plan to show the Uruquay game live so hopefully we will see Billy on the telly scoring his first goal for his country.
  4. They launched the sponsor not the shirt! I think any sponsor would want their day in the press and wouldn't want overshadowed by talk of the new strip?
  5. It will be available to buy as soon as possible....do you think the club are sitting with thousands of shirts at the stadium and not selling them just for shits and giggles? I saw some of the players building a fort with the new shirts. An absolute disgrace!

Hope that's not your wifes leg
  7. Had it not been for the new sponsor then I suspect we'd probably already have had them (or they would be imminent). I don't know this 100%, but I believe that the sponsor is printed along with the shirt design as a single process as opposed to being stuck on afterwards which would mean that shirts could not be done in advance. In regards to being outdone by other clubs....only really a valid argument if we were competing with each other for business, but I don't imagine too many ICT fans have decided to buy a St Mirren or Motherwell top just because they launched before ours. It's understandable that the people are anxious to see/buy the new strip and seeing other clubs release theirs adds to the frustration in regards to "if they can do it, why can't we", but it's been that way for as long as we've been with Errea (15th season coming up?) and you have to imagine that the clubs deal with them means the benefits must outweigh the wait or we'd have changed supplier long time ago. Some previous kit launch dates (as close as I can ascertain) have been as follows....note these are launch dates and not on sale dates, although they may have been the same. 13/14 (Away) - 10th June 12/13 (Home) - 17th July 11/12 (Away) - 24th June 10/11 (Home) - 1st August (first year with Orion) 09/10 (Away) - 14th July 08/09 (Home) - 17th June 07/08 (Away) - 4th July (first year with Flybe) ......we're still in May!

Wasn't such a good result for the Utd fan guilty of premature celebration.
  9. My point exactly. What they charge in Germany or Spain or Italy or Estonia is of passing interest but cannot be used as a measure to our prices. I believe our prices to be fair value. The only comparison we can and should make is with others in the same league we are in. Beyond that it is meaningless.
  10. It will be available to buy as soon as possible....do you think the club are sitting with thousands of shirts at the stadium and not selling them just for shits and giggles? Typical reply from you CaleyD - It would be pretty stupid if they were sitting with thousands of shirts and not selling them but it wouldn't surprise me for one minute!

Ian was indeed a good man and a large backer of the club. On a more personal note both Ian and his family have been very professional and supportive during difficult family circumstances. A gent.
  13. Enganche, it means the hook. Basically the number 10 for all the old school mob. Playmaker, etc Or as most ICT fans would put it, the Andy Shinnie role. Tequartista is type of shadow striker, essentially like Del Piero. Neither term I learned from Football Manager, both, and others like Libero etc, were learned through watching continental football, and discussing the game with people outwith the UK, some being coaches. Maybe we could play him as a false 9...... It's not surprising armchair kids are turning to Football manager, the standard of football from those pixelated dots moving around, is far in excess of many a current SPFL game. And it costs considerably less. Perhaps when Scottish football brings its prices into line with the rest of Europe, and more in line with the standard on offer, fans might return. For years it's tried to kid on it's some kind of EPL diet version when in reality it's not even English league 1. And I think most people have better things to do now on a Saturday than fork out those sums for sub par entertainment. Why would people pay to watch a pub band at Rolling Stones prices?

Maimie - are you immediately drawn to the death and obituaries column when you pick up the P&J ? We seem to have lost a few worthies this season.

I was very sad to hear of Ian's passing. Maimie was so right in what she says and without his substantial investment in the early life of this club it just would not be here today. The internal politics during the "takeover" really upset Ian and he eventually withdrew his support of the club. Ian loved the idea of a unified football club in Inverness and he put his money where his mouth was. He was a solid supporter in the early years but latterly favoured Ross County, where, in his own words, "he felt wanted". A good man. Thanks for everything you did for us Ian.

First Gary Warren - who's next?
  17. Wow. Sign me up now!
  18. Wow those two are cracking! I'm sure they'll sell out at the Woolies in Dingwall in no time!

Don't you people know that Ross County are the biggest club in the world and have loads of fans, especially in Inverness and everyone in Inverness hates ICT, even the ones that go to games and had the two clubs not merged, Caley and Thistle would have been the biggest clubs ever and have really big supports, because afterall, the Caley and Thistle got 100,000 at every game?! 20. That top kit is fantastic. If that's what comes out I will be picking one up for sure.
  21. In light of revealing our new sponsor, a couple of kits I wouldn't mind seeing being made our own. Stupidly simple and in distant hope that Subway were to use their logo minus the slogan, I'de be more than happy with either home kit. Based on current season templates though and assuming we're remaining with Errea.

I'll be renewing my shortly. Regardless of my opinions of Hughes I can't imagine being anywhere else on a Saturday afternoon. Or Saturday lunchtime. Or Saturday evening. Or Sunday lunchtime. Or Friday night. Or Tuesday night. Or Wednesday night.

will be getting mine this week as yet again another season of highs and lows still doesn't dent my enthusiasm and still believe we can have another history making season next season again . and keep our wee club next door below us again

I support the team so buying a season ticket makes sense regardless of who is in charge or how we are playing. Other than for financial reasons I don't see why anyone would just give up on going along and supporting the team.
