  1. McDonald in for Polly for Friday night
  2. I thought we were the better team throughout, and united seemed to lack ideas of how to break us down. That's the second time Nick Walsh has spoiled a game for us, he sent Trafford off against county and now polworth, it was never a red. The standard and inconsistency of the officials in this country is shocking. I hope it's a different ref on friday or we may be F**ked.
  3. Definitely a foul for us in the box though that yet again the idiot of a referee didn't get right. In addition, the number of times White was clearly fouled but got nothing was really poor refereeing. Something really has to be done about the standard of refereeing as the ref on Saturday was equally as poor.

Another indication on tonights preview twitter feed, of the talent on its way up through our system with the news about Milton of Leys winning the scottish schools title in glasgow. A huge achievement from any school up here against the best of the central belt primaries (with plenty of old firm academy kids in). At least four of this team are in the ICT system, highlighting the importance in the modern game of developing your own talent. Well done.
  5. It would certainly be news to the people of Fort William if Fort William turned out not to be in Inverness-shire... On entering a colt side into the highland league, I think it could be good for club. However like others have said, I’m not too sure I’m entirely comfortable with the idea of colt sides competing against senior clubs. Mind you should the highland league clubs be happy with such a move then it might be a bit of a no brainer. In any case, there really needs to be some recognised mechanism for us to develop young players that are older than 18

Good thinking, let’s drop our top scorer for a guy who has done nothing. Any other pearls of wisdom to share just in case Robbo reads the forum ?
  7. Against the possibility that not taking the risk of an appeal could potentially cost us over a million pounds. Even with money as tight as it is, it strikes me as a gamble worth taking.
  8. Good performance from us in both halfs but game ruined as a spectacle by that idiot of a referee. It was a yellow card at best as the United player did lower his head. He then proceeded to thrash about as if he was seriously injured but strangely, he didn't have to go off for treatment and was running about straight away. Don't know if anyone else noticed but it looked like the ref tried to play an advantage for us due to a foul in our box and was about to pull play back for us when the Polworth incident happened. To then compound his mistake, Utd then get the free kick. Shouldn't really be surprised at the ref's performance as hugely similar to his in the last Country game. Truly dreadful refereeing for which there is no excuse. Don't believe the game is over as Utd were pretty poor, just goes to show that money doesn't always buy you quality and how poor a manager Neilson is.
  9. Nobody now expects us to progress. No bad thing. That tends to be when we are at our most effective and dangerous.
  10. That was one hell of a game, first half at least. Ruined as a spectacle by the red card, but United seemed to be running out of ideas when they got their goal. Brilliant effort to stay in the game...play like that on Friday and it's a win.
  11. Pity. Even down to 10 men, we looked reasonably comfortable defending, until a poor error by McHattie led to the goal. But, at least we're not out of it yet. With our good away form, if we score first on Friday we'll have a decent chance. Believe!

I just download them to my phone and do the same for the wee man. A tad inconvenient as I need to do two separate transactions whereas before I think I could "gift" a ticket to him but no biggie. System works well and if you buy online it also goes on to the season ticket/ credit card which I have also renewed. An expensive week, now expecting my player sponsor renewal to come in and I'll be greeting! Mon ICT, be happy to pay for a couple of extra tickets for the final....
  13. Maybe the hotel staff will put cascara in their porridge.
  14. We don't need a big budget to get fans of their arses and get behind the side. If the official attendance is correct, then 2604 fans. 1050 of them were away fans so that leaves 1554 home fans. What does this city want ffs. They obviously don't want a football club to be playing at the top level. That's one of the reasons we are in financial trouble, the general apathy of Inverness. It's bloody depressing.
  15. Nick Walsh is a clown of a ref. He has previous with Caley and tonight he was just so hasty to give a red card. Think its worth appealing but Robbo is not of same opinion. We are good away from home so still in with a good chance. Thought all the players played their part tonight in a very good performance considering we played two games while Utd were resting.
  16. I was amused by some of our supporters shouting abuse at the Utd players and the referee for Utd's time wasting at the end. After the red card, they always looked the more likely to score and having got the goal, I fail to understand why they didn't use the man advantage to push for further goals. They played as though the it was a one off game and not a two leg tie. They should have gone for the jugular and may regret not having done so. After conceding the goal I am perfectly happy that we are only one goal down going into the 2nd leg. Thought Aaron Doran was superb in the first half and it's a great shame that we weren't able to capitalise on his work by scoring. No doubt that Utd got the rub of the green in this game. Their fans will now expect them to put the tie to bed at home and all the pressure will be on them. I think we are capable of upsetting them on Friday.
  17. The scabby Arabs were there for the taking tonite until up pops another pish poor referee who makes a complete hash of things and ruins what was up until then a really good game. The utd players reaction was a fecking joke, banging the ground and rolling around it was comical, but absolute no surprise when you see how the manager hounded and bitched at the 4th official for the total 90mins.
  18. A key player restored for a crucial game and probably feeling wronged wanting to make amends is surely ... surely worth £1000.
  19. Will make winning feel all that much sweeter on Friday ?
  20. Injustice if nothing's done...we all know it was BS, if you have the opportunity to appeal, take it...
  21. Yes but it will cost the club £1,000 which at this moment they do not feel is worth paying in the circumstances.
  22. Is there time for any appeal against the red card to be dealt with before the second leg?
  23. Spot on Huisdean! We have to go and stuff them on Friday.
  24. Just seen the picture of Polworth's challenge on the BBC website, just highlights how poor the decision was to send him off
  25. He put his whistle to his mouth but didn't give any hand signals that advantage was played
  26. Even first half, we could have went in ahead if whites header got in instead of post. Sending off should have been a booking only. That changed the game but a strong team performance kept Utd out until late slightly fortuitous goal. Thought Macauley should have come on instead of Harper? Still in it though..to be continued....
  27. If anything, United have increased the pressure on themselves - they are expected to go through now.
  28. Basic run down. It would be a high foot on a toddler... That's how high his foot was...like literally...not worth the sending off, what's his face put himself in that position, and there was no intent to cause injury by Polly, just trying to punt it upfield...If anything, it's worth a strong yellow, but if never call it a red...
  29. Looks like it is a Friday night in Dungdee for moi. The "vibes" are still positive and it would not surprise me that this "topsy-turvy" group of players bring of yet another away "surprise". You can say what you want but this season has been a considerably better rollercoaster ride that anticipated and who would have thought that we were ending it on the cusp of promotion.
  30. 1-0 no bad considering we were down to 10 men gotta great chance 2nd leg
  31. I haven't seen it, but that's basically what all the BBC radio commentators are saying. From listening to the match, it sounded to me as though we played pretty well - in the first half, and also for a spell after Polly was sent off. With 11 players on Friday, and our away record being better than our home record, we have every chance of a result.
  32. Full time. Polworth sending off changed the game BIG TIME.

What I recall Bob Hite saying was "Johndo, Every time you do your thing, Do your thing outlaw, Sic 'em pigs on you; Feelin' good have some fun. Go down town but don't you. Don't you wonder round. Sic 'em pigs on you."
  34. What about an Americanisation with a deep meaning - Kingsmill Inferno ?

Being in the play-offs at all means that we have finished in a higher league position than we did last year and benefit from a not inconsiderable extra amount of prize money as a result. Any income from the play-offs is therefore a bonus. The priority IMHO should be to get as many people into the ground as possible to provide the support for the team, and that means charging minimum prices. Some of us are fortunate that the price is not a consideration, but for the large number of fans whose finances are pretty tight and who want to bring the family along, buying tickets at the minimum price even, represents a significant outlay which they were not expecting. Upping the price to midway between the minimum and the minimum for the final round is a further £10 on top of Saturday's £36 for 2 adults and 2 children. That will be enough to discourage some. Good marketing on social media and other channels could have emphasised the need for a good support and to state that the club has priced the game at the minimum allowed in order to help as many people as possible get to the game might have encouraged a significant number of folk to make the effort. It would have been good PR.. I expect the higher price being charged will result in a smaller crowd but will still bring in more money than had the price been kept to the minimum. But that is not the point. As I say, any profit from the game is a bonus, what really matters is to get the fans in to cheer the team on in what is the most important game of the season so far.
  36. I was gonna put up earlier he'd be a decent signing for us obvs myself and Robbo 2 great footballing minds think alike! I'll boldly say old James be our top goal scorer nxt season! That the end of the road for Austin I always rated him a better player than White didn't get a decent run in the team
  37. By your Google search the website you've chosen to base your brilliant knowledge of geography on also had moray as part of Inverness shire. However ordnance survey maps the aa road maps and Wikipedia (not 100%) accurate all place it bang slap in the middle of lochaber. Inverness shire stops just south of fort Augustus. Please don't use goggle to study for any geography exams you may be waiting to sit.
  38. Nice leaving gift from Polly!
