What utter s***e ! Like many before him, the guy is in the death throes of his current contract and has chosen to look further afield as he can make more money doing the same job elsewhere. The 'guardians' of the club as you so derisively call them can no more make him sign a new contract than you could. It is the player's choice, or in some cases, the choice or advice of the player's agent. We have been down this road in every division we have been in, including the premiership and with every board and chairman who has ever been at the helm for more than 5 minutes. As for the player, I cant say I blame him ..... The gulf in income between premiership and championship is massive - even before you consider Uncle Roy's deep pockets - so its no surprise that a player would look to go there for a bigger payday in what is a short career compared to other occupations so whilst we may not like it, any sane and intelligent human should be able to understand it.

You don't get tired of spouting this stuff do you?? The more disillusioned you get the more you seem to post...only happy when it rains.

£200 extra a week (minimum) to play at a higher level and not have to uproot yourself from the area? It's a no brainer really for the likes of Donaldson and Chalmers to move OTB. It's absolutely shite to see but as long as we are below County get used to it.
  4. That's right, and thanks to climate change its level is rising. If you take a deep divot at the wrong part of the pitch, you get a cold shower.
  5. "Berra...still a top player" Man alive! The 'roids have clearly turned Simmo's brain to mush.
  6. No, we have ambition, it’s money that we don’t have.
  7. Sadly this is a sign of the times and our inability to compete financially with Uncle Roy's, permanently open, cheque book. I guess these guys have short careers and need to maximise their earnings but the laziness of Donaldson, Chalmers, Draper et al trooping over the bridge is more than a little depressing. Coll in particular is someone we rescued from the Tannadice scrap heap and essentially revived his faltering career. If Coll moved on to a bigger club elsewhere I would bear no real grudge but joining our neighbours, knowing full well how this will be viewed by the fans who've welcomed him as a bit of a cult hero - despite his undoubted shortcomings, feels like a bit of a kick in the nuts. Wouldn't it be amusing if he joins the judas colony, they slip to 11th and we relegate them in the play-offs. Call me childish but I think I'd enjoy that almost as much as 30th May 2015.

Robbo's record of finding unheralded players and turning them into players bigger clubs want to sign is way better than his 2 predecessors. I can't be bothered with speculation about who we may or may not be looking at. If Robbo thinks they are good enough, then that's good enough for me.

Cos were in desperate need of cash
  10. 10th January 2020 Good morning Please be advised that there will be a pitch inspection at 12 noon today ahead of tomorrow’s Ladbrokes Championship game between Inverness CT and Queen of the South. Harry Gow coming in to turn around the pie situation.
  12. Players hated Foran as well I mind speaking to a certain player early on in the season when we were doing OK told me Foran was a fudd who'd already lost the dressing room his exact words! Once the dressing rooms lost as well packing up
  13. Good god man there a huge improvement on most of our players wev got White Traff and Carson in our 1st team squad ! Got Toshney in now anyway Airds on the mega bus as we speak
  14. Given the weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow morning I thought the game would be in jeopardy. However I assumed the call off was in anticipation of this (and to save the QOS players from travelling up today as they'd planned). The weather in the last day or two has hardly been extreme. It does raise questions about the state of the pitch. I understand that there was one area during the Dunfermline game (which I wasn't at) which looked very dicey and perhaps this is the problem. That said, every time I've been to the ground this season I've been impressed by the surface which has looked the best it has for years and seemed to be holding up well after being relaid in the summer.
  15. Yep we never had so many postponements back then - and as for location, being near the sea doesn't seem to cause the same problems at Arbroath, still the only ground I've been in where I've been soaked on the terracing by sea water rather than rain water!
  16. Need to steer as far away from Toshney and Aird as possible. Theres good reason why united spent so long trying to punt them off for nothing. Dreadful in the championship and sub-par in league 1.
  17. Questions must start to be asked regarding the pitch and it’s future suitability the last few years we have seen more and more call offs. Im afraid sea water, sea air and been open to the elements for twenty years has done untold damage. Never should a football pitch been situated on an area that was only suitable for a landfill site. Dougal
  18. Berra has never been a top player. Just imagine a back four with Berra, Toshney and another couple of jobbers? The match ball would be bouncing along the A9 much to the the annoyance off all the drivers on the Kessock bridge. The mind boggles Dougal

This continuous transfer movement north over the bridge is a deeply worrying trend and in my eyes an absolute outrage. Cant believe how many home fans see this acceptable behaviour from the so called guardians of this club. Maybe it’s time for a name change ICT to ICR would be appropriate as we have basically become Inverness County Reserves. I don’t even think Donaldson will be that great acquisition for County but he’s far better than the likes of Lewis Toshney who is a proven county reject. Never have I been more disillusioned Dougal
  20. Lewis Toshneys no a bad player that's a blinding signing! Robbo needs to try get Berra on loan for rest of the season big statement that would be still a top player! Would like to keep McCart hope he signs on not a great move for him PT but suppose he's a weegie closer to home! Still think we should take a punt on Aird and try get a decent creative midfielder in on loan it's the top end of the pitch wev been gash in dunno are our striker shocking or is there no creators but something has to change !

As I said in the other thread that money is only really useful if Robbo can use it to get a defender in of decent ability so our promotion hunt isn't affected otherwise we're as well keeping Coll until the end of the season.
  22. What this demonstrates is that Robbo has real resilience. It was great to see the supporters at Dens getting behind him. Here we are second in the league, in a poor financial position, key players looking to secure their short term careers elsewhere, and Robbo remains incredibly enthusiastic and getting results against the odds.

Ross Tokley in the p and j today saying coll will risk the wrath off the Caley fans if he moves. For one I don't care if he stays or go. What I'm more concerned about is if we have the chance of getting some cash into the club for his departure now as he has signed a pre contract to go anyway. Why wait 5 months of playing him? We are not In a position to turn down money for players. We for to long have kept players and let them leave for free. Let's start making some money for taking these guys on and ressurecting their careers.
  24. Because clearly Robbo needs to balance getting money in for them and actually being able to sign capable replacements versus losing them for nowt and ensuring we still have them available to us for the rest of the season.

Well, Alan, you certainly are a different kettle of fish my man! Smile. But, personally speaking I, do feel that you have a way of brightening up a punter's day. At least you are refreshingly different and no doubt have made several points that have turned heads and been close to the truth, etc. So..keep on truckin, and buckin ….the trend. And one day you may be the top …. with maybe Dougal as your sidekick......eh?

Loyalty--what is that then ? Players have long ago determined that their best interests are served by playing for a club with a future, money in the bank, and a decent raise at season's end for the next year's performance. Assuming, of course, that their striving and performance during the season about to end has been notable rather than just naughty play-acting. No use at all crying the blues and pointing fingers at this player and that player since that is the modern reality, dearies,---- at least IMHO. And if the selling club does not have the money to boost a good player's paycheque then well..." I really liked playing for ICT but ". will be the tune they play on their imaginary fiddles. It's not about blame ! It's about the reality of modern day pressures and the costs of living.....and, of course, that player's ambition too relating to his future and that of his family.

It’s sad because County are now extracting the urine out of us as they Lord it up in the league above. It shows a complete lack of ambition from the so called guardians of our club shame on them. Doubt you will be so upbeat when you hear who the jobber is that is lined up to replace him. 3 or 4 trialists will be training with us shortly and if the names I’ve heard are correct the future is deeply concerning Dougal

Haha coz I'm the only guy on here that actually nos what he's talking about my man won the Europa League with Legia Warsaw on Champs manager I no my stuff

That sounds more believable. I can’t see any benefit to Celtic of making the approach as a low offer would rather give the game away as to what they may be willing to accept for Ryan. Also, my understanding is that 14% is not the figure agreed. Having said that, regardless of who is taking the initiative I would say both clubs should be happy to agree £2million at this point. That would make it clear to other clubs that they needn’t bother making offers under £20m. Whilst higher transfers could give us more, £2m is more than we could have expected when Ryan moved to Celtic so if Celtic get more than £20m then good luck to them.
  30. Don't think we should be wasting our limited resources bringing anyone in. We've got a decent squad, and talented youngsters waiting in the wings. A few more supporters turning up wouldn't go amiss though!

Some off the pies I've had at Caley could bounce.
  32. Trafford and Carson were at the heart of some of our best performances this season. White still up there with a decent tally of goals even when playing poorly. Meanwhile Aird struggled to to make an impact in League 2 with Cove, after he was binned off by United and QoS for not being good enough. Plus, with Walsh coming back we don’t need someone like him when we already have Doran, Keatings, Roddy, Machado and Storey.
  33. Looks like the rumours of players not getting on with Robbo may have some truth in it they cant wait to get away but its a difficult one for the club do they let them go and make a little money? or loose players in the summer for nothing? But if the Board have any ambition at all they need to be very careful who they let go despite the pennies they may get for them not sure i want to keep players in the team who do not want to be here and dont get along with the coaches but the coaches i am sure are not totally blameless
