  1. Grim, grim, grim. Dundee well on top at the start and although we pushed them back a bit they quickly re-established their dominance. They knew a high press against our back line would work given McCann's preference to play out from the back and players were often caught in possession. Meanwhile, our defence looked haphazard any time a cross or long throw came anywhere near it. McDaid turning Duffy inside out for a good chunk of the first half before he eventually realised he could nullify him by sending him towards the bye line was criminal in how long it took to be employed. By that time though the damage was largely done. McMullan was ripping Harper apart on the ICT left and he sent in a cross that found Max Anderson as he burst into the penalty area and although Ridgers did well to save his first effort the Dee player made no mistake at the second time of asking and put Dundee 1 - 0 up. We rallied a little to push the home side back a bit and had some half chances but Dundee took a deserved two goal lead when a high ball into the box was missed and it landed at the feet of Cummings who spun round and whipped the ball into the net. Prior to this Dundee had great chances falling the way of Mullen, Cummings and Anderson who all had goal bound efforts blocked by Deas or Ridgers. It was one way traffic in the first half and ICT could count themselves fortunate not to be further behind. Second half was less eventful overall compared to the first. A suspiciously offside looking Storey broke through the Dundee defence but shot straight at Hamilton as the angle narrowed whilst Sow blazed over after good work by Cummings on a Dundee counter attack. We did get one goal back when Harper sent over a delicious cross from the left touchline to find Toddy at the back post and he thumped a header past the flailing Hamilton. A similar move almost lead to an ill deserved equaliser but this time the header went wide. Grim performance from us. As has been the case at times this season we at poor for about 75% of the game then improve markedly for the final 15 to 20 minutes or and look like we might do something. I know we have important creative players like Doran and McDonald out but we should be still be doing better than we are. We created precious little for most of that game it is extremely concerning going into a very tough game on Saturday against Alloa. Go behind in that and I don't fancy our chances of turning it around into a much needed 3 points.
  2. This is a season for surviving, rebuilding and getting youngsters in. The first of those three is most important.
  3. Hopeless for 70 minutes. Slightly less hopeless for 20. It would have been a robbery had we equalised. Big game on Saturday now, need 3 points before we find ourselves worried about the wrong playoffs.
  4. Quite similar attitude that we have had for a few years now. We have a decent performance and a bit of praise and the next performance is a shocker. Players seem disinterested, hesitant and like they don't really care. Defence. Wow. Lost count of the number of headers lost. Mullen and Cummings are a pretty short strike force but are causing lots of problems. We are so slow to push out of the box and keep a high line. It cost us and against hearts and has cost us again. It's infuriating, repeating the same mistakes. Midfield looks a shadow of itself with Roddy and Carson. No energy, no guile. Cant see any hope of getting back into this unless Dundee just assume this game is wrapped up. Hopefully McCann makes some changes because that was dreadful.
  5. That could be a huge 6 pointer for the whole league. Suddenly the top 4 have a touch of breathing space. I hate to say it but we maybe need to look down more than up. Our next 2 games could be huge in that regard. I think we have a young squad that could be dangerous next season (with a couple of less injury prone more experienced pros beside them) but we have to make sure we are still in this league. Most dropped points this season have been preventable but sounds like tonight was a merited defeat.
  6. After all the positives from the Hearts game, that was a real let down. 4 wins from 16 league games is not the form required for promotion.
  7. I agree. Other than when Storey was through on goal, I don’t recall much from the starting front four. Keatings was lively but Sutherland and Mackay had little impact. We bypassed the midfield first half so Welsh and Allardice could not have any positive impact. Carson made a difference and I’d like to see how we play with him and Allardice as the central pairing. The other difference was the good use Dundee made of wide areas, whereas we were ineffective playing wide other than when Duffy and Harper were rarely able to get forward. Harper played a great cross for our goal, but as we were pinned back we struggled to have any width. What a contrast from the first half hour on Friday.
  8. 1 win in 10. Says it all
  9. Any chance we can null and void this season
  10. ...we only lost by 1 when it could have been much worse!
  11. Toddy and Carson must start on Saturday. Least they changed the game by coming on apart from that can't really take much from the game Dundee were the better side
  12. If you didn’t watch it, ignore the BBC stats. The score line flattered us as Dundee dominated the game other than the last 15 minutes or so. We really struggled to get into the game and keep the ball. Our midfield was out of the game, particularly in the first half, whilst up front, other than the goal, we did very little. The second half was slightly better than the first, but the first was dreadful. Hard to find any positives.
  13. Absolutely horrific 1st half.
  14. 3 defenders next to Cummings.....sh*te
  15. We are being battered. Can’t keep the ball or do anything positive. They look dangerous every time they come forward. Poorest we’ve been in a while. Outfought, outthought and outplayed so far.
  16. The Scotty Gardiner grudge game. After two home games, both ending in draws, on Tuesday night it's the City of Discovery that awaits and a visit to Dens Park, probably without a couple of our more influential players. The game is a 7:00pm kick-off and can be streamed from Dee TV for £12.50. Dundee have only played two games in February whilst we have been playing catch-up. Both sides sit outside the top four with Dundee two points ahead of the Caley Jags on nineteen points. We have a busy time coming up for March with six games scheduled starting at Dens Park. Dundee fans are still seething after some twisted information on Dundee's last visit when their chairman was left hanging by a thread according to some bitter Dee's. Good enough given the way their own club has handled some of the recent votes regarding possible league reconstruction. Short memories. Anyway, they have never really forgiven us for overturning a 15 point deficit to win the Championship by 12 points in 2010. Happy Days! I fear this game could now swing in the direction of the McCann Moanfest as he takes charge of his second game in the dugout with Robbo still on leave. Yes, Dundee fans have a long memory and although he did well in his stint as temporary manager five years ago, they were very critical of his managerial credentials once he got the job on a permanent basis. Anyway, his first game on Friday night was a credible 1-1 draw with leaders Hearts who came from behind for the third game in a row to earn a point. Liam Boyce bagging the leveller after Mr Muscle Miles Storey scored in the tenth minute. ÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷ OFFICIAL PREVIEW STREAMING REGISTER FOR STREAMING ÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷ Last 10 Competitive Meetings against Dundee back to Nov 2016 2 - 2 (H) 2 - 0 (A) 1 - 0 (H) 0 - 0 (A) 0 - 1 (A) 0 - 1 (H) 2 - 2 (A) 2 - 0 (A) 2 - 2 (H) 1 - 2 (A) Dundee boss (for now), Jake McPake, has a fairly extensive squad to pick from and the addition of Osman Sow, Paul McMullan and Jason Cumming will boost their chances of at least a play off spot come the end of the season. Factor in the experience of Charlie Adam and Paul McGowan then it's a daunting task for our dishevelled squad. Rumour has it that Charlie Adam could be one of the two people at Dens Park who could be self isolating after covid testing revealed a positive result, and anyone in contact will also miss out. We seem to be no further forward with our injury situation so that should mean that the four longer term casualties are Lewis Toshney, Kevin McHattie, Aaron Doran and Anthony McDonald. James Vincent has missed the last couple of games but is back in training. ***Latest Team News*** Neil McCann has said that Anthony McDonald is the worst of our injured players with the rest of the crocks back in training. So, it seems that we are getting there and yes, Lewis Toshney is a real thing. 17. A win would be good. Keep it tight at the back as per Hearts game and nip a winner...Bobs' yer Uncle 😁three points and up the road... 😉

  19. A 2nd place finish is still achievable, not just the playoffs. All the games yesterday were kind to us. The team have to make those games in hand count though.
  20. McCann’s winless run as a manager now extends to 3 and a half years. 😀
  21. I have never like McGowan or McMullan and they’ve done nothing tonight to endear themselves to me. Both are cynical and try to con refs, but sadly both are giving us a very hard time tonight.
  22. Looks like more lost points from another game in hand. 😱
  23. Absolute Shyte.... players look lost and disinterested
