Disappointing to see such a negative reaction to a decent performance and a good result against the team leading the league for most of the season. Yes, recent weeks and months have been desperately disappointing but yesterday could well be a turning point. We are still in with a shout of promotion and I personally would prefer to adopt a more positive attitude for as long as that remains the case.6 points

My first trip up North this season [thanks to Covid] with my wife, and we had bright sunshine for the whole game and a very decent win. A great start with two early goals, really settled the nerves, not sure what would have happened if that Arbroath attempt that hit the post had gone in, but we contained Arbroath pretty well for most of the match, even if some of the play was a bit agricultural, there were enough moments of good play from the side to come away in good heart. Sutherland was my MOTM, I felt he put in a very solid and classy display. Doran put in some excellent dead ball kicks, he looked more like his old self in parts, as did Dave Carson. I couldn't fault anyone for effort [Welsh/McAlear ran the midfield for large parts, and Billy M was busy and took his goal very well], overall the defence was pretty solid, and Mackay in goal looked really good. I kept an eye on Hardy a lot, and wasn't sure what he was contributing in the first half, he looks an intelligent player but was a bit powderpuff in challenges and slow, but his second half showing was so much better and he carved out a great chance that went begging. And a player who took me completely by surprise was Wallace Duffy, who hasn't really figured at all at right back, but was immense at centre back winning virtually everything in the air, was that a one-off, because if not he needs his contract extended. As the saying goes 'One swallow doesn't make a summer' and automatic promotion is now a distance dream, but although Raith also won [finally also], maybe Partick losing yesterday makes the play-off fight still 2 from 3. And maybe, just maybe Arbroath will run out of puff in the play-offs... Every match is now a cup-final. Aye, it it was a lovely trip up.4 points

It's great to get a win at last. The margin of victory probably flattered us but hopefully the win will give us a bit more confidence to push on. Arbroath are where they are in the league on merit, but yesterday I thought they played as well as they were allowed to play. We gave them little time on the ball and forced them into mistakes. This clearly rattled them along with us (for once) being beneficiaries of a very erratic refereeing performance. I thought the effort from the whole team was excellent, with Sutherland being outstanding and Devine having a commanding performance at the back. It was good to see Doran have as good a game as he's had for some time and it was noticeable how he was being much more positive than of late. That is reflected in the team as a whole in that we are looking to get players forward. The 2nd goals was a thing of beauty and shows what we are capable of when we play with a bit more boldness and take a few risks. For all the positives, it must be said that we didn't actually create many chances. There is still too much of the long high ball to small strikers who are being jostled for position by big defenders. If we are going to go on a run we absolutely must maintain the level of intensity we showed yesterday. There is not a lot of difference between the teams in this division and any team can beat any other on their day. If players are not up for it on the day, they will lose. But keep the intensity, be bold and who knows, we just could be back in the top flight next season.4 points

I didn't notice anyone celebrating like we had won the league. I did notice for the first time in many weeks fans talking positively and been greatly encouraged by a performance and result. To beat the league leaders going into the weekend so comfortably is something that should be celebrated.4 points

You may be right and I have been as critical as anyone but, unless or until we are no longer in the promotion hunt, let's just get behind the team and leave such decisions for a bit later.3 points

Well done and thanks to all the boys for a great afternoons entertainment. More of the same please in the coming weeks. After our last home game against Arbroath, it was particularly satisfying to watch the lack of time wasting from their goalie and others yesterday, compared with last time. I'm proud to say that our boys did not resort to the same shoddy tactics, but kept pressing forward for more goals. Onward and upwards now.3 points

Just watched the highlights and Shane had a hand in all three goals. Probably his best game for us since returning. Raith will be as relieved as we were yesterday to get a first win for months so next weeks game will be interesting to say the least.3 points

While I applaud the team for their display and performance yesterday along with an excellent result, I remain grounded and realistic about games to come and what the remainder of the season holds. I can understand the reactions above and do believe most of it is through sheer relief more than anything else but rewind to the last few weeks and remember the outcry and outpouring of criticism forwarded to all at the club. I stand by my previous comments and do believe the BD and most of the coaching staff need to go, I could be wrong but I think yesterdays result may just be papering over the cracks. If I am wrong then I will quite happily admit at the end of the season and will apologise however the cynical part of me doesn't think that I am. Could it be merely the breathing space that all involved require to just limp home until the end of the season.2 points

Thought Sutherland made a huge difference today, linked the play and shown confidence trying to pick a pass, where others just try and get rid. Still far to many hopeful long punts, but after such a winless run will happily take any 3 points.2 points

My feet still firmly on the ground but great to get a convincing win (not just any old win)... Excellent performance when the ball was on the ground. I think our coaches must have been on a final warning as they got the tactics just right for a change. All we have to do now is to play with that intensity and conviction and get ourselves promotied to the top league Come on I C T.2 points

That was a very welcome and long overdue three points. We played with a lot more intensity today, closing them down and making quick passes on the front foot. We must continue to pass our way to goal, as our second goal illustrates what we can achieve when we hit our opponents with quick passes and play our football on the deck. Still too many long hopeful balls punted up to our small strikers, their centre backs won every one, can we not see how fruitless this tactic is? I thought the tactics were spot on today, we played a lot narrower, and when we passed through our midfield, looked dangerous everytime. The whole team performed well, but I think Sutherland and Carson for me were the pick. If we can play with this intensity and desire in the remaining games the final play off place will be ours.2 points

What a pleasure and a relief to win again at last. Huge game now next week in Kirkcaldy against our rivals for the final play off place but we can take confidence not just from the result but from the performance and commitment shown today. That's what we need to see for all our remaining games. This cloudy season could yet conclude with a silver lining.2 points

The Board of the Supporters Trust met last week. I have stepped down as chair with Jennifer Aitchison taking over. Jen is well qualified to take on the role as she has recently had a term of office on the Board of Supporters Direct Scotland. She will continue to act as Secretary meantime. Laura Grant continues with a dual remit of Treasurer and Vice-Chair, Alison McInnes is now Membership Secretary and John West is taking on a new role as Media officer. It has been a challenging couple of years for the Board, but with some sort of normality returning, we are determined that the Supporters Trust should have more of an impact both in making the fans' voices heard and in providing meaningful support to the club. With this in mind, we have developed a number of goals to work towards. These are as follows. Short Term Goals – To be completed by AGM December 2022 Double membership year on year by AGM. Establish a formally constituted fundraising working group. Establish regular liaison meetings with the Club's Supporter Liaison Officer to develop a clear communication route between representatives of the Club and supporters. Hold open meetings to introduce the Trust to non-members, to better understand fans’ expectations of the Trust and to raise the profile of the Trust. Co-opt people onto the Board to better represent the wider demographic of our support. Medium Term Goals – To be completed by AGM December 2023 Develop a programme of regular social/fundraising events. Participate in a significant fundraising initiative in conjunction with the Club. Establish a regular visible presence at the ground on matchdays to provide help and advice, and to offer a channel for supporters to provide feedback on the matchday experience. Carry out surveys amongst Trust members to provide the Club with representative feedback of the supporters' views on issues of interest. Establish a youth section to work on issues relevant to a group that represents the future of the club's support Long Term Goals – No specific target date To have membership numbers in excess of the number of season ticket holders in order to be seen as truly representative of the fan base. To have a democratically elected fans' representative on the Club Board. The plan is to review these goals annually and submit them in a resolution for approval by members at the AGM. This is important. The Board’s role is to represent the interests of the fans and therefore our goals need to reflect the priorities of those we represent. We will be actively seeking the views of members on this issue in due course and are currently exploring a mechanism of doing so via our website. We hope these are goals you can support. But we are just a small group of volunteers and we will not achieve these goals without the active support of our fellow ICT supporters. You can help us achieve these goals by joining the Trust here. Thank you for your support. There is some exciting activity going on behind the scenes and you can expect more regular updates in future.1 point

Hope this term as successful for Jen as her last stint as Chair which covered the Scottish Cup Final. Congratulations Jen and thank you from me Peter for all your hard word during a difficult time for the Trust.1 point

The spell is broken A blistering start by Inverness put them on their way to a first win in 12 starts. Goals from Shane Sutherland and Reece McAlear set them on their way inside eleven minutes. Billy Mckay sclaffed in a third with twenty minutes to go and there was no way back for Arbroath who lost ground at the top of the table with Dick Campbell sent to the stands. As Partick Thistle lost to Morton, we closed the gap to two points behind them with Raith still one point behind us. Away to Rovers next week. That's a massive game now as both sides chase a play-off spot. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Inverness were without Allardice and MacGregor but Tom Walsh made the bench and Cammy Mackay continued in goal. Without a win over the last eleven games, it was a pleasant surprise to see Shane Sutherland bundle the ball in after a corner was prodded down to him almost on the goal line. Great start for the hosts but a bit shoddy from the visitors as Aaron Doran's inswinging corner was knocked down by Billy Mckay from waist high three yards out The second goal was well constructed by Sutherland and Carson who played a lovely one two on the right side before Carson slid a low ball into Reece McAlear. He took a touch and drilled the ball wide of Gaston who was probably unsighted and into the unguarded side of the goal. Arbroath hit back and Cammy Mackay was fortunate when he appeared to guide a low shot from McKenna wide. It bounced off the base of the post and was missed by the incoming Jack Hamilton and Danny Devine before being cleared by Sean Welsh Despite leading 2-0, Arbroath had plenty of possession but our defence were working well as a unit, and thus restricted the visitors to very few opportunities. Furthermore, we seemed intent on shelling cloudbursting balls forward to a couple of vertically challenged personnel in Billy Mckay and Joe Hardy. Half Time: 2-0 Into the second period and Sean Welsh passed up a tremendous chance to make it three. Great work down the right saw Sutherland, Mckay and Hardy combine to set up Welsh twelve yards out. He took a touch then volleyed just over the bar when he really should have scored. Undaunted, we scored a third when Sutherland lofted a ball onto the edge of the box and Billy Mckay held off the defenders to dribble a left footer into the bottom corner. Good goal or sclaff? It mattered not but that was the one that took the wind out of the Smokies sails. Thereafter we saw out the game without too much hassle over the last twenty minutes with Tom Walsh getting a run out and he looked composed which helped take the sting out of Arbroath. I said to my grandkid's "that was an emphatic win" At only seven years old, Ava said "granda, what does win mean?" Yes, it's been a long time coming. Shane Sutherland was the MotM with Reece McAlear, Billy Mckay and David Carson helping the cause more than most and another confident performance from Cammy Mackay in goal. Good to see Walsh looking lively when he entered the fray. Another massive game next week in the context of trying to gain a play off place as we visit Starks Park. We knew Arbroath were fighting to go top and they scrap for everything. "We've been rewarded for the last couple of weeks' hard work. I'm delighted for the defence. Absolutely rock solid. We took our chances. Hopefully that's the base we can work from to go and get in the promotion play-offs." Arbroath goalkeeping coach Rab Douglas: "It definitely didn't happen today. All credit to Inverness. Disappointing for us. We probably weren't at the races. We were just off it. "We're delighted to be in the mix, Arbroath are part-time as everybody knows. I can't see Cammy being dropped anytime soon? None of the goals he's lost last few weeks have been his fault and a clean sheet yesterday. Ridgers isn't going to waltz back in by looks of it. Great to have 2 fab keepers on our books really.1 point

Reflecting on this afternoon, it was good to see Walsh back for a spell and he looked up for it despite being overlooked in recent weeks. Duffy and Harper also played their part off the bench. Doran was harshly booked after being kicked whilst on the ground after a foul. It should have been a red card for the Arbroath player but the referee took the easy option as Doran understandably reacted. It was a good decision to sub him as he was clearly incensed by the way the Arbroath player had treated him. I was surprised Broadfoot was subbed. Had he taken a knock or was it because the Arbroath strikers had the beating of him? Duffy was faultless after he took over. Carson was needlessly booked for an unnecessary foul as we entered stoppage time. Hopefully it doesn’t result in a suspension in the run in. He did seem more like himself though. I was surprised MacKay started ahead of Ridgers again. Maybe Ridgers is not fully fit? I liked the look of Hardy. He made a nuisance of himself throughout his time on the pitch, whilst Mckay seemed much more like himself in today’s formation. Let’s just do less of the long high ball game, please. Anyway, good to have the win and maybe Dodds’ comments about a run will come to fruition. We need to kick on and show today was not a one off.1 point

I really enjoyed that, and at last a Saturday feels like a Saturday should, after a great afternoon watching football: a good all round performance, a comfortable win and a morale boosting three points. My only complaint is that we still hoofed a lot of high balls forward, giving Mckay and Hardy little chance. I thought every player played their part, and we were certainly motivated and committed. We got a bit of luck when Arbroath hit the post but generally coped pretty well, with a lot of bodies put on the line to block efforts. Sutherland was the pick for me. His early goal settled us and his work rate was immense. The highlight was McAlear’s finish after some quick, excellent play. And a shout out for the singing section who were vocal throughout the game. One game does not forgive the last three months, but if we can maintain the level of performance and commitment, a play off spot should be ours. Well done!1 point

Much better performance today helped hugely by the change in formation which should have happened weeks ago. By not playing with two out and out wide men, we looked much more solid in midfield and defence. Thought Shane played well and Duffy was immense when he came on winning every header. Arbroath are a very aggressive and niggly team and were aided in this by yet another abysmal refereeing performance littered with inconsistent decisions. At least it didn't affect the result and I can enjoy a Saturday night for a change.1 point

Well that was good, did it really happen!! Great performances today, what a difference a good result makes1 point

Our battle now is to stay ahead of Raith Rovers for the final play off place and, assuming we manage that, to build up some confidence and momentum going into the play offs. A win today would be a start in that quest.1 point

Delighted to get 3 points on the board. However, celebrating our first win in 12, against a part time team who looked like they were running on empty, as if we'd won the league, just shows how far we've fallen and how desperate we've become.-2 points
