  1. You would almost think they were doing this to spite us all for disapproving the move to Kelty and asking Gardiner to leave because our club is being ruined. This is unprecedented crass behaviour. Are they bringing the game of football into disrepute? Shocking performance from those within who have done irreperable damage to the brand. I have never been so disengaged from anything in my life. Not sure I can stomach much more of this.

  2. It all makes sense now Dougal, oh you are clever. Didn't know who I was ? What way I voted ? Of course it's now clear we were the first football club applying National Socialist methods to assess memberships and weed out potential "outsiders" Before handing over aforementioned book, he did comprehensively quiz me at length about my previous history, what school did I attend ?, was I left footed ?, could I pronounce rubber bumpers properly?, had I ever fouled Grassa Bennett when playing against the High School U15s ?. He then stamped "undies desirable" on my book which I did think a little odd but I am mildly dyslexic To this day I wear undies to games, (fleece lined October - March)

  3. Agree. I feel ashamed of how our club treating people and finding it hard to stay connected to a club so morally bankrupt. Awful times

  4. Mark, Roddy, Lewis - makes a mockery telling supporters we're going to train in Fife because of the high cost of providing accommodation for players in Inverness - these three do not need accommodation and I bet NONE will be replaced by better players.

  6. Big disappointment for you guys. Denied a stonewall pen and a sucker punch in the last min. Apart from the pen shout Scotland never created much up front at all. First shot 53rd min? McGinn was your best player last night but got hooked. I think Steve Clerk will walk now leaving the door open for big Dunc. However, I have to say your fans did your country (and team) proud.

  7. I am absolutely stunned and staggered that, with less than a week before the first pre season friendly, we have still heard nothing! Do we have a squad to play games? Have we got investment? When is Gardner going? Are we going into admin? The silence is deafening and it's only getting loader - totally shambolic from the club!

  8. That's exactly what it feels like. Surely no club could be so clueless and incompetent as to act this way. The only reasonable explanation is that this is by design. It's made even more ridiculous as most fans are looking for some positivity, some kind of reason to reconnect, get their season tickets, to buy the merch. However the club refuse to communicate anything to fans (or players for that matter) regarding, well anything at all. Utterly bizarre and pathetic in equal measure.

  9. I’m relieved the traditional pain and heartache is over, conjured up too many painful memories from ‘74, ‘78… …now I can get down to enjoying the rest of the tournament and cheering on whoever plays England (with apologies to Gringo )

  10. I had time on my hands this morning so…. First stop Fort George and what looked like seven or eight over-weight members of HM Forces labouring round the training area on a boot camp…. but you never know, that might have been it. Then I thought I’d have a look at the Queens Park track which other clubs have been using. Here a squad of 70+ year olds were making brave efforts to walk or hobble round. So maybe that was the 24-25 squad? But best also check the all weather at the Rugby Club next door since there are going to be a lot of plastic pitches to acclimatise to. It was empty. I’m sure they could have been plenty other places, but the “usual suspect” venues yielded about as much as recent information from the club has.

  11. If anyone goes over to Fort George, can they take a jotter and pencil and take notes please. We have a blank sheet on our Players List for this season. Thanx

  12. We would have been an embarrassment in the last 16 anyway. I went to most of the qualifying games including the monsoon a year ago and it was like chalk and cheese compared to this. We probably peaked too early and without a striker or a right back, then losing Tierney too, we don’t have the depth of squad. We rely heavily on McGinn and McTominay and our back 3 are not good enough ball players at this level. Sad too that Ryan looked a bit culpable at the goal although it’s pretty irrelevant. I fear that’s the end of Clarke’s time. In some ways he’s the same as Southgate.

  13. Never mind. We've still got England to cheer on!

  14. Fuming about the late penalty not given, and not even a VAR check?! However, that aside, we just weren’t good enough. Passing it sideways and backwards and completely toothless in the final third. Very familiar, as you say. Best fans, worst team. Our Mannschaft flopped!

  15. I have renewed my season ticket for the 24th year in a row , I have also renewed both my sons (under 12s) tickets too. I have always loved the club from day one (an ex Caledonian FC fan pre merger who grew up a regular at Telford St) - I want it to remain a going concern. I also want to be able to take my 2 football daft young sons to watch a game on a Saturday afternoon. Maybe I’m being foolish in renewing our tickets - but I really hope to see as many of you there when the 24/25 season kicks off

  20. Gardiner's latest idea - divert the Scotland plane to Dalcross, and that will give us a squad for next season. Though we still won't be able to score any goals...

  23. Oh well, Scotland did what Scotland does! I’m sure none of us are surprised be blew our best chance in years to get to the latter stages of a tournament for the first time. Some of our play was reminiscent of a team we all love!

  24. I've had and still have some concerns with the supporters trust but some of the recent comments on this thread are a bit out of order. If they have agreed to receive information in confidentiality then I don't think they should be sharing it. It would have been good to get a bit more on what kind of assurances they had received along with the statement that was a complete u-turn on the feeling of fans at the most recent meeting even if that didn't have any detail. They may currently find themselves stuck between a rock and a very hard place. Their encouraging of fans to spend money with the club on season tickets and merchandise might also come back to bite them and ruin their standing with fans.Their total silence since that statement is also concerning. All that said I don't think it's right to be intimating they can't be trusted. Noting has happened to justify that. I fall in the camp of people still refusing to buy my season ticket or any merchandise but I also hope the supporters trust were right to back a call to do so. All fans want the same thing even if we might disagree on the way we go about it. The last thing we need is to be divided and fighting among ourselves.

  25. Let's hope that tomorrow we have some sort of clue as to who might be actually playing for us next season and whether Dunc is returning. Without any sort of background information this will just explode our frustration yet again - but I'm not holding my breath

  26. I don't think there is anything suggesting the Trust are untrustworthy? There is no evidence that they areknow much more than us? I know we are all fed up and impatient but all of this is on the club? The silence is deafening! As for joining I'd ask you to do so as numbers are definitely power going forward

  27. I'm a Trust member not a board member. The Trust is regulated by the FCA and for community benefit. A read through the rules might help? The Trust holds the fans voting right and thus votes on behalf of members. It is not a supporters club as some think but obviously the larger the membership the more representative of the fanbase it is. As said above the ST did a very comprehensive survey of ALL fans last year. If you are a member and not happy then maybe communicate with the board? Tbh I hope the fan base stays united as this has worked so far. Sniping at other fans doing their best will only help the dark powers at club

  28. The Trust Board is a representative body, democratically elected by its members (with a limited option to co-opt others onto the Board). Just as your MP doesn't ask all their constituents what they think about all the topics which will be discussed in Parliament, neither can the Trust Board seek the views of all its members on all the topics it raises with or discusses with the club. What it will do is read what is written on here and other social media channels and talk to people before coming to a collective view. That view may also be informed by information provided by the Board which is not and cannot be shared publicly. Clearly, as we don't all agree on everything, people will inevitably disagree with some of the things the Trust says and does. If members do not like what their elected Board members are doing, they have the power to change the Board. If members think they can do a better job, then they are perfectly free to put themselves forward for election. You say you have heard nothing on any wider consultation with fans on any given subject. Perhaps you should give the Matchday Experience Survey a read. If that isn't consulting with fans, I don't know what is. Bear in mind that the Trust's role is carried out entirely by volunteers, who do what they can to represent the fans along with work, family and other commitments. They do it because they want what is best for the club and because they want the fans voice to be heard. I can assure you that none of the Trust Board are self appointed individuals, nor are any of them giving up their own time because it suits their interests and needs. You say you "agree there does need to be a more representative fans voice to influence / communicate with those decision makers on the board", so why then go on to slag off and insult the very people who are giving up their precious free time to do just that? With every fan who becomes a member of the Trust, the Trust becomes more representative and its voice and influence becomes stronger. With every member who offers to help out with the Trust be it as a Board member or just helping in some other way, the more the Trust can do in terms of consultation, research, communication, fundraising, collaborative work on projects with the club etc. If you want a more representative and effective fans voice, you know what to do.

  43. Went along tonight and it was good to be back. It was quite remarkable how little has changed since I left in 1974 and even older people were saying the same thing - the same doors, blackboards, floor tiles, radiators, windows, cloak rooms etc etc. Those who visited were given the freedom to more or less roam the building at will, and every corner you turned, or room you entered, brought back fresh memories. Some wonderful old photos on display too and if one person mentioned MacLeod and his drinking, I think half a dozen did. Several hours later, and back home now, I am struck how even after all this time I had a huge sense of belonging there when I went back today. I must be getting soppy in my old age. :003:

  45. I remember when they built the "Pav" in the early/ mid 60s. It was a memorial to somebody but never seemed to be used very much. I could never see the point in this empty, and as DJS says, "cavernous" structure. I suppose it was inevitable that it had to go. I'm trying to remember who taught in R16 in Dalneigh school, at least when I was there in the early 60s (that was the one on the upper floor at the end of the building, wasn't it?). MacLeod the Deputy was in 15 wasn't he?

  46. Willie Hogg - there's a name I'd forgotten! I learned to fish in the canal. I suppose it was pretty dangerous for kids to be fishing in the locks because if you fell in you were unlikely to come out alive. Remember the first fish I ever caught. I didn't know what to do with it and ran home with it still on the end of the line. Remember the day they demolished the Dalneigh Pavilion - must have been around 1973. We had a grandstand view from Room 16 in Dalneigh. I recall it as having been a fairly cavernous round building with bench seats around the walls. Outside was a swing park. I think it had only been up for a few years but it was going to wreck and ruin with all sorts of high jinks going on there in the wee small hours.
