Oh Gosh, thanks you guys for your lovely comments What an EPIC day, what an EPIC season for a Palace/Caley supporting lad As a Palace supporter I thought I might never see this day, I was strangely calm for most of the game, because Palaces defence was excellent, and on our breaks City always looked vulnerable. Well done Olly Glasner A few drinks into the evening joined by other Palace supporting family Palace in Europe! As for the Henderson VAR moment...as Josh Meekings would say "it was nae a handball"

Pleased for Jake and Ben but especially for Lewis. He has been remarkably positive throughout the period of his injuries and it will be an inspiration to see him back on the park for the Club.
  3. Bit of a stretch though as Smith and White never actually started. However we’ll take big Jordan back if you’re finished with him. Never thought I would ever say that 😅
  4. Said this before during the admin process, but I really wish people wouldn't say things if they don't have solid info they can point to. "I've heard" - who from? When? What's the point in causing unnecessary worry based on nothing but rumour?

Ha! Maybe Rak Sakyi [currently on loan at Sheffield United] Or Franca [needs game time] Munoz on the other hand...coz we need to replace Brannan Meanwhile how about this display at Wembley...make the hairs tingle
  6. Fair point bc. I personally felt more of an attachment to the team when they were cherry-picking the best affordable talent the North of Scotland had to offer, and training up their own youth players to the first team. As the team progressed through the divisions they had to cast the net further afield to be able to compete and I didn't find it so easy to be fanatical about a team comprised primarily of players with little or no connection to the town they were representing. But I suppose most supporters don't see beyond the colour of the strip, which is why 2000-3000 head for Dingwall every fortnight to watch a bunch of Englishmen, Irishmen, Welsh and foreigners supposedly representing the County of Ross. But no Ross-men. And no Scotsmen!

Absolutely! And if he thought the ball was within his area, he would have clutched it with both hands. It is hard to imagine a much clearer goal scoring opportunity than Haaland would have had. Perhaps VAR were confusing Haaland with Hojlund, in which case they might have been justified in thinking there was little chance of him scoring. Glad that Palace won though. Love to watch Eze play.
  8. I would think more of Ross County if they fielded the occasional Highlander in their first team. Or even a Scotsman!

Delighted for you, well deserved. Enjoy every minute 👏

All the best to Eagle4Caley for Crystal Palace's chance of a first piece of silverware
  11. If you read the post again it was suggested that RC " FIELDED the occasional scotsman or highlander." Nothing to do with starting. RC fan ? Never thought I would hear that said about me. 😀 It's a grandad thing. Quality time with 3 grandkids. [ 6 ict season tickets, games at dingwall when ict away] Think I was the only person in the home stand still sitting down when Hale rifled a shot into the top right corner for the opener. Ps.... if big Jordan came back to US I would definitely.... no won't go there.

My favourite day in Norwich is whenever Palace come to play at Carrow Road. I don my old red n blue striped top and get some right confused looks - even from the Palace fans 😁

Well done to Palace. I was cheering them on yesterday. Like others on here, i have a bit of a soft spot for Palace. Proper footie team they are, with proper ground and fans. I enjoy watching them. Reason why i like em is, my BELOVED and much missed Caley (the REAL Caley) used to have a change strip in the mid to late 70s which was similar to Crystal Palace's top.

I don't suppose you can arrange for Eze to come on loan to us could you?
  15. Well, the counter to that is would we, (or more precisely the to be decide new owners) be any different if ICT were in the top league and found that the local youth academy, trained and reared players, don’t reach the level required you go and recruit elsewhere. RC have used many Scottish players (and managers) over the past few years. Just so happens they can get cheaper and better players elsewhere! I’m sure old Roy would have been delighted to have any youth players in the first team. My point is Uncle Roy is careful with his money and ruthless enough to get the best deal he can to keep his team in the top league. Whilst financing the whole operation, as said by Charles, (so long as he is around), it is done with precision and efficiency. The prime objective I understand from AS is to run a far more competent and cost effective club operation once finally out of Administration. If winning promotion from League One (and bringing in much needed more revenue), requires bringing in players from say Kelty or further afield will they reject that route if no highland players are in the team? PS how much I wished I was donating to a ICTFC under 13’s at Tesco on Sat. bc

Memories are made of this. Enjoy every minute of it, we certainly did. Great day for the Eagles, stuck to their game plan. Henderson was outstanding.
  17. If true, could affect when any potential new players could be signed up. Currently only 14/15 confirmed for next season, and most of those are young players. !
  18. Other than Hamilton and Queen of the South, all teams are Central, Fife and further north. That will reduce travel costs for the club.
  19. Congratulations to Cove on winning the battle for the right to play us 4 times next season!

Delighted for you too, Eagle4Caley. I too have a soft spot for Crystal Palace, having lived for part of my misspent youth in a flatshare in Bensham Manor Road in Thornton Heath. I remember that Sainsburys had to give up the shared carpark for a day each fortnight when a home game was on.

I would suggest that the keeper resorted to desperate measures because it WAS a clear goalscoring opportunity into an open goal.

Was thinking the same today, good luck 🤞. I have a soft spot for Crystal Palace always keep a look out for the scores, as its my family's local team (from Thornton Heath) before they moved up to Inverness in the 70s

They are off to a good start. Here’s hoping they manage to win.

Jake along with Lewis Nicolson and Ben Corner have been offered deals until January 2026 to allow them to continue with rehab and hopefully return to match play according to Charlie Christie. This is a huge positive from the club in relation to what’s happened with injured players previously.

Billy was reborn in the last three games. He (undeservedly IMHO) too some stick during his barren spell, but his influence on the younger players and his craft and guile cannot be understated. He didn’t expect to be playing 90 minutes most weeks, but the release of Brooks and injury to Bavidge forced it. Cairns was our only option and his departure indicates that he is maybe not ready for this level. Credit to Billy, he never hid. Next season, I hope we have a striker, signed or on loan, who can really take the weight off, so Billy is under less pressure. Is Keogh not a striker rather than a midfielder? If we lose Musa, bringing Gill back on loan could be a good option if he and Celtic are agreeable. I’m delighted to see the short term deals offered to Nicolson, Davidson and Corner. To me, that shows we’ve learned from how the likes of Walsh, Sutherland and Doran were treated, and want to give players every chance to get rehabilitated. Another welcome change by the new regime

Not sure how I feel about Billy getting another year. For about 40 games this season he looked pretty much finished - some good hold up play and passes but he wasn’t sharp and offered no goalscoring threat. Then when his contract is about to expire he puts in 3 great performances with goals! I guess it was only out of necessity that he was starting every week, and hopefully we will be able to sign a goalscoring striker or two this summer so that Billy is an option rather than the only option.
