  1. Criticism intended only where the cap fits OCGirl................ I don't see you in that mix! and always express your personal views mostly they are appreciated. J H is an old fashioned Guy and takes it on the chin when it comes. He dishes it out the same way, I'm sure the players are ' man enough ' to take it, if indeed there is not good reason behind it. ---------Besides the mamby pamby stuff is not good for football. Kingsmills I didn't think you thought of him that way but i'm always learning.

  2. Abdul Osman apparently being chased by the likes of Blackpool as well so think we could struggle to tie that down with competition from down south. If it's true I would love to see Ofere back with us, but can't see it to be honest. Aiden Connolly I'm unsure of taking the gamble on a player that hasn't been playing, I believe he is probably going to sign for Raith according to reports. Everyone talking about signing forward players, personally I think we need some cover at the back as we are down to the bare bones if anyone gets injured! When we are talking at times of Drapes or Wedderburn having to play centre half it certainly isn't a good position to be in! Why aren't we competing with the likes of St Johnstone for Blair Alston

  3. With the speed and intensity of the modern game, 'playing through injuries' is no longer an option. It's never a good idea to ignore medical advice in any case. Players aren't cogs or gears to be used, burned out and cast aside. They have their futures to think about, football is their bread and butter. Why risk shortening your career to prove some kind of macho point playing through the pain barrier? Not a good day at the office for Yogi.

  4. I wasn't surprised by Sky's decision. They were looking for a big upset; wee part-time team knocking the cup holders out!

  5. Who's proposing namby pamby stuff? If there are players who are not pulling their weight they need to be told and I am sure Yogi does just that. But lets keep it in the dressing room and on the training pitch, please. Personally I get a little cheesed of with Yogi saying that he's an honest guy and then using that to justify some criticism of the players. A bit of honesty in admitting where he's got it wrong himself from time to time would not go amiss. He's the manager and the buck stops with him. He should shoulder the blame and support the players in public and give them a rollicking in private when appropriate.

  6. I note Sturgeon has been on her high horse again in line with her rather confused understanding of the democratic principle. She wants Scotland to be exempted from the Trades Union Bill because she apparently thinks it is perfectly reasonable that workers be called out on strike on the say so of a minority of union members voting for strike action. She is also banging on about the the percieved outrageous situation there would be should Scotland vote to stay in the EU and the UK as whole vote to leave. What a short memory she must have. Had Highland voted to remain in the UK but Scotland as whole voted to leave, I don't think Highland would have been allowed to stay as part of the UK and nor would we have asked to do so. It was a decision made by the Scottish electorate as whole for Scotland as a whole, and it was all or nothing. The same applies with the EU. The people of Scotland recently reaffirmed their wish to remain part of the UK. What that means is that we should accept the collective will of the British people. Ms Sturgeon's persistence in trying to force the will of minorities over the will of the majority is really getting tiresome.

  7. I know it happened a few days ago, but I simply can't let the SNP's cringeworthy contribution to the Donald Trump banning debate pass without comment. I think just about everyone in the UK condemned Trump for his comments but a significant minority were so outraged about Trump wanting to ban Muslims entering the USA that they felt Trump should be banned from the UK. Despite the obvious contradiction in that absurd position, sufficient people, urged on by the SNP, jumped on the unthinking outraged bandwagon to enforce a pointless Parliamentary debate on the matter. Politicians across the political divide from Farage and Cameron and through to Corbyn all took the very sensible view that a ban would be self defeating and it would be far better to allow him into the country where he could be challenged to debate and shown up for the total idiot he is. But not everyone took that view. There were a small number of labour and tory oddballs and then there was the SNP. Salmond had earlier made an appallingly flippant and crass comment about wanting to ban all Donald Trumps from the UK. On the day of the debate though it was left to Tasmin Ahmed-Sheikh to present the reactionary rabble's case for a ban. Rather than join the other parties in the call to debate with Trump, Ms Ahmed-Sheikh called for him to be banned on the grounds of "religious harmony"! She stated that Trump's comments made the UK an "uncomfortable place" for her and other Muslims to live in. What a completely moronic and frankly insulting thing to say. Trump's comments were made by an American politician in an American election and relate to immigration into America. It might make America an uncomfortable place for Muslims to live in and she should be glad she lives here and not there. I would also suggest that the almost universal condemnation here of Trump's comments were a wonderful demonstration of the religious harmony that exists here and should make Muslims feel very comfortable in the UK. On a more personal level, she should reflect on the fact that the people of this country have actually elected her to Parliament which should make her feel very comfortable that the muslim community is an integral and valued part of our multicultural society. Trump was at least right when he said the UK Parliament should be debating more important matters such as the economy. But clearly the SNP don't want that. With the UK economy continuing to do better than most others, with employment rising, with average pay rising above inflation and the price of oil dropping to below $30 a barrel, the benefit of remaining part of the UK is clearer than ever. Rather than talk about that, far better to express a bit more moral outrage against something and draw attention away from the real issues of the day.

  9. Why do so many people like having a go at John Hughes, our most successful manager, at any given opportunity ? These same people are praising him up when things are going well but are so quick to chastise him the moment he steps what they think is out of line or the Team has a blip.

  10. I would happily take him back but only if he was willing to commit to an eighteen month or two and a half year deal. If it's a matter of a stop gap signing again until May with his agent then punting him off to the highest bidder then no thanks. We need a bit of continuity especially in forward positions.

  11. Setting of a flare is regarded as being "passionate" now is It? Maybe the bright sparks who throw coins are just showing passion. I'm not that old. I enjoy having a sing, jumping up and down, shouting, chanting. Like the drums etc. And true maybe you can move away from someone wielding a flare. - All well and good until he decides to throw it. Or panics because the stewards pick him out and launch it. Oh what's that, he's not the quarter back he imagines himself to be and has a pathetic attempt. It scones you in the eye. (no worries specsavers sponsor the refs so they'll do you a deal on glass replacements). Of course it's no bother because the lads were just having a laugh and enhancing the fan "culture" with their passion. Because them in Europe do it, so we have to copy them! Jeez.

  12. Shortly ago Sturgeon was also banging on about wanting ALL parts of the UK to vote to leave the EU before such a decision could be binding. So presumably she would be just as adamant that ALL parts of Scotland must vote to leave the UK before any decision of that nature could also become binding? And now we seem to have Jum "persecute all pro-Union businesses" Sullurs breaking ranks with the rest of the separatist lobby and demanding that we leave the EU. Let's face it, Sturgeon and her chums quite simply say whatever they think they need to say to con people into supporting them or to fabricate their latest grievance. As a result, the SNP have plunged a perfectly civilised society into a mire of division and resentment. What also alarms me is that, for them to have gained their current level of support, more people than I thought are clearly unable to understand even the basics of the issues. But let's imagine that the SNP did call another Separation Referendum on the basis of a majority of Scottish voters opting to stay in the EU as against a small overall "OUT" majority across the entire constitutional entity which really matters here, the United Kingdom . (I actually have a hunch that the SNP's enthusiasm for Europe is less a matter of conviction but more the opportunist spotting of a possible source of grievancemongering, but never mind). Anyway, let's also imagine that this developed into the ultimate nightmare scenario. Despite ongoing problems over currency, foreign policy, defence and God knows what else they were unable to provide answers for pre-September 2014 - PLUS the now suddenly disowned panacea which "was" Scotland's Oil having gone t!tsup - they actually got the single, slender Yes majority which is all they need to damn us all for all time. By now Britain has left the EU, so Scotland becomes a new applicant. IF they did get Scotland into the EU, the situation is now a total pantomime. Here would be a tiny EU exclave/appendage, with a basketcase oil industry and using the bloody Euro which has just one border. And that's with a major world player with 11 times its population which Scotland - despite generations of Anglophobic rubbishing from the SNP - now desperately needs to be its main trading partner, but the said world player is no longer in the EU and uses the pound. Border controls, foreign exchange controls, trade tarrifs, an obligation to follow EU rules not designed for non-EU trade, no benefits for Scots staying south of Gretna etc etc. And does anyone REALLY think that the non-EU UKcontinuing would give a toss about Scotland if Oor Jock was sadly out of step with it? I can, of course, already hear the Nats among us chuntering "Project Fear!" but sorry chaps. It's time you woke up to the fact that you can't simply add the several inconvenient truths of this debate to the SNP Handbook of Grudgery. You are running out of people daft enough to be conned by this nonsense. A similar situation would also apply at the frontier between Ireland and Northern Ireland, but here NI would have the advantage of being part of the much larger UKcontinuing so it's that member of the Arc Of Prosperity which is Ireland which would would suffer, albeit rather less than Scotland. However, there is one part of DD's post that I just can't agree with - "Ms Sturgeon's persistence in trying to force the will of minorities over the will of the majority is really getting tiresome." DD... it's not GETTING tiresome. It's been a complete pain in the backside for years!!

  14. Would love to see that.... but Rotherham are a big side compared to us playing in a much higher quality league with better facilities... could never of seen it happen them sending him back this way for development unless it was to Celtic really. Plus I would imagine they would be looking for a club to fully cover wages which we couldn't do.

  20. Notice in that article, not one of the quotes from Hughes mentions Ofere by name. Could well just be a case of the Sun putting two and two together. And is anyone else bored of Mahonio's made up transfer rumours? It's cringeworthy stuff.

We are well aware that pastry encased meat and gravy has few health giving qualities. All the more reason why the experience should be as pleasurable as possible.

  27. Hmmmm just don't think that's our way tho. If my boss criticised me in the press like that I doubt I'd be very happy. Bughtmaster I don't think I'm very critical of the manager at all tbh. However, as a healthcare professional I think what he said could be dangerous practice and worse when done in public. I do feel I'm entitled to express my personal views on a fans forum.

  30. Personally. I don't see why such a huge fuss has suddenly been kicked up. Pyro has always been here. I know how dangerous flares can be - but I think the whole anti-pyro thing in Britain is ridiculous. Fan culture in Britain is quite frankly *****. And that's because there's always some boring sod complaining about something. Instead of the out-right criminalization, I think the SFA/FA and clubs should embrace atmopshere and getting people in. Do you remember our game against Dundee when we got promoted? Or the atmosphere at derbies? I think the club should try get that every game. And every club. And the FA/SFA - even Sky! Football is for the fans. So clubs need to work with them. Look at other countries - they embrace their Ultras. Even Celtic, who don't particularly like the Green Bridage embrace them. IMO more needs to be done to add standing sections into grounds. But getting onto the point of Pyro. I simply think people just need to stop moaning. If you don't like Pyro don't go near it. Just stand back from the lads who will obviously let them off, or if you see that they're getting let off just move away until it's over or cover your mouth with your shirt. People in other countries can do that, why can't we here? British fan culture is horrendous compared to other countries and nothing is done to change that. All we have is corporate greed and higher-up people completely disconnected from normal people. tl:dr - stop moaning.

    • Montrose 0-0 Inverness CT - Play Off 1st Leg
      FULL TIME: 0-0

All to play for on Saturday, but don't hold your breath...

However, if we continue like this, it will be our final game this season.

Best performer for us was Samson Lawal, the only bright spark on the field.

Alloa 2-2 Hamilton was the other semi-final score tonight. On this evidence, I doubt either side will be quaking in their boots.

    • Inverness CT 3-1 Morton - Report
It was a lovely evening for a game of football, what could possibly go wrong? Well, what did go wrong was Queen's Park beat an understrength Airdrie 2-0 at Hampden, therefore despite beating Morton 3-1, Inverness head for the play-offs. Morgan Boyes opened the scoring with a thumping volley after half an hour. Kirk Broadfoot benefited from slack defending to level before the break then proceeded to earn the wrath of the home support with an embarrassing celebration in front of the North Stand. Cammy Harper relieved Billy Mckay of penalty kick duties and duly slotted home from the spot ten minutes after the break. The scoring was completed just after the hour when Sean McAllister drilled home into the bottom corner. Robbie Muirhead had been sent off for simulation then taking a wee fit to himself and was promptly sent off after 58 minutes just after Harper had knocked in his penalty kick, probably aggrieved that he never earned a spot kick for his dramatic dive.

Well, where do you start. It was clear from the begining of the season that something was wrong. Poor signings, dismal performances in the League Cup followed by an abysmal start to the League campaign saw Billy Dodds removed from his position after winning one point in the first six Championship fixtures and replaced by a man with no track record as a manager. A sort of publicity stunt if you like. After the initial new manager bounce wore off, we found ourselves little better off with Big Dunc than we were with wee Billy. We did claw ourselves up to the coat tails of others but the most damning part of our season has been our inability to score goals, especially at home. Only already relegated Arbroath are worse than us. Our team is now full of mercenaries, loan players with no affiliation to our Highland pedigree and many fans have tagged us as being the worst squad ever in our short history. Where are the Golabeck's, Tokeley's, Wilson's..... Much of this can be attributed to our lack of financial nous in the boardroom, failed ventures and now the begging bowls are being put in place to save our club. Having drawn at Dunfermline last week thanks to Aribim Pepple's first goal for the club combined with Billy Mckay's penalty miss, it's now out of our own hands. LAST SIX: D L  W W L  D

    • Dunfermline 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
Out of our hands now: It ended in disappointment for the 319 visiting fans with news that Queens Park had hammered Arbroath 0-5. To rub salt into the wounds, Sheridan and Welsh were amongst the scorers. It's out of our hands now, but it's a must win next Friday and hope Queens Park falter.  Inverness play Morton and Queens play Airdrie. A draw might be enough, but it's a long shot.

I'm not convinced that Billy Mckay was the right man to be taking that penalty, his second failure from the spot in successive games against the Pars.

    • Dunfermline Ath -V- Inverness CT - Preview
Aaron Doran looks likely to have pulled on the Caley Jags strip for the last time after limping off against Raith Rovers last Friday. Sean McAllister returning was a bonus though but the mystery deepens as to why Roddy MacGregor, Austin Samuels and Nikola Ujdur are not featuring either on the injury list or the team list. Baffling to be honest as Roddy has the midfield attributes required, Austin has the speed and potential and Nikola in my opinion, if fit, would be my first choice on the team sheet. Are these guys on the way out? Add to that seven or eight loan players, then next season will see a massive restructure and rebuild at the Caledonian Stadium. I imagine the board members are squirming in their seats like Angela van den Bogerd at a Post Office inquiry.
