  1. As far as I am concerned Ridgers has been our Player of the Season BUT he fecked up the first two goals and the defence clearly lost concentration and positioning for all three goals. And then Oakley should have netted a hat-trick. Robbo cant give allowances for individual mistakes. We are having a poor season albeit I bet that most of us would have taken our league position and our points tally in pre-season. I recall some positive comments about our squad at the start of the season as well. It is probably as much bad misfortune that we have had more than our share of injuries and some unforeseen losses. It is always a gamble going for the cheaper option of bringing in potential with a history of injuries. I also feel that the "unbeaten run" nonsense was having a negative effect and lets hope that getting the monkey off our back will pay dividends. I would suspect that we had two "goals" at the start of the season - to avoid relegation and to bring back some financial stability. Watching the purse strings and improving is evidently a very difficult task. We have brought in a management team who have been tasked with balancing the finances. That must be both understandable but very frustrating for Robbo. I was disappointed but not surprised that he kept the yoof on the bench yesterday BUT here are my suggested New Year Resolutions. Ditch the "hangers-on" (There must be spondoolachs for OFW ?) - take an increasing risk on blooding some of the Under 18's and look at spending a bit more cash on two journeymen - one with some midfield panache and one with a striking record.

  2. All the talk of quitting watching, not renewing season tickets after first defeat - we were poor at times but not awful- surely this is the time to get behind the team .Stopping supporting - its a vicious circle- less crowds less income less quality players etc. etc.

  3. Massively disappointing result but it might almost be a good thing. This unbeaten run malarky has disguised the fact we have been an absolute gang for weeks now. We really don't have much beyond that team which started yesterday and it's starting to tell. Lovely ball through from Polworth to Walsh and a fine finish across the keeper. Awful defending from Mckay for the first Rudden goal. It's almost as if someone playing as ICT on FIFA suddenly loses their controls connection with the PS4 as he just stops dead and doesn't even bother trying to challenge for the ball. As if that wasn't bad enough Rooney then follows it up by getting distracted by a shiny object in the North Stand and forgets to challenge Rudden for the ball and let him ghost past before finishing well past Ridgers. Perhaps the keeper should have done better but it was still good play from the Falkirk striker. Thought we had a decent claim for a penalty after that. Oakley I think was pulled down in the box. Referee gave a free kick but the foul definitely looked to continue into the penalty area. Second half was typical of our season. Mostly shade possession but ultimately do very little with it. Walsh sent a few good crosses in from the left but aside from that we didn't really look like we were going to take the three points. That said Oakley gave us hope when he stooped to steer in a header from a few yards out. Chalmers came closest when he curled a shot towards goal from about 20 yards out which clipped the roof of the net. But more poor defending right at the end gave Falkirk the winner. This time Donaldson seemed to doze off the let his man steal in to seal the three points. There was a massive difference between Falkirk back in August (?) and the one we saw yesterday. MacKinnon is starting to turn them around and despite their bad cup result last weekend they have to imagine they will start to pull away from the bottom of the league. Meanwhile, for us, it's a case of some old. A lack of real creativity in midfield, lack of pace in wide areas and no real threat up front. What's more concerning now though is that our previously settled defence is starting to creak a bit. Granted we are not playing with a left back at the moment but it's still alarming how bad we were at the back yesterday. Play that badly again on Friday against Ayr and Shankland will have a field day...

  4. I don't like hearing the "I'm done" talk...but that's the growing reality and I'm starting to see/hear it from people who would be considered the staunchest of fans. These are not people having a knee-jerk reaction to a bad game/spell or even a bad season...these are people who feel they are losing their affinity with ICTFC. How do I know that? Because I've engaged with them, I've asked them and I feel the same way as them. If someone is set to walk away then what do they care about the effects of dwindling crowds and finances?...they won't be there, it won't affect them...and they are already feeling like sitting at home on a Saturday (or a Friday, or Tuesday, maybe a Monday and sometimes a Sunday if it's a really big game) is better than the football. We can dismiss their views, turn on them, tell them they aren't proper fans if they walk away etc...but what good does that do? These are people right at the end of their tether and it's not going to take much to push a lot of them beyond the point by which they can be brought back. We are at the stage where it doesn't matter two fecks who broke it, how or why...it only matters that it gets fixed...and asap.

  5. With that we take the most important point. Our finances and squad show the boards expectations. We are running a team we can afford to keep in the championship. If we lucked out and went up im sure the board would be over the moon but i really dont think any expectation of that is being placed on that. So if anyone is expecting anything more tha a signing with the wage freed up by Ricky leaving, i'd think again.

  6. That was a hard one to take. We dominated for much of the game, but the hard truth is that very poor defending gifted them 3 chances which they efficiently put away whilst we created several decent chances which we should have done better with. There were at least 3 missed chances which certainly should have been put away. A bit more sharpness in front of goal and concentration at the back and we could have romped that. I felt McCart was excellent and that Polworth played better than I have seen him play all season. I didn't think Falkirk looked like a bottom of the table team (in fact, they aren't bottom any more!). They worked hard as a unit and were noticeably quicker than us getting back behind the ball after attacks had broken down. In Zac Rudden I think they have found a striker who will help them get comfortably mid table before long. They have taken 7 points from their last 3 games which is more than any other side in the division. The referee didn't help either. Whilst we were trying to play football, Falkirk were trying to stop us by fair means or foul. How the officials failed to notice all the holding Harrison and Brough were doing is beyond me. BBC Stats show 14 fouls against us and only 7 against Falkirk. It's a joke. At the end you could see the frustration of everything getting to the players and that probably led to the sucker punch at the end. All very disappointing but I am not as gloomy as many on here. There were enough positives there to make me think that when things click, there is a big league win in this side sometime soon. Hopefully the frustration and disappointment of today will get taken out on Edinburgh City on Tuesday evening and we'll kick on from there.

  7. It's a relief in a way that the unbeaten run is over as it had been masking a level of mediocrity all season. Not the worst we have played but the finishing, or lack of it, was as dire as ever. To lose at home after taking an early lead against the second worst team in the league tells it's own story. Somehow or other, we are clinging on to the final promotion play off spot but, if nothing changes, that will surely not be the case for much longer and a third successive season in the Championship, this time with no parachute playment, will be inevitable. I appreciate that things are hugely stretched from a financial point of view but, if the current regime have any ambition at all, resourses will have to be found from somewhere to strengthen the squad during the January transfer window. The season is still salvageable but not with the current squad of players.

  8. We need to ditch the craic about giving up and selling season tickets etc. Downward spiral then of dwindling crowd, less finances available, better players get enticed away and we can’t afford to replace..... I missed the game yesterday tbf but I’ve witnessed some sh1te in my time. What else you gonna do on a Saturday? Boozer? Dingwall? I’ve gone too far..... Looking out extra layers for Tuesday already! 10. We made a pitiful wage offer that even Ayr were able to beat same as we did with Simon Murray previous season! Our record for front players is shocking no had a good 1 since Storey who we also could've brought in in place of White tho Oakleys got potential tbf!

  11. Rooney and Mckay both need to better for the first two. Ridgers has to come claim the first inside the six yard box and for me has to do better with the second too. Joe Chalmers not street wise enough giving the ball straight back for the quick free kick at the second. Coll beaten too easily for the 3rd too. Contact begun outside of box for oakley foul so fair decision for me. I dont buy the lets blame the ref game today we conceded 3 to a side who were over the moon to get a point never mind the 3.

  12. It is a league they have been sent a table on a couple of occasions for the 'progressive' teams. For some reason they never update them and make the leagues available publically the same thing happened last two years for the under 17s league. The games against elite sides are friendlies only and dount count towards the league. The league doesnt mean any change in status for level if won it.

  13. Interesting that not once in this thread, anyone brings up the referee...In all fairness, we were crap in the first half, but in the second we had picked it up very well, and shouldve won it. But the referee turning blind eyes to very obvious penalties and a corner, when beardy slid behind the line, ball in hand (look at the highlights, black and white, ref shouldve done something) really cost us a draw (and dare I say it, a win). Either way, terrible game, just nursing my knuckle after punching the gate when venting my anger (which I am rather glad I did, because I doubt I could've held it in after two Falkirk fans started being d*cks about it later on, in the subway by Rose Street). I'm not saying that we were absolutely insane, but, we were better than we are most weeks...

  14. The previous board and there ridiculous loyalty to Foran when it was clear before xmas he'd lost the dressing room and couldn't run a bath are totally to blame! Tho some deluded punters on here will no doubt blame yogi

  16. Totally agree : the speed at which we fell (and there's no realistic sign of it improving any time soon) is a disgrace. Not sure who is to blame, but we have come from a solid top league team (and worthy cup winners) to a mid table Championship team going nowhere fast.

  17. The squad is down to the bare bones ,how has this been allowed to happen . All very well getting rid of players who were apparently big earners but not replacing them has now come back to kick us in the balls. Appreciate the finances are tight but trying to mount a promotion challenge with a first team squad of barely 16 players is a big ask for any manager.

  18. Absolutely agree , who in the right mind would pay good money to see that. This present lot must have to go down as being one of the poorest in our short history. The unbeaten run had to end some time but against the bottom club who had already settled for a draw once we had levelled ,is a total choker. Whats more concerning is that we are only one more injury or suspension from only having 11 first team players to pick from, so it doesn't matter how bad they are they are ,they are guaranteed a start the following week. No competition for places and it shows in the lacklustre performances .

  19. What a shambles of a team. We seem to have no desire, no drive. If we played like we did for the first goal we would blow teams away. Quick slick passing and into a dangerous position in the blink of a eye, and goal, then we slip back into our slow ponderous style, passing it back and forth across the back line. If we needed a win, why do we play with two defensive midfielders and one striker? So much for Robbo saying he would throw the youngsters in, they couldn't play any worse than this lot. We made the bottom club look good.

  20. Absolute shambles could say more but just a waste of time. I am at a state were I would sell my season ticket but I don't think anyone would want it

  21. Personally, I'm so sick of this constant and unending talk of 'the board' on here. I support my team, have since I was young and always will. As long as nothing is going wrong financially, I care not one jot who the board are or how/what they communicate with me. I just want them to pick the correct manager, support him as well as they can within budget, and that’s pretty much it. The only real disconnect I have with the club at the moment is with this site, and the few helmets who take every opportunity to bleat on about perceived issues with the board and seem to think they’re speaking for us all. I go to games, and it’s good crack watching the team (well sometimes…) and seeing folk I know, few beers etc. Come on here however, and it’s always the same few folk constantly whining, and for a fans forum it doesn’t reflect any actual match going fans I know or have met. Personally, I have no interest in events like this or anything to do with our supporters’ group solely because of individual posters on here who seem to be running or involved with these things (see ridiculous SLO debacle for reference). It’s very clear they have personal issues with those running the club, and seem hell bent on proving points and highlighting any negativity to further their own egos over and above actually supporting the club. You can say that events like this are not attended because of a disconnect with those running the club, but maybe the reason fans don’t turn up is because a lot of us are just happy to go to games and have no idea what it is you guys actually want? That’s the case for me anyway, it’s not apathy, I just find this all incredibly boring. I’m even bored with my own post here, this is what CTO has driven me to and I feel ashamed.

  23. I cannot wait until the season ends so I can start to work out how to spend my £300 that I won't be wasting on a useless shower of clowns that have no interest in football and couldn't care less about winning. Time to focus on other non stressful activities. Time to give up

  24. listen up folks Oakley 7 league starts 4 goals White 8 league starts 4 goals Anyone with any knowledge of football will know these stats are very good. Stop blaming the strikers and look at the other end of the park and maybe you will find where we need to improve.

  25. A good number of people had a hand in breaking it and over a number of seasons now. If it is to be fixed, and I believe it can, it needs a good number of people, from the top down, communicating with each other positively and pulling once more in the same direction whatever their past differences may have been.

    • Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report
Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.

The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!

    • Queens Park 0-1 Inverness CT - Report
Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.

    • Inverness CT 2-1 Arbroath - Report
Smokies Kippered: On a blustery day more akin to AA Milne and Winnie the Pooh, Arbroath and Inverness battled it out to see who would get the final nails hammered into their coffins. Arbroath were in the last chance snug in the last chance saloon, whilst Inverness have one foot in the grave. I don't believe it! Arbroath tried everything, they even took their own wind with them. However, they had Murray, Bird and Slater on from the start but O'Brien missed out. Zak Delaney also started for the Red Lichties. A bright opening spell saw Alex Samuel denied twice inside five minutes. Once by a combination of Max Boruc and his crossbar, the second by Boruc on his own as Samuel got his shot away from inside the box. Wallace Duffy got the goal we deserved on the interval as he drove across the keeper from the right side of the box to put us in ahead at the break. Leighton McIntosh restored parity on the hour as he drilled home from eighteen yards, but Alex Samuel won the points with a late strike to all but relegate ten man Arbroath who had Ricky Little sent off.
