I noticed in yesterdays Courier that Tel said we'd had a few enquiries about McKay from a couple of Russian clubs, but they were derisory offers.

 

If he was to go before the window closes (hope he doesn't obviously) how much d'you think we'd get for him?

Clubs like ours can get into real trouble by having ideas above their station.  We don't need top 6 finishes to survive on the current business model, and we certainly don't need the financial burden of qualifying for Europe.  We could get a striker on a lower wage who is capable of ensuring we survive in the top flight and the money saved could be used for other things.

Totally agree with CaleyD here! Would be so unfair of the club to put a big price on his head when he's done so much for us. Europe would be a step too far for us anyway being a small spfl club. If he goes we can easily use the money for other things as already stated.

If we freed up Billy's wages and sold him for £50k we could maybe afford to get Barrowman back. Might surprise our opponents, nobody would expect it.

Why not just give him to Hearts to get them out of trouble? Maybe we could get Gary Glen to replace him? Or maybe spend a bit more for a Stuart Duff return?

Im quite embarassed we are hanging onto a player that should be at a bigger club like Hearts or Dunfermline. He is desperate to go, so let us get shot of him asap.

I have heard that Brora Rangers are about to offer him a contract, he will get a full time job with the sponsors.
Brora reckon they could win the Highland League with him, and are hoping all the ex ICT players on their books will swing his decision.

If Rooney goes to Chelsea then we should be offering Billy to fill the void, he would be better off there. Its quite selfish of him as a player to come out on a Sat, score goals and take wages when all the time trying to get us into a league place which will cripple the club if we ever had the misfortune to play in Europe - and dont start me on the cups and the expense he is going to cause us fans by helping win games.

 

If anything he should be first out the door followed by all the rest of these glory seekers at the club, coming here, doing their best and trying to bring success - lets get Tade, Gillet & Barrowman back - players who we could be proud of...............

Maybe we should go a step further and give any club wanting to aquire Billy a modest inducement to make sure he is not about to put us in the perilous position of risking European football.

In retrospect thank feck he only bagged a brace yesterday as if he had netted 5 or 6 as he could have it would really have brought last minute interest. I suspect unfortunately that there is a group of scouts watching if he develops in areas other than effort and an eye fer goals. And thank feck in some ways that he ain't got a player in the Agadstein role beside him regularly as Isuspect that would give him the extra freedom to be and look a lot better.

He's not the biggest physically but he's certainly one of our hardest working players ever! Personally think with his scoring rate we've little to complain about.
