Robbo

He’s been on Gardening Leave from the club, just announced today. He’s looking for a new challenge after his employment ends next month. So we’ve been paying him then?

He was interviewed in the Edinburgh Local rag.

Of course he is, jobs for the boys. Milk the club for all they can. We supported him through a difficult time and he repayed us by stealing a wage and hopping over to Victoria Park every chance he could, even if we were playing.

Apparently great at cutting the grass by the IRA though 👍

Have we stopped paying Hughes and Foran yet?!

Yes, but you should see their gardens!

It beggars belief that he is still on the payroll.
You got to wonder what other unknown secrets lie in between the walls of the dump?

The big question is why did the club put him on gardening leave?

We were constantly told he was doing important work with various things including the new football development up by the IRA.  Even if he wasn't doing that then even if he was just answering phones or serving in the shop we could/would have got some value out of him.

And to think that some people were using his departure to defend the current regime for sensible cost cutting.

When you terminate someone’s employment, you absolutely do not want them hanging around like a bad smell.

The duration of it shocks me though, 7 months to the day. This seems unlikely to have been his contractual notice period, so either it was higher and they negotiated a compromise, or the club offered more than the contractual minimum, but I can’t think why they would do that when the club was short of money. All very odd and a question that should be asked at the next opportunity.

Gardiner et al clearly have a degree of business kudos. Pity it's all about lining the pockets of his mates like Robbo!!

Shame none of it is in the interests of 'standard' ICT employees or for the good of ICT.

Pure poisonous ideology on his / their behalf.

The current management team did not want a sporting director making decisions about the signing of players etc, so he was removed so DF and GB could make those decisions themselves.

The chairman writes of 'unity' and 'continued and valued support', yet the club constantly conducts itself in a secretive manner and withholds simple information, such as JR's gardening leave - which we later find out about anyway via an Edinburgh news article!?!

What is shocking in every action/inaction/decisions the club takes is the complete disdain it has for its own fans! We're mugs!!

And I believe we have been paying Barry Wilson as well

What’s the issue here exactly? For months the fans were moaning he was at the club. They finally done what you wanted and you’re shocked we couldn’t do it for free?

But they didn't terminate his contract.  They continued to pay it while he was off doing other things.

They could have just run it down and told him it would be reviewed nearer it's expiry point.  The same as they have done with players.  Imagine every player who wasn't going to be given a contract renewal was allowed to just head off on gardening leave for the last 7 months of their deal?

Pretty sure he is an employee with a normal employment contract and a notice period, not someone on a fixed term contract like a player.

So Robbo was getting paid by the club while they spent most of his time at the Global Staduim working for the media or taking in the County games?

Mind boggling. ICT definitely a club like no other 🥹

Some of the revelations that are coming out now are hard to believe to be fair

A friend of Robbo's was telling me a few week's back that he was laughing at the fact ICT were paying him for doing nothing. I thought he was talking past tense, clearly not!
