What’s your prediction for our final league place?

You can’t set up a poll and then not vote!

I’ve went for first, it’s risky to go in thinking we’ll win the league but I’ve got a good feeling about this season.

I don’t think I’ve ever went into a season thinking we’ll win it before so it’s a strange feeling to have.

I was just giving it some thought! Have now voted, 2nd place. To finish 1st we need to win the league by >5 points and the points deduction could prove decisive. We also need a striker or two and it remains to be seen who we get and when.

Disappointed in the lack of an option for invincibles to be honest. 1st will have to do.

With the golf season in full flow, tomorrow will be my first game of the new season. Was told by a couple of mates that we were poor defensively last week and 5-1 doesn’t suggest we’re were much better at the other end either.

Will have a punt after the kelty game but really should wait to vote until we sign our 2 marquee players before September 1st and transfer window is closed.

Right now I think we will finish 3rd. Going into the season with only Mckay realistically able to play up front is a concern. If we sign another striker or two and if one of them is Bavidge then I can see us right up there challenging for the title.

I never make predictions, and I never will…

I predicted you would come out with this one! 😄

1st would be nice but anywhere in the top 4, but as said above need to sort out defence and get a decent player up front.

Bavidge is here, get those predictions changed!

Would you look at that? 😉

Hmmm - tricky one.

I know where we're gonna be tomorrow night though - rock bottom!

I'm a bit concerned about all the high expectations for this season. We have come from a bad place, and whilst we are on the road to recovery, it will need a lot of hard graft to get back into the Championship. For me, the most important thing to happen this season will be things off the park. We need to develop a sustainable business model which will allow for longer term player contracts in the future with the potential for transfer income in due course.

Obviously it will be great if we can win promotion with the squad we have, but I think a solid mid-table finish will represent positive progress on our journey. We would then look to push onwards and upwards the following season when we would probably have a more solid foundation to ensure we don't go straight back down again.

I've predicted we will finish 4th, which, at the time of writing, is lower than everyone else has predicted. If it turns out I have been too pessimistic, then I will be delighted, but if it turns out most people have been too optimistic and we don't win the league or gain promotion via the playoffs, it would not be good for the club if it was generally regarded as a failure

We must have, by far, the biggest wage bill in this league and will be making a loss of hundreds of thousands of pounds this season. We have players all our rivals would kill to have. Savage is funding this to get us to where we can be sustainable as a full time club. Much as we all love Kells just now, the harsh truth is that if he doesn’t get us promoted this season he has failed.

Based on the signings we've made, I am sticking to my usual philosophy (I do this with Scotland rugby and football teams too, even when playing top tier nations 🤣) and being quietly optional we are going to have a successful season, I don't see any reason to change my philosophy so either I'm stubborn or very optimistic 🤣, I'll let you guys choose 😁.

I know we start off on -5 btw but I'm taking into account that everyone can beat each other in this league, I even include Accies in this due to the fact we did exactly that last season despite everything thrown at us 🤔.

That pretty well sums up my feelings. Alan Savage isn't going to finance the club forever, and it is therefore imperative that some other investors come in. (I am sure that he will be working on that.)

I think that a playoff spot is a reasonable aspiration. Someone may well run away with the league, but I don't think it will be us.

But of course I am looking forward to every minute of a season that we very nearly didn't see!

Pessimists are seldom disappointed.

I’ve done with third as we will have a target on our back as we will be seen as the team to beat, along with the five point penalty.

I think Queen of the South, Cove and Alloa will be competitive this season and if we get above all of them we won’t be far away.

The key thing is that we get behind Kell and the players regardless of how the first few games go. It it still largely a young squad supported by a core of experienced players.

I’m really looking forward to this afternoon.

Overly pessimistic. Give the guy a chance. It's the first game of the season, yet the death penalty is being prepared.

My Christmas will be ruined if all the pipes burst at the end of December. I'm not going to be concentrating on that, even though it could happen.

Sounds a lot like the kind of thinking that put us where we are now.

That's your opinion and you are entitled to it. But it does not make it a fact.

Time is the factor that determines whether it becomes a fact or not! Until then it remains an opinion.

You're going to need to explain that one for me, please.
