Just in from the game and wow Rangers should feel relieved with a point. We played absolutely brilliantly from the first minute to the last and we really showed that we were there not just to get a point but to try and get all three. We passed the ball brilliantly and at times it was hard to tell that we were the promoted team and that they were the Scottish Champions. Not one player let themselves down and i hate picking out one player for particular praise but young Shinnie at left back...take a bow. I can't recall one time in the entire match where Davis, first half, or Naismith in the second half took him on and got past him. He looked so comfortable and his distribution was brilliant. Munro and Tokely defended brilliantly and that dreaded long ball didn't appear at any stage in the afternoon. I could go on singing the praises of the team all night! Terry and Mo are clearly building something special at our club and it's brilliant to be a part of it. The support this afternoon was brilliant with everyone joining in the singing and banter. The players definitely respond to that and it was great to see the players come to the fans at the end of the game and show appreciation for the support they received. Great point and in my view we were very unlucky not to get all three. Fantastic game.6 points

Thought this needed a thread of its own. Alex McLeods comment re the above being a reason for fans staying away from Old Firm fixtures is, to my mind, an anachronism. I have attended many matches in Glasgow throughout ICTs history ( hardly missed any probably) and have never found this to be the case. On the contrary, especially at Parkhead, the pre-match banter is excellent and hostelries are mostly very accommodating. Part of this is probably down to the fact that we are not seen as a threat to their lofty status ( the facts and figures may prove otherwise). The downsides for me are the way we are corralled into a corner, kept back after the game and overcharged for the privilege. But Rangers and Celtic both have fantastic stadiums and the fixtures have never lost their gloss for me. Getting one over these guys has you on a high for weeks. The animals can fight amongst themselves as much as they want...........it doesn't bother me........and they never have. My car has never been touched and, I am sure that, even if Mantis took his, it would remain likewise. Indeed, now I come to think of it, the only things that have been shouted at me after a game are "well done lads" or " you deserved that". It is a shame that our attendance has dwindled so much over the years............the team deserve a better support when they are down there. The quite pathetic levels attending now must be for a whole range of reasons. So what are they? Lets do a survey? I can assure you that if you are staying away for fear of trouble then you are being misled.1 point

They're supposed to be at a chippy in Auchterarder. I hope Terry is reading them the riot act for being out of position :angry:1 point

Excellent call on Jim Traynor's "Your Call" from Jimmy in Inverness, who said everything I was wanting to say on that programme, but couldn't get through. He was absolutely right to suggest that Walter never gave ICT any credit for their performance today - also that the pressure the OF put the refs under has become totally unacceptable. Also Traynor and the Beeb seem to forget that their programme is broadcast the length and breadth of Scotland and not everyone is obsessed with what happens in Weegieland. Does anyone know who "Jimmy" in Inverness is?1 point

I've always thought 'what are you on about?' when folk have said to me 'I never go to Parkhead/Ibrox, it's a horrible place and overall a horrible day out'. I really enjoy going there and have never seen/heard any trouble any time I've been there. They can sing all the rubbish they want - It isn't directed at me and I'm not offended by it as a result. Outside the stadium before and after, none of the home fans even look twice at you and just bustle about like any other fans would outside their stadium. The stewards inside are quite lenient (not suprising with it being an OF stadium) and the catering is usually really good.1 point

For me the location is fine. Yes it's a 20 min walk from town but what stadium in the country isn't. Its a fair distance from Glasgow city centre to Ibrox, Parkhead, Partick etc. Its a good 20 mins walk from Dundee centre to either of the two stadiums there. McDairmid is over two miles from the centre of Perth. Same goes for Edinburgh and Aberdeen and most other places I've been. The difference with all of them is that over time houses, shops and pubs have been built around the stadia. That could well happen at Longman in the future. The Bught is nearly as far in the opposite direction from the centre and I think it would be very difficult to relocate to there without building a complex that can be used by the community as thats who the parks belong to. I think, in time, there will be developments around the Longman that will enhance what we have but if we could rebuild there I'd like to see a stadium like THIS ONE 15,000 comfy seats, fully enclosed with training facilities, tennis courts and an hotel. And its only about twenty minute walk from the train station. Finally, neither the stadium nor the name nor the strip keep people away. It takes years, and some success, for any club to build a fanbase. We are slowly increasing numbers and will continue to do so as time goes on. Our averages are on a par with others by population and the current financial climate is not helping any clubs. The rebel excuse, the stadium location and any other excuse can be used to justify low numbers but the bottom line is people dont have the spare cash any more and many other things take priority on a saturday afternoon.1 point

To be frank, I suspect that Terry is more noted south of the border for his distinctly unsuccessful spell in charge of Brentford and Mo for his even less successful stint at the helm of Swindon than for their recent success with ICT.1 point

Apologies for starting this thread. When I watched the programme last week they said Adam would be in the studio. Closing it now. And cheers for the red dot. Baaaaaaa0 points

Unfortunate, but as long as these old dinosaurs didn't manage to persuade you that their view was ever a significant problem after the legalities got sorted out in 1995, no harm will have been done, so just continue to enjoy supporting SPL football in Inverness. (And hopefully we can avoid yet another round of discussion here on the old myth which keeps resurfacing on this forum.)-1 points
