  1. Rather than wasting cash on 'squad' players who are no better than what we have right now, we should be using the cash to keep Rooney on a long term deal. If we need to fill the bench, give some youth players a chance. If we cant get Rooney on a long term deal though, perhaps we have to consider what fee we can get in Jan (controverisal I know) and look towards Dundee & Griffiths - although we may not be able to afford him & compete with the bigger clubs that will circle, but retaining Rooney for the next few years should be top priority. Any gaps in the squad we should look to bring in loans from elsewhere, look at Motherwell with Blackman etc - consolidation this year is the key and retaining SPL status which Rooney will greatly help with rather than 'splashing cash' on wages/fees for bit part bench warmers.

  4. I supported Rangers - I got the tattoo as a wind up. But to me the big difference is that I actually put aside the old days and followed my local team - and I am now truly "ICT till I die". Feck me - Forest and County - what a feckin double !!

  5. Those bidding on such items are likely to be attracted to the "signed" aspect of it and perhaps willing to pay a little more than normal due to the cause it is raising money for. How the Poppy has been applied will make little or no difference in the grand scheme of things and it doesn't make sense to reduce the amount raised by increasing the cost of the application....every penny spent up front is a penny less going to where it is needed.

  9. someone on the supporters bus was saying he was asking for too much money, which seems weird considering he is injury prone and been without a club for a while now. The same guy said there was a wolves scout at the accies game looking at two of our players who i would suspect to be rooney, ross or hayes. I woudln't mind seeing gregory tade in a caley strip although i can't see it happening as we rarely go for the obviously choice. I wouldn quite like if we were to extend mccanns loan and possibly get him on a pre-contract but if not we will need to sign a right back ASAP

  11. I noticed that Celtic didn't wear there hoops yesterday but wore there away strip for some reason , I wonder if it was to appease the green brigade as they didn't want poppies on the hoops ? maybe just maybe they wore their away kit because they were playing away? Why does there always have to be a conspiracy theory with Celtic? Why would they wear their away strip when it in no way clashes with St. Mirrens strip ? Do they wear it at Ibrox or Pittodrie etc. ? The conspiracy theories are always peddled by Celtic not about Celtic Forget what they wear elsewhere. Q. Do they normally wear their away strip at New St Mirren Park (and did they previously at Love Street)? A. Yes.

  12. No, but ICT once had an unreliable fridge that had to be scrapped.

  13. With such a small first team squad we can't afford to let anyone go in January, at least not without bringing in a suitable replacement. The squad may be small but we shouldn't panic buy just to increase squad size. Sanchez will hopefully get a chance this season, but even if not, he is still an adequate bench warmer, as harsh as that sounds, while hopefully still getting off the bench every now and then.

  14. As far as i'm aware he's been fit for months now - he's certainly been taking his place on the bench most weeks. As Div1309 says, he came off the bench at Easter Road and won the penalty but he hasn't featured since. The form of Nick Ross has been a real killer for Dani as he now finds himself 3rd choice behind Nick and Eric for the position of weedy floater behind the striker. We can't afford to have more than one of them on the pitch in such a physical league. He may get his chance later in the season. We certainly shouldn't let him go while our squad is so small.

  15. The only places in our squad that needs covered is attack and out on the wing. If we were to lose Rooney i don't think Sutherland would have enough experience to come in as a straight replacement. Also if we were to lose Johnny Hayes then i think we would really struggle creating as many chances as we do. I would take any of those three county players mentioned for improving the squad, most signings we make aren't expected to walk into the team anyway. If we had the choice though i'd rather secure our current players for another couple seasons instead of spending that money on new players. Overall i have no problems with our current squad and i think its the best team we've ever had.

  17. This is a joint venture among all SPL clubs. Each club provided one shirt to Poppy Scotland to be auctioned for funds. Poppy Scotland are the organisers of the auction. Not the clubs.

  18. Think you are right about that and I would prefer to see your selection than the suggested TB selection. I suspect that Foran is always so desperate to play, he makes light of his stomach muscle problem, but it is clearly affecting his play, and he should be rested. He could create serious long term problems if he insists on trying to play through the pain barrier.

  19. What a coincidence, both games being on a Tuesday, who would believe it. Seems you will all make it now then if the Scotland game is on another week altogether.
