  1. The new season kicks off today so lets show the SPL that we can behave ourselves on the away trips. No winding up of the Stewards and getting thrown out is allowed this season. Please - behave for the benefit of others and the club.

  2. It's only now that I've had a taste of the absolutely bogging wine that I bought there on opening day on Monday that I've been motivated to say something about Tesco Town's latest eponymous Superstore. Let's start with the shopping trip which, as a Morrisons shoppper, I only did to get the £10 discount on £30 of shopping. Over the four weeks this operates I'll take £120 worth of stuff for £80 and then return to Morrisons thank you very much. Basically the new Tesco is a big barn with very little to commend it and pretty modest looking stock levels and brand variety. Let's now move on to the absence of a cafe. Well, given the disgraceful state of their Inshes one, maybe they didn't dare commit the commercial suicide of another one on this site. At least that's one less injury inflicted on the good people of Inverness. As for the wine, well my general strategy is to top my £120 for £80 up with a stockpile of cheap El Plonko Tesco and fortunately the bogging stuff which I am currently consuming is only a quarter bottle of one of these well known brands who put all the crap of the day, especially esters which taste awful, into their plonk. I'm talking about the likes of Echo Falls, Chenet and also Gallo which I have the misfortune to be drinking at the moment. On the other hand they are capable of doing decent stuff for £4 a bottle which I will now be careful to get over the remaining three weeks. In conclusion, it's marginally worth shopping there for four weeks, counting up your bill carefully to make sure it's just over £30, in order to save £40 and then I'm off back to Morrisons like a shot. Roll on Asda which is even nearer to my doorstep and which might even have a decent cafe.

  3. That's a bit of an oxymoron isn't it? By playing Proctor we absolutely do deserve to be 2-0 down. If this new signing is any good that only leaves a good, physical, commanding centre back we'll need to replace Tokely. If Munro was told he wasn't wanted, then I guess I can only assume Tokely has compromising photo's of Tel, Mo, or the BoD because he sure ain't being paid because he's a good defender!

  5. A very dissapointing start to the season - but not without its positives. Positive points - Tansey looks very impressive, box to box, great passing, vision and was unlucky not to have a brace of goals. Foran worked his socks off and at some points was back defending, despite playing as a striker. Tade worked hard but seemed to be running on empty from the start - think some need to remember he has had no pre season and may take a few games to get into his stride. Johhny also looked lively but he needs to be put back onto the right hand side - its were he cause most danger. Negatives - Proctor - end of. He lost the runs he was meant to be tracking, which led to 2 goals, his clearences were poor and his distribution was non existent. The sooner Piermayr is in the team the better. Shinnie had a poor start, his first touches in paticular but i felt alongside Tansey he was starting to improve but when he got shoved onto the right wing he was a passenger for the rest of the game. Aldred had a great start but his form seemed to dip as the game went on. Gillet was always going to struggle against Humphrey but he allowed him too much space which made us vulnerable everytime they broke forward. Motherwell looked the part today. With the likes of Humphrey, Murphy, and Law in their team i think their fans can be expecting big things from them this season - and Lasley has a contender for goal of the season already. We are still short of players, fitness and experience of working this team together. With a bit of time and patience i think this time can hold its own.

  6. Think there's a lot of knee-jerk reaction to todays result....and still a bit of bitterness from those who seemed to be waiting for an opportunity to stick the knife in (again) about the loss of Munro and Duncan....move on people, all the bitching in the world isn't going to change things in that regard. I actually thought we played not too bad in spells today and our biggest problem was that we were a bit too stand offish when defending. The scoresheet might say 3-0 (and I know that's what counts) but I didn't witness a 3-0 performance from ICT. Hit the woodwork 3 times...on another day they would all have gone in and it would have been 3-3 and been a lot more representative of the match as a whole. Proctor didn't give a good showing, but don't think any of the rest of the team had (individual) bad games. The difference between the teams today was that one team knew each other and were used to playing together and the other seemed a little rusty at times. All in all, I saw nothing that can't be fixed. Give the guys a little time to gel as a team and I think we could be in for some very interesting and exciting football from ICT this season.

  10. I think this was the wrong move for Rooney. I think the fact that BC are looking to bring in a loan signing signals that they dont think Rooney is up to the task. I think he may well disappear into footballing obscurity now....time will tell. Personally....i didnt rate rooney as highly as everyone else. Take the penalties out of the equation, and how many goals did he score in open play last season?

  13. Do you really give a feck?!? Interest Try other football forum or huns website if you want to discuss Mcmoist..........the title of this thread is self explanatory I go away for a few weeks and come back to this drivel? No wonder I stopped posting on here. And here I thought we were a bunch of open minded civil people rather....also, if you happen to take a glance at the first post, then you will clearly see that it says "discuss ICT and other games here" So if you know the answer then say it, and if you don't I suggest you keep those fingers to yourself.

  16. I personally think the board should wait at least 3-6 months before entering into discussions with Terry and Mo about contract extensions We basically have a new untried team out their this season so surely waiting to see how good they gel should be the priority ,then providing the club is progressing sit down and talk money dougal

  18. Yeah, we do have a couple of glaring omissions in centre-back and defensive midfield. Munro and Duncan are the obvious candidates but, even if they had to go, they also had to be replaced. Cox won't play every game. Although I quite fancy Proctor to slot in at defensive midfield, given that Butcher has never played them there, I suspect he doesn't have the same feeling. It's still early days but we are lacking in a couple of positions pretty badly.

  19. I don't know. I don't mind contracts being awarded like that for players that produce the goods. All Tokely produces is conceded goals and penalties.
