Just back in from the game and WOW! We almost caught ourselves out a few times with silly balls back to Reguero (who's kicking was poor tonight) but going forward, we looked like Barcelona compared to Sevco. The movement from Shinnie, Doran and McKay in particular was very impressive and created havoc for Sevco's defence. Mention must also go to McKay. He maybe isn't the most talented footballer we have ever had but my goodness he works hard. He runs the channels, holds the ball up well and is playing with a real confidence. Get him finishing his chances and we have a top striker on our books. Jones and Draper once again dominated in the middle and really commanded the play (why did we ever want Black back?). The back four is really starting to gel and work well as a unit. Meekings started off poorly but much improved as the game went on. Garry Warren...what a signing he has been! Didn't give McCulloch a sniff at any time and led the defence in a way that we haven't had since Darren Dods or arguably better than we've ever had. Both G.Shinnie, who captained again tonight, and Raven supported the attack brilliantly and they equally defended solidly. Raven was perhaps a little lucky not to see red but we'll take that. From the moment we scored our 1st goal, there was ever going to be one winner. We knocked the ball round well and really dominated and had a grip on play. Hard to fault any of the players and we stood out by miles as the better footballing team. Brilliant performance and long may it continue! Must also mention the away crowd tonight. Great atmosphere from the fans tonight, the players undoubtably appreciated it and responded to it. A highlight for me was the second goal were G.Shinnie came to take the corner, acknowledged the fans, we scored and Warren celebrated like we'd won the cup! Great moment! Any stay away fans are really missing out on great football here and a great atmosphere tonight. Finally, we have always been a club that has relied heavily on team spirit...the last couple of years have been tough and it's been obvious that the players haven't quite settled but tonight...what a show of togetherness and care for the club. The celebrations at the end were brilliant. All the players, even the subs rushed over to the fans and congratulated themselves as well as each other. Tokely, Munro, Duncan etc may be gone and we can argue all about the rights and wrongs about that all we want but to even question the commitment that these guys have for the club is ridiculous! We have moved on as a club and the Warrens, Drapers, Shinnies etc are now the core of the team and my goodness they care! Brilliant stuff. Lets get these players signed up for a couple of years and see where we go...theres no stoping us at the moment! Great night and MOTM has to go to A.Shinnie for me!9 points

Get new contracts handed out to these guys. Andrew Shinnie is the most talented player we have had since Bingham. His touch and control are wonderful and he can fairly pick a pass. A brilliant player.3 points

I hope tonight's result hasn't wound our new friend up too much. He will get a trip to Hampden soon when his team play Queens Park away.3 points

Looks like the preview chappie was right. No shock at Ibrox as third division side get pumped by the professionals from the SPL.3 points

It's allowed, and works perfectly well, at other stadiums all across the country....I don't see why it should be any different at TCS.2 points

For the majority of away SPL fans i think it would be a great idea to boost the bars use however Celtic fans shouldn't be allowed near the place. 3 hours drinking buckfast on a bus and then getting into a bar at the ground would be a recipe for disaster!2 points

Don't know where you get that golf costs a deal more from Alex, Season ticket for the main stand at TCS approx 25 games? = £370.00 Season ticket at Culcabock use 365 days = £379.00 Sadly,I know plenty football "fans" who prefer to go out golfing on Saturday afternoons nowadays, myself included.Supporters are getting disillusioned for a variety of reasons, what the reasons are can be argued all day and night, but the game is losing a lot of diehards. Equipment needed to go to football = nil Football shirt and scarf = £50 Pringle and Golf shoes £150 Equipment needed to impress golfing buddies £1000 +2 points

Great match (from our perspective) and the "total" team performance that we've come to expect from this squad....absolyootley delighted. Not much more I can say on the game that's not already been said. It seems like a long time since it felt this good following ICT and long may it continue. Ibrox has never been a ground I enjoyed going to, but the bile and vitriol seems to have reached a whole new level and the club/authorities are deluding themselves if they think they are making any inroads into dealing with it...I'll leave it at that or it'll just turn into a full page rant...lol.2 points

Loved hearing the Rangers TV commentators say that it's the league that matters and they now have Alloa and Peterhead to look forward to.2 points

Oh dear. I think that this is simply indicative of the hostility that we can expect tonight as there is little doubt that we are to blame for the rangers current predicament. The club is as convinced of this as the OP, their ticketing strategy for tonight seems to be to earn enough income from the game to cover costs, and release the vast bulk of tickets as complimentaries. This ensures that they don't have to share any gate receipts with us, and that will properly punish us. Of course, if our small club status and precarious financial situation (after all, we should be out of business already) means that we do suffer, all the better because we deserve it. Of course none of this is accurate or true, and I can see that. If evidence arises that changes the picture, I will make judgements according to the weight of that evidence. But the rangers? they continue to bully, intimidate, manipulate the truth and scapegoat others for a situation that was truly of their own design and which predicated liquidation. That, my friend the OP, is bigotry.2 points

I am a tad disappointed that nobody is giving the opposition any credit. They were in the game almost until half time and I am fairly sure they would, on their better days, hold their own in the Second Division.1 point

Probably by the same mechanism as they employ to kill enjoyment of Inverness as a Saturday night entertainment centre by insisting on a midnight curfew. Police in towns and cities across the UK seem to manage "normal" Saturday pub and club going as a matter of course. But uniquely this seems to be beyond the competence of the Inverness cops and, apart from anything else, it portrays our city to the world as some kind of Wee Free dominated 19th century backwater. So they will possibly also therefore come to the conclusion that the management of two sets of football fans in the same pub will also be beyond the capacity of the Sneck Constabulary. Wee free dominated backwater sounds about right to me Charles and they have been killjoys in the town/city for as long as I can remember.........and I'll wager Scarlet's generation would make similar claims.1 point

ahh well you win some you lose some i don't mind not getting any points now we are in the semi's1 point

On paper Wallace, Shiels and Black would be the only players i'd take from their team. Would Wallace get a game ahead of Shinnie? on present form; no chance. Knowing what Blackie can bring to a team he may squeeze onto the team sheet ahead of OTJ but Draper is first name on the team sheet for me at the moment. Shiels vs McKay, another tough choice. Probably go for Shiels TBH Eh? Black showed last night exactly what he can bring to a game. Long before the end he was reduced to the nasty, sniping vindictive little individual that he is. Ahead of OTJ? You are having a laugh. Sheils, er no. Just no.1 point

I have a recollection that the net gate receipts for both semis are pooled and shared equally amongst the 4 teams, in which case the payday is the same regardless.1 point

Hearts are in a precarious financial position and when the semis take place at the end of the January there is a chance that their squad could be weaker than at present.1 point

I saw Tony with blood on his head right enough. Hope you're OK boy. There was a level of animosity which makes me awfully glad we don't have to go back there this year. After the first 20 mins, there was only one team going to win this. They were always going to come out of the traps flying but when we settled we played them off the park. OTJ and both Shinnies were immense but MOTM for me was David Raven. I think we're seeing now what he can do, and it's almost as impressive as Terry's full time celebrations. Make no mistake, this was a potential banana skin and I'm still buzzing.1 point

oh dry yer eyes Chizzer. As mentioned elsewhere, our editorial team always produce tongue in cheek articles. This is not the official site, it is a fans site, and we encourage the fans to get involved with fanzine style articles. This particular article is neither offensive, nor bigoted - consider yourself lucky you are not Ross C*unty !!! (PS: only 1 G in bigot, unlike the EBTs - allegedly [that was humour too in case you wonder - hence the tongue in cheek smiley]) Want the official preview which is far less humorous, but nonetheless interesting? here it is: http://ictfc.com/matches/previews/674-preview-rangers-v-ict-scl-cup As to the other points you raise in your post and comments on the front page: We dont hate Rangers, they are largely irrelevant to us as fans. Sure, their demise - at the hands of those in (financial) charge at Ibrox over many years rather than officials or fans of any other club - affects our club financially, but like the others, and like the new owners of your club, we have to suck it up, move on, and do the best for our own club ..... Your unintentional irony is also not lost on me .... you talk about us not respecting a team 3 leagues below us in the article comments on the front page, then mention our "little club" like your patting us on the head ... pot and feckin kettle dont you think !!!1 point

A couple of league positions below where we were aiming for, poor cup performances, vastly increased medical bills, loan players kept on after January and more added to cover injuries....I was expecting loses to be far worse than they were!!! I've not had the opportunity to look at the accounts yet, but I believe that despite the increased losses, the balance sheet is looking healthier and that's the most important thing. Not sure who did the article for the BBC, but they were either trying to sensationalise the story by reporting it the way they did, or they have a complete lack of understanding when it comes to reading a set of accounts and should not be putting pen to paper on topics which they clearly don't fully understand.1 point
