  1. I have witnessed some superb goalkeeping displays over 22 years of following ICT, most notably from club legend Jim Calder but that performance by OFW today, especially in the second half, might just be the best of the lot. Getting our Welsh Wizard signed up on a long term contract over the Summer is looking an increasingly shrewd piece of business.
  2. That was a lovely surprise. As expected, we competed really well in the middle but struggled with Celtic's pace and trickery in the wide areas. So crucial that we didn't let the heads go down the way Sevco did last week, especially after the Draper decision, and fought until the very last minute. Obviously we got a bit lucky with a few shots off the woodwork, and Fon Williams was outstanding, but some of the last ditch defending was superb, and Foran got his subs spot on - Doran, Mulraney and of course Fisher all caused a few problems when we did manage to get forward. 5 points from 3 games against St Johnstone, Aberdeen and Celtic is good at any time, but after the start we'd made to the season, and with a rookie manager, it's a great achievement. Looking forward to going into work tomorrow as the only ICT supporter among around 1000 Celtic supporters and giving them a good GIRUY. :)
  3. A great result. OFW was immense and rightly got man of the match but I also thought Carl Tremarco was outstanding. The desire and commitment he showed today was unreal. I wasnt sure if he was up to the job of been our regular left back when Shinnie left but he has proved me wrong. Such an improved player and his will to win and make tackles and blocks is such an asset to the team. Along with the Warren, Meekings, Mckay and OFW its great to have a solid looking back five again.
  4. Birds scoring goals for us now. Today it was a KingFisher.
  5. Magnificent backs-to-the-wall performance in the second half, when it looked like only a matter of time before we were breached. And to top it off with a late equaliser was all the sweeter because of the dodgy decision in the first half. An extremely well earned point, some justice done. Two points from two of the toughest fixtures bodes well. If we can just sharpen up a bit at the front and decide our best combination we will be fine. They can't beat Barcelona and they can't beat ICT
  6. Does anyone seriously believe that it would not have been given at the other end ?
  7. Chorley Smileymometer adjudged from pub viewers who have rarely seen ICT before. FON WILLIAMS MOM by a wide feckin country mile - BEST EVER goalkeeping display by a Sneck keeper in years MAcKay Never really did much but neither did he do much wrong either TREMARCO To me he is the most improved player in the SPL. Some of my mates thought he was close to MOM WARREN Captain Fantastic and held the line well. MEEKINGS Probably at fault fer the second goal but also left unsupported. Otherwise solid in a very solid looking back four KING What a feckin peach of a goal as King Billy shuts off the secretarian songs from the away end. TANSEY Better display but frees from competition from Draper VIGURS Not shure if he should be the choice in these type of games. POLWORTH Simply NOT a wide player and I though that he was at fault for the first goal DRAPER In the hole as I have been advocating fer a long time. Tansey + Draper in midfield does not = Close to MOM - keep him there DOOMBAR I suspect that the statue of Flora moved more in the wind today. Lets hope he is unfit but he simply is NOT a lone striker - but FISHER is
  8. Really disappointing referee performance, what chance has any team in the spfl got when decisions constantly go for celtic?
  9. In recent seasons we've often lost last minute goals. This season we're starting to score crucial last minute goals. Very pleasing.
  10. I'm in KR REYKJAVIK social club and everybody's looking at me cos I've just shouted F****N YES!!!!!!!
  11. 2 points
    North Side Boyz?
  12. Way more entertainment indeed. We have ourselves a shrewd young manager fully committed to the cause.
  13. To be fair, they did hammer the team making their debut in the top league.
  14. Owain Fon Williams A terrific match. I felt at half-time that we were really hard done by after an outstanding performance, but in truth we had no answer to Celtic after the break. Fon Williams was absolutely amazing, and to nick a point in that fashion was just tremendous. Hard to fault anyone's performance today. I don't think anyone else in this league could live with Celtic when they play like they did in the second half, so I've no complaints about our difficulties defending. I felt sorry for Polworth; many a right sided midfielder will be torn apart by Kieran Tierney this season. The boy's better than most wingers. What a hit by King as well. It's great to have had two reasons to jump around like a lunatic in celebration - one amazing goal and one last-ditch equalizer. A great afternoon's entertainment.
  15. Great point and the equaliser scored at the death makes it feel like a winner Last time I saw a majestic Welsh goalkeeping performance like that was by the Legend Neville Southall Dougal
  16. Drapes should have stuck the ball in the back of the net before anyone could get anywhere near him. That would have stopped any argument.
  17. He is our top scorer and in his first season scored two goals against Celtic at home. If this was an English game, the referee would certainlt have booked or sent off Sviachenko, and then awarded a free kick on the edge of the box. Curiously enough, Chris Sutton saw it as a clear and deliberate foul by Sviachenko. Draper was not acting!!!!!!!!!!! He was brought down. That said, I think Celtic deserved a point today but the Referee did not get quite a few decisions right.
  18. C mon the Caley Jags. Fantastic result.
  19. That is a terrific point for us, a real bonus given the number of chances Celtic had in the 2nd half. Great work guys - team and management.
  20. Richie Foran, tactical genius?
  21. What a good call that was, his replacement gets the equaliser. Come on lads, one More!
  22. What a farce of a decision. We could be 2-1 up playing against 10 men. But no, the ref decides against every other opinion there.
  23. the ref is shocking a clear celtic fan would have been a better game if willie collum was in charge
  24. Very unlucky to be 2-1 down. We've played quite well and contained them reasonably comfortably. Penalty decision was an absolute joke, there's no justification for getting that wrong. The worst thing was that it was the 2nd one after Gamboa took out King. I would hook Vigurs for Doran at half time. Vigurs is on a booking and he's also lunged into a couple of other challenges as he's too lazy to chase back. With this referee we just cant risk it.
  25. I would have just positive likes only. Dougal's unintentionally hilarious intervention just shows why negative dislikes are stupid and self-defeating. I often use a green dot as a quick way of saying 'I agree, well said'. I have never used a red dot. Why stir things up?
  26. In this afternoon's matches (17 Sep), I can only see two scorers :- Jason Oswell scored a hat trick for Newtown AFC in a 3-3 draw with Rhyl in the Dafabet Welsh league and Gary Wood scored another two for Formantine in a 2-1 win at Turriff in the Highland league
  27. Who. Really. Cares. This site has progressively become poorer over time for a number of reasons and as a result I hardly ever visit it. Other forums I still use quite regularly.
  28. Nobody seems to have picked up on the news item about Richie Foran supporting an initiative to help players who may have mental health problems. Inverness manager supports mental health initiative for footballers http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/scotland/37225204 In this story it is really good to hear that as team captain Richie would visit players who were out with long term injuries recognising that this can be very depressing. He also talks about the importance of recognising that some unusual behaviour on or off the park can often be a symptom of a problem. We moan often enough about what players get paid these days, but it is important to recognise that it can be emotionally very difficult for these young lads. They are often living away from friends and family, they are subject to the pressures of high expections from the club and to oftenunfair criticism from the fans and media. The mental health of the players is therefore a vitally important issue and it is brilliant to see our new young manager providing some leadership here. Well done Richie!
  29. It's not a huge stadium and sitting higher up will give a degree of protection from rain and will be a bit more cosy, Celtic will also have section G in the main stand. If your in your teens right behind our goals should be fun. If not Renegade sounds like a fun guy. You can't miss him. He's got a big banner that reads. Say no to the Tories, cruise ships and boiled sweets.
  30. Honestly, in my opinion, if you want voting, leave it as it is. I've had many years of experience (admittedly fewer years than the admins here) running forums and other communities for various video games with moderate success and I can't help but feel if we at the time were to open up the voting and allow users to see who is upvoting or downvoting, it would lead to more friction. There are realistically only two suitable options: Keep voting, but hide user information as to allow someone to disagree with a comment without having to create a reply to explain why. Abolish voting, forcing those who disagree to come forth and write a reply as to why they disagree with a comment thus creating more discussion, but also opening up your forum to low quality posts. Trolls will be trolls. Cyberbullies (in the case of downvoting a username regardless of the content or quality of their contribution) will be cyberbullies and groups will always form. Don't let things get more personal as this will just cause more upset. EDIT: I would also like to add that in my opinion, it's rather embarrassing that it's come this far, for both the community and the club that we all support.
  31. Would I be right in saying that switching to option 2 (showing who awarded the dots), would actually be applied retrospectively, ie people who issued dots in the past on the understanding that it was anonymous would now find that they have all been made public?
  32. RIG I didn't know we had an unofficial signing section in the north stand does the board know about this?
  33. I think someone is missing the point here. Mental health is not something to be judgemental about. The point is that the initiative I mentioned in my original post reaches out to a group of young men who, whilst on the face of it are privileged, are actually very vulnerable. One of the lovely things about this is that if the macho world of professional football can be more open about mental health issues, then it is more likely that others will acknowledge and get support for their problems too. Indirectly this should help those who Wynthank15 thinks are more deserving.
  34. Mckay.....no "a" & small "k".
  35. -1 points
After you have gone through the feckin nonsense of picking up a ticket make your way to the North Stand. Go past the Family Stand and then past a myriad of glum faced, sweetie rustling, boring and silent majority and stroll towards the only part of the ground where the voices of the more devoted throng of supporters can be heard. This noise attraction can usually be heard throughout the match. If you find yourself in a seat where the silence is only disturbed by shouts of abuse towards ICT players then again move towards the noise of vibrant support. And finally there is usually a flock of yellow coated tits gathering in front of the noisy element.
  36. Poor Dougal and my itching left upper arm
