  1. Good to see an appointment who has no links to existing or previous board members. Will hopefully have lots of ideas and contacts to generate new income / investment for the club. Time will tell if it is a good appointment but he has far more experience than our previous CEO (and the board). Lets back the guy rather than looking for reasons to dismiss him before he has started.
  2. Thanks ocg, I have booked this at Glasgow Clyde College 50 Prospecthill Road from 11.00-15.00 at a cost of £6 which is good value and it is secure parking.
  3. Bunch of Jessies. We will win this game easily, Hearts are an utter gang.
  4. I'm amazed we appointed someone with any background in Scottish football, I was expecting the assistant manager of Pentangle or something like that.
  5. Yup the other Thistle are in real peril of successive relegation and Falkirk, with their resources and fan base are huge under achievers. Can you imagine the moaning on this site if we were in either of their positions.
  6. ... the successful 25 years you are quoting DD relate ONLY to FOOTBALL and not to infrastructure, business model or finances. "expectation that his contribution to the club pays his way and makes a positive contribution to the club's balance sheet." Yes this is essential and must be monitored closely and regularly He must also evaluate everyones jobs to see if they are absolutey necessary because financially we can't carry passengers.
  7. I can hardly believe that an ICT fan would forgo watching his team at Hampden because of the SFA and their awful policies. Some of our players may never have played there before, and may never play there again. Such occasions make memories to be savoured for all concerned, young and old. I was too ill to attend the final in 2015 but have great memories of the semi final - wonderful David Raven goal. I hope all going to Hampden on Saturday have a great time, no matter the result - such are days out following ICT - come on Caleyaway. Raise the roof- make plenty noise.
  8. Hi folks. #CaleyJagsAway have organised an ICT only bar for us from around 3pm on Sat. The bar is called The Koelship Yard - https://www.koelschipyard.beer/ Let me know if you'd be interested in attending so ive got an idea of numbers, lets hope we are celebrating before the trip up the road or if you're staying in the central belt it could be a messy night! *Note* The bar doesn't take cash so its card only payments
  9. As a seer I am unfortunately not allowed to advise on any semi-final score or outcome. But I have booked rooms in Glasgow for May 25th.
  10. We are firmly underdogs. Over the years we have often excelled in that situation. Nothing to lose, nothing to fear. Going to be another great day out in the Hampden sunshine whatever happens.
  11. 1. "Bunch of Jessies"----Ha! Ha! Ha! 2. "It's a tall order" ------ So was "D -Day" !
  12. Thats a bit of a depressing post Cmon I tbink we have a great chance to have a real go at them. Hearts struggled against Partick and many of their own fans think they are s###. But then again you dont think too highly of your own team ? Couple of wee omens about our Scottish cup run Jordan White is the current top scorer left in competition with 6 goals only second overall to Dobbie on 7 Joe Chalmers has just won goal of the the last round. So cmon its not all doom and gloom. Lets make some noise and support the boys.

  14. a tall order yes but it's the Cup so anything can happen
  15. WHOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHH
  16. I wonder what user name will he use ?
  17. As much as I'd love to beat Hearts, I don't think we will. We have a pretty decent first XI but take a couple of players out of it and we are pretty thin. Hearts are an uninspiring team but they are solid, they will be properly organised and I think they'll probably be able to hurt us with Izpeazu especially. Also, going forward I'm not sure we have enough to hurt Hearts. Basically, if Hearts play as they usually do I'd expect them to win. For us to win we'll need season-best performance from quite a few of our players, we'll need guys coming into the back four to have outstanding games, we'll need our attackers to play better than they have against anyone this season. It's a tall order.
  18. I agree with the sentiment ... perhaps my question would have been better phrased by saying can we afford a CEO? ..... although I know the counter argument to that is can we afford NOT to have a CEO ! Time will tell. I think Caleyboy hit the nail on the head with his comment ..... if he saves or generates more money than he costs then its a win for all concerned. There is no doubt we all want him to succeed because if he does, we all do. As I said in my earlier post, I personally will judge him based on what he does and not what he did or did not do before. His CV is certainly impressive, but then again, they are supposed to be ! If he can engage with all the stakeholders, from fans, to staff, to sponsors to shareholders and directors and figure out how to get more bums on seats and less cash down the drain (and I am not talking about contracts here) then he will do well. I hope he does. Got to agree with that. Off the park we have - at times - been an unmitigated disaster despite the best efforts of an extremely hard working but small team of employees and volunteers.
  19. Our title chances ended tonight. ?
  20. He certainly has experience in a number of roles at various clubs, and has been in discussion with us for a few weeks. Might be good for both parties - new challenge off the beaten track for him and a fresh appraisal of the situation we are in. Over the years we have been a happy hunting ground for players and managers to come here and prove themselves - perhaps mr Gardiner will do likewise.
  21. Might be the most glamerous game of the season so far and one we are all looking forward to but I would take issue with it being the biggest. For as long as we still have promotion in our sights, the league games are bigger and more important. Getting to another major cup final would be wonderful and a fantastic achievement. However,, a third successive season out of the top division, this time without any parachute payment, could have very serious and long lasting consequences.
  22. I actually think we have a great team spirit at the moment and just like Watford did yesterday the players desire and support from the fans can take us through.
  23. I’ve been to many away games over the years when numbers attending were low. However ICT away fans make up for lack in numbers by enthusiasm and voice - everyone joins in the singing, chanting, clapping and, if drums there, even better. A few fans can sound like umpteen times their number if they’re vocal. That’s why home fans are not heard - so far away in North Stand and Main Stand so silent. No wonder the away games are more enjoyable for the fans AND the team. Let’s all be VERY vocal at Hampden. It makes such a difference.
  24. That's odd. I thought I saw them there in 2015 ?
  25. What seems to be slipping through the cracks here is that the ICT and Hearts support is being forced to attend at these ridiculous kick off times due to the SFA's enforced blackout period between 2.45 and 5.15 only because the SFA want to get their pound of flesh from the TV rights which they hold and can't sell for a later kick off due to their own rules. In other words everybody has to turn up early so that the SFA can get their cut on the TV rights. This game could have gone ahead at 3.00pm without TV coverage. I have said it before on other related topics we should boycott the matches where the SFA insist on stupid kick off times to circumvent their own rules and collect on their TV rights, ruin their TV spectacle, we need only do it once ( and advertise it) and they will get the message, no opposing fans means no spectacle, a dead atmosphere and a poor viewing experience. I live within 15 minutes of Hampden but I will not be attending nor will I be putting money in the pockets of those who are unfit to run OUR game be it local or national. I suspect many of our national supporters will be doing the same, starve them out.
