  1. Signed back on here with an extra S on my name to pay my respects to my great friend, my best friend - Bronson... aka Simon Macdonald. You gave me many laughs mate. You were an absolute rock for me when I went through my own separation. You pulled me back up. You had my back. You held me up. You were a true, true friend & one of very few people I trusted with my life. We had a brilliant night on Friday. Laughing, smiling, joking, drinking, talking about the future. I am so, so, sorry from the bottom of my heart that I never saw the signs from you. I'm sorry I never saw your pain or your turmoil. I just saw Simon, laughing, smiling, joking.... My heart is hurting like hell for you. I am riddled with guilt I never saw your internal pain & my own pain is growing each day that I failed you in your own time of need. RIP Simon. It was an honour to call you my friend.

  2. A tragedy but, understandable as your feelings are in the circumstances, no blame whatsoever attaches to you. People in turmoil can be very adept at concealing that even from those closest to them and it appears that is exactly what happened on Friday. Stay strong and make sure you have someone you can talk to.

  3. Richard, please keep talking and sharing your grief with others. Your friend would not want you to feel guilt. It's so sad.

  4. Morton have put up highlights on YouTube. All five goals are defensive shockers. Morton's centre-backs don't seem to realize that the heading ban only applies to under-12s. Their keeper made some fine saves, particularly the double block from the White deflected shot then MacGregor on the rebound. Both Morton's goals came from Rooney getting skinned by Cadden (?). For the first one the cross really shouldn't get through McHattie to the back post, Nesbitt is unmarked because Storey wasn't tracking back, and Ridgers makes a hash of the shot and lets it through his legs. For the second Tremarco thinks the ball is going out and clearly doesn't realize Tumilty has nipped in on his blindside - otherwise he would surely have made more of an effort to shield it. Everyone has gone to sleep as a result, so Carson doesn't expect the cutback and it ricochets off him to give Lyon a tap-in. Still, Morton have been in good form recently and are still in the playoff race. That's three points on the board on a night where everyone else was dropping points.

  5. Take comfort that you and Simon had a great night together last Friday. You could have had no idea of what was going on in his mind after you parted. Remember all the happy times, the laughs, the jokes, don’t try to analyse the what-ifs. You were a good true friend but he didn’t want to share his troubled thoughts and that can never be anyone’s fault.

  6. Really impressed with Lewis Toshney. First time I've seen him play and thought he looked really good. After that performance he must be looking like our first choice centre half. Let's hope he can stay fit and get a good run in the team.

  7. Well a great 3 points and other results went our way...for a change! Mind you we struggled for long periods tonight, Morton did what other teams have done and worked their asses off to close us down and stop us playing. First 25 mins were fine then Morton woke up and put us under a fair bit of pressure although not creating much of note, Jordan had a great header tipped over the bar before fairly battering a header into the corner of the net to make it 1-0 ( not like him) Into the second half and Morton had us on the ropes, We decided to help them score... Up stepped Rooney ( well placed header ) to restore our lead, ICT then decided to help Morton score again by another calamity in defence by Tremarco. However as the disgruntled fans started thinking about heading for the exits up stepped Toddy and left us not a bit disgruntled. Bit of a Jeckll and Hyde performance again, Walsh man of the match...giz a break.

  8. That's a great result for us tonight and gives us a little breathing space since all other games finished in draws 2 goals in 2 sub appearances for Todorov I don't know why he does not get more game time

  9. Fantastic result. We're usually on the wrong end of injury time winners, so great to see us getting one tonight. Good results elsewhere too so altogether a good evening. Well done lads, same again on Saturday please.

  10. Good to see this never give up attitude they seem to have at the moment, keeping the heads up and plugging away right to the end. This is what will put pressure on DU if we can keep chipping away. It may seem that we're too far back but we thought this back in 2004 until we started on that amazing run-in from March to the helicopter game against StJ - same again please Robbo

  12. Aye, Toshney did ok against the Hun Colts who were quick and smart thinking. Last night showed what we have lacked for a while - a cb who sees the danger and attacks the ball, reckon if we'd have hung onto either mccart or coll it wouldve been a good partnership. More valuable minutes for McGregor, who struggled at first - you don't learn too much on the bench - but grew into the game with his awareness and touch getting up to speed with the big boys. A 3-2 win means good entertainment and value for money, what a difference Todorovs goal made.

  13. Pity we cant seem to get the second goal when we are on top and dominating games. Would have made for a more comfortable watch last night. Standout for me last night was Tremarco, get the contract extension on the table now and let's not risk the usual end of season cluster.

  14. Toshney has impressed since he joined us, and I don't think McHattie is doing that bad either...not sure what cover we have for the full backs though!

  17. Toshney made a big difference. The team did play with a lot of energy but two defensive errors almost gifted Morton a win. We certainly were the better side but it's points that count. Carl is beginning to be quite inspirational - it was his deft flick on that enabled Toddy to score two in a row. MacGregor ran his socks off for 73 minutes. Morton were on a charge up the table so a vital win. However, the pack remains waiting to chase us down. Alloa away is never easy.

  18. If we can win our two games in hand we cut the deficit to utd to 10 points. This is still doable. Reminds me of the 15 points and you ****** it up season Dundee had.

  19. We deserved our win. Great effort throughout the team, but both goals we conceded were poor. Great delivery by Walsh for White’s opener, and Rooney’s header was sublimely placed before Toddy turned up to clinch it. Not our best performance, but a solid team effort got us through it. Just what we need on such a hectic run of games. Ridgers had a good early save. Toshney was steady. McHattie always looks calm, but possibly not his best game at centre half tonight. Rooney and Tremarco both got forward well. Carson and Trafford worked hard in midfield. Walsh and Storey both had the beating of the dull backs, one of whom should have got a second yellow for a challenge on Doran. MacGregor got valuable game time. White had a a good game. All the subs then contributed, particularly Toddy! Just what we needed as at 2-2 I was a bit worried. Whilst we had beaten Morton heavily earlier in the season, they came tonight as the form team in the league: that was their first league defeat in 2020.

  20. Magnificent result. Just like the Paterson years, a team that can take the knocks and come back Onwards to Alloa on Saturday

  22. At 2-2 I was starting to have thoughts about our season fizzling out, but great night in the end. Keep it going ICT!

  24. There's not much that makes me contribute here nowadays but this does. RIP Simon. Unfailingly bright, sunny and optimistic whenever I saw you at away games. https://breathingspace.scot/

  25. Something done at last about this curse would be a very fitting tribute and perhaps something positive to emerge from this tragedy. We are brought together my a love of football and of ICT in particular but this puts the trivial nature of sport and the various, spats, niggles and emnities we have with our fellow posters into stark perspective. Mea Culpa as much as anyone. I have always been a good and willing listener to the concerns of others but, and I think that being a middle aged man brought up in a stupidly stoically Highland tradition has been a large factor, I have always had a tendency to bottle up and cover up my own worries when sharing them, or at least discussing them, would have been better for myself, my family and colleagues both present and past. If by being more open and honest about ourselves and offering the help and experience that we are able to give to others can prevent another such tragedy then some good will come of this and I too am very happy to make myself available to listen to anyone at any time. I have been as guilty as any but perhaps, whilst still having robust discussion and disagreement, we can start being a little more respectful and tolerant of one another not just on this site, not just on social media but in general.

  29. It is with heavy heart that we must post of the passing of Simon MacDonald (Bronson). We have heard the news from multiple sources this morning. Simon was a stalwart of this forum from the very beginning and we offer our deepest sympathies and sincere condolences to all friends and family. Rest In Peace big man.
