  1. We have reached the stage of the season where it's points not performance that count and that's another 3 in the bag to extend our winning run. If we can keep grinding out results then a play off place remains an increasingly distinct possibility. In past seasons a play off place other than finishing second in the league has been a bit of a poisoned chalice due to the fatigue involved in having to play the extra play off rounds after a long and full season. However, this season could be different with a quarter fewer league fixtures and no Challenge Cup games. Any of the play of places might represent a prospect of promotion this year. Still plenty to play for and we seem, at last, to be on a bit of a run with almost no lingering worries about falling into the play off position at the wrong end of the table. This mediocre season could yet end well.
  2. This was a huge win for us today. At the start of the season the number 1 objective must simply have been survival as a club and then maintaining our position in the Championship. It has been a difficult season in so many ways, but this run of 10 points from 4 games means that a win away at Morton in the next league game should dispel any lingering concerns of relegation. We've looked pretty nervy at times in these last few games, but the hard graft has taken us to a position where we've really nothing to lose. It's been a great effort. Time now to do our neighbours OTB a good turn and knock them out of the cup so that they can focus on their relegation battle.
  3. Performance or points.... performance or points... performance or points.... Points please💪
  4. Full time.....massive 3 points today.
  5. It's certainly been quite the upturn in results and good news since Billy Dodds arrived. Just need Carson to sign a 5 year contract now 😁
  6. You would have missed Andy Bannerman signing off then, when he said: "The final score here at the Caledonian Stadium in the SPFL Championship: Inverness Caledonian Thistle 0, Arbroath 1."
  7. 10 points in 4 games but we've only scored 3 goals in those games. We have not been creating much at all, but in the brief time Scott was on the pitch, he demonstrated some of the quality and vision we have been lacking. We have some tough games ahead and Scott may just have what it takes to get us into the playoffs at the end of the season.
  8. You can be eternally grateful for that last point
  9. I've been really impressed with Dan Mackay of late. He is far from the finished article but I think he has been in good form and probably our most incisive attacking player. His pace and directness have been troublesome for opposing defenders. Fair play to the lad who has been thrown into the team and played out of position. The choice was sink or swim. He was just afloat for a wee while but know has found a good rhythm to his butterfly stroke. Essentially I just wanted to say he will be a big miss today if he is unavailable.
  10. Certainly a better week to be an ICT fan than a Hearts fan...
  11. I'm sure he also said at one point that our away game at Morton is this coming Tuesday (30 Mar), when it is actually the following week, 6 Apr.
  12. Whilst he wasn’t on for long, he looked like he has a lot to offer us as we try to move up the table. Welcome to the Caledonian Stadium, Scott!
  13. Another good win for us. At this stage of the season I couldn't care less about performances. All that matters is grinding out 3 points. I'd gladly take scrappy 1 nil wins every game until the end of the season.
  14. The team can relax a bit now. A free hit at county on Friday; all the pressure on county. Look to keep the league form going after that. 🤸‍♂️
  15. We didn’t really deserve 3 points there. Game had 0-0 draw written all over it, with Toddy’s great header being the only moment of quality.
  16. Yep, Delighted with 3 points, Performance was awful first half but sneaked a goal with our only shot on target. Something we really need to work on.
  17. Could we not have got the Buckie commentator on loan until the end of the season?

You know that feeling that you get near the end of a Scotland match - football, rugby, whatever - when you know that they are about to blow it? The strangest thing happened last night - I got the exact opposite feeling! Even though Russell had been sent off and Scotland were behind, I had the oddest premonition that this would be the one time when everything worked, and we would win. Then France had a man sin-binned, Dulin stupidly decided not to kick into touch to end it all, and the rest is history... And if I was ever in a scrap and could pick someone to be on my side, I'd pick Hamish Watson. Incredible drive, power, wriggle ability, and always, always at the heart of the action.
  20. Arbroath at home in the league always puts me in mind of our very first league game at Telford Street all those years ago. Who amongst us at that time would have predicted that, within two decades, we would go on to play in the finals of both the main knockout tournaments and win the most important of them as well as finishing the third best league team in the whole country. We may have fallen back a bit, maybe more than a bit, from those heady days but a remarkable journey non the less. Right now, I would happily take a repeat of the very first league result and scoreline.
  21. CTO report published to be updated when highlights available
  22. A few weeks ago we were staring a relegation battle in the face. 9 points in 3 games and we are in the play-off spot. Terrific turn around, and something to build on. Be great to see an upbeat finish to the season. Well done, lads.
  23. Ground it out, great 3 points when not playing that well tho. Thought Storey was going to slip Allan in for debut goal....thought Allan looked decent. Good work chaps👍
  24. That was a long afternoon but we managed to get the 3 points which we were not doing earlier in the season. Well done to the team
  25. Our best run of form since November, coming good at just the right time.
  26. Grateful for the win and another 3 points. Not altogether convincing, but as long as we keep winning there is always a chance of an interesting end to the season. Well done lads.
  27. Who gave our team slow tablets at 2.45???
  28. Without a replay and from a halfway camera angle, I'm not sure how you can be so sure.
  29. Just logged on to the video link. so many balls going around in the warm ups pixxelot camera going mental. Hope linesman has plenty hair
  30. For a team that seriously lacks creativity. This seems the perfect solution. Exciting signing. Hope it works out for both parties. Game time for Allan to get him back to his best and makes us create and score lots more goals.
  31. That's a fucking ridiculous signing at this level. You love to see it etc.
  32. What a signing that is

Fantastic performance and result to end Scotland's tournament. Wins in London and Paris for the first time this millennium. Congratulations to Wales on winning the tournament but, with a little a little more good fortune and a bit more discipline in the two games we lost a very good tournament for Scotland could have been a great one. Well done to all concerned. Very good omens for the future.
  34. It sounds like Dan Mackay may miss out tomorrow: https://ictfc.com/match-preview-arbroath-h If so, presumably Storey will start. Hopefully we maintain our recent momentum in the league and get the win that will take us into the top four, at least until the evening game between Dundee and Dunfermline.
  35. Contract expiry dates (I believe): End of 2020/21 season: Cammy Mackay, Ryan Fyffe, Kevin McHattie, Brad McKay, Harry Nicolson, David Carson, Aaron Doran, Lewis Hyde, Anthony McDonald, James Vincent, James Keatings (already signed a PCA with Raith), Miles Storey, Shane Sutherland, Nikolay Todorov End of 2021/22 season: Mark Ridgers, Daniel Devine, Wallace Duffy, Cameron Harper, Roddy MacGregor, Sean Welsh, Daniel Mackay End of 2022/23 season: Robbie Deas, Scott Allardice Here's the article confirming Welsh is with us for next season
  36. If I could tie up one of those players it would be Carson, but I fear he’s one of the least likely to stay, and that even if he chooses to remain in the Highlands it might not be with us.

I'm a bit behind and have only reached the Minder episode. Your impassioned remarks/rant on getting a commentator who is ICT to the core were absolutely spot on 👏
  38. Along with finding out Scott Allan is a class player, also found out that our Twitter community is toxic as ****. Made a comment about the midfield starting to become oversaturated, and that our defensive backups are Youth Players who've only played Highland League as their highest level, and we should be looking at an experienced backup.
