Some people have interest takes on things. For me, it's simple - poor recruitment both on and off field even given our finances - too much nepotism employing people who do not seen to add value aligned to their renumeration - lack of foot fall an issue no board or entity at the club has seemed to be able to address or improve over the last 10 years - lack of communication - lack of integrity, from the concert fiasco to paying staff to moonlight on other jobs during match days which although may be contractually compliant doesn't look good - lack of entertainment and product on field. We have no real style and have become a hard watch. Which given the experience on offer I do understand for many why there are better or higher priority alternatives for spending their cash No conspiracy theories here. Just a list of reasons why I see it going to ****.9 points

Back to Boyes, our previous Welsh players in recent years have done pretty well. Owain Tudor Jones, Owain Fon Williams and Marley Watkins. If he has a similar impact we will all be happy.4 points

Finger Out Time With the fans restless, it's time for the Caley Jags to get their season started and get some points on the board. Many fans have lost any lingering faith in the current regime from the top to the bottom and would like to see change. Yes, it's only three games into the season, but the signs are there for all to see. A lack of direction on and off the park is worrying. Who replaced Robbie Deas? The answer is nobody. Hence our defence is riddled with errors at the moment. Deas leaving has been known for at least six months yet we have done nothing about it. Why? We have been scraping the bottom of the transfer barrel for a while now and performances on the park have reached an unacceptable level. The fans are disgruntled, the manager is getting some heavy flak, the Sporting Director is seen more at Dingwall at the weekends commentating on other sides whilst his own team are floundering, the CEO is taking us down a perilous route with no light at the end of the tunnel after a series of money making ventures have failed. We were well warned, now it's time for the Chairman to speak out before it's too late. We face Dunfermline on Saturday in what many believe could be a season defining encounter. Win and we will paper over the cracks for a while, lose and the only real option is wholesale change from the very top. As Richard Osman would say, we are pointless. The Pars have claimed four points from their opening fixtures; it's time to close that gap. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Match & Ticket Info Max Anderson Morgan Boyes Nikola Ujdur ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Venue H2H v Dunfermline Pld Won Drn Lst For Agst + / - Home 23 10 8 5 30 21 +9 Away 24 9 10 5 29 26 +3 Neutral 2 0 1 1 3 4 -1 Total 49 19 19 11 62 51 +11 We missed the Pars last season as they were busy getting themselves promoted from League 1 along with Airdrie. An encouraging but goalless first half where Reece McAlear had hit the post was replaced by a two goal second half with chances at both ends. The deadlock was broken by a man who only scores screamers. Reece McAlear lashed the ball across the keeper and into the top right corner of the goal from a difficult position wide on the inside right area. What a strike that was but it only woke the Pars up from their lethargy and they had three or four great opportunities before substitute Austin Samuels sealed the points after he sprinted on to a through ball from Aaron Doran to slot neatly behind Mehmet in goal. Comfortable thereafter for the remainder of the game and an excellent three points to strengthen our hold on third place. Last Time Out Despite Billy Dodds oddly claiming we started well against Airdrie, we went a goal down after 35 seconds. And just to rub it in, it was an own goal as Cammy Harper prodded a deflected cross past Mark Ridgers before the sugar had been added to the coffee. The second goal was another defensive masterclass (NOT) as Devine was caught unawares when Davidson tried to play a short ball to him. Top scorer Calum Ferguson needed no second invitation to bury it behind Ridgers and once more leave us chasing the game. Not even with Airdrie being reduced to 10 men could we get anything. Our MotM Nathan Shaw pulled a goal back in the second half but we were unable to complete the comeback thanks to a combination of keeper Josh Rae, the woodwork and some rank rotten finishing. That was on the back of defeats to Queens Park and Ayr United. Meh! The Pars lost their big Fife derby match with Raith Rovers thanks to a Sam Stanton first half goal. It was a tight affair with Rovers just shading it. Rhys Breen and Ewan Otoo went close after the break for the Pars and Stanton almost added a second in front of over 7500 fans but the hosts fell just short. Dunfermline opened their campaign coming from behind to beat Airdrie 2-1 (Otoo & Allan) and followed that up with an encouraging 1-1 draw at Tannadice. Wighton had put the Pars ahead and it took United until the 95th minute to make their point. Pld W D L F A +/- Pts 1. Queens Park 4 3 0 1 6 5 1 9 2. Dundee Utd 3 2 1 0 8 1 7 7 3. Does this tell us that MacGregor and Welsh might be out for some time or that Glimour and co are not up to the task? Welsh and MacGregor missed out at Airdrie again along with long term Lewis Nicolson. Aaron Doran also missed the Airdrie game. Not sure what's up there as he played in the Inverness Cup game against Clach and looked sharp. Apparently we are actively trying to source a defender to plug the gaps... Sean Welsh is still out so I would expext Max Anderson to be in with a shout of starting this one. Here's our latest Max Dunfermline have some new faces. We won't concern ourselves with who they don't have, but here are their latest signings: In: Michael O'Halloran, forward (St Johnstone); Kane Ritchie-Hosler, midfielder (Rangers, loan to permanent); Ewan Otoo, defender (Celtic, loan to permanent); Sam Fisher, defender (Dundee). Let’s be honest the real problem here is finances and as a result we find ourselves light years behind our highland friends further north. Our fan base is just not sustainable for a SPL team it could be argued that we are punching above our weight to even survive in the championship. The honeymoon period for the great highland franchise football experiment is well and truely over and there are now some serious cracks in the armoury. For younger fans they are at least experiencing what it was like supporting Inverness Thistle back in the great days of yore. Unless there is a serious change in direction which I don’t personally think will happen imminently anyway I’m another not setting a foot back into the dump. Boycotts organised walk outs or demos outside the main gate may help but I doubt there are enough fans that are that interested anymore. Dougal3 points

I’m no happy clapper but all I’m urging is for everyone to show support to the players from the off tomorrow to help their confidence. Certainly where I sit, if we lose a goal there is plenty encouragement then being given to our players from many around me, for a few seconds at least. Equally there are plenty moans and groans along the way and choice words aimed at players. I’ve never been berated for cheering the team. I’m in the main stand but don’t rustle sweeties!2 points

Can someone tell me where the happy clappy section of the ground is? I’m fed up being berated by angry cursing miserable old gits when I cheer the team. No aspersions on the type of coarse fans I’d leave behind (Some old Howden Shed guys could come to mind but I’m not sure). So reading other posters there is a more pleasant area in the ground where the finer quantities of the sport is appreciated! bc2 points

MacGregor had his left leg in a protective boot at the Clach game so I suspect he’s out for a while. Despite the concerns about the club, we all have a part to play tomorrow. We have a very young squad so we need to get behind them and show our support from the off. The younger ones in particular will be low in confidence and sensitive to negativity from the crowd towards any mistakes they make. I know it is tough, and if things start badly instinctively we will want to vent our anger, but I hope we can all rise above our concerns and support the players fully, and hopefully help them secure a much needed win.2 points

I totally understand the mixed feelings of many supporters, I find it hard to drag my ageing body along to watch what's been on offer on very cold wet winters nights, down at the stadium. But, I had been an Inverness Thistle supporter from around 1970, and followed them home and away, through the good times and bad times, that's what you do when you follow your team. Granted, the football that is on show now is possibly the most frustrating and unexciting watch that I can remember for some considerable time, but I've never been a glory hunter that only comes out when the good times are here. If only some of the 15,000 fans that came to the cup final, with their newly bought hats and scarfs, would have carried on and supported ICT In the following seasons, we could maybe have attracted a better standard of player, and a far better manager. I don't know if any clauses have been inserted into the unbelievable two year contract that the club gave to Dodds, but knowing what has happened in the past, we would probably go bust if he is paid off, and that is something that we all fear. So, I will be down at the stadium on Saturday, hoping for a point if nothing else. I look at the teams in the league now and really can't see where wins are coming from.2 points

I've been feeling the same since about 2017. The board realised that the heights of 2015 could never be sustained as there wasn't the funds or the fan base to stay at that level.2 points
-
Enough with the conspiracy theories ffs. We are where we are now because we had to pay off 2 managers one of which was on a 4 year contract. We've spent 6 years in the Championship and it's finally starting to catch up to us it's as simple as that. Not to forget that along with many other clubs in Scotland Covid-19 was a massive financial setback. Setbacks that are still affecting us to this day. A few parties are to blame for where we are now the board, the management the players, even the people of Inverness who just don't care about ICT they'd rather support Celtic, Rangers or Aberdeen. It sucks but it is what it is.... you're either gonna be supporting the club through thick & thin or you're gonna walk away after a while. I'll support ICT till I die even if we're in the Highland League.2 points

Hi all It's becoming increasingly difficult to post the NAPs every week due to the huge amount of errors on the site which is hugely frustrating, I'm not sure how much more Caleyjag can put up with me swearing at my laptop. I'll try my best to keep it going but the format may change when you look at the odds. Every time I try to paste into a thread, the site crashes. I'll do my best1 point

Boyes actually seems a decent enough signing given the constraints we face, but he’s not the experienced and commanding Mann/Dods/Munro style of defender we’ve been longing for.1 point

Inverness Caledonian Thistle have signed defender Morgan Boyes on loan from Livingston until the end of the season. The 22-year-old started his career at Liverpool coming through the club’s academy and he made his debut for the club in December 2019. According to Sky Sports Gosh we have a young squad!1 point

He hopefully is negotiating a good fee for Shaw plus a couple of the surplus Coonty players before the transfer deadline. Shaw gets to play at the level his ability deserves and we get a couple of 34+ seasoned veterans to ‘strengthen’ our team. Why do you think robbo’s been up in Dingwall. He’s been working hard on vital relationship with Sir Roy on what players he would like at Dingwall. As we desperately need the money, clearly this was robbo’s instruction from his employers! bc1 point

As many have previously advocated - bring in Warren and Tremarco - Hold on to Wilson and Esson - and Grasser as the Director of Football. perhaps even look at appointing two joint chairpersons (note the word) and dispense of the CEO position.1 point

I fully understand where you're coming from Duke. It's a long way for me to travel to games and over the years I've covered goodness knows how many miles supporting the team. I loved those days of the Pele era and, yes, those of Butcher and Robbo too. Great footballing sides which of course had it's ups and down's but mostly up's. Since starting to support Caley and ICT I've been to about 210 games. Pretty good I'd say for a guy from Coventry (0). In one season alone I went to 21 games!! For me, as stated many times in various threads in here, the decline began in 2015 after we won the cup. I'd also add that I had no enthusiasm whatever for the SPL so you could possibly say my travels slowed down a lot back then. From a supporters eye it does seem clear to me that there must be some kind of agenda to run the club in to the ground. Hopefully this is totally the wrong view point but there's nothing evident, to me, that this isn't the case. I live in hope that things will change very soon but I can't see it happen with the current gang in charge. Please ICT, as the song goes, Relight My Fire.1 point

The fact he said in his post match interview that he thought we started really well, tells me everything about his state of mind and complete and utter ineptitude, and that's me being kind. What did we do in the first 30 seconds before the goal that was so good1 point

One of the reasons given for retaining Robbo was access his amazing scouting network. Only now realising that they may have meant radio network and "Off the Ball"!0 points

Disappointing given the results this week that we couldnt have contrived to win the Scottish Cup. Even with Doddsball I'm sure we could have taken a scudding of some Swedish farmers and still managed group stage football.0 points

Mulgrew would be a great signing. Experienced, aggressive and physical CB knows the game and has aspirations to learn and move beyond playing. But he is opinionated and not afraid to be honest and speak his mind therefore instantly I'd expect a clash with Dodds which would be doomed to fail.0 points
