  1. An extremely encouraging performance yesterday against a team that are supposed to be untouchable in this league. Some of our play in the first half was verging on Pep era Barca (ok, a slight exaggeration but you get my drift). Defensively we look much stronger and Mark made some excellent saves too at vital moments. Overall you can see a completely renewed enthusiasm and focus amongst the players. My only concern would be the lack of goals but hopefully that will come as the momentum builds. i would also say that David Wotherspoon looks like one of our best signings in many a long year and I would be looking to extend his contract at the earliest opportunity. A rolls Royce of a player in the Championship. A decent away support yesterday but I would encourage anyone who has drifted away from attending matches to get yourself along and see this team in the flesh. I'm really enjoying watching this transformation and we are a team very much on the rise. Long may it continue. Finally, I would be gutted and extremely surprised if this teams is not in the play-offs come May. In Dunc we trust.

  2. Great performance. Great atmosphere. Before Dodds and Barry left it looking like the word in 'Pride of the Highlands' had to be changed. The word 'Pride' returned yesterday. We keep working.

  4. Exactly. Time for the stayaways to dust off the season tickets and get along on Saturday to give Ayr a doing. Not normally a happy clapper and that was the most I’ve enjoyed an ICT game for a long time.

  5. Having seen the goal,it was a great build up,good sharp passing from our own end to theirs and finished with a composed well taken goal by a player who is turning out a star attraction. What a difference it is having a Manager who has a menu of options at his disposal, who it technically and strategically minded and who can convey his passion for the game to the rest of us. Big Dunc has turned the shop around and taken us off the rocks.

  8. It sounds like Harper did very well to create Shaw’s goal. That will have done him the power of good. It is good that we are mixing our tactics up to suit the games now. Shows we now have more than one plan! It’s nice to be getting a run of good results! Long may it continue! The club’s report: https://ictfc.com/dundee-united-1-1-ictfc-04-11-2023/

  9. @ymipand I had a problem deciding what formation we were playing too, thought at kickoff it was 3-5-2 but then looked more like a 4-4-1-1 at times. Of course it often changes in or out of possession. That was a classic away performance and some of our passing was superb, back to middle we look a good side but as always we are going to struggle to get goals. Billy struggled to get service unless he came deep for the ball and Shaw was our biggest threat. Not sure what Sheridan is going to offer although maybe he lacks fitness but he contributed very little. The goal was a thing of beauty as Cammy threw off the shackles and galloped forward. Very few weaknesses today and I have been ill and missed several weeks, so was impressed by seeing Ujdur, Anderson and Boyes for the first time. Duffy came on for Carson and did a decent job on Middleton. Louis Moult hardly got a sniff. Their goal came when Holt was given space to head home from a corner but why are we substituting defenders when we have conceded a corner? Apart from the first 10 minutes and the last 15 you wouldn’t have known which team were at the top of the table. Another great day with CaleyAway. ETA: Mark Ridgers MoM Big Dunc

  10. I'm going to my wife's brothers wedding and I want to **** him off as much as possible. I'm from South London and he is a Ross County Fan. I have bought the whole Inverness Caledonian Thislte kit and want to know what best chant I can sing to walk into his wedding too to **** him off? Any help will be appreciated. Much love. 11. It’s good to hear positive talking from those people that were at the game which hasn’t been the case for a long time. Still a long way to go though so hopefully we will start winning a few games starting next Saturday.

  12. My decision to stop attending games and spending any money with the club has nothing to do with performances on the pitch and it is the same for a few others. We may be seeing an improvement in performances on the pitch (and I'm enjoying that), but there's zero sign of improvement off of it, and that is every bit as much a threat to the club. Arguably more. Forgive me if I don't subscribe to the papering over of the cracks.

  17. I agree, but watching the highlights, I don’t think it caused the goal. Duffy was in the post and nowhere near the ball so Carson would presumably have been in the same position.

  18. Watching it again, what a deft touch by Wotherspoon (I think) to set Harper away. He and Big Dunc were getting positive comments from the panel on A View From The Terrace on Friday. I’m sure we will feature again this week after yesterday’s game.

  19. Have seen the goal on line. It’s a cracking goal. We broke up a United move, played it calmly at the back before picking out Harper running forward. He took it from inside our half to in line with their box and clearly was looking to pick Shaw out, with a touch from Anderson or a defender helping it on its way. Shaw then tucked it away well. Nice one!

  20. A very valuable point. A lot of the united fans are saying that we are the best opposition they’ve seen this season, so it looks like DF has got us going in the right direction.

  22. Good effort all round today alongside some good football. Tremendous. This is a tough league and so keeping points coming in will be vital to maintaining a competitive edge and moving up the table. It is looking more possible to move up the table so keeping up the same level of effort will be required. Hopefully that will happen. Big Dunc is definitely creating a bit of a buzz about the place; I mean even some of the glory hunters are starting to turn up again … … Belief in the players own abilities appears to be rising again and I am sure that there will be a number of reasons for that but it is definitely a good thing to see as a fan… long may it continue…

  28. That is a great point on the road against the league leaders, and keeps up our record of not losing in the league since DF took over. I said to my son this morning that I had a feeling that the Jaggies would take something from this game, and it moves us a point clear of bottom spot with a game in hand. Onwards and hopefully upwards.

  29. Great result against the league leaders, which proves we can hold our own with any of them. Don't want to get carried away, but the 5 teams above us are separated by 2 points, and three of them have played two more games than us. So, if we can keep collecting points and get into that group, you can climb 4 or 5 places with one win, as Dunfermline did this week. So, plenty to play for, if we can just maintain this good run under Dunc.

  32. Point on the Road Dunc's return to Tannadice would be hindered by some key players missing. Welsh and Longstaff failed to recover but Boyes and Wotherspoon were in the starting XI. Sheridan was on the bench which looked a bit devoid of flair. United had a strong line-up with Ross County loanee Jordan Tillson replacing the injured Docherty. A big crowd of over 7500 were on hand with 270 visiting fans making the journey in eternal hope. Inverness opened the scoring through Shaw but Holt levelled the game quickly. United had the possession but Big Dunc went back up the A9 with a hard earned point ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A decent crowd were on hand to witness Kai Fotheringham being influential early on with an effort superbly blocked by Cammy Harper followed by Mark Ridgers saving his next effort as the hosts looked to get off to a flier. The early possession was dominated by the Tangerines. Billy Mckay and Nathan Shaw advanced into the home box but the defence managed to mop up the cut back. Mckay saw keeper Jack Walton block with his legs in the 24th minute when maybe he could have put his laces through the ball. From the resultant corner Danny Devine headed over from a great position five yards out. United then had a close one when Middleton's shot come cross went inches wide as they stepped up their intensity ten minutes before the interval. Nikola Ujdur was first into the book for fouling Tony Watt. Ridgers again saved from Fotheringham from outside the box and then another brilliant save from Kevin Holt at close range before Scott McMann shot over with the goal gaping. The visitors were playing a dangerous game as United applied the pressure but Morgan Boyes headed over as Inverness ventured forward a minute before the break. Despite the pressure it was all square at half time. HALF TIME: 0-0 No changes at the interval and surprisingly it was Inverness that opened the scoring with an exceptionally slik move down the left from their own penalty box. A great counter attack from the Caley Jags as Harper advances down the left side and his low cross found it's way to Shaw, via Anderson, and he fired a low effort past Walton from 15 yards to open the scoring! Superb! However it might be a long forty minutes now! In fact the lead was short lived. Wallace Duffy had just replaced David Carson five minutes later and Holt promptly powered in a bullet header from Fotheringham's corner. Holt headed wide ten minutes later as the substitutes started to enter the field of battle. Ten minutes to play with United pressing for a winner and Cillian Sheridan on for Billy Mckay. Holt was blocked as he tried to get one on target and Declan Glass suffered the same fate with the visiting defence working overtime. Ridger's saved at his near post from Middleton deep into time added on as United searched for a winner but Inverness held on for a valuable, well earned point. FULL TIME: 1-1 More match reaction to follow>>> Tremendous point on the road. It was a backs to the wall performance at times but our defence was up to the task of slowing down the top scorers in the Championship. Mark Ridgers was in superb form with his back five blunting the top scorers. Full marks to Ferguson for adapting the shape with key players missing at a difficult venue. Two brilliant goals and a point on the road at the league leaders den. The Big Dunc revolution gathers pace.
