  1. It just has to be feckin great that I, and probably more than a few others, left feeling disappointed. We just totally and utterly dominated that game in a manner that I have never witnessed before. It was like we were strolling and we went into third gear - but still were a class in front. If there are any negatives it is that we really should have feckin hammered them - and in the fifth game of the season we should NOT have allowed McKay to take the spot kick. At the end of the day we may regret not putting our goal difference way ahead. But 2-0 in a trot against the Jam Tarts is recognition of our present form and status, Brill looks more and moe commanding and is beginning to give others jip around them. Raven makes the odd boo-boo but is solid. Warren, Meekings and Shinnie are as good as anywhere else in the SPL. Loved the way that TB played Foran - in the hole in front of the defence foremost but given the chance to foray if needed. Draper is more effective just in front of him and with Doran and Ross flanking. Vincent was subdued but what a feckin engine he has. McKay scored a cracker early dors and could have bagged a double hat-trick and - sorry - really fecked it up on a couple of chances. Doran is now tacking and tracking as well as being a runner. Ross looked better than I have ever seen him. But I would give the MOM to Foran, closely followed by Warren. Happy feckin days.

  2. I can'y think of many ICT performances that match that one. Minus McDonald and with a bit of good fortune, it might have been 6 or 7. Hearts were reduced to 1 shot on target, but it doesn't tell the whole story. There wasn't a single period of the game where Hearts matched us, never mind dominated. I don't know how long we can stay at the top of the league, but I suspect it might be a whole lot longer than a lot of people think and with a bit of luck it could well be until next May. Get down here and support this team because this is the nearest to genuine history that I reckon Inverness might see in a long time. You don't want to miss it.

  3. Very competent performance today against a committed young Hearts side who competed well until they run out of steam. The second half was about as one sided as it gets and if Billy had had his shooting boots on and a bit of good fortune he could have had a double hat trick. Thought Foran was immense and my man of the match. Every year we have been in the top league my first concern has been to avoid relegation but, not yet out of August, I think we can say with utter confidence that that will not be a concern this season. Who would have thought that we would ever see a team from Inverness topping the league this far into the season playing attractive fast flowing football with the hardest working and most prolific forward player in the land ? The only down side is that, despite all that, fewer than 3,000 home supporters bother to turn up.

  4. Really enjoyed my first taste of Scottish football today. If you watch that every week, your pretty lucky! Shame ICT couldnt finish the game off though and score more. In the Championship, which I watch every week, a two goal lead is the worst kind as it can soon disappear. many a time I have sat and wondered where our dominanant 2-0 first half performance has gone, as the opposition claw back a draw! I firmly believe Watford missed out on promotion last year through not pressing home the advantage. Good luck to you all, as previous guys have said, get down and support your team, cause your missing out on some good times. Your team has converted us today, we shall be back!

  5. They did Scarlet, but I don't know if it's the cause for concern that a lot of people think. Maybe about 3 000 is our core crowd. If we keep that going, and increase it in "high interest" games that might be as good as we get. What matters to me is how good that 3 000 are, and today they were very good indeed.

  6. Great game today what a start we r having we played the best today that I've ever see us play we used to just punt it up the part and hopefully it reach some one now its all controlled with some great crosses What saddens me is I don't now how u can live in Inverness and not support them I live 2 hours away we don't manage every home game but we try I wish the city would get behind there local team instead of supporting the old firm

  7. There were a couple of Jambos walking behind me after the match and one of them summed it up for me. He said "I'm disappointed but it's not a disaster. I was expecting to lose but at the end of the season it could come down to goal difference and I'm relieved we only lost by 2 - it could've been double figures!" There will be times when despite being totally dominant, the ball just won't go in. I'm just glad it happened today when we were already 2 up. Should acknowledge the great away support. They came in numbers and despite the fact that their team was totally outclassed, they never stopped singing. That must give great encouragement to their young and inexperienced team.

  8. I agree. It has taken over 130 years of professional football being played in Scotland for a team from Inverness to be in this position and goodness knows when, if ever it will happen again. This could well be a once in a lifetime opportunity. Get away from the TV, forget about charms of The Eastgate Centre and the Retail Park and get yourself along to the stadium and, while you're about it, bring a friend or two with you.

  10. On my YouTube account I'm starting a new series called "Away Days" based on ICT's away games this season with there being footage of the match from the away end, goals from the game and reviews on it. This may be a pointless idea but I thought it would be alright if I made videos to show my support to the club. I made the first episode yesterday based on the Celtic game. Hope it's okay and I'd love to hear feedback on it:)

  12. Another great result for the boys today, me and a few of the lads raised a glass for ICT in the BRFC club house, we even had a chant for Inverness, lets hope the run keeps going

  13. Another good all round solid performance, Ross, Vincent & Doran stood out for me. Foran played captains role well, but passing was off a few times. MacKay outstanding finishing again. Just keep this winning mentality going lads.

  14. Thought there wasn't much between the sides in the first half, but we were clinical and Hearts' defending was catastrophic. After the break it was one way traffic, and could have been a cricket score. The Hearts players looked knackered after their midweek game, and badly missed Wilson in defence. No-one should ever let McKay take a penalty ever again! But until he messed up that one on one with the keeper I thought he had been sensational. Doran and Ross really stood out for me - both were energetic and keen to get on the ball. Doran in particular buzzed all over the park. A brilliant performance. Was it handball by Hamill? I have no idea. The referee had a dreadful game in general - Draper in particular was being pulled up for everything. By the Kilmarnock game we'll have been top of the league for six weeks!!!! We've never had it as good as this, have we?

  15. Good display, kept the ball well, but should have had a heck of a lot more goals when you consider the amount of shots and chances we had. Have to agree with Butcher about the penalty, and I was saying it at the time. I think I'm right in saying Mckay's missed his last three penalties, and I've never been that convinced by his ability with them, even the ones that he's scored. I wouldn't have him taking them again, unless quite a few players missing the next time one comes up.

  16. Apparently Butcher agrees. said in post-match interview that Vincent is the PK taker and that he bollocked him out for being sentimental and handing the ball to BM.

  17. Yes, sounded like another solid performance. Well done everyone. A pity there is no game next week so that this great momentum could have carried on. Will just have to be patient for a fortnight!

  18. We've talked before about McKay and penalties!! Fair enough I suppose to let him try for his hat trick, but personally I would have stuck with Vincent who scored the last one.

  19. From the radio commentary, it sounds like a superb performance - flowing, confident, inventive, utterly dominant. Just about the best I've ever heard a home crowd on the radio too - they've been singing for the last 15 minutes solid. Really encouraging stuff.

  20. If you bought an adult ST and got 2 free U12s in the family section paid it over 12 months it would be under £21 a month. Works out at about £13 a game, very good value imo. I do feel sorry for the away fans who take kids aged between 13 and 15 as £16 is quite a lot for that age.
    1 point
  21. Yes but isn't it five pounds per head provided it relates to at least 650 full-paying adults minimum. not kids. Question is : how many kids are included in that large figure. Personally speaking, I think it would be great if they just paid Hearts the 5 pounds per adult regardless of how many kids come up. Goodwill would be massive.

  22. I think if we're wanting to bring in more people more regularly, the match ticket prices have to be looked at again. I know money's tight and whatnot, but some of the prices are a bit much IMO. An adult ticket for the North Stand for tomorrow is £21, while a concession is £16. Now that's a bit much. A few weeks ago, I got a side-on view from the upper tier at Tannadice as a concession for £12, while it was £10 for the lower tier. Now that's more like it. If you want new or casual fans to pick up the ICT bug, you're going have to get them through the gates in the first place, and in the casual fans case, going much more than they are now. I wonder though in some cases if the prices for matches are putting some people off.

  23. This is why it is so important for teams to get into the group stages. I would be over the moon if I was a celtic supporter. They are playing against 3 superb clubs with great histories. Whether they are bottom of the group or not, they will have had 3 fantastic nights at Celtic Park, not forgetting the excitement of this week's win to get them there. It is what their season is all about. It must be great for our players to see what Celtic are doing in Europe and to reflect that we are deservedly ahead of them in the league. It should give us belief, as fans, that we too can make it into Europe next season and get a win or two and perhaps a shot at a well known European side. Success for Celtic in Europe is good for Scottish football. Good luck to them I say. They sure as hell will need it in that group.

  27. I was having a pee in the LRT after the game when a celtic fan came in and started talking about the game saying "we" were lucky to get away with the penalty incident as he thought it was a blatant penalty, his face when we were washing out hands and he seen my ICT top was quite amusing! He then realised why I was agreeing with him so readily! Credit to the fans in the LRT, made us very welcome and free beer too - cheers. Although the dumb bint behind the bar who thought my "toap" was a r*ng*rs shirt can do one!

    • Inverness CT 3-1 Morton - Report
It was a lovely evening for a game of football, what could possibly go wrong? Well, what did go wrong was Queen's Park beat an understrength Airdrie 2-0 at Hampden, therefore despite beating Morton 3-1, Inverness head for the play-offs. Morgan Boyes opened the scoring with a thumping volley after half an hour. Kirk Broadfoot benefited from slack defending to level before the break then proceeded to earn the wrath of the home support with an embarrassing celebration in front of the North Stand. Cammy Harper relieved Billy Mckay of penalty kick duties and duly slotted home from the spot ten minutes after the break. The scoring was completed just after the hour when Sean McAllister drilled home into the bottom corner. Robbie Muirhead had been sent off for simulation then taking a wee fit to himself and was promptly sent off after 58 minutes just after Harper had knocked in his penalty kick, probably aggrieved that he never earned a spot kick for his dramatic dive.

Well, where do you start. It was clear from the begining of the season that something was wrong. Poor signings, dismal performances in the League Cup followed by an abysmal start to the League campaign saw Billy Dodds removed from his position after winning one point in the first six Championship fixtures and replaced by a man with no track record as a manager. A sort of publicity stunt if you like. After the initial new manager bounce wore off, we found ourselves little better off with Big Dunc than we were with wee Billy. We did claw ourselves up to the coat tails of others but the most damning part of our season has been our inability to score goals, especially at home. Only already relegated Arbroath are worse than us. Our team is now full of mercenaries, loan players with no affiliation to our Highland pedigree and many fans have tagged us as being the worst squad ever in our short history. Where are the Golabeck's, Tokeley's, Wilson's..... Much of this can be attributed to our lack of financial nous in the boardroom, failed ventures and now the begging bowls are being put in place to save our club. Having drawn at Dunfermline last week thanks to Aribim Pepple's first goal for the club combined with Billy Mckay's penalty miss, it's now out of our own hands. LAST SIX: D L  W W L  D

    • Dunfermline 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
Out of our hands now: It ended in disappointment for the 319 visiting fans with news that Queens Park had hammered Arbroath 0-5. To rub salt into the wounds, Sheridan and Welsh were amongst the scorers. It's out of our hands now, but it's a must win next Friday and hope Queens Park falter.  Inverness play Morton and Queens play Airdrie. A draw might be enough, but it's a long shot.

I'm not convinced that Billy Mckay was the right man to be taking that penalty, his second failure from the spot in successive games against the Pars.

    • Dunfermline Ath -V- Inverness CT - Preview
Aaron Doran looks likely to have pulled on the Caley Jags strip for the last time after limping off against Raith Rovers last Friday. Sean McAllister returning was a bonus though but the mystery deepens as to why Roddy MacGregor, Austin Samuels and Nikola Ujdur are not featuring either on the injury list or the team list. Baffling to be honest as Roddy has the midfield attributes required, Austin has the speed and potential and Nikola in my opinion, if fit, would be my first choice on the team sheet. Are these guys on the way out? Add to that seven or eight loan players, then next season will see a massive restructure and rebuild at the Caledonian Stadium. I imagine the board members are squirming in their seats like Angela van den Bogerd at a Post Office inquiry.

    • Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report
Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.
