  1. Does anyone seriously believe that it would not have been given at the other end ?

  2. ... and well done to Richie for his part (as well as the lads). Refreshing to hear a post-Celtic match interview with an ICT manager that doesn't slaver on about the wunderful Glashgow Sheltic being a turrific side.

  3. Great performance from us yesterday. Celtic could have been out of sight but I thought we defended heroically at times and OFW had his best performance in an ICT shirt. Some of the saves were outstanding even more so given that he was apparently injured and was struggling to make the team. Foran has been great at talking the side up in the last few days and really instilling belief in the players again unlike his predecessor who would happily have us spread our cheeks for Celtic. A really gutsy performance and for that I felt we deserved a point at the end. I felt we could have defended the first goal better. Polworth was turned far too easily for the cross into Rogic for the opener and whilst Meekings was outnumbered when Celtic attacked for the second I'm not sure he couldn't have closed down a wee bit better. That's probably a bit harsh and it was a nice finish from Sinclair to be fair. Cracking equaliser from Billy King. Can't say much else! Reminded me a wee bit of the goal Hayes scored against Rangers a few seasons back. Pleased to see Fisher get on the score sheet. Nice cross by Tansey to find him as well which led to superb scenes in the home end not seen since, erm, Saint Johnstone a couple of weeks ago but still, despite our lowly position, it's great to see the side playing with a lot more belief and working hard for the entire game and picking up goals in the last few minutes rather than conceding them.

  4. Drapes should have stuck the ball in the back of the net before anyone could get anywhere near him. That would have stopped any argument.

  6. Very pleased to have got something out of the game after gifting them 2 breakaway goals, not getting that penalty, surviving a second half onslaught and being subjected to a range of Irish anthems. It was amazing how their travelling morons fell silent when King, Billy and Fisher, Alex scored. As for Pat Nevin talking about the penalty claim on Sportscene last night, he still speaks about us as if he's never got over our 2015 Scottish Cup semi final win over the God's given right to win every trophy in Scotland mob. GIRU the lot of them!!

  7. Now that's what I call money well spent. What an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon. The team were amazing the way they just kept going in the second half, despite the onslaught at the far end. Well done lads. It was great to see (and hear) the south stand being silenced. Our own singing section were fantastic - we liked the one that went something like 'Oh ho ho it's magic, you know, you'll never get past the Barco' - inspired. And it's good to see a mini singing section forming with the wee lads sitting in the next section along.

  8. No doubt Celtic will write to the SFA to find out why Sviatchenko wasn't penalised and a penalty given to ICT.

  9. I am sure he will be one of the dozen's of unemployed managers who will apply for the job and we will wait for their new manager to be exclusively revealed by Chick Young

  10. The Celtic view suggests they play to different laws: Celtic's assistant manager Davies says after seeing replays the decision to wave play on was the right one. "Obviously it's not a penalty," he said the day after the game. "I think the guy hasn't had enough speed to get away from him so I don't [even] think it's a foul. "I think if the guy has got speed then he goes across and probably scores a goal but I think the player is waiting for the contact, he's trying to be cute and I think the referee had a very good game. He made a very good decision." So there you have. Slow players who are kicked or held by opponents cannot be fouled. Misjudged or ill timed tackles on slow or cute players are legitimate. Patronising and clearly supporting his own player! I wonder what the Celtic view was about some of the singing? That appears to have been over looked.

  12. It sure is Mantis. The wee man was a bit of an internet sensation as the youtube video and subsequent gif were all over Pie and Bovril and he went as far as to tell me he'd "gone viral". It was on our way back to the car after the semi-final win at Hampden. Funnier if you'd heard the boy foaming at the mouth prior to jr's timely intervention . Same guy filming who took the infamous "Jacqueline" clip.

  13. If the player is running with the ball and it moves to the right then they will move right to keep it under control - the ball was still under Drapers control, I think if this was the other way round of 2 teams not involving any of the OF then this would not be questioned. If the 2 StJ incidents were by Pat Nevin deemed a foul then the Draper one also has to be, its exactly the same. Pat Nevin like Willie Miller and some others at the BBC are cretins who have been out of the game too long and hark back to what was acceptable in the past. The BBC need guys like Thommo & Stewart as pundits who are relevant to the modern game, not OF biased and will speak their mind on incidents. It was too big a decision for a ref without a spine - outside = free kick & red card, inside = yellow & penalty - he wasn't brave enough to put Celtic down to 10 or issue a penalty against them. It should make us realise how 'lucky' we were in the semi final a few years back. Oh and if it was a dive then Draper should have got a yellow!!!

  14. I missed the game today as on holiday at present, but sounds like the guys dug deep, rode their luck, were even a bit unlucky with the ref, and won a point few of us expected. With last week's result, things are hopefully looking a lot more promising than a couple of weeks ago, and next week's game may be key to how the season shapes up. After recent criticism, glad Fon Williams played a key role. Of our strikers, I'd be inclined to start with Fisher given his work rate, and then switch to Doumbaye or Boden after an hour or so of him making the defenders work. Onwards and (hopefully) upwards!

  15. Excellent draw and a very entertaining game. It is interesting to note that the four matches Celtic have played in the league this season before today had resulted in wins against the teams that are 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th in the league and they have won them by an increasing margin. 2-1 against Hearts, 4-2 against St J, 4-1 against the Dons and then 5-1 against The Rangers. I think that suggests Celtic are head and shoulders above the rest of this league and emphasises what an excellent point that was today. Personally I'm not sure that the substitutes were the best. Whilst great to see Mulraney, King and Doran on the pitch at the same time as a statement of attacking intent, they need to get the ball in the first place before they can show what they can do. We lost a bit of midfield bite when both Vigurs and Polworth went off and that, I think, contributed to Celtic being so dominant in the 2nd half. I think Foran should have kept Polworth on and taken King off. King had a fantastic first half but did seem to tire later on. Mulraney and Doran both showed good touches and are clearly going to be quite a handful to lesser teams this season. OFW was great and we rode our luck with the woodwork as well. Had Celtic got another 2 or 3 with all that pressure, I imagine folk would be questioning the substitutions. Again, Tremarco was terrific. His level of commitment is just fantastic. I hadn't realised that Mckay also has a long throw. With Tremarco and Meekings also able to launch long throws, an area of the game that has been abysmal in recent years should now be one of our strengths. There are still too many empty seats in the stadium but with games like we've seen this season hopefully the seats will begin to fill. Way more entertainment than last season.

  16. A great result. OFW was immense and rightly got man of the match but I also thought Carl Tremarco was outstanding. The desire and commitment he showed today was unreal. I wasnt sure if he was up to the job of been our regular left back when Shinnie left but he has proved me wrong. Such an improved player and his will to win and make tackles and blocks is such an asset to the team. Along with the Warren, Meekings, Mckay and OFW its great to have a solid looking back five again.

  17. Option 2 would be my preference. I give green more than red I think but Im more than happy to have my name alongside those I dish out

  18. Surely what matters here is the ball. Heading for goal, Draper is in front of the defender and attempting to keep possession of the ball. The defender comes across him from behind and also grabs Draper by the upper arm with his left hand. That has to be an infringement, but whether it was a penalty or a free kick marginally outside the box is a very tight and difficult call. I'm not sure on that one, but I do have to wonder if the referee, right in front of a South Stand full of baying Celtic fans, may have bottled it. And if one green bottle should accidentally fall.... well that's ALWAYS a penalty to Celtic!

  19. So you want to drop Horner for Raven, who hasn't played well at all this season, and yet you think other posters are picking players on sentiment? Seems to be exactly what you are doing here. Horner might not have had a flawless game the other week but in that one game he was infinitely better than anything we have seen from Raven this year. Also, Draper was superb playing just behind the striker against Saints but you want to drop him further back? Bit odd to me. The other week was one of our best performances of the season (not that that would be difficult in fairness) so I doubt we'll see many changes to personnel or how they are lined up.

  20. No Question, it was a foul, a penalty and not given. Sitting in F section main stand and could not have had a much better view other than being on the field in the box. Yes I was amongst the sweetie rustlers and we were making as much noise if not more than the whole North stand and no it wasn't the noise of the wrapping papers D D before you say that. The Highlights and the pundirt reports biased beyond belief. I agree bdu, bbc do need a clear out there and replacements who give neutral and honest appraisals. King did some terrific running pulling Celtic defence apart , not shown. free kick only just saved by Keeper who almost took it over the line as it knocked him back over the line, whether the whole ball was over or not is another debateable point. Dumbauya, spelling excused please, curtailing Celtics efforts to get the ball forward the way they wanted to by his constant and energy filled harrying and running ( I don't know who IHE was watching because this man is and was good ) He did run out of steam in the second half but Richie was quick and made the substitution at exactly the right time. There was a world class keeper playing in that match who deserves all the accolades he gets, our MOM absolutely brilliant We did give Celtic too much of the ball in the second half and we did not apply the same break them up tactics we showed in the first half but all in all the lads did a great job. A great Team effort and speaking of Teams money for money we were as good if not better than the rich boys. We fully deserved the draw despite their managers comments and those of the PUNDIRTS a spelling error that I will not change in this instance. How I hope I can get back to Tulloch stadium next Saturday to watch the Dundee game. Don't miss it lads if at all possible ......This Team is well worth the money and deserve our support.

    • Hamilton -V- Inverness CT - Play off Final 1st Leg - Preview
However all is not well and we just kept our heads above water thanks to Arbroath being rubbish. Onto the play offs and an insipid performance at Links Park left us all wondering if our time has come to drop into oblivion. Our performance certainly would not look out of place in the lower leagues. We clung on for a 0-0 draw away from home and scraped a 1-0 win at Inverness with Billy Mckay saving our blushes. Everything about the club has negative undertones at the moment.

    • Inverness CT 1-0 Montrose Play-Off Second Leg (0-0)
Little Consolation: Inverness will face Hamilton Accies in the Play-Off final after nervously scraping past part-time Montrose who were eventually reduced to ten men when Blair Lyons was sent off after an off the ball incident in the 84th minute involving Morgan Boyes. Inverness had dominated throughout, but failed to capitalise on their possession, and as per the entire season failed to create much of note. The first half was livlier than the first leg, but the same problems showed up our lack of quality. We started with no wingers and Billy Mckay as usual in a withdrawn role. It's not worked all season, so why should it suddenly work now. A woeful first half ended goalless and it was on the hour and out of the blue when Billy Mckay prodded in from three yards to score the only goal of the game following a corner

    • Inverness CT -V- Montrose - Second Leg (0-0)
As much as we have criticised the Caley Jags performance on Tuesday night, let's not lose sight of the fact that Montrose are a decent League 1 side with a good blend of experience and talented prospects. For our part, let's keep them as a good League 1 side and that means no room for faffing about. Time has run out now, there's no hiding places and no room for shirkers. Ditch the sideways passing or put goal posts in front of the Main Stand and tuck shops.

    • Montrose 0-0 Inverness CT - Play Off 1st Leg
      FULL TIME: 0-0

All to play for on Saturday, but don't hold your breath...

However, if we continue like this, it will be our final game this season.

Best performer for us was Samson Lawal, the only bright spark on the field.

Alloa 2-2 Hamilton was the other semi-final score tonight. On this evidence, I doubt either side will be quaking in their boots.

    • Inverness CT 3-1 Morton - Report
It was a lovely evening for a game of football, what could possibly go wrong? Well, what did go wrong was Queen's Park beat an understrength Airdrie 2-0 at Hampden, therefore despite beating Morton 3-1, Inverness head for the play-offs. Morgan Boyes opened the scoring with a thumping volley after half an hour. Kirk Broadfoot benefited from slack defending to level before the break then proceeded to earn the wrath of the home support with an embarrassing celebration in front of the North Stand. Cammy Harper relieved Billy Mckay of penalty kick duties and duly slotted home from the spot ten minutes after the break. The scoring was completed just after the hour when Sean McAllister drilled home into the bottom corner. Robbie Muirhead had been sent off for simulation then taking a wee fit to himself and was promptly sent off after 58 minutes just after Harper had knocked in his penalty kick, probably aggrieved that he never earned a spot kick for his dramatic dive.
