  1. On the parking issue, on a fine day I park away, legally, from the Stadium and enjoy the craic on the way back to my car and, by then the traffic is easier and the way home is less stressful. On wet or dire/dreich days I park in the home car park, go early, chose my space carefully (avoiding potholes, puddles etc) and pay my £5 to support ICT Community Trust and the great work Craig and all his associates do, which is largely not advertised. It’s no great deal to wait in a queue to go home whilst listening to drivel on radio Scotland!

  3. That second email that you think is blowing you off is the best response from any councillor I've seen yet. He takes the time to explain why the decision is being reviewed, that the original decision has not been overturned, and the process that will now take place. He also explains the dangers of following the course of action the club has encouraged. Given the fact you state the other response could be prejudicial, do you really want councillors responding in support of the clubs position and being excluded from the vote?

  8. Considering the public objections around fire safety, the discussions in the last planning meeting about fire safety, now the communuty councils saying "would ya look at all these fire safety guidance issues", it is odd that the club didn't publish or attach to the planning application whatever they have in writing from Scottish Fire and Rescue to try and debunk any of that. Unless the letter is a nothingburger. Instead, the template email the club sent everyone said "Fire risk etc is not a material planning consideration."

  10. Or better yet, improve the shuttle service. Absolute mystery whether it runs prior to the match and quite a lot of the time the bus back is rammed. Advertise it better, make it more frequent and increase capacity then we won't have to deal with being sat for donkeys trying to get out and people won't need to risk getting flattened on the walk back. The car parks fine as is (well, for its intended purpose anyway, not the condition of it), but everyones become overly reliant on it because, like most places in the HC area, the bus service is hoaching and/or overpriced.

  11. Tbh they should be closing stadium road between the roundabout and along to under the bridge except for official car parking, disabled and bus access. The speed cars pass both before and after matches with pedestrians about its got to be luck nobody has been injured or worse.

  13. I wonder how many of the several dozen (or more) drivers who don't park at the stadium to save themselves giving a fiver to the club have been writing to councillors demanding they back a project required to support the club because they're broke?

  14. They appeared also to be aware that there were potentially rich pickings from a large crowd at the Half Marathon and were booking people there - including, apparently, in the Archive Centre car park.

  18. Can’t see what anybody can do except move them on and they’ll just move along the road a bit. Surely they’re not parking, just waiting which is different ? Btw I picked up a £100 fine (reduced to £50) at Tannadice this season. They’ve set up an exclusion zone around the two stadia on match days as residents were complaining. So watch out for the signage when we’re back there on the 23rd.

  19. TBF we’ve been well warned about not parking on the verge. However, I wish the same attention was paid to parking on double yellow lines on the road at full time as cars park to pick people up. It is a hazard and causes chaos.

  20. Totally agree. It's the same with not keeping at least one man up the park when the opposition had a corner. All that does is that if we clear the ball, it's going to come right back into us and also invites more opposition players into our box. Basic basic tactics that Ferguson needs to see and change.

  21. At the Fans Meeting on 3 February, club Directors Scott Young advised that there were 1459 season tickets, and that a further 50 half season tickets had been sold. There’s a summary of the discussion in the thread for that meeting.

  22. Noted yesterday we’re Marley Watkins and Robbie Deas for Kilmarnock, Andrew Shinnie for Livingston, Jake Davidson for Hamilton, Nathan Austin for East Fife and Alex Fisher for Yeovil. Ross Tokely was sent off for Nairn for what a Nairn fan has described as GBH.

  25. Not the same thing at all. I don't park at the stadium because I think £5 is ridiculous and also getting out of the casr park can be time consuming. It's also easier for me to get home by parking in the Longman. Happy to give the club money buying food, merchandise etc but draw the line at paying £90 minimum a season for parking.

  26. The original decision hasn't been overturned? Great so the club can go ahead with the legal vote to approve planning permission I assume? Interesting to note the councillor in question was excluded from voting as he couldn't be arsed to turn up to the meeting. But still voted to overturn the result when he didn't get the vote he wanted.

  27. Gardiner no doubt thought that Sevco hordes would snap up the Orange kit to complement their Sevco rags, flutes, etc. Another genius wheeze to add to the list.

  28. Tbf, Clach's away kit is a belter compared to ours which is just a Scot Gardiner "WATP 55" dream kit, so wouldn't surprise me if they did sell more than we did. C*unty probably did, and Loch Ness frequently put out stunning kits so they easily did outsell us.

  29. I thought they couldn't comment either. But I had a reply from one Kate Maclean who said she is yet to be convinced. Is that not prejudicial? " Thanks for your email. Your position is noted, and I am always grateful to hear the views of constituents. As this is a planning matter, and despite not being a member of the planning committee, I cannot comment, and should not take a stance on this matter (it’s ‘quasi-judicial’). Councillors are expected to maintain an open mind on such decisions until they have heard both sides of the argument. You will understand that this topic has attracted the voicing of some deeply-held convictions, which rightly demonstrates the passion with which people support their local football club. While I support ICT attempts to assure it’s future financial stability, and in general support the idea of storage batteries, I am not yet convinced that this is the correct site for such a development. I look forward to the debate on Thursday. Best wishes Kate " Also had one from Michael Cameron basically blowing me off Thank you for your email, I have noted your concerns. The Notice of Amendment is a perfectly valid, legal and democratic process which has been used numerous times in the past. It does not mean that a decision has been reversed, it means that it is reviewed and is a way to ensure that better decisions are made since they have to be able to stand up to rigorous scrutiny. The original decision was marginal, made by a very small number of councillors and, obviously, has a high degree of public interest. I believe that given these circumstances, reviewing the decision is the right thing to do and is nothing to do with whether people liked the decision or not as you assert. In case you are unaware, the planning function delegated to the council is "quasi-judicial". This means that councillors are not asked to give their opinion on applications, they are tasked with judging whether or not applications meet planning policies and regulations. This may mean having to approve applications which you personally disagree with or reject applications which you support. Applications have to be assessed against information presented to the committee which includes reports from the applicant, council officers, statutory bodies, other stakeholders and anyone who objects to or supports the application. There are strict time limits for the submission of objections or support and these have to be based upon material planning matters, anything that is not material to planning cannot be considered. For councillors, discussion of applications outside of committee, public expressions in support of or objecting to applications, and declaring how you intend to vote prior to any decision, is deemed to be prejudicial and results in the councillor having an interest in the application. Councillors with an interest in an application must declare this and withdraw from the decision making process. Lobbying councillors, for example by using a co-ordinated campaign of emails, can actually have a negative effect if councillors reply expressing an opinion (either positively or negatively) and such responses are effectively on public record. Given the above, I will not be discussing the application from Intelligent Land Investments prior to the Highland Council meeting on Thursday, I hope you can appreciate my position and thanks again for taking the time to write. Regards, Michael

Like you say it would be very interesting to see sales figure etc being released but you know and I know this will never happen it’s just like season ticket numbers it’s like a secret that never gets disclosed! Aaron Doran looks likely to have pulled on the Caley Jags strip for the last time after limping off against Raith Rovers last Friday. Sean McAllister returning was a bonus though but the mystery deepens as to why Roddy MacGregor, Austin Samuels and Nikola Ujdur are not featuring either on the injury list or the team list. Baffling to be honest as Roddy has the midfield attributes required, Austin has the speed and potential and Nikola in my opinion, if fit, would be my first choice on the team sheet. Are these guys on the way out? Add to that seven or eight loan players, then next season will see a massive restructure and rebuild at the Caledonian Stadium. I imagine the board members are squirming in their seats like Angela van den Bogerd at a Post Office inquiry.

    • Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report
Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.

The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!

Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.
