Time to move on from that. MM is never likely to win a popularity contest with ICT fans but if this move helps us escape relegation then I, for one, am prepared to consign both his words and his actions to the past. What happened years ago is history it's what happens in the next month that's vitally important now.

It is appalling but until a majority of us have the courage to take our destiny into our own hands, it is a sad reality.

Haha. Torch protest. Is the protest that we were good for a couple of seasons and now we are back to below average. Thats football, unless we muster up 50,000 fans get used to it, we made some very shrewd signings who developed well with game time here, we brought a few gems through the youth system. They left for more money, mostly play for the top 2 teams in Scotland or down in England. Our wages is circa 1,000 a week or a bit more. If players are successful they will move on to bigger and better things, which is fair. We didn't replace them well, there was never a guarantee we would, otherwise it would be boring. Our Senior players are ageing quicker than we thought. Things are bad, but hopefully its temporary. Its what footballs all about. Lows make the highs even higher. On the whole our club is pretty well run, we have experienced europe and a scottish cup win and are the envy of many teams. The board have made some bad choices, but should be given the opportunity to turn it round. It could be worse, you could support a basket case club like Dundee, have your ravenellis and odd good season but also have the administrations, and no cup wins for donkeys and...Neil McCann!

I'd imagine we're talking a few thousand pounds for a month's work, plus a well deserved bonus if we stay up. A worthwhile last throw of the dice when faced with the prospect of losing millions and sliding into footballing oblivion.

Better late than never and, for those devoting such time and effort into organising torch lit protests and the like to force the board to take action, now that the board has taken positive action, perhaps they can now devote all that time and effort into fully and enthusiastically supporting the club for these vital few games that lie ahead. Depending on what happens, there may be an argument for protest at the end of the season but, to quote the mantra of the Prime Minister 'now is not the time'.

I am astonished that anyone is contemplating having John Hughes back as a manager. His signings were even poorer than Foran's and our style of play had become so predictable that teams soon sussed out how to play against us and we had no plan B. Would we have changed our style this season under John Hughes and been more exciting to watch, would he have signed better players than previously, the evidence suggests otherwise. There are in fact many similarities between JH and RF's style of management in that they are both stubborn and will not change their approach even when everyone can see that change is needed. Is that the one bit of experience RF picked up from JH?

    A shrewd and welcome move.

I thinks this is classed as Shutting the barn door AFTER the horse has bolted. This move should have came 6 games ago when it was blatantly obvious ICT were struggling badly.

This only underlines the truth that Scotland's destiny is in the hands of another country with a completely different political culture. It's appalling.

We were so predictable that we won our first piece of silverware and had our best ever league position are you enjoying what you are watching now? JH completely changed our style of play and had to get the players and fans to buy into it despite the howlers committed in the early days by trying to play out from the back, he then lost his two best players in Shinnie and Watkins. ICT was still a work in progress when JH left, yes possession was overplayed at times but it takes good players to be able to mix it up and make the runs necessary to play a longer ball. Playing the way we did meant we were never going to be hammered by anyone in this league even when key players were missing because of the system we played. I am astonished that anyone wouldn't have him back especially after the dross served up this season.

Too little to late ? Hope not! but suspect so . How Foran is keeping his job is unbelievable . Wonder what Kenny Cameron can see ? Well something NO body else appears to be seeing . Absolutely clueless manager that would be lucky maninging in the Amateur league .

I was not at all impressed by the manner in which he disparaged the club and the fans when he turned down the privilege of managing us and Followed Butcher to Hibs. However, he is a decent, experienced coach who knows the league and many of our players and, as I said in the OP' in my opinion, a shrewd and welcome move. We can only hope that he makes a better job of assisting the manager avoid relegation than he did at Easter Road !

Scotland is seen as a 'problem' (their term), or else we are the 'saboteurs' not wanting to succumb to their vision of an insular, isolated nation state. WTF ever happened to better together? Scotland has zero control over its own destiny--the very fact we have to beg the tory government to let us have a say in our post-Brexit future tells you everything about where the power lies, and how impotent the entire Scottish nation is.

This also underlines the fact that Scottish votes count for absolutely nothing; in their own words Scotland is a 'problem' to be resolved, a voice to be silenced.

Is this officially announced? It's experience at least, knows a few of the players and might be able to organise a defence. Hopefully him and Rice can work together and its not a battle of egos. Worried that its possibly too late though and question why nobody looked at this earlier - 3-0 defeat at Hamilton for me would have been the time.

Curtis Allen scored his 14th league goal of the season last night in a 2-1 win for Glentoran away to Carrick Rangers

Great, plenty experience, now punt that bloke Rice ( who should have never been kept on anyway)

An experienced man who knows the set-up, the players, can advise/coach on defending ... and one who would presumably love to see Dundee go down!

That stable door is hanging loose but the horse has not quite bolted yet.

Could be a big boost having him in the dugout. Someone to give Richie advice that's actually useful. Maybe too little to late, but at least something is being done...

Not a name I was expecting, but welcome nonetheless if he can assist Ritchie in dragging us out the mire !!!!!!!

I believe the board are looking to get someone in to support him until the relegation issue is sorted. I don't know how successful they have been.

Now THAT is a light show! Hard core rave music is optional of course...

Doesn't that just say it all, poorly placed in both leagues in which we compete, or rather don't compete. Suggests the club is being poorly managed throughout.

And I see from the highlights that one of them made a half-hearted claim for the goal, and the three nearest did not claim at all. Which should have meant something to the ref.
  28. 1 point
It was touching to see the 4 perfectly placed Motherwell players turn and run to the ref to point out the huge mistake he was making.

Now this surely has to be a wind up, good fishing attempt though Can you imagine how cringeworthy this would be and how embarrassing it would be if attempted Having said that it sounds like something the Green Brigade would do so I wouldn't be surprised to see IHE turn up with his old school Motorola using the screen light Dougal

Very odd appointment if you ask me and when I got the text from a mate earlier I thought initially it was a wind up For a club that has supposedly no money where has this extra income come from for this additional wage? What it does emphasise to me is we definitely can't afford to put RF on gardening duties Afraid it's just a token gesture by the board to try and appease the fans and sadly the happy clappers will just lap it up Dougal

To me this is clutching at straws and we must be completely desperate if we are welcoming back a person who followed Butcher to Hibs and basically lied to all of us.

No questions however about his honesty and reliability though. Can we afford his bar bill ?
