Summer Transfer Window Thread

I quite liked the January transfer window thread on here because it brought a lot of speculation and good discussion between posters.

How would you like to see the summer window go? Where should we strengthen? Who should leave the club?

My wish list for next season that we strengthen in the left back and attacking options. Keeping guys like Miles Storey and Owain Fon Williams should be an imperative.

Noticed in in the daily record today that John Fleck is looking for another club. Would be an ideal replacement for Ryan Christie. El Bahkatoui of Dunfermline would be a fantastic addition to our club too.

Hope we get our business done early doors.

We've been signing non league players up until now .. I'll happily take a young player with pedigree from a Championship team.  No risk for us in a 6 month loan .. if it doesn't work out then he

Ritchie Foran has pulled a master stoke in getting Jake Mulraney's signature. He will be a fans favourite because he is what you pay your money in for. Lightening quick, off the cuff, direct winger wi

Perhaps but far more importantly so have two very good additions to the squad. Well done Richie.

Having lived near Tynecastle for years I've seen a fair bit of Billy King. A very good player in my eyes. The Hearts fans were disappointing when he was loaned to Rangers as he was doing well in the first team. He has the ability to go past players but needs to add some end product to his game, something that he'll hopefully do with us.

So far Foran has made some really promising signings, it would be nice to add another striker and possibly another defender as back up, but we're not far away.

Billy Mckay has joined Oldham Athletic on loan for the season.

Disappointing, I thought we might have been in with a chance. Never mind, he is the past, time to look to the future under the new manager.

When his contract ends next summer a glorious reunion with the Scottish Cup Winners 2016/17 awaits.

.... And Betfred 2016/2017 champions too, smugly taking the cup back across the Kessock bridge

Stuff it lets go for the league as well. Don't think anyones ever done the quadruple

Celtic won five trophies in 1966/67.

Top six and a semi-final please

Top six and a semi final combined with some entertaining and positive football would represent a good season in my book.

Five's not a quadruple!

Never said it was.  The previous poster said he'd never heard of a club winning a quadruple, I'm saying it has been done....and then they won one more!

Kallum Higginbotham has signed for Dunfermline. I hope we dropped our interest in him and he hasn't chosen Dunfermline over us.

Would be surprised if he chose a championship club over us, although he may not have fancied moving up north.

I was quite excited about getting him in, he was well regarded at Partick and looked good every time I saw him play for Killi last season, bit surprised they let him go. Hope we're still on the lookout for new players and have something in the pipeline.

I really don't care whether we dropped our interest in him or he didn't fancy us. The fact is he's not coming here. Time to move on and look elsewhere....perhaps after giving him a taste of what he's missing in the League Cup group match.

Probably be a back up option if we didn't get Billy King

Spot on. Just like not caring about trying to re-sign Billy McKay.

Would Higginbotham have been a good signing?  Potentially yes.  Would I have been happy had we signed him?  Yes.  Is it possible he might continue his regular form of having a great game once in a blue moon, followed by weeks of invisibility?  Yes.  Am I disappointed we didn't sign him?  Not really.

I recall Higginbotham reading the writing on a big flag before taking a corner and kicking it straight to Shinnie on the edge of the box, Shinnie said thank you very much and was off up the park in no time whilst Higginbothams team mates were still in the box wondering what just happened.

Can't wait to hear who these "2 quality signings" are, not even a sniff of rumour anywhere

If only, its like an obsession on here for some along with negative digs towards our previous manager and brining up the 'm' word. Some just cant let go!!!

Dunfermline in the Championship will probably have a higher average home crowd than us this season, may be willing to pay that bit more for a player deemed a star performer at that level, where as for us he would have just been another squad member and financially offered as such.

Still time for signings yet, there will be players expecting moves to clubs who will find themselves unattached and having to lower expectations which is hopefully where we can get a good deal on a hungry player keen to prove themselves.
