First of all the club can confirm that Aaron Doran, Nikolay Todorov, Brad Mckay, and Cammy Mackay have all agreed new deals and we will release further details of this welcome news later this week.

Manny Duku signs a one year deal. Nice.

These days for Billy Mckay it’s maybe not so much a case of “He scores when he wants” as “He scores a perfectly reasonable proportion of the chances provided to him and is as good a striker as we can realistically expect taking into account our club’s current league status and limited financial resources”, although admittedly that’s not quite as catchy to chant.

Wonder if this means we are likely to play 4 4 2 with Mckay and Duku the first pick front pairing, or whether Mckay will play off Duku in the number 10 role, which he did at times last season after County signed White.

Midfield and up front suddenly looking pretty strong. Now we need a couple of decent defenders to strengthen the squad.

You've obviously missed that we are supposed to use three word slogans these days...lets hope it's at least "Mckay. Scores. Another"

Was a bit despondent losing Toddy after Daniel had gone, but Walsh, McKay and Duku are all welcome replacements.

Duku has certainly moved around and seldom stays more than a year anywhere, and he’s only signed a one year deal with us. We need his Hayes and Yeading scoring rate:

So who gets the No.9 shirt, Mckay or Duku? Billy might go for No.7 though.

Record also announcing that we are getting Reece McAlear on loan from Norwich so if that's true and we, as most expect, announce Gardyne tomorrow that will be us only needing to concentrate on getting in another centre half and right back because we will then have 2 GK (which should be plenty imho), 8 Midfielders and 4 strikers. 

 

Seems like Billy and the board have ambitions of getting promoted this season, especially with all the quality we're signing

I am not sure that I would describe our signings so far as 'quality'.

However, they are all experienced and perfectly able at Championship level and give us a chance of promotion this season.

Given current circumstances and our financial constraints, that is probably all we can ask for just now.

Definitely grounds for optimism.

Off topic but what's a "cinch"? Seen it on most of our transfer articles, and it's confusing the hell out of me

cinch are the new sponsors of the Championship. Don’t ask me why it is cinch rather than Cinch.

They seem to be splashing a lot of cash just now.

It’s a sister company of webuyanycar.com and Rylan Clark-Neal (ask some young folk, Kingsmills!) does adverts for them. Perhaps he’s even booked flights already to present us with the league trophy next May.

Great to have such a promising youngster and for the full season rather than just until January.

Not sure if it's down to Robbo, Dodds or the CEO but an excellent piece of business by someone.

You are absolutely correct in your assumption that I am not altogether familiar with the work of Mr Clark-Neal.😁

Very good to see we are (re)building a squad this early into pre season, more to come I'm sure and the feel good factor can continue with Mr Dodds & especially Mr Hughes getting them into the best shape they've ever been in for a title assault.
