  1. So, let's see.... Butcher was criticised for getting us relegated coz he played Tokely at centre-back. Tokely should also not play for ICT again as he's 4th, 5th and 6th choice as centre-back. He's too slow, too rash and cost us a number of goals. Tokely should also stay as he's a great centre-back. Proctor also must stay as he's ICT through and through, even though he only came back after failing elsewhere. Proctor is terrible and should never play for ICT again. Proctor will be a great signing for Ross County - we should never have let him go. Butcher should never have signed Golabeck as he was past his best. He should also sign Duncan after Ross County decided he wasn't good enough for SFL1, so went to Peterhead. Munro needs to getaefeck as all he does is hoof-the-ball. Munro should have never been sold. Buthcer has ripped out the heart of ICT by not keeping McBain, Golabeck, Hastings and all those others that were no longer SPL quality. Meanwhile, he can't replace them with any quality. Which is why Golobart was never player of the year, we're desperate to get rid of Tade, Gillet and Hayes and we're expecting nothing from A.Shinnie or Doran next season. David Davis. Another failure. As was Tansey, which is why Motherwell were after him. What would Stuart McCall know about potential? Hayes would be better off going to a club where it will be almost impossible to get spotted, as long as it's in England. After all, anywhere in England is better than the SPL. Meanwhile, we should try to sign Black from Hearts and get Rooney on loan from Birmingham. Even though we're desperate for any players with a hint of quality not to sign for any other SPL clubs, we will also bemoan the lack of quality in the SPL. We have no money yet should be able to sign a load of great players for free, whilst acknowledging we can't compete with other SPL clubs, both in terms of finance and location. The likes of Eagle, Stratford etc prove this, even though they cost very little and we went up first time of asking and almost achieved a top six finish. We also wasted a lot of money on Tuffey...who we should offer a new contract to. However, we should forget about that as we were almost relegated this season, finishing only a mere 14 points above Dunfermline and beating a Hibs side that spent vastly more than us. Nevetheless, we should be playing more flowing football on a budget far below the Brazil-like Aberdeen, who finished far above us on two points more. Butcher should play Ross, G.Shinnie and Sutherland more. CTO begged for G.Shinnie to be dropped after a dip in form, although he shouldn't have been dropped. Gillet should have been brought back earlier too. Although neither Shinnie or Gillet should be played out of position. So two left-backs then. Ross isn't strong enough to play regularly and should be loaned out. We should also build the team around him. Ross played 32 games this season. Ross also didn't play much this season. Sutherland should get his chance. Sutherland did and showed he isn't the answer. Why didn't Sutherland play more? We should sign more Highland players, even though we don't know any capable of playing in the SPL. We should though look to the SFL, even though Tade wasn't SPL quality, which is why St Johnstone are after him and he rejected us. But we should take a chance on SFL players to get us some goals, apart from Rory McAllister as he wasn't any good as a teenager but is a superior goalscorer to anything in the SFL 2 or 3. We should sack Butcher and get Robbo in, even though, in a vote, CTO voted for Butcher above Robbo. A more experienced manager is the answer, such as Jimmy Calderwood, Jim Jefferies or Bobby Williamson - all of whom aren't the solution. A young manager with potential should be brought in as long as he's experienced as we can't rely on untried managers. If you think Butcher deserves a chance after doing better than expected two seasons out of three, then you're a happy clapper thinking everything is rosy in the garden. If Butcher doesn't improve the club's fortunes, then he should never have been hired. Just as long as we're being consistent here.
  2. One of the things that galls me most about this and it was clear it was going to happen is that a legend of his status wasn't even given a proper send off, good luck Ross you deserve better
  3. Over the years since the North Stand was constructed in December/January 2004/5 there have been some whispers about a name change to the stand. Such like, The Northbank, The Bridge End and even one bawbag suggested the Caley Kop I have always thought it the greatest privilege for an ex player, manager or Chairman to have their name Christened on one of the home stands. Tonight we have heard the solemn news that THEE greatest player and legend to have played for the Red and Blue of ICTFC has decided to leave. However i just find it totally unfathomable to think that Rossco will have nothing left to do with us, for we all know Ross Tokely is ICT and ICT is Ross tokely. So in this case, I would like to propose renaming the North Stand to the Ross Tokely Stand! Who's with me?
  4. I wish the other 10 clubs would just quit the SPL and all join the SFL. Bl00dy old firm.
  5. This is actually as close to tears as ive ever been over a footballing matter. Ive grown up my whole life watching Rosscoe play and im devastated he wont be there from now on. He was one of the best and truely one of a kind with the service he has given to ICT. The maruading runs down the wing, his rock solid nature, the flashes of silky skills, the strike against Hearts which i will never forget and above all his undying love for the club. We will never see a player like him again. Good luck Rosscoe.
  6. All the best Ross - a true ICT legend. No matter who you play for in the future against us I for one will never boo you.
  7. 2 points
Well thats me renewed my ST i'm looking forward to next season & am going to remain positive & support ICT regardless of whats going on with Rangers ..... MON THE CALEY !!
  8. No I am not worried, concerned yes, at the momment but bide a while 'till the new lads arrive. There is still strength in the skeleton of the team, with new signings and loanees T&M could yet come up with a very much improved side. And to all those negativity minded rizzoles:- Whatever the outcome of pre season selection give the lads a chance before slagging them off. Show a bit more support, be more positive with your posting get behind the team and give them a great deal more encouragement than you have done this season past. As the catch phrase goes.............. every little helps............................ :love02:
  9. Given the service he has given to this club and for the fact that we will never see another player like him im voting in favour...AYE!
  10. I was one of those who had criticised Tokely in recent seasons, and I stand by what I said at the time. That doesn't take away from the fact that he is an absolute legend and will be sorely missed. We now are only sure of relying on Ryan Esson and Richie Foran to provide the grit and encouragement needed in the Highland Derby. As many have alluded to, an era ends with Tokely's departure. The age of mercenaries begins.
  11. It's the end of an era if Rossco is off. No affiliation to the past anymore, we are just another team Good luck Ross....fekkin legend.
  12. Over to you Butcher. It's all up to you now. No doubting next seasons team is entirely yours. It's now clearer that players are voting with thier feet. I suspect some fans will too, if next season is anything like last. All the best Rossco.
  13. very disappointing news ... thats about all I can say just now !!!! With Tokely, Tansey, Tade, Tuffey, Piermayr, Proctor, & Hayes all gone or going and Gillet & Tudur-Jones still mulling over their offers there are going to be some very big shoes to fill next season, none moreso than Rossco a true legend of ICT and as noted, our sole link back to the early days. Rossco was player #41 signed by ICT and if he is not coming back (and Proctor #96 is also gone) then our longest serving player will now be Ryan Esson (#135) followed closely by Richie Foran (#143) !
  14. Oh, did I miss something.........................has the season started yet?
  15. Oh dear, did he have the temerity to disagree with you? As a summary of all of the viewpoints on this forum, I reckon starchief's encompassed things just about perfectly. Don't see anywhere that he's claimed ownership of all of these points of view, just reflected them. Bitter? how? Tell you what mate, rather than be narcissistic enough to claim all knowledge and rail against any opposing point of view, he's just thrown a pail of your own p*sh straight back at you. Never mind, you should be magnanimous enough to deal with it.
  16. Butcher also confirms that Hayes won't be an ICT player next season.
  17. No they don't because they could have an AWAY tie on that date and it is only an option open to those with HOME games. The OF are guaranteed HOME fixtures that weekend and no other club is which means they are the ONLY ones who can make advance preparations.
  18. I guess should have known better than try and engage in a sensible conversation with you....more fool me!!!!
  19. That's as may be, but not all clubs have been (or can be) given a home fixture to allow them to take advantage of it....that's an arrangement which has been put in place especially for the OF and with no agreement required from the team they were suppose to be playing. Everyone else has to wait on the fixtures coming out to discover if it is an option for them...the likelihood of being able to arrange a lucrative friendly in 2 months is slim to none.
  20. Well, in my book Mr Starchief has got it spot on.
  21. Wow! who is this Ann Other and will she be allowed in the bath with the lads ????
  22. story here: http://ictfc.com/new...are-on-the-way- This season really is a make or break season for us IMO and we really need to assemble a squad capable of firstly remaining in the SPL but also hopefully challenging for mid-table. Talking to players under contract?? Think league of Ireland is coming into mid season transfer window. Window opens tomorrow in Kenya and I think France season finishes soon. I suppose also that some players may be contracted in UK till end August. Players in Scotland/England will also still be under contract until May 31st in most cases but free to talk since Christmas if they are in the last year of contract .... English window is already open as far as I know as it starts at "end of season". the Scottish (and France, Germany, Italy & Spain) window officially open on July 1st, Denmark on 11 June, Australia on 1st June, Holland on 9th June. MLS mid-season window opens on 27 June, and as mentioned Kenya opens on Friday. lots of options, but the club can still talk to out of contract players across Europe anytime, its just the actual transfer date that might be up in the air if the contract is still to expire. I will stick my neck out here with one player name I think could do a job for ICT. Nana Attakora. 23 year old centre half, 31 caps at U17-U23 level, 3 full Canadian caps, not currently with a club, but registration may still be held by San Jose or MLS itself (its complicated). Had a trial at Hibs last year which was extended and Hibs fans seemed pleased with him. Not sure if he was offered a contract or not, but he was offered one in Germany but rejected it and decided to go back to MLS ...... after half a season without a club in MLS (and therefore with little or no wages unless he is drawing a basic salary from the organisation itself) he may be of a different mindset now and I know from personal experience of watching him in a significant number of his 68 appearances for Toronto FC that when paired with the correct partner he can be an excellent defender. Wages wise, he might be affordable too as his last published salary in MLS was $45000 which is about £30,000 per year or a little under £600 per week !!!
  23. Celery, celery If she don't *** Il tickle her bum With a lump of celery
  24. Ten4 regarding the P & J recession answer being page 3 girls, they would be better with fresh ewe's every day, and the 'mutton dressed as lamb' page 7. When you think about it, we look like we are going to have another rebuilding job ahead of us, Tansey, Tade, Hayes and not forgetting Proc. But we are then going to give new players the chance to impress and better their predesessors. Most seem upset at Tade leaving, 9 goal hitman, yet most of us think he should have scored 20 plus with the chances he had last season. Tansey came with a glowing reputation and a nose for goals, which he only partly showed although he was fairly decent. Jonny will be missed, but he can be hot and cold. All these players are taking a chance, as the new team they are going to may take ages and ages to gel, as they too are having wholesale changes. The bottom 10 are having massive changes this summer, and the promoted one has lost 3 regulars already. We are all in the same boat as it were, and who knows what will happen, Jonny gets injured early on, Tade continues to fluff when he has time to think, Hibs struggle again, Dons continue to dazzle under Pa Broon, Midden lost their legend and star Hasselbank, Killie continue to pass pass pass misplace pass, Hearts drop their good players, St J rebuild and cant gel, Arabs lose our ex trialist and others and also shop in England div2, Well crash and burn after Champs league July elimination, and Rangers are taken to task by FIFA nolikey their non footie court involvement. Which leaves Celtic at the top and County in their caravans
  25. As the donkey heads south down the A9, asking every 1.5 miles 'are we there yet? ' we wonder if we have seen the passing of another Lionel? a player who frustrated his teamates as well as fans. I'm not too sad to see him go to be honest, and when he lines up against us i'll be giving him pelters too. Fanny...
  26. There's not a hope that the SPL are going to deliver a decision (one way or the other) whilst there's a chance that the SFA/FIFA will do it for them. I'm actually surprised todays SPL meeting hasn't been called off already and fully expect another deferment. The SPL claim there's nothing more they can do to punish Rangers as the 10point penalty is the sanction for going in to administration....however, what about there' options under the charge of bringing the league/game into disrepute? Seems very convenient that nobody at the SPL or any of the member clubs has made mention of that...and that is because, as we all know, they really don't want to get rid of Rangers and are willing to sell their soul, the soul of the clubs they represent and the soul of the game for the scraps from the OF table. Any inclination I might have had towards accepting a situation which saw Rangers (current or new form) continue in the SPL has now gone and hell mend anyone (SPL Reps, Charimen etc) who tries to argue in favour of such a move.
  27. I think this is going to result in total turmoil of Scottish football. Rangers did not go through the proper channels available to them but instead chose to take their appeal through the civil courts in total breach of FIFA regulations. Is this nievity on the part of the administrators? I would have thought they and their legal advisors would have looked at the outcomes of such actions before embarking on this appeal in they way they chose. Now the SFA have to address this new breach as well as the original and impose sanctions that FIFA see fit. A ban from the Scottish cup will not suffice. If the correct actions are not taken then FIFA impose sanctions against the SFA. Sanctions that could have serious repercussions for Rangers allies from the other side of the city. Clubs banned from competing in the european competitions and country banned for next World Cup qualifiers!! Those teams who are in europe are building, at additional cost, for the chance to compete. They could now find themselves in financial difficulty because they have been building based of the monies they would gleen from european games. Celtic now need to think about possible monies gained within the SPL by arguing to keep Rangers in it against the possible monies gained by making it to the CL group stages. Motherwell may not see themselves as possible CL group stage contenders but I'm sure they will be looking at getting past the first qualifying stage and thus earning a decent sum. A sum that would likely be greater than the losses they percieve if Rangers were not in the SPL. Same goes for the Europa league contenders. All this is going to make for a very interesting SPL meeting today. One where the chairmen must take account of the FIFA threat and bear in mind that GB is not a popular nation within the realms of FIFA after all the recent investigative documentaries trying to undermine Mr Blatter and his regime. The SPL, SFA and, indeed, the SFL must now get together and save this game in Scotland, and have the balls to take the right action to prevent us going down the tubes as the laughing stock of the world. There is more chance of TV pulling out of our game because we are an embarassment than there is of them pulling out because there is no Rangers.
  28. The latest dramatic twist see's Rangers application for the English Conference league turned down as the weren't prepared to do Woking away.
  29. One thing about supporting a wee club like ICT is, if you go to enough games, you end up having a pint or two with people like the parents of the players.....
  30. More of your "everythings just dandy" stuff. I'll express my view of things how I like. If you don't like that, I don't care.
