Histrionics? You cannot deny that ICT's red card record this season and OTJ's in particular, is nothing short of shocking. If you analyse the amount of games OTJ has missed since his signing, through injury, and now ill disipline, opening poster has every right to question whether he is a liability, and worthy of playing for ICT again.2 points

Have we seen him play his last ever match for ICTFC? He was honking against Motherwell, and it remains unclear if his red card today was for foul and abusive language or for the tackle. If it was for the former, I wouldn't care if I never see him in an ICTFC shirt again.1 point

Crowd announced as 4500, looking at the south stand i would say Dons took 1900-2000, which look like we managed to get 2500 supporters on a nice day against near neighbours Aberdeen. The home crowd -or lack of it shocked me today! Where have all the people gone? cant call them supporters or ICT fans because they would have turned out to support their team, because thats what suppporters do -support their team Never mind the 'teams playing poorly shyte' or dont like the players TB has signed etc etc.. its at times like this that ICT need fans to turn out and help support the club financially and the team on the pitch. No doubt we will have these 'fans' turn up for the county game in october to support their team. .1 point

Should've finished them off was the feeling I came away with. As others have said, the first half was a bit dull with nothing of much note happening, apart from Meekings' late challenge and yellow towards the end. I thought he was lucky not to walk. In the second half, both teams seemed to be going for it a bit more, with Foran having probably his best game all season. The key moment though was Doran's miss. Whether he was fouled or not, from my angle I couldn't tell, but he should have put it away. Despite a possible foul, I thought he was actually fairly poor today. My only real gripe though, was after Aberdeen scored, ICT seemed to be playing for a draw. It wasn't Celtic Park they were playing at, it was at home against team, who were really no better throughout the ninety minutes. This fear of defeat attitude really annoys me, particularly when there was still time to try and win the game. Also (and this is linked to the last point), what was the deal with McKay change? Sutherland was putting in a great shift down the middle (something many of us have been calling for for months), but was moved the wing (where he's far less effective), with McKay playing the lone frontman role, where due the conditions and stage of the game, he was never going to contribute, and did not contribute anything. It seemed like a change to run the clock down more than anything else. Surely a straight swap of Doran for Pepper would've been the far more logical decision. Overall, I thought the aforementioned Sutherland and Foran put in excellent shifts, along with Andre Blackman who also played really well. Warren also looked fairly solid to me. On the other hand, Andrew Shinnie was not in the game at all and seems to have gone backwards since his injury. Doran as I said before, was not at his best (and has an air of Claude Gnakpa about him at times) and Graeme Shinnie, put in a hard shift, but is not a winger. Rotating him and Blackman though, could be a possibility. Finally, as I've said before, I don't think David Raven can play at this level. Another poor performance from him and it's one of many this season. Of the red card, I thought Jones's challenge was poor, but didn't warrant a red, though a yellow probably would've have been fair. Meekings' challenge in the first half was worse. Whether the red was for the language he used or not, is another issue. Overall, a decent second half, but ICT really need to finish teams off, particularly when they are there for the taking, and not playing for a draw as soon as the opponent equalises.1 point

Dire first half. Struggle to remember anything that happened to be honest. Second half saw a lot more action. Tudor Jones sending off was not, as Sky have it, for foul and abusive language. I am still undecided if I think it was harsh or not. At first I thought a yellow would have sufficed but I think that it could be argued that he was a bit OTT with the tackle and therefore it could constitute serious foul play. Regardless, I think he should have known better as it's not even as if the tackle had to be made. Clear red for Anderson though for me. Sutherland was lumbering towards goal and Anderson came through the back of him and took him clean out without getting anything on the ball. A certain sending off and Foran sent Langfield the wrong way to put ICT ahead. We should have bagged a second when we broke with four players v one Aberdeen defender yet somehow contrived to pass up the chance to get what would have a game killing goal. Doran took far too long on the ball and Reynolds (?) snuck in and cleared it. I think there could be some argument for a penalty and potentially another sending off but Doran should have buried the chance long before Reynolds even got a sniff of any attempted tackle. Terrible defending from ICT let Aberdeen in to equalise. Free kick was knocked down the right to Hayes (I think) who, under no pressure as the ICT defenders dozed in the middle of the pitch, was allowed to stand the ball up to one of the Aberdeen subs to place a header coolly beyond Esson. Overall a draw was a fair result but at times it was a desperately poor game. You can see why Aberdeen fans are so frustrated by their team at times. In Hayes and Fraser they have some excellent wide players who will create chances but they had absolutely nothing up front to put away whatever scraps were offered to their forwards. They didn't create too many clear cut chances today right enough but you'd imagine they will do over the course of the season. As for ICT it was a better defensive performance than recent games against Celtic and Motherwell. Hayes was contained well on his return and there were some meaty challenges flying in at times. Andrew Shinnie was disappointing. He never got going today. Graeme Shinnie did well at left midfield with Blackman performing solidly behind him. Doran was hugely disappointing and I feel that he could soon become the new Robert Eagle. He is too slow and can seldom get by his man. Today Hayes took our full backs to the cleaners at times but we never saw the same from Doran who struggled to get beyond his man on many occasions. A good point in the grand scheme of things but I do worry about where our goals to win games will come from. I know we have scored a few this season already but I honestly cannot see how this is the case. We look very one dimensional.1 point

First half poor . Second half.......now thats a game of football. It had everything in the game today red cards, penalty, great weather lol. Didn't seem to do alot in the first half was quite poor both sides. With both keepers trying to stay awake. Second half started off better with the game starting to flow alot better. Thought Foran played his heart the day as did the new boy Blackman he was amazing. Defence did alot of talking today which was a good sign. Raven well still not too sure about him. Sutherland was a super sub when he came on attack after attack holding the ball up and everything. Doran the new jonny hayes??? He will give alot of defenders trouble this season. Only thing i would have changed was getting McKay on earlier. I hate how TB always leaves it so late to change things MOTM: FORAN :clapping:1 point

Should we just start every game with ten men? It seems like we play better after we have a man sent off... I'd have taken a draw at half-time, and bitten your hand off if you'd offered it to me after Jones was sent off. Amazingly, I ended up feeling disappointed that we hadn't won. The first half might have been the most banal 45 minutes ever. The fans might as well have been sunbathing. Nothing actually happened on the pitch. The second half more than made up for it. My first instinct was that Jones should have seen yellow rather than red - but he leapt in, his leg was off the deck and it was reckless. The ref was well positioned to make the call. I felt sorry for Ryan Fraser, who was the victim of two rather bad tackles from Raven and Foran as well, and looked like he could barely walk by the time he was substituted. The other sending off, on the other hand, was a no brainer. Sutherland got through, and showed real presence of mind to cut across Anderson, meaning that the defender couldn't win the ball without bringing him down...and Anderson fell for it. If only we hadn't @rsed up that four-on-one break - how on earth did Doran squander that? - we would have taken all three points. Unfortunately, a pretty good defensive performance was ruined by a collective loss of concentration when Aberdeen took a quick free kick, and Cammy Smith was unmarked to head home from six yards out. Still, at least we're off the bottom. Some very good performances today. I thought Ross Draper was immense in midfield. Blackman slotted in well at left back, and until the goal I thought Warren and Meekings were solid. Foran had a rank first half but, after dropping into midfield when we went down to ten men, he was a changed man and must have covered every blade of grass in the second half. Sutherland had his best performance for aeons after he came on - it was gutting to see him stretchered off at the death. It wasn't really a day for either Doran or Andy Shinnie, who couldn't get on the ball enough to make an impact. I'll cut Ryan Esson some slack because of the wind, but he flapped at a lot of crosses. And I'm sorry, but David Raven was terrible yet again. As soon as Hogg, King, Cooper and Brislen-Hall are fully fit, I don't think he'll be anywhere near the team. And as for the manager - he is lucky the fourth official was in sympathetic mood, considering some of the abuse Butcher was giving the ref - turning around to the crowd and screaming "He's the worst referee I've ever seen" is usually enough to get you sent to the stands. It's the first case I've ever seen of a middle-aged man developing an acute case of Tourette's. At least this is a bit more positive than my last few after-match posts! Still think it's going to be a struggle against the drop, but I wonder whether the Dons might be one of the teams we're fighting with...1 point

Nice one, yet again he leaves everyone in the shitter. If thats his attitude, I hope Butcher is questioning letting him play again.1 point

Tudur-Jones sent off for the second time in six games. John Robertson calling it 'very harsh', but SKY Sports News has it as being for foul and abusive language. If the latter is the case, Butcher will have to think seriously about selecting him in future - that would be two completely needless and stupid red cards. He was also, by some distance, our worst player at Motherwell last week.1 point

Ffs. This season is rapidly becoming a joke through ill disipline. Surely that is OTJ's last game for ICT.1 point

Hayes Back at Inverness Jonny Hayes will be returning to Inverness on saturday, unfortunately only briefly as he will be playing for Aberdeen in this weekend's SPL fixture at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium. This will be Hayes' first visit to Inverness since joining the Dons at the end of last season and he will be relishing the prospect of lining up against his old team mates. I'm not sure our own fans are quite as enthusiastic about his return, but we have to get on with life after Hayes. The jury are still out on the Inverness back four after a second consecutive four goal bashing, Motherwell equalling Celtic's tally against us. It was a better performance than the scoreline suggests, but gifting goals has become an unwanted trait as this seasons newcomers look to settle down and give the free scoring forwards something to build on. Aaron Doran gave himself a massive confidence boost in midweek scoring twice for the Irish u21's in a stunning 4-2 victory in Italy. If he can transfer this form into the SPL games, then we may see the best of the young man from Charleville this season after last years injury disrupted campaign. Connor Pepper, Phillip Roberts, and Graeme Shinnie were also called up for international squads in midweek. On a lighter note, there has been talk on the Caley Thistle Online forum regarding the suitability of Terry Butcher to continue as the gaffer, a rather subtly entitled thread named Is butcher the man for the job (no comment, but we are not often seen in the same room). Well talk of this has now been overtaken by discussions about food and dairy products................Aye, it's been a slow news week right eenuff. Heres some quips to whet your appetite, all kicked off by Tichy_Blacks_Back who reckoned Terry was now doing the hospitality lunches as well, whereas LukeMackay reckoned he should be making piri piri chicken in Nando's which would help attract new players; that's why Hayes went to Aberdeen said RIG. There were of course some incredible revelations as Caley100 told us he ate a really hot pizza, and lost his sense of taste for a week whilst CaleyD prefers his mince and tatties from the Innes Bar, nom nom. Batchelors mushroom soup got a mention along with a bridge and a castle, as did Frankie and Benny's, KFC, TGI Friday, MacDonalds and Zizi's. Having raved about a Hungry Horse in Perth, ajsict is setting up tweet'n'eat parties after reading all this, while on another topic milk and dairy products came under scrutiny after a Staggy had the temerity to suggest that milk has been excluded from the players menu as it's too expensive. Spokesman Immortal Howden Ender was quick to dismiss this as a marketing ploy from a milk farm in Ross-Shire to re-assure the shocked Inverness fans. Apparently County fans were milking this on twitter said Capital Caley who also wanted to change their name to Ross Cownty, but Tichy_Blacks_Back preferred their udder name. A steering group was mooted by bughtmaster and that was the best idea herd yet as the comments flowed, but the normally optimistic Top Six Next Year urged caution as this could possibly turn sour. It's the Milky Way said tm4tj and the conversation moved to cows and goats, I kid you not, even strawberry milk shakes.....................who said supporting ICT was boring. Gringo has once again put pen to paper and after checking his old geography jotters here are his thoughts ahead of the game against the Dons ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Geography lesson for the SPL (Derby in Scotland?) I suppose every team has to have a local derby at some stage of the season and it appeared that our encounters with Aberdeen would be dubbed as such. Quite how a distance of 104 miles between the two clubs can be given such a title is beyond the realms of my intelligence! This season though we do have a real derby in prospect with ‘those up the road’ so the Dons game should become a normal game, I mean, Aberdeen isn’t even in the Highlands for goodness sake. (Is it?) This fixture has been subject, in the past, to re-arranged dates for the benefits of TV. Those end-to-end thrilling encounters must have had folk blocking the phone lines to Sky or ESPN to buy a subscription ......... I don’t think. For this fixture though we have a traditional Saturday date at 3:00pm which should attract a massive all-singing-all-dancing crowd (oh, hang on a minute…dancing? that’s not allowed) Over the years Aberdeen were fast becoming a bit of a bogey team for us as we never seemed to grab a win, home or away, in any competition. Our first encounter was a 3-0 home defeat in the League Cup back in 1998. In the SPL it took us fifteen attempts to record our first win and results have been mixed after that. Players from both clubs have made the journey to and from each other in search of success and/or first team football. Recently we lost Jonny Hayes to the Dons and we'll welcome him back to the TCS on Saturday...provided he has a poor game and leaves our benevolent defence alone that is. The Dons have players that can hurt us so, hopefully, Mr Butcher, along with Mr Malpas has been showing his defenders all of his International defending skills . There is no doubt that our style of football has changed drastically from that of last season. We have created more chances in front of goal during these first few SPL games but we still seem unable to find the net consistently. The result in Motherwell, whilst disappointing, wasn't as one sided as it sounded. Aberdeen have players that can hurt us and will do so if we are not on top of the defensive side of our game. The match isn't likely to be an end-to-end encounter and there will be goals, not many mind, but there will be goals. We have failed to keep a clean sheet in the SPL this season. To quote the Dons fans article in The Scotsman “There is a feeling that the team will finally click and, when they do, the opposition will be handed a heavy defeat. It’s hoped that this will happen sooner rather than later and it may be Inverness that suffer”. Well, having conceded eight goals in the last two SPL games it isn't difficult to see where he's coming from. Current form ICT:- As mentioned above, conceding eight goals in the last two SPL games doesn't make winning games very easy and when we have no prolific striker this just compounds the issue. In all fairness though, generally speaking, we haven't been playing too badly. Silly schoolboy errors at the back have cost us dearly. We sit joint top of the goalscoring chart and top by some margin of the goals against table. However, it's results that count on the day and with that in mind we are currently in relegation mode. Current form Aberdeen:- They only have one SPL win this season, which is one more than us. Despite the signing of ICT favourite Johnny Hayes, they too have failed to set the world alight. Their main worry is a lack of SPL goals and have only two to their name so far. At home they appear to be 0-0 specialists and the away form is only slightly better. They seem to be a better unit than last term though, proving difficult to break down which could be a worry for ICT. This fixture has been kinder to Aberdeen over the last six games, the Dons winning four against the two for Inverness. The highest scoring game was a seven goal thriller in 2008 when we had everything, two red cards, a late winner and a rare Roy McBain goal, a collectors item. Chris Maguire scored the winner in the fourth minute of injury time, something the Dons were getting adept at. The previous season Steve Lovell scored a late late leveller after Graham Bayne had opened the scoring, that was the last time these two clubs played out a draw at Inverness, eight games ago. 5,744 witnessed that game, I wonder how many still have the passion left for the game as the decline of Scottish football continues. Gringo's Prediction:– Another tough one to call. Dons can't score, we can't defend (or score enough). Does it have the makings of a 0-0 draw? No, I don't think so. Our defence concerns me and if they haven't been working on it in training then we could well be in for it. We aren't the tallest defence in the league so if Mr Hayes is allowed to get in his crosses (and shots) then we will be up against it. So, the key for me is, keep Hayes quiet and we may just do it...if not it could be any score. I think we can sneak this one with a nervy, nail biting, 2-1 victory. ***Latest Team News*** Inverness' Nick Ross is sporting a large scar after the operation to repair his damaged shoulder and will be in for a lengthy lay off. Good luck to him on his recovery. Chris Hogg is still out but is training now. Simon King remains an injury doubt for Caley Thistle ahead of Saturday’s home encounter against Aberdeen. Jason Oswell has recovered from his Achilles problem. Josh Meeking looks set to continue in defence should Simon King not recover from his ankle injury. Aberdeen boss Craig Brown has released Michael Paton despite some Dons fans having reservations over this, given that they have drawn blanks in their last three games. Broonie reckons that Paton was not going to be first choice as striker and this move will be in his best interests and will also realise the potential developement of other youngsters at the club like Cammy Smith, Ryan Fraser and Jordan Brown. Aberdeen have added an old new face to their backroom team in the shape of Jocky Scott. He joins other pensioners Brown and Knox as first team coach, mainly to develop the younger talents. The International break may have been enough time for Niall McGinn and Rory Fallon to recover from knocks, but Gary Naysmith and Rob Milsom are definitely out. Come on Caley Jags fans, let's get behind the team, remember, for better or for worse, that's what you signed on for. It's maybe not quite the US Open final but it's up to us to generate our own atmoshere and lift the gloom. Well done Andy.1 point

Ross County are riding high, on their best run of form in their history. They are unbeaten in 40 odd league matches, are in the top half of the SPL and, most likely, have the best side in their history. What are their fans talking about on their forum? How many tables ICT have sold for hospitality for a game not involving Ross County. Dear oh dear.1 point
