His choice of attire for Easter Rd later became clear.
  2. I have a feeling Terry and Mo will regret this more than us, onwards and upwards

Bitter as it may be whilst I enjoyed having Butcher and Malpas at ICT they are working for a rival now so I wish them nothing but misery. I hope we absolutely stuff Hibs the next time we play them.
  4. I suppose, like everyone else I'm just glad this is over. The longer it dragged on, the more Terry and Maurice's achievements would have been soured by the nature of their departure and they achieved too much at this club for that to happen. I'm glad the club offered Mo the chance to take over the reins and minimise the fallout from Terry's departure and I know how desperately disappointed Kenny Cameron will be right now, but he and his board have conducted business the way that Caley Thistle always do - the right way and they are to be congratulated on that. Like every Caley Thistle fan, I am now anxious about what comes next but I'm heartened by the statement tonight but I'm at least thankful for this international break as we draw breath. As Kenny says, we have a fantastic pedigree of appointing bosses and I look forward to seeing who emerges as candidates. In amongst all of this, don't forget the team who have got us this far in our best seaon to date and please get along to the Saints game in numbers to give them your loud, clear and unconditional support. They deserve it. Davie Balfour

I would guess that he will trot out the old mantra tomorrow that Hibs are a big club with a big support and the potential is there to take them from being a sleeping giant to somewhere far further than he could ever take ICT (due to lack of money/fans/infrastructure etc) ..... love Inverness, love ICT, love the Highlands but it was a challenge he just could not turn down !!! all that bullshit ..... Thank you for what you did at ICT Terry (and Mo) but you are history now and although you will always have my thanks and respect for what you did at my club, you have moved on, and its time for us to do the same. I mean no disrespect, but now you are managing one of our rivals I really do hope you fail miserably.
  6. Thank you Terry and Mo. Its been a blast. The last weeks antics have been lamentable but finally we can move on.
  7. I appreciate the fact that the club are keeping the fans informed as far as possible and don't think it will make a blind bit of difference in attracting candidates to what will be a much sought after position.

"What's the matter, you never seen a Hibs top before?"
  9. Shiels - no, NO, NO, NO !!!! I know its the daily record, but they are just quoting other sources ... http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/kilmarnock-manager-kenny-shiels-most-1942939
  10. I don't have anyone particular in mind. What's important is for the club to be clear about what they want from a manager. We have a great team here, many of whom are signed up to at least the end of next season, and which has demonstrated that it is capable of playing a good attacking passing game. We need that to continue, indeed we need to develop what we've seen this season and be more positive when we are ahead. We want someone who recognises that attack is the best form of defence and that the opposition is not going to score if you don't give them the ball. We are not a rich club and never will be. Managers need to understand that we need to focus on identifying and getting the best out of players who have unrealised potential. It also means having a strong youth development policy. There is simply no point getting a big name manager who is used to working with top players who then blames the failure of the team on the Board's refusal to spend big on players. Matching the manager with the strategy may not throw up the obvious candidates. But the club has come a long way and has a tremendous record of bringing in managers who do better here than they have elsewhere. Many of these managers have then been tempted by big money at a bigger club with a different philosophy and have failed miserably. The important thing for us as fans is to get behind the new manager whoever it is. The Board will be looking long term and it would be surprising if the new manager did not experience some dip from the elevated position we are currently in. I have confidence in the Board to make a good choice and look forward to the next chapter in the proud history of our club.

Do you know, I'm fed up of all the platitudes. Better just to say "No Comment" than give us some well rehearsed lies.
  12. As the press release says, we have a good track record of appointing managers who have led us to ever greater success. Terry and Maurice have done well for the last season and a half in particular and it would be churlish not to acknowledge that but I am looking forward with eager anticipation to the next exciting chapter in the remarkable rise of our wonderful club.
  13. What a cracking day out that was! On the back of whats been an anxious, agonizing and frustrating week for us we traveled down in good numbers, sang our hearts out and let our team do their talking on the pitch. We raced into that lead with ease as Hibs ran out of ideas almost straight from kick off, despite a couple of shaky moments at the back from Brill. Doran, Watkins, Ross and Shinnie overpowered their backline with some fine passing and smart runs and for the first time in weeks they were all looking to play in Wild Bill who took his goal terrifically. The only disappointment was that we didnt add to the 2-0 lead in the 2nd half as we would have more than deserved it. Billy, Doran and Watkins all came close but some of the football played, particularly on the counter attack was the best Ive seen all season. Hibs Im sorry (not really) to say were pathetic. They are not a team on the pitch, no understanding and no confidence between them, which is not helped by their dismal crowd who turned on them completely after about 20 minutes. They made it so easy for us at times. Tel will have more than a re buidling job on his hands when he gets there, he will more or less have to teach most of them how to play football again but that is not my concern. Only concern for me was see how the boys would cope after the week thats been. Each of them went out there with a point to prove and they more than did that. Whoever comes in (though I feel Mo has a strong case) is inheriting a top group of players. Fans were top notch as said and that just added to the day. Bring on the new chapter!
  14. Really like Kenny Cameron as chairman and think we're very fortunate to have one of the best, if not the best, chairmen in the league.
  15. Best: Signing for ICT Worst: Signing for Hibs
  16. Has there been no word about Steve Marsella staying or going? Would be good if the club could clear this up.

No matter his reasoning the B team have gone, we now however are left with an A Team of players. We have got a good idea of our Squad's capabilities and I am certain leadership will be found by our higher management. The B man once said Who knows what this Team can do or how far they can go Well Folks I think he is about to find out. I echo the onwards and upwards cry, Come on ICT your support wont desert you, you just get better and better.

Good riddance. As much as I've enjoyed having him here, he's more than welcome to try and sort out that mess of a club he'd prefer to be at now. I sincerely hope he fails miserably and gets the boot at the end of the season. Onwards and upwards.
  19. Levein for me, we need an experienced manager who can steady the ship, who has been successful in the past and can hopefully retain the core of the players that Butcher will no doubt try to lure to Hibs

. to show just how bitter I am, I want Dross County to pump Hibs in the cup: end of season for Butcher and co! Plenty of time for them to watch us clean up in all 3 comps!
  21. Well I would like to thank them for all they have done for the club. But after this last week I'm struggling with that. Anyway I'm sure they'll look back on their time at ICT as the high point of their managerial careers :D
  22. Al give the pair of em 2 seasons. Fenlon got Hibs back to Back Scottish Cup Final appearances and still that wasnt good enuff for them. Terry and Mo had it easy up here.Now...there is pressure for sucsess. They will regret this move, of that im sure.
  23. Thanks to Terry and Maurice for their contribution to our history, and for the legacy they presently leave in terms of our squad. Kenny Cameron's statement is articulate and eloquent, and I look forward to progress with the appointment of a new management team over the coming days/weeks. It would be nice to get some clarity on the situation with Steve Marsella though. One chapter of ICT's history is finished and I look forward to the writing of the next.

Agree. Butcher has made his move, happy to camp out with Hibs, before ICT, his employer have agreed anything with Hibs. I hope our board resist the pressure to do what Terry wants, and do what is in our interest, which is not to release him unless and until substantial compensation and anti-player and staff poaching agreements are in place. He seems to think he can do what he wants, when he wants, while still under contract. Given our position in the league and cup, and the potential damage that his move will make, and that he is under contract, then I do not see how he or Hibs can expect anything less than a very substantial compensation package is made. Until then, they can act as much as like as if the deal is done, but I don't see why ICT should be pushed around by these bullies. We hold the cards, I hope we play them properly. Let them sweat, we are in the right here, and shouldn't cave in to self-interested, disloyal demands, just because it suits them. What suits us is the important thing. Butcher could have made a private agreement to go to Hibs next summer if he really had ICT's interests at heart. Why the indecent haste of a turncoat?
  25. Fantastic performance by every player and supporter of ICT - shame it wasn't matched by our crest-fallen manager. The "Butcher, what's the score?" chant was crystal clear on the radio and said it all. Well done to everybody who went down to ER.
  26. That was six years ago. You don't think it is possible that Malpas has improved over the years, picked up some additional experience over time so he wouldn't make the same mistakes again?

Been otherwise occupied the past day or so what's the jive with our management?- Renegade/ICTChris - Manager OCG - Assistant IHE - Sports Psychologist Dougal - PR manager
  28. That's quite an astonishing revelation, Mahonio. I really hadn't thought about that. Thurso has a golf club!

"Butcher isn't the messiah. He's done a great job here the last few years, but it took just that - a few years." Your right! he's not the Messiah; he's just a very naught boy!
  30. Not as crazy as some of the names mentioned. So you wouldn't mind working under her?
  31. Scotty was, in my opinion, at least one NO and possibly two exclamation marks short....
  32. I really hope hearts turns their season around and hibs get relegated that would mean butcher and mo would get fired.... all they deserve. BACKSTABBERS is the only word that comes to mind!
  33. Larsson, with Foran assistant
  34. The poll on CTO will decide who gets the job.
  35. Well now it is over perhaps IHE will stop planting narcissus, should be a blooming good show by the Spring though.
  36. Scotty has plenty experience in maintaining this forum. We're in safe hands there at least!

I genuinely hope tb and mo fail miserably and never work in football again. No ambition at all and all for a few quid extra every week. Nobody can tell me different. Hibs will never do more than ict are currently doing.

Although we've had time to digest this news as it was just a matter of time it got confirmed, I'm feeling fairly confident. I don't feel the loss of Butcher is our loss, the loss of the club in this position is Butchers loss. We are the one in the strong position, therefore we are the ones that will attract managers to a job they wouldn't think about before. Who knows what managers will be in the hat and showing interest. The club is in its strongest ever position, and of course that's partly due to the management team but not solely. We now enter the next phase of life as an ICT fan, and I for one am quite excited about it.

Sad end - in my opinion a missed opportunity to put some real silverware on their managerial CV as job not yet done and to second guess what is coming 'they had not taken the club as far as it can go'. But hey ho onwards and upwards with the new team who have a couple of weeks to get settled in and continue the good work done already this season.
  40. Yes, all our former managers have failed when they thought they were moving upwards. I have no doubt at least 2 of them bitterly regret it. Join the club, Terry.
  41. Did they need to publicise the fact MM knocked back the chance to manage the club to be an assistant at Hibs ? Don't think it will help in attracting a decent new boss knowing he was only second choice after Malpas !!
  42. Terry and go to Hibs !whatta mistakea to make" ICT onwards and upwards
  43. This is going to be really tough - there are some shocking suggestions doing the rounds. We need a progressive manager who'll cinstantly command respect from this great group of players so that advances in January can be fended off. I have no idea who could do that, but it's not Jimmy Calderwood, Kenny Shiels etc.I will never be able to see past the 4-6-0 debacle when it comes to Levein, although maybe he could do a job (with Houston?) I love the Larsson idea for some reason, but I don't think he had much of a managerial record in Sweden and he'd probably not come anyway. Robbo and Wilson? Robertson sounded prety keen on the radio before the Hibs game (maybe I'm reading too much into it!), but I'm not convinced by the idea. Burley was excellent at Ipswich and Hearts - again couldn't cope with the Scotland job. Equally Hartley, Pressley etc: would they really command this team from the off? No idea! Good luck to Kenny and the board - I'm sure they'll get it right.....but not Shiels or Calderwood, please.

Why does everybody 'suck-up' to IHE? Anything he posts, regardless of how profound or speculative seems to be met with overwhelming approval. He could post a picture of a tin of Heinz beans and submit a random caption of 'Butcher's last meal' or some utter drivel and get around a dozen 'likes'!!!
  45. Today was a day that made me so proud to support Caley Thistle. It would have been no injustice to see us win by 4 or 5 goals, and we were inches away from it. In every position we bettered Hibs, and their players and fans were utterly subdued at the end. Shinnie, Foran and Ross bettered the others on the park merely by virtue of being better tha excellent. Watching Ben Williams going to be interviewed was like watching a man going to his own funeral, and he admitted so himself. It took Hibs rep a while to find anyone willing to face the press. I spoke to Kenny Cameron after the game, and he described both the team and the support as "magnificent" and due thanks. I think he understates things. He also spoke of the fans as being one of the main reasons that this team play out of their skins time and time again; words of a man who cares passionately for his club, and with that fierce passion at the helm we will always succeed. Whatever reason Terry Butcher had for being at the game in the company of his representative, in the Hibs stand is his, and his alone, to explain but it is not the behaviour the Caley Thistle fans would expect or demand of him, no matter the outcome of this saga. Today our team showed why we deserve to be second top of this league, and they also showed why that level of achievement is not dependant on one man, and never will be. Second top? better believe it, it's the least we can achieve this year.
  46. We don't hate Hibs. Far from it. We wish we could play them every week.
  47. We really should've won that game 4 or 5-0. I thinkif the deflection from the defender that hit the post not long after we went 2-0 up had gone in we'd have probably scored six. Richie Foran was magnificent, after a display like that I don't think it'd be a bad idea to make him player-manager for the rest of the season. Dominant in the park, good on the ball and utterly committed. I love the man. Graeme Shinnie had one of his best games I've seen him, he defended dilligently, didn't get caught out of position and was a huge attacking threat. He runs so directly with the ball but from right back he can cut inside and cause problems. I can't think of another attacking full back who plays on his opposite side, it must be unusual for opposition players to deal with. Nick Ross also had a magnificent game. I've often thought that Nick Ross looked as though he kept threatening to up his game to another level but never really delivered. Today he arrived, perhaps the goal gave him confidence but he seemed to find space, he used the ball brilliantly and attacked Hibs aggressively and directly. On another day he could well have bagged a couple of assists, the little dinks and through balls for McKay almost came off several times. I'm really pleased for him, if he keeps that going he'll be a replacement for Andy Shinnie. I also enjoyed Dean Brill falling over every time he moved more than five yards.
