Just back from the game and defrosting! As others have said it was a very strong team that we put out. I was really pleased with the performance from James Vincent. I thought he has done well to get back from injury and he done really well to get back play the way we seen at the start of the season. Ross Draper and James Vincent were playing in the holding midfield role and we put in a good defensive performance. I was surprised to see Conor Pepper play at Right back today but kudos to him as he was a hard little worker running up and down the right wing. His crosses could have been a bit better but other than that he played really well. Ryan Christie for me was Man of the Match, he is coming on really well as a player and you can see the confidence from his stint in the first team pay off. Calum Ferguson was a second half sub and he done really well to come on and score 2 good goals. Matthew Cooper unfortunately got injured and had to come off early in the first half. I thought Ryan Esson had the best game I have seen him in U20 but in saying that it's more of a testament to the defence and James Vincent and Ross Draper. As has been stated after the Aberdeen game, John Hughes has a massive selection headache but the players have really improved lately.
  2. I believe it's true that you don't see an accurate representation of a game and individual performances on TV. Mckay's a far better striker than Rooney IMO, far quicker and has a far better work rate.
  3. I'm looking forward to it but worried so e getting wayyyy too cocky. For hearts the league is a goner and this is all they've got left. However, if we play the way we can there shouldn't be anything to worry about? Yip. This will be Hearts last opportunity to do anything at all this season and they will be dangerous highly motivated opponents not to be taken lightly.

  5. Interesting to see the bizarre comment from Adams yesterday in trying to take as much personal credit as possible for County's surprisingly comfortable win against Dundee Utd. The BBC quotes him as saying "It takes a brave manager to do what I have done today and play six new players". Adams should reflect that the six new players have been brought in to address the mess created by his failure to put a decent side together. It is Adams' ineptitude which has forced his chairman to dig deeply into his pockets to finance a rescue act. Without this influx of players, County would be firmly rooted in 11th place and would be heading for the play-offs. Brave, my *rse! Had Adams not played the players the Chairman has financed he might well have been looking for another job next week.
  6. Dean Brill appeared to be more confident and aggressive yesterday and did well!.
  7. He played in Brewster's first game back in a 3-1 League Cup win against Arbroath. Played quite well that day too. He went onto play for Ross County for a while before being linked with a return to us. He's now at Maidstone United, Ben Greenhalgh's old club. Ally Ridgers - Strange one this. Two spells with us (came through the youth team initially IIRC), yet made a grand total of zero appearances in both spells. We also went for him after Mark Brown left and we failed to Vito Mannone then of Arsenal. He was playing for Clach at the time! He's now at Brora Rangers and DJs part time under the name "Technique" (no really!).
  8. Do you mean you don't want him to go past his sell by date?

Towards the end of the second half, with ICT in command, Ryan Christie "ghosted" past a defender in such a manner that the comment was made "that was just like John White in days of old". It really was great to see - we await much more from young Mr Christie, a future star no doubt. Conor Pepper fought for every ball, like a terrier, a great player and worthy of a new contract - please note Mr Hughes, Mr Latapy and Mr Cameron.

there's only one danny williams, one danny williams, walking along, singing a song, walking in a williams wonderland :)
  11. So Ryan Stevenson is an overinked beaut, poor lad has been labelled on this forum bwahahahahahahahahahahhahaha
  12. Was that not Jamie Hamill? Ah. Yeah, come to think of it, you might be right about that. Obviously I must just think that Stevenson looks like the sort of person that would make sexually provocative gestures at an innocent, impressionable young supporter.
  13. That was Jamie Hamill. Ryan Stevenson looks like the kind of person who'd shag your wife and steal your microwave.
  14. RiG will be relieved by this news - he's probably still traumatised by Stevenson making sexually provocative gestures at him during our last win at Tynecastle.
  15. Considering we were once in that league dont you think the description is a bit condescending and unfair to the many part time teams that make up the Scottish league system.

Not where Alex Bone is concerned!

In the end Ben Greenhalgh looked the part too. Conor was like a little tiger at right back.

Is Charlie Christie a coward then?
  19. Kind of quite happy that Billy didn't score and Stevie May got 3 - puts the focus more on him potentially for any teams sniffing about. Maybe! I had a feeling this game would finish 1-0. Although not to us!

Williams --try him for the penalties. That goal he scored was a real cracker and no mistake. Aberdeen simply ran out of ideas in the second half. I felt that Caley Thistle were cool, calm and collected for the most part whereas Aberdeen huffed and puffed to no avail. ICT's intricate passing between them in midfield resulting in Aberdeen's inability to control the game although in the first half the Dons sure had their share of the ball. Cool Caley seems to have mastered the one-touch passing that we saw yesterday. At times they looked like a very assured and fast-paced side.
  21. Hibs are much improved since Terry and Mo went there. Acknowledging that isn't a crime.
  22. County living away above their means shocker, Dork Adams fecks up the first half of the season - again, and Mr Money bags comes running to bale him out again. Just a bunch of mercenaries, all will be away in April no doubt.
  23. Yogi has actually brought considerable freshness to the squad through the introduction of a range of players and to see Evans get a few minutes also deserves mention. Evans looked far more professional than Toby so here's hoping he gets more game time too and who knows, could help spread goal scoring around a bit. A lesson for all football supporters - never get too cocky. Aberdeen's bubble was growing and I think they thought they had an easy three points against a 'weakened' ICT team. Yogi said 'bring it on' and the team found their early season principles of putting themselves in the firing line in defence whilst at the other end Aberdeen's back four was amazingly shaky. Aberdeen's supporters shouted 'stand up for the champions' with the ICT supporters thinking who do they mean? Are they now honoring Celtic? Big and difficult period coming up for ICT but special thanks to Ross County for their assistance yesterday.
  24. What a result! TBH I wasn't expecting that given Aberdeen's recent form, but looks like perhaps our winter 'blip' might be over. Have watch some of the BBCAlba coverage on IPlayer and we looked like we played pretty well....Shinnie really growing into the midfield general role, also helped that Tremarco is very solid in LB. Doran looking dangerous as well, and great that Vincent is back. Still want a decent option for or to support Billy up front though. Need to watch all 90mins later! I was in a lounge at Palace after our 1-0 win, and got some puzzled looks when I 'wooped' when ICT's result came up... made for a happy evening. Prospects of bring wife and eldest daughter up for games in the future!
  25. The only headache that Yogi will get is from the terraces. He is going to have to axe some players and that is bound to upset a few if not many. Cometh the Hour. The biggest decision of the lot lies with Foran. As Yogi is more of the old school and I suspect is twitchy with the one up front system it would not surprise me if he went with. BRILL RAVEN WARREN MEEKINGS SHINNIE DRAPER TANSEY VINCENT MCKAY FORAN WILLIAMS
  26. Note that there are still a few sitting on the fence regarding Yogi. Let just call them the Humpty Dumpties. Butcher would NEVER have adapted the team and the system in the manner that Hughes has. I strongly suspect that he will adhere to some of the players. Tansey will have benefitted from his spell at Stevenage and may be the "buy" of the season. Williams has the skill and the touch. He just needs a run in the team and Doran may be the fall guy.

Nice ETA: ICT.png lol , gotta love Mr Happy in the white hoody.
  28. In the cool light of late evening I' m reflecting on just how good that win was. If I'm honest I expected us to lose today, as I suspect did many other ICT supporters. But now I can see that win as a stepping stone to a successful second half of the season. And that will be just reward for the fantastic start we made to this season. It would have been difficult to watch us slowly drift down the league, even to 7th place or below. But now, based solely on how we played today, I am optimistic that we will challenge for second spot. A cup win, or two, is not out of the question either. At times today we played the best football I have seen us play since a spell against Killie at their place a couple of seasons ago when, for about 20 minutes, we were simply fantastic (even though we only won 2-1 in the end!). Coupled with Latapy joining as assistant, Tansey rejoining and being terrific today, and maybe Hughes beginning to find his feet, I am all of a sudden hugely optimistic for the remainder of the season. With a severely depleted team today (no Warren or Draper), our defence was simply immense. In fact it will be a hard job for Hughes to decide who to drop to accommodate these two back into the starting line up. Nice problem for him to have. What with Williams , at last, showing how well he can play, I say again, we have every chance of realising the potential that the first half of the season promised. Roll on the next few weeks!
  29. I suppose my overall reaction to the game was ..... bags of spirit/fight This however does not detract from the good football on show, right through the team and the ability to stay calm in possession was superb BUT not good for my health! If this is the managers doing ... all I can say is " what is the name of the English guy who left us and what is the name if his new team?" I do realise that this could be a one-off but let's not be negative tonight.
  30. Fantastic result against a team which I view to be the best in the rest of the league. I'm no fan of Hughes but even I have to say that was a very impressive showing so well done to him and the team. Our goal was very well taken. A quick counter attack down the right ended with Doran knocking a ball across the goal. Mckay stretched for it but only managed to get a faint touch on the ball which luckily found its way to Williams at the back post who lashed it into the net off the bar. Whilst Aberdeen had a number of chances they were all from set pieces and there were very few which were clear cut. ICT on the other hand seemed to be doing their best to try and keep the game close by not putting away the better chances which fell our way, particularly in the second half. Mckay and Shinnie passed up great chances to secure the game for us but Mckay pulled his shot wide after being played through, by Tansey I think, and Shinnie hit the bottom of the post with a lovely curling effort. Aberdeen were at their most threatening from corners with Robson getting some really dangerous balls in on top of Brill with the conditions making it really hard to deal with high, lofted balls. Vernon Crespo should have done better in the first and I think Considine or Anderson also had a good chance from a header as well. The defence was, at times, struggling to cope, and the midfield occasionally got over run but that can be expected with the players we have out. But the guys who did play today really put in a great shift (© John Hughes) and battled for every ball they could get near. Shinnie especially was fantastic in the middle of the park. MotM by an absolute mile with other great performances from Mckay and Williams who was a real live wire down the left hand side.Tait really struggled with him and had to be subbed off in the second half. Tansey and Vincent came on and both offered us a bit of freshness to carry the ball away from defence. Indeed it was Tansey who was setting up some of our chances late on with some clever balls in behind the Dons defence. It might be interesting to try him in behind Mckay once Foran and Draper return and take up the CM slots. All in all a great performance, despite some very nervy moments, and one that all of the ICT guys can be very proud of. Now for the long trip down to Killie...

Had a computer crash, just managed to get through the week without going mad but I see nothing has changed THE FEW are jumping down Tansey's throat before he kicked a ball for us today....as expected! Well by all accounts he had a good stint against the Dons this afternoon, so looks like the Tansey is going to bloom for us. Welcome back lad you just show how wrong these doubters are !
  32. Our starting line up had an average age of 23.7. United's was 26. Our full squad today had an average age of 23.3. United's was 24.2
