Inverness CT -V- Dundee Utd
2 pointsI thought the first half was the best I have seen at home all season. My man of the match would have been Danny Devine - good defensively and excellent use of the ball in possession. Closely followed by Danny Williams - good use of his speed to make tackles and willing to take men on when that was better than passing to someone in a tight position. Disappointed that we failed to keep it up in the second half but hopeful that this is a sign of better things to come.2 points

2 pointsLike most posters, I thought we played okay for most of the first half, passing was better and quicker with less time spent playing it across the back before going forward. Though Williams was a revelation at left back and displayed good skills. United sussed out the lack of height in our defence and sent on another tall forward at the start of the second half and then bombarded our penalty area with crosses and should have scored before they did although it certainly looked a foul on Brill from where I was sitting. The other thing about the second half was that we started to sit far too deep which invited United on to us although it does say something about how we played that most of there attempts were long balls/crosses with not a lot of football played. Overall, an improvement on previous weeks in what I thought was an entertaining game. if anyone didn't think it was an entertaining game, not sure what they really expect from a match. I was really disappointed at the gamesmanship displayed by Dundee Utd and not for the first time they have been here. Players going down at the slightest contact to win free kicks, conning the referee and even the keeper at the end who rolled about as if he head been almost decapitated until he found out there was no danger. It truly sickens me that some teams seem to have to do this. The referee certainly didn't help being conned on every occasions and making some bizarre decisions. I don't think we have had many breaks from referees at home all season. Anyway some encouragement for next week and roll on next season.2 points

2 pointsYou are just another "victim" caught in the crossfire Nick Ross - to me - is the most annoying player that we have - he can look like a real winner one week and go to the other end of the scale the next. He has the experience, he has a bit of pace, he can certainly pass and score BUT I cant believe that he has not muscled up over the years - he looks the feckin same. Poor Nick has turned in to a bit of a squad player and a good late substitute - and that is all down to inconsistency.2 points

2 pointsThought there was some good football played by us in the first half but if you don't get that second goal the inevitable will happen. Good display by Christie and after last performance against Ute I'll take the point although I think we could have had all 3. Those guys at half time were awesome, yep I was one o the golden oldies, made our day even at our age and stature!!!!!2 points

2 pointsHaving watched the game I thought the team did very well considering we had 4/5 first team regulars out! Unfortunately the consensus on this site seems to lean towards the negative aspects of the game - definitely not a positive but certainly the easier way to go. There was certainly signs of Hughes' new methods taking shape especially first half and Williams, Tansey and Christie did very well. Sadly Doofers Dad, Renegade, Kingsmills etc. will thrive on the negatives and have a field day that we didn't beat a team that pay over twice our average salary and have over twice the number of season ticket holders than ICT enjoy? But moaners will be moaners!2 points

2 pointsWe were most certainly not second best. It was an equal game, as the scoreline shows. Neither was it dull, unless your thing is watching sides lump the ball up the park. it's not mine. Pressure was created when United brought on El Alagui to go a very tall three up front and they got back in with a goal that I would really like to see again, although it might just be down to the lack of height. Midfield coped well, and Danny Williams was stand out for me, in an unfamiliar position. For what its worth, neither Meekings or Warren have "had enough", merely injury and illness that has intervened. My arab contact reckoned that draper was mightily effective and christie impressive in a system that he reckoned was very close to that played by United. My name ain't Jim, but it's definitely football.2 points

2 pointsTremarco didn't get involved in that tippy-tappy nonsense today, though. Was impressed with the fact that he looked to feed Williams, and if that wasn't on, he got the ball forward - i.e. as far from our goal as possible.2 points

2 pointsInjury and illness is the official line Rumour has it Warren and Meekings have finally given up on the tippy tappy passing across the back that Hughes keeps asking them to play. Plus they were at the heart if the defence that shipped 6 goals last week. The team today impressed in the first half especially when moving the ball forward at pace. Unfortunately they were pinned back for long spells in the second. Happy with the point despite chances to win. Don't know about Josh but Warren has tweeked a hamstring! Source btw is the horses mouth!2 points

2 pointsWas it not simply to allow the crowd to show their appreciation to Ryan Christie who had scored on just his 2nd start and had been named as the sponsor's MOTM? No disrespect to Nick but a nice gesture to Ryan.2 points

1 pointCheers Mannie, eh'm touched! Bad planning by my travel secretary means I'm sunning myself in Tennerife and wasn't even at the gemme, but got live stream working in the pub much to the amusement of locals and staff who wondered what the excitement and frenzy was all about! As word of the bizarre Accies-Morton score filtered through and Dumbarton scored it had nightmare finish written all over it, thankfully not and hectic night in Las Americas ensued with mate and wives. See ya next year in the Innes/ Caley club :-)))))1 point

1 pointRimet, It was obvious that Christie need to be substituted earlier as while he was good in the first half, he did fade badly in the second half and was guilty of losing possession too easily. That is not having a go at Christie but he is still learning as a footballer and the change needed to be made earlier. The same for Watkins who did fade badly as well and not for the first time this season in the second half. If you think Aaron Dorran contributed nothing in the match, you obviously were not watching the same game.1 point

1 pointI think you should offer some of that in-play betting to keep the fallers interested. How many corners ICT will win. How many bookings. How many minutes till Billy scores again. Which club will be our glamour friendly. How many post-split games Naelifts will make it to.. Errr, hold on..... Which joke is the elusive 'Mantis third joke'? Does it involve a bus or is that the mythical 4th joke?1 point- Welcome Back HeilanDee
1 pointYep, will be good to give Hartley an ear bashing. He never wanted the job. Stuff him.1 point- Welcome Back HeilanDee
1 pointYip. Good to see the big Dundee team back in the top division. Will be intriguing to see next season how the manager who was favourite for the ICT job fares compared to the manager who was appointed in the Premiership with broadly similar resources.1 point- nick ross
1 pointAbsolutely. He wouldn't be in my starting line up at the moment but there is no doubting his talent. It's interesting to watch him in the warm up routines before a match when he is as good as anyone in playing the 1,2 with the coach and burying the ball in the back of the net. It doesn't happen on the park though and when he does have the opportunity to shoot he is more likely to pass. He is a good passer of the ball and his ball control is good. He has the ability to drift past players from time to time but doesn't do it enough. It maybe sounds silly but sometimes with the way he moves and his natural balance he reminds me a bit of George Best. But - and it's a big but, he doesn't pressure the opposition enough when they have the ball, as Caleyboy says, he doesn't fight hard enough for the 50:50 balls and he doesn't take enough responsibility for making things happen when he's on the ball. It is hugely frustrating because he has the potential to be a superb player. I think you have to accept that his physique is what it is and I agree with Ronaldo that it needs a good manager to get him to believe in himself and motivate him to show more aggression in his game. It may actually be Latapy rather than Hughes who can convince Nick of his ability and what he needs to do to realise his potential. Until he does toughen up mentally I can't see him featuring too much in Hughes' line ups.1 point- Parkhead yesterday
1 pointTo be fair to us bad boys, it was an opportunity not to be missed. We do realise the seriousness of the situation and hope all is well with the folk involved. I am sure those working towards a resolution to the incident will let us all know the outcome. I have a replacement drum if required, just get in touch.1 point- Quality Journalism At Its Best

Cant end this on yet another morbid comment - Bring on Europe in 2015/20161 point- nick ross
1 pointI think this is a ridiculous complaint, managers take on players with minutes/seconds to go every week While some, including myself may have doubts about Yogi having a go at him for this is uncalled for.1 point- nick ross
1 pointUnfortunately we have many posters who are clearly suffering from the aftermath symptomatology of the narcissistic influence. Co - dependency can fester.1 point- nick ross
1 pointMostly related in a 2+2=5 formulation aimed at John Hughes ? Most managers bring on players with minutes to spare to run down the clock or give a MOTM the recognition he deserves....seems to me as though people can't wait to criticise Yogi.1 point- Inverness CT -V- Dundee Utd
1 pointAt least Renegade usually comes up with a rationale fer his comments - and if you read them instead of pre-judging then they are often a mix of good and bad. Again if you read through this thread the majority of posts are mixed - becos there have been many that have been simply only sniping and criticising I suspect that many are being protective and defensive and overly complimentary. I have been missing in action fer a few weeks but am I right in saying that we do have a Plan B and more. It takes time to adapt to a new system and the team have to adapt to a mix of patient build up and swift counter attack. Am I wrong or is that summat that we deployed whe we had Niculae entrenched? My concerns are that slowing it down becomes habituall but that is where Latapy should be an influence. My other concern is that we have a wealth of talent that play on the touch lines. It looks like Yogi is either getting rid or changing. That is the type of football that I pay to watch. The final and major concern is that we could materialise into a structured, organised and solid unit - but minus that important entertainment ingredient. By the way - did anyone notice how many goals Cellic scored yesterday ? Did anyone notice what is happening in Leith and Tinkerville ? I would far rather be whingeing about performance in the safe haven of the Top Six than be scouring the table trying to figure out all the permutations. Great to see Dungdee back and come on you Queens - may even travel to Dumfries if the Messiah is in the manure1 point- Inverness CT -V- Dundee Utd
1 pointWell someone's in a bad mood! 1. My name is Renegade. 2. Negative posts on everything? Oh, you mean focussing on the things you don't agree with and ignoring the rest (have a read of my comments about Williams and Tremarco). I also try to be as constructive and back-up my points as much as possible and be respectful of others with opposing views. 3. Christie and fatigue. Yeah, maybe 70 minutes then, but to me he looked shattered and seemed to be tighter marked in the second half. I'd have like to see Ross on earlier to try and unlock the door. He played well, as did Draper and a good few others. 4. Watkins was quite good and Doran tried hard, but little came off for him today. Acceptable? Well they tried hard so yes. Before you attempt to try and portray me as some kind of non-fan or a crocodile wallowing in a swamp of negativity, I've only missed two competitive games all seasons, attended a fair few of the pre-season friendlies including Keith and Charlton and every U20 match I can (including trips to places on weeknights where I was the only away fan there!). I'll be on my way to the stadium soon to renew my season ticket as well. Why are you so angry? I quick skim of your posts all seem to be attacks on other posters and I seem to be the one you really don't like. Why? Why can't we be friends? See you in Motherwell!1 point- Inverness CT -V- Dundee Utd
1 pointI was very impressed by Williams and Tremarco. Like others were saying, we played well for the first 35 minutes or so and then lost our way. Could still do a bit more forward passing and what about Tansey's cross-field ball in the build up to Christie's goal? Outstanding. Christie was decent, but I thought he looked shattered after about an hour and should have made way for Ross. Oh yes and that referee - what an eejit!1 point- Inverness CT -V- Dundee Utd
1 pointWilliams excellent in first half. Christie excellent for an hour. Brill suspect at times. Devine good game. United much the better team in second half, they had a real go by shoving on extra forwards early. Nick Ross must be out of favour if he could only get on for Watkins (who was poor in second half) very late. Ref rubbish, Crowd very good, over 3000 home fans for an end of season match is good. The big success of the day was the playing of Iain Innes's favourite songs at half time, a very decent touch for a very decent bloke, RIP1 point- Inverness CT -V- Dundee Utd
1 point1) Fair point 2) Bit harsh, but we could have been better 3) You'd think we'd learn, but I thought he did OK. Defenders need to stop giving him ball and man passes 4) Too kind. Clueless, useless and shight are better words 5) No. He's gash 6) Fair point1 point- nick ross

1 point- Should Hughes be SACKED?
1 pointTsk tsk, you should always round up after 5. The nearest sig fig and all that. The team have not been playing brilliantly, but even as bad as Yogi appears, form under him is of that of around 7th place, not relegation fodder. Well, they do, and while they can leave they either have to go at the end of them or pay an exit fee, even IF they envoke the Webster rule which there are absolutely no indications of players being that unhappy at all at ICT with Hughes in charge. If ICT were relegated next season it would be highly likely that a) any out of contract players would likely leave yes, and try and stay in the top flight. b) the club would likely accept any decent bids for still contracted players to make up for the loss of money due to drop in division. and c) we would need to get any of the higher earners of the wage bill anyway (even though they would have clauses for wage drops) If ICT are not relegated, and an better offer comes in from a bigger club, and even if we were doing well (as last season) and on the up we'd still run the risk of losing top talent to bigger clubs. Did you not see what happened with Tudor-Jones and Andy Shinnie? Butcher did not have Ranger and Hearts in the league, as well as the usual suspects Falkirk and Hamilton. It could take 3 season for them to get up though it could arguably be said they'd be the best off financially. How bad do you actually think it is at ICT? From everything I've seen the players seem to like Hughes, even if results haven't been great. ALL the out of contract 1st team players signed new deals AFTER Butcher left. Some long term. They want to stay, not force a move via the courts and face a long protracted and likely costly legal battle. I'm not trolling either. I'm just pointing out pretty obvious facts. And yes the scenarios are all possible. But if I will the Euro millions there is also the likelihood I'd invest a little in my favourite club. Maybe even an improved main stand and a standing structure opposite the main stand, as well as some money towards a new training complex and academy...... This would have to be a roll over mind.1 point- Any good news?

1 pointI believe we are confirmed as finishing 6th after Falkirk lost to the Rangers tonight. Another top-six finish for the top team in the Highlands. But it's the taking part that counts of course.1 point- Should Hughes be SACKED?
1 pointDoran - contracted to end of 2015/16. The rest all contracted to the end of 2014/15 ... so any summer move is going to cost Hibs. Cannot see them paying out for 5 ICT players especially as Butcher has probably been told to do what he did here and unearth cheap/free gems ! Besides ... why would they want to drop down a division ?1 point- Any good news?
