  1. I really enjoyed going to the game tonight. The atmosphere at the stadium was great, partly due to the number of supporters Hearts brought with them, but mostly because our own support were really getting behind the team. The team seemed fresh and revived and it's good to read all the debate on this thread about who the main players were - plenty to choose from. I'm especially pleased for all the new season ticket holders who must have been wondering about their investment till now. It also made a pleasant change to have a ref. who didn't hate us!
  2. Great result after a dire first half. Liked Storey, he looked quite quick and took his goal well. Maybe he'll be the finisher we've been missing. What great work by Christie for Vincent's goal too. Pleased for Tansey that he re established himself and got MOM after a couple of below par performances. Only downside for me was our other new boy, Tobi Sho-Silva getting the Hearts player sent off. Many of us still remember how we felt when scum bag Neil Lennon did something similar to Juanjo many years ago. So, for me, Tobi can feck off back to Charlton if he thinks that is acceptable. Apart from that a great win which should do our confidence no end of good.
  3. Yaaaaaasssssssssssss!!! Order restored! On Silva... yeah don't like it but he has been punched in the face so he has every right to make the referee aware of it. Better that than getting involved and sent off.. Storey, might just be what we are looking for Get in.. great start to the weekend!!
  4. Good to see Meekings and Vincent back and new boy Storey certainly justified his starting place. Getting Draper back to his usual position gave us more bite in midfield and helped make Tansey a bit more effective again. With Tremarco back at Left back Williams was freed up to a more attacking role and with the new lads coming in there is now serious competition for places despite the on-going injuries. But for me, the most pleasing thing about tonight's performance was the way we defended the lead. After a spell of Hearts pressure we made a couple of attack minded substitutions and a proper game of football broke out. Rather than just sit deep and absorb the pressure (or, far too often, fail to absorb the pressure) we went looking for a 2nd goal and were rewarded with an excellent finish by Storey. After a dismal first half we got some fan friendly footy and the crowd responded accordingly. Let's have more of the same, please!
  5. Enjoyed that tonight. Much more solid shape with players back in natural positions. Worked hard pressing when not on the ball. And a clean sheet is always welcome. Now we just need draws all round in the SPL tomorrow to gain some ground on everyone.
  6. I haven't been this excited about a striker since Andrew Barrowman scored on his debut.
  7. The Never Ending Storey
  8. It's good to see quality newbies compliment a good team. Instead of seeing a quality team change for news players. An enjoyable match which we dominated for large spells.Instead of the same old story, it's looking like a new chapter in our 21 season.
  9. Yes, I suppose so, but I still say Tobi 'bought' the red card for the Hearts player as the 'clenched fist' would not have knocked over a fly. Unacceptable gamesmanship by Tobi in my book. If Gary Cornish goes down as easily as that in his big fight tomorrow, the fight will be over within 30 seconds!
  10. Because he once played for Celtic.....
  11. Fantastic result....second half sounded better than first, first match back for Vincent and he gets a goal....thats 2 in 2 now! And welcome to Miles Storey...always good to score on your debut Meekings back, and apparently Hearts had not one shot on target? Vigurs influential? Certainly a good way to start the weekend!
  12. I thought Tansey had a great game personally.
  13. Well maybe not a classic but a bloody good win.....well done ICT
  14. Reminds me a bit of season 07/08 when we lost our first 6 games, then a home win v Hearts got our season started. (late Brewster winner, North stand erupted!)
  15. Sorry but Jho Silva nearly scores but went down like a bag of tatties to get the Jam Tart sent off - hope Yogi gives him grief. Disgrace. But what a feckin finish from Storey. What made the difference _ IAN VIGURS -,different class
  16. I've walked a thousand Miles for one of your goals ohh Milesssss - hope that is the story tonight.

A huge step up in class for Gary when he takes on Olympic Heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua in London tomorrow evening. The Highlander is the outsider but is not without a chance of maintaining his 100% record and truly announce himself on the World stage. All the best Gary.....
  18. What's getting to me is that fact we've signed 2 players to add depth to the squad but it's 2 players that are 20 and 21...how are they old enough to be playing when apparently it's to early to play Ferguson and Sutherland? Surely if our own 2 are decent quality then they should be given a shout before recruiting 2 other young players that haven't proved anything! I still think we need to give our own lads a chance but can we keep the loanees...both made great first impressions!

Or had the fans carry him up perhaps, the 12th man, always supporting the team. Seems that according to BBC preview Meekings, Vincent and Foran are available. Silva and Storey also in contention.

  22. Let's give him a chance eh?
  23. Och, it's not the way I would have written any of this - but in a sense a lot of this is whip-lash from winning the cup. Shinnie was away before that, of course - but arguably his desire to leave on a high was the catalyst for such great performances. Marley Watkin's cup heroics played a part in him attracting a move - doing it in the big games is always going to earn you attention. I think it's understandable that there is a hangover in terms of performance and motivation after winning almost the biggest prize that the club is likely to be in the running for in the forseeable future - and just winning silverware is more than a lot of the players in that squad would have ever anticipated doing in the game. Russell Latapy might have seen it as a sign that he needed to push out and try management, and for both Nick Ross and Ryan Christie, it was a watershed moment. Hughes has undoubtably played a shorter game in terms of squad management than previously was his style at Falkirk and Hibs - and that's left us in a bit of a mess this season. Would I trade comfortable mid-table anonymity this season for the Cup? Would you?
  24. I have kept quiet long enough, I am sick of the doom and gloom merchants telling us how clever they are by telling us our manager is not doing the right things. Next you will be saying that J H has done nothing for the club. You didn't want him in the first place and now you are ' calling ' him again. Why can't you lay off and give him another chance to prove you wrong and the same goes for our new arrivals, they haven't even unpacked their cases and you are not satisfied with them. What a welcome what a wonderful impression of our Club and supporters you are giving them.......sad sad sad!

We need Richie to get more playing time so he'll be 100% match fit in time for the rough and tumble of the C***ty game and beyond.
  26. Theres a fair bit of money recieved by the club in the last 12 months with not very much it seems been re-invested in threadbare squad. Im not blamin the manager as am pretty sure he will be quietly just as unhappy as most fans are that he's not been backed by the board This is the worst squad ever now after injuries and at the moment every match day team fills me with fear Fans turning on each other ceartinly is not the way ahead when for me its Kenny Cameron and his band of merry moneymen that are the real issue, to put it bluntly wheres all the money gone mr Chairman??
