Looks like it will be forfar going up tbh but its not over yet. Anyway hope yous enjoyed your day in the CITY and a terraced ground for once instead and was fine to hear a foreign language in elgin all the best for the premier league surely things can only get better for you lot
  2. I actually think it's a good draw. A guaranteed six figure pay day with the distinct possibility of a further cash windfall for live TV could well mean that we are able to strengthen further for the remainder of the league campaign. Also, we have a very decent record against them in this tournament especially in Glasgow.
  3. Also, how much better does 3 and a half thousand look when there's terracing or grass banks to stand and watch a game? Instead of sparsely populated all seater stadia?! Rules and attitudes from the powers-that-be need to move with the times, or in fact, revert to older times.
  4. I doubt that very much. A cup visit to Parkhead would have been your club's biggest match this century whereas such trips are routine for us at least twice a season. The cash generated is a welcome wee windfall for us which might enable us to recruit one additional player whereas that sum would transform your finances for this season and next. An indication of how far we've come and how far you haven't.
  5. Agreed and the fact that the rules on the tournament permit the use of two goalkeepers and to allow the fans to assist by pulling down their players in the box when playing in Glasgow against Celtic is an added bonus.
  6. Possibly an everyday scene with the quines and loons
  7. Was that our fans or just the locals doing their Saturday shop.

So Boden got a long awaited start today and I'm afraid he was absolutely rubbish. Too slow, no skill, no drive, no desire. Just hopeless. Essentially a smaller, English version of Dani Lopez. Get rid.

It was the goalie who conceded the goal. Main concern for me was the goal scoring ratio against a 2nd division club. It was you who stated that Draper and Meekings weren't playing, had concerns and even called a draw a positive result. Tansey had a great game, including Cole, Doran, Tremarco and Polworth who had the freedom down the wings. Players were getting man marked when we didn't have the ball, our players were hard in the tackle and won the man on man battles, our players were hungry for the ball on the counter attack and the defence reduced their stats to only 1 shot on target. So yes I stand by my words that I thought the midfield and defence were immense today.
  10. I know we were short of players, but really?!!
  11. I'll give it a go, but go easy on me! The game kicked off in beautiful sunshine, with ICT facing into a low, irritating sun. Caley Thistle started brightly, with a spell of reasonable pressure culminating in a decent strike from Tansey from the edge of the area which was well parried by the keeper. Elgin responded with some pressure of their own, which was ultimately rewarded with a goal. Vigurs picked up the ball in the deep, but dithered and got dispossessed. In trying to win it back, he made a clumsy challenge, resulting in a free kick on the edge of the box, right of centre. Nicholson hit the free kick low at the right end of the wall. From where I was standing, it went under the last man in the wall and OFW failed to keep it out, despite getting his hand to it. Caley Thistle responded almost immediately, with Doumbouya meeting a great cross to power into the net, but the goal was disallowed, presumably for a push. Undeterred, ICT continued to press and Cole burst into the box down the left, cut in and placed a beauty in the right corner to equalise. Further chances came ICT's way late in the half, with Doumbouya, Cole and Warren all going close. HT 1-1. The second half was altogether more comfortable for Caley Thistle, with long spells of possession, with Elgin restricted to hitting on the break. Cole was bossing things with pace and tricks aplenty - Elgin had no answer to him. Doumbouya spurned several good headed chances, one well saved, one off the bar and one glaring miss. Vigurs nearly atoned for his mistake, with a great free kick off the bar. Finally, Doumbouya connected with a great cross from Doran (I think) and squeezed it into the net, possibly courtesy of a deflection. While ICT continued to dominate possession after the goal, Elgin looked increasingly dangerous on the break. Anier came on for his debut, with the inneffectual Boden making way. Anier controlled a tricky ball well and hit a good effort straight at the keeper from the edge of the area. In the dying minutes, Elgin created several decent chances, but Warren in particular excelled in blocking close-range shots during the last minute stramash! FT: 1-2!

That's a worrying indication of Richie's eye for talent.
  13. Who else feckin hates Sir smarterse English glory hunting wrinkled owd **** ?
  14. We beat the Staigo 8-4 in the domino match in the Ionic Bar. Their captain threw the board on the floor when he was beaten. Shocking scenes.
  15. Celtic v ICT And it's the Scottish cup. The Hoops must be Sh*""ing themselves. A good money spinner for the club and tv revenue
  16. Time to bow out the cup run and concentrate on staying up, go to Parkhead, get Rodgered, get 50% of the attendance and guaranteed TV revenue then come home and forget about expensive distracting and injury inducing cup ties and focus on avoiding relegation
  17. To think this is the man who made Every Picture Tells A Story. Cringe.
  18. looks like it rod had a lot of alcohol inside him when he was doing the draw
  19. Stuart Armstrong scored Celtic's third goal today (22 Jan) in their cup win at Albion
  20. Currently 31 out of 32 votes have gone to the excellent Cole for MotM. In the other vote, Vigurs must have a login for CTO and voted for himself

It's unfortunate that he was given a 3 year contract. Foran was obviously confident that he was our next Billy Mckay.

Wouldnt say that was our biggest game of the season our league is more important so we can make a shift up a league at last. As for you lot yous done your homework and over powered us by strength which is 1 thing we definetly need but if you play like that in the premier league i think it may be a bit tough for you the rest of the season but all the best you lot maybe one day they'll be a time when these games are a regular
  23. Doumbaya's disallowed goal looked very unfair from where I stood directly behind the goal. It was power and precision with no obvious infringement by any ICT player - one assumes the referee saw something we could not see. Wonder what he told Richie.

Yeh well said about Boden, I truly believe that's his biggest problem he's got a terrible attitude and it's been so obvious to see, so many times even in pre game warm up he looked disinterested and huffy and it came across very strongly in an interview early on in the season, where he seemed very defensive and snappy at the questions he was being asked, that never tells the whole story but combined with the way he plays and reacts on the field suggests his general attitude does not fit with the club. I for one would love to see him come out and make an effort like his life depended on it, to create some sort of reprieve but I genuinely don't think his heart is in it and I truly hope foran can offload him before the end of his contract
  25. No flares today. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen any flares at a ICT game... I'm gonna defend Fonners here. I don't like him at crosses or long balls, and has been suspect at free kicks, however...Elgin clearly won the coin this and put us into the low sun, and you can see from th video clip provided that Fonners is lookin right into that bright low sun for the entire half. Also, ball takes a bobble just before it gets to him. Just one of those things today, I don't think we should be so critical of him for that one, past mistakes notwithstanding.

The only time they even looked remotely like scoring was from set pieces. And any team from any league is levelled out at set pieces. OFW needs to be more commanding and less routed to his line IMO. Our mid-fielders were tracking players off the ball...and what's wrong with strong challenges from a team renowned for their size and physicality-you need to use all at your disposal to win games.
  27. Winning the match today was more important than the performance because we just needed to win a game and then use this morale and confidence boost for next week. We played some good stuff today with Cole being involved in many of the good moves. we had a good turnout from Inverness and I estimate to be well over 1k. So good to be in the next round of the cup and to finally win a match.
  28. Very strange that so many players seemed to get injured during the 3 week winter shutdown. Not for the first time, do we need to ask questions about our training regime?
  29. Oh dear. Would any of the teams in our league swap their keeper for ours? Based on the last few months I don't think any of them would. Incredible to think that OFW seems to have become the worst keeper in the league when last season he was easily top 6 standard. I just don't get it.
  30. Depends on your definition of "missed". I reckon he had 6 chances: 1 scored, 1 disallowed (wrongly IMO), 1 saved well, 1 off the bar, 1 shot blocked, 1 sitter wide. How many chances did his strike partner have and how many did he score? Yes, Doumbouya could have had a hat trick, but he certainly gets himself in the right areas and he won us the game.
  31. I put Llarnell Cole 6 pts outstanding motm by a country mile showed real class great piece of business keeping him till end of season 3 pts Carlos Tremarco great energy and drive. Player of the season so far 1 pt Doumbaya scored the goal that kept us in the cup.

I'd agree. If 3 attacking mids aren't creating for the one striker better to utilise 2 strikers supported by wingers
  35. Even without the sun...it took a bobble and then bounced over him. Not sure any keeper could have reacted to save it.
  36. Wahey good luck we that draw

Losing a soft goal to a team 3 leagues below us doubt you could say we coasted through this with Warren being described as throwing himself into blocking tackles. "no worries " is not my description but happy with result
  38. Scarlet... crowd figures in BBC match reports aren't perhaps in the most prominent place. You need to go down to the bottom of the main report and shift the black panel from "Match Stats" to "Line Ups" on the left by clicking on the latter. You will then find the attendance at the very bottom, below the referee's name.
