  1. Why, what on earth were the two of you doing? Oh wait, I see what you mean!

  2. At the time I thought the Scottish Cup win would probably be the pinnacle, in my lifetime, of being an ICT fan. I expected that we'd decline slightly from there, but what I didn't expect is the complete collapse and capitulation of the side within the space of just two years since. It's incredible!

  3. Should have come to upper teer then? Caleyaway doing their best to support/lift the team

  4. Who are these "goal scoring" players and what is this new found defensive strength? I've not seen much of it at all this season. I don't agree with refusing to go to the games because of the manager in general, but that's your call and you are of course free to do that, however I completely agree with the highlighted text. As we have said time and time again we have looked at our best playing a 4-2-3-1 with Polworth spearheading a midfield trio of Tansey and Draper. It's absolutely bananas for Foran to have continued to persevere with a toothless, narrow and negative 3-5-2 (or 5-3-2 however you might see it). We've barely looked any better at the back and we have completely stifled ourselves up front and are even blunter than before. Then we have the bizarre interviews praising the players one week then slagging them rotten the next. Hughes was criticised by many because of his pig headed stubbornness when he was here. Incredible that Foran doesn't get the same treatment.

  5. You may well be right Yngwie, but they need to weigh that emotion against the many jobs at the club that will go with relegation- you can bet that those people are just as loyal and committed as Richie.

  6. That's what I think whereas a red card suspension is immediate. I don't know what's more surprising - Sportsound getting something wrong or Sky Sports getting something right!

  7. For whatever reason, Fisher doesn't seem to have been given a fair crack of the whip this season. From what I've seen, he looks like the type of striker who would thrive and score a fair few in the championship. If, as now appears likely, that's where we find ourselves, we should make every reasonable effort to have him stay for at least another season.

  8. Looks and sounds increasingly like Alex Fisher is a player who should have had a great deal more time on the park than he had this season. Always puts the effort in and appreciates the people who pay his wages. One to be kept if we possibly can, but that ship might have already sailed.

  9. I really feel for Foran. It really is the image of the inexperienced swimmer being chucked in at the deep end. But now he is up on the top Feckin diving board. I hope that he puts his hands off and gets back down the stairs and takes a break. If he stays and jumps it is probabl going to end up looking like a John Smiths commercial. But what is really cracking me up at the moment is the fond remembrances of erase holes like Brewster, Hughes and the evil Butcher who may have brought success but did more financial and emotional damage than a Wall Street hacker. At least Foran will be more fondly and correctly remembered as a man who really played for the shirt and probably managed for the shirt but had a big heart and a very naive footballing head.

  10. If the board are going to back Foran and he will be manager next season then they should say so unequivocally so that he can get on with planning for next season. If they are not then they should terminate his contract and put him on gardening leave as from tomorrow. The idle weekend next weekend would then mean that the new manager would have the best part of a fortnight to work with the players and, if he is a permanent rather than an interim appointment he too can begin to prepare and plan for next season. Either of these courses would be legitimate what is no longer tenable is the current dithering and prevarication. The current uncertainty helps nobody and reflects badly on the board. They are there to take decisions, for god sake take this important one and take it now.

  11. This is a post I made after a game against Motherwell in 2012. I reckon it's as relevant today as it was then.

  12. Talking on BBC Sport after the game, a fuming Foran said "Today, an official has killed us," I've got more news for you Richie. The club has been killed by the manager, with a board, in the dressing room. They haven't a cluedo. Game over I'm afraid.

  14. Foran is a hopless manager of that there is no doubt the guy couldn't manage a raffle however he must be laughing at the most incompetent board in football. What kind of person 1,Gives a 33 year old a 3 year playing contract ? He wasnt loyal we were the only club stupid enough to offer that sort of deal 2, Gives a complete rookie coach a 4 year deal in his 1st management position? It is complete madness on both fronts sometimes i think Foran is writing his own contracts he has the club over a barrel & for his utter failure the idiots on the board will have to fork out big money again on another cluster f**k. No doubt Richie will eventually step down or be sacked & will fit right in with the "jobs for the boys" culture in the clubs youth set up & Fairways can look forward to some cracking golf days. Yes Richie is a bad manager but the clowns on the board who seem more than happy to strut around with a club blazer & have there nice seats on match day need to start getting a hold of the car crash of a club ICT are turning into.

  15. He was the only one to come over but was not the only one to acknowledge the fans. Tansey Draper and Kev McN defo did. Maybe a couple of others too.

  16. Good on you Alex Fisher the only one who took any time to acknowledge the travelling support. The rest just sloped off up the tunnel probably planning how to manage their exit from the club in the summer.

  17. Well I am Brosnon. The good away days in the top flight are to the old favourites such as Well and Killie. I will miss those two as well as the Jam Tarts but there are minuses elsewhere, especially the Old Filth. My gave away game this season was at Elgin and in recent years, apart from Hampden and Bucharest, it was Stranraer. It has also down to the crew that you travel with and the ambiance of the local hostelries, the absence of the Ultras and the old style ground environments and facilities (Ayr). ALL my best away days have been in the lower leagues and we have made links with groups of supporters from those types of teams. I can't wait to walk into the bars like Dumfries,Dunfermline and Morton and The stadium at the Rock I have never been to. I also love Livi as I can take the Mississippi shopping. Just gutted that it may not include Psisley and Ayr. Don't get me wrong I want us to stay up. I will be glued to the telly for the next two games and I am going to Killie and Dens. I will be gutted if we go down but no tears.

  20. Time to go. We have 5 games to go and our manager still doesn't know his best 11 or even what formation we should be playing. Team selections have been a joke, there has been no consistency in the selections. One player plays one week them is dropped the next for no reason. We will never put a run of results together when the team chops and changes every week. Why are we not playing 442 or 4411 with players playing in their natural positions. It's like we are trying to complicate things, we need to get back to basics and play wingers as wingers and midfielders as midfielders. We certainly don't have the poorest squad in the league so it must be purely down to the manager for our positon. I would love for Foran to turn this round and for us to survive this season and then kick on but I can't see it happening. It looks like we are going down, the worst part is, it looks like we are going down without a fight!

  21. Graeme Bennett may not have been everyone's cup of tea but he did seem to have an eye both for players and managers. Hard to identify anyone at board level with that ability and footballing knowledge now.

  22. Even a single year out of the top division will cost us over twice as much as we made from the cup win so logically you would swap that for Premiership survival. However, football has very little to do with logic and personally I wouldn't swap that wonderful euphoric afternoon in Glasgow for anything.

  24. I will happily support my team through thick and thin if the players are giving their all and the club management is reasonably competent. Ups and downs are a feature of sport and there is no entitlement for us to be in the top division. But, enough is enough. Foran is miles out of his depth and has taken a reasonable bunch of players to a destination that should never have been on the cards. There is no way that our squad is the weakest in the premiership, but we are the worst team and we play shocking football. Entertainment is the name of the game and what's on show is far rom entertaining and won't change unless the management changes. When that happens, I'll be back.

  25. Largely because he is such a great guy and because of his love for and loyalty to the club and the city, I have been very reluctant to agree with that view even very recently. However, with immense sadness and a very heavy heart, I have to say that you are right. Thanks for all the wonderful memories as a player Richie, not least that wonderful last second equaliser in the cup in Dingwall a few seasons ago. Thanks for your loyalty in not following Butcher to Hibs when you had the opportunity and thanks even for trying your very best to manage our club in very difficult circumstances. I have no doubt that you gave it 100% and were fully committed but, whilst a very fine player, you are clearly not a manager, coach tactician or even possess the ability to motivate others as you were so obviously were motivated yourself. Go now and leave with your pride and dignity intact and give the club you care for as much as we do one final chance to retrieve the season. What ever happens to us in the last five games you will always be fondly remembered for your effort and commitment. Don't now tarnish those memories further.

  26. Surely to god Foran will be sacked in the morning, if not tonight. Been saying since we got pumped in the previous "biggest game of the season" 6 pointer. He is a great guy but a terrible, terrible manager, a complete and utter dud, he cannot organise or motivate this team and we are unlikely to win any of our remaining matches if he stays in charge. I don't blame Foran for his lack of aptitude, he tries very hard, I blame the people who thought the best option was to persevere with this failure and sleepwalk into relegation and at this moment I am absolutely effing fuming about it.

  27. Agreed, the board have not covered themselves in glory this season but one thing they could surely do is pay for free buses and possibly free tickets so that we have as much backing as possible. A thousand or more ICT fans at Dens could make a difference.

  28. The problem with the youth set up is that its all jobs for the boys Danny Macdonald, Charlie Christie & Duncan Sherear What do these 3 so called coaches bring to the club?by all accounts they couldnt run a bath let alone a training session they have bin in that job for years and the return they give the club is nothing short of scandalous in terms of young players coming through the line of "no players in the Highlands" is a complete cop out, look at County there set up is second to none with qaulity coaches who have a huge understanding of youth football not to mention facilities that put ICT to shame & as said there youth team is flying with lads from all over the north & a few southern lads. To make matters worse ICT dont even have the best youth coaching team in Inverness let alone the Highlands,Clach who have always been a great example of how to nurture & bring through lads the amount of kids who rather go to grant Street for coaching is frightening yes a completely different level but the principles remain the same. No doubt friends of the trio I've named or maybe there ex teacher may disagree with me but until we rid the club of the jobs for the boys attitude & bring in coaches who actually no what there doing then ICT will always be miles behind not only Ross County but every other youth setup in Scotland .

  29. Much as expected. If we are going to have any chance of survival it is essential that we win our remaining two home games. To do that we need every edge and advantage we can including a large and supportive home crowd. In order to encourage that backing, I believe that the club should charge £5 for adults and £2 for concessions for both matches and advertise that fact as widely as possible in the local media. I appreciate that that will lose income in the region of forty thousand pounds or so but that is very small beer compared to the reduction in income in excess of a million pounds for every season we might have to spend in the lower leagues. Every effort must be made to encourage as many people away from the Retail Park and down to East Longman.

Administration pending, unless... How can we go from SupercaleygoballisticCelticareatrocious in the year 2000, to Scottish Cup Winners in 2015, playing in Europe and just 9 years after lifting the Cup; Administration. Mismanagement and our demise was hastened by the appointment of Scot Gardiner. Ever since then, ludicrous decision making has seen our stock plummet whilst 'shady' dealings were investigated. The failed Concert Company, the Battery Storage, the Statkraft contract have all ended badly leaving the club facing insolvency.

That's another fine mess you've got us into.

      Chairman Ross Morrison resigns

Nothing official from the club as we speak, but the Inverness Courier are running with a story that Ross Morrison has resigned at 18:00 tonight 3rd June.  More to come as this story develops, but most fans are looking for more heads to roll.

Speaking exclusively to The Inverness Courier, Mr Morrison said he is leaving now because of the aftermath of the Fife move. “I believe it [the move to Fife] is the best way forward and I have to stick with my beliefs,” Mr Morrison said. “This is the reason I'm stepping down now.”

Reflecting on his time with the Caley Thistle, Mr Morrison said: “My six-year tenure with the club has had some great and some not so great times but through everything I was immensely proud to be the chairman of the club and clubs I’ve supported for 50 years - I was a Jaggie by the way.

“I would ask the fans to rally round the club at this time and show their support by not only purchasing their season tickets but also getting involved directly with the club to see how they can help.

“Hearing fans saying they would prefer administration to training the first team in Kelty sent a shiver down my spine. Administration is a desperate thing to happen to a club and must, at all cost, not happen to ICTFC.”
