That's a pretty bizarre argument to say the least. This is an ICT website and as such there is going to be speculation about our club and players of pretty much anything really. What players earn, where they might be heading off to in the future, what they eat after a game and so on.

There was not a failure on the pitch for us today and, until Vigurs had to be substituted, the old guard of Vigurs, Polworth and Doran were running the show and oozing class. Perhaps some of those who have been on Polly's case all season will now cut him a bit of slack. A special word for the manager. When he came in, I was not alone in having my doubts. He had been out of management for a very long time and out of full time management for even longer and his record since he left us almost a decade ago was hardly inspirational. However, after a sticky start, he has now introduced a system which is both entertaining and increasingly effective. As far as recruitment is concerned, while there have been a couple of failures, his recruits are much more effective than those of either Hughes or Foran and on a fraction of the budget. Well done to the players and the manager. We are not quite there yet and it may take until next season to genuinely challenge for promotion but we are on the right track and have, by and large, the right squad and the right Steersman at the helm.

Someone not highlighted from yesterday yet who I think deserves a mention is Connor Bell who yet again put in a tremendous shift across the front line yesterday. Doran and Bell seem to be permitted to switch sides seemingly at random and float all across the forward line supporting Oakley and when you see our third goal it all stems from some incredibly tenacious hold up play from Bell who works hard to get the ball, retain possession before he plays in Polworth to set up Doran. People slag off Baird so much because of his finishing, justified to an extent, but the work rate from Baird and Bell has been so important to the team as we defend from the front. With Doran still working his way up to full fitness again and Baird out of the side at present it's great to see Bell not shirk the additional work he may have to do. Really hope a contract extension is in the minds of the ICT higher ups for the kid. One minor concern from yesterday was that Gary Warren on three separate occasions was caught on the ball when trying to dribble out of defence and on each occasion Queens had an excellent chance to score a goal with Dobbie missing two sitters. Maybe have a word with him and leave the ball playing defender role to Donaldson!

QOS fans are usually pretty decent. I also thought their chants were more ironic than moronic. After Bell scored .... "4-3 .. we're gonna win 4-3" ... classic stuff .. think we have even done that on occasions !

A decent run in the competition and a creditable result against a youth system far better resourced than our own. Well done to the players and coaches.

Average Joe did well today and has been much improved recently, but MOTM over Vigurs, Calder and Donaldson? Steady on.

I thought the entire team were superb today however special mention to Calder who was absolutely magnificent in everything he did

Vigurs deserves the MoM award! A great performance from him. What an asset he has become and it’s great to see him celebrating towards the fans for his goal. A lot of criticism was given to him in the past (not least by me!) but today his defensive run from penalty box to penalty box exemplified his change in character on the park. I thought he showed restraint by not reacting to being floored, only to be booked! No wonder Robbo went mental at the ref.

We went back to basics after the Dumbarton travesty and have slowly introduced more attacking intent. I really enjoyed watching us today, particularly in the first hour when Doran, Polwarth & Vigurs were a cut above anything Queens had in midfield. While I remain an Oakleyskeptic, I thought he did a good job of hassling their centre-halfs and the creative players had more space as a result. We retreated & tired in the last half hour, but Calder & Donaldson deserve a mention for going full pelt right to the end. Excellent performances from both.

I thought Hibs looked bigger, stronger and quicker than our lads, especially in the first half and could have added another couple before the break. They absolutely smashed one off the crossbar with a wind assisted 30 yard effort and scored a header from a corner, Josh Campbell pretty much unmarked in the box. We almost levelled straight from the kick off, an effort fired over from left side of the box. Second half was more even especially towards the end of the game where we almost scored but for their 11 foot six inch keeper fingertipping an attempt away. Their winning goal was a break on the right and centre forward Ryan Porteous knocking in from close range. Andy Macrae scored from a stonewall penalty after Daniel Mackay was upended in the box, but were unable to hold on to that score for too long. Guys can not be faulted for effort and had the wind kept it's force constant throughout the game we might have squared it but I suppose the marginally better side edged it. Terrible day for a game of football, swirling wind giving more advantage to Hibs in the first half and abating slightly after the break which offered us little assistance. I talked to number of folk yesterday on this subject and a fair few just refuse to see his contribution. Completely unfathomable that people can't see Polly's positive contribution. They seriously need to open their eyes. P.S. I'm not Polly

Agreed. And it is exactly the sort of thing which actually causes controversy. Vigurs may have fouled Rooney, he may have given Rooney some verbals after the foul was given and he may have given Rooney some verbals after he got back off the ground. What he did not do was to raise both hands to an opponent and push him to the ground. I don't know whether Vigurs did anything which warranted a yellow card, but I do know Rooney should have been sent off.

That's exactly what the Vigurs incident was, book both players to avoid controversy instead of having the balls to do the correct thing. Poor poor refereeing.

Yup. The best comeback since winning after being 3-0 down to Ayr in the Cup.

Robbo Rice and Kel are building the team, the rest don't have an effin clue. hopefully some of the youths will get a deserved chance once we get totally clear of any relegation worries. if we keep producing a wee gem or two every year we will have no fears. Charlie and Danny have a huge role to play in how we progresss from here.

Still basking in the glory of 7 goals and 6 points this week! Forgot to mention the save from Polworth's shot that the keeper had, great shot and great save. It could easily have been a much higher scoring game. Great entertainment, great attitude from the players, great afternoon! But we should do a video compilation of referee howlers....

A superb result today which puts us in the mix for the play-off places. After the misery of last season it is great to be leaving the stadium with a smile on your face.

Thought the team might struggle to match Tuesday night's performance without Mulraney and Tremarco, but if anything they exceeded it against a tougher opponent. Our veterans are on form and our youngsters are getting better every week. Second place is well within reach.

Another excellent performance all round. We are playing some great football and if we can manage to maintain the tempo for a full 90 minutes we are going to demolish a team or 2. It's suddenly getting interesting !!!!!

TBF it's no more than a goal a game....and three of those games, we were down to 10men, the settled backline that had that great record, hasn't been settled in those 6 games, so I think it's still a solid run, defensively...seems that Calder has settled in and looked good past couple of games, and if Seedorf could stay fit he has real potential. Great to see Doran score today. he looked pretty good against Falkirk as well...it's almost like a new quality signing Has to be said after a shambolic season last year and a difficult summer and start to the season, the team has come on leaps and bounds, and in Donaldson, Bell, Chalmers, Oakley, Seedorf, Ridgers and Calder we are seeing additions that are looking worthwhile having been given a bit of time (I think Trafford is in the same category, but hasn't played much recently, Baird I think has done OK, Austin obviously to soon to tell). Both Mulraney and Brad Mckay seem to have kicked on this year, and for all the criticism of him Polworth looks an increasingly important player for us. Vigurs and Tremarco have been stella for us, but I'm looking at the newbies and the youngsters Not only am I up for the Falkirk home game in March...but I have managed to sort another trip up for our last home game against Dumfermline, my gut feeling is we'll have secured a play-off position by the end of that game, the play-offs are of course a marathon if you finish in 3rd/4th, and I don't think it's been done very often, but I can see us going the whole way (which I didn't expect to be saying a few months ago) if we are lucky with injuries, and suspensions.

Have to admit the queens fans were excellent today. No animosity good friendly banter. They must have the same rural non central banter we have in the north.

The much bigger question is whether any team in the MLS would want him. I would very much doubt it. Surely it's better for him in the long run playing football rather than drawing a salary for nothing and daydreaming about a move that's never likely to happen.

It strikes me that the best piece of business we could do in the January window is to offload OFW. Leaving aside the question of fault, at present he is contributing absolutely nothing but consuming the salary of at least two good Championship players. Freeing up that cash and bringing in one or two decent players could be the difference between pushing for promotion or not especially with the suspensions that are looming due to our poor disciplinary record.

I agree with you. He makes mistakes and they can be some realy frustrating errors but the amount of hate he gets from the stands is absolutely ridiculous.

While agreeing he has improved as the season has gone on, I thought he was the poorest player, along with Brad Mackay for us yesterday. he needs to learn to tackle, move the ball quicker and work on his defensive skills. All things that can be improved by coaching and hard work.

Speculating on players wages is crass and low-class. Players wages are no ones business but their own and regurgitating "what you've heard," is just stupid. Unless of course you lead by example and post your salary?
