  1. Great result, well done guys. Annoying but typical that Sportscene only showed about 40 secs of highlights. They still managed to string out coverage and post match analysis of Celtic v Brechin to close on 30 minutes though.
  2. We have gone from being thoroughly outplayed, thrashed and humiliated by Dunfermline at East End Park to matching a Premiership club and earning a well merited replay. That is huge progress in just a few months. There is much work still to be done but, after two years of steady decline, we are now on our way back. It may take another season but we are definitely heading in the right direction.
  3. Folk just seem to think that OFW should happily tear up his quite lucrative contract with us and go off to any old team for buttons. Get real. as much as he will probably want to play football he also needs to make sure he gets an appropriate contract for doing so. Clearly none of the offers on the table so far have come close to what he earns at ICT so why should be move? As above, if you were being told by your employer that they didn't want you any more and they said you should leave but weren't willing to pay you off would you move to any old job for 25% of your current salary just to be able to do some work?
  4. Right at the moment, the three highest wage bills at the club are being paid to three individuals for contributing nothing. No wonder finances are as tight as they are.
  5. The opening goal came courtesy of a delightful fresh-air sclaff by Meekings. Poor man’s Coll Donaldson.
  6. For another 4 months!
  7. Quite rightly so IMHO
  8. I'd make a much better ref than most I've seen this season!! Lol.....
  9. I think the refs have his card marked before a ball is ever kicked based on past reputation/indiscretions .... In the two games I saw when I was back in Inverness he showed decent maturity and got booked for nothing other than being pushed over in the QOS game ... he didnt even retaliate at that one and still got booked. I think he gets a rough ride from the refs. Whilst he can be and has been hot headed, I saw him play with maturity and restraint while I was over. His sending off against Livi was BS and his booking against QOS was ridiculous.
  10. Oooft, are they really a premiership side.
  11. Home to Motherwell.
  12. I suspect you might find it was OFW who, as soon as we got relegated, exercised a relegation clause enabling him to leave for free.
  13. Maybe things will look better once we get Hughes and Foran off the wage bill.
  14. I see Brad Mckay as a CB with Coll Donaldson, rather than an RB - although he can play there, think he's a better CB. Just wish John Baird's skill level was up there with the effort he puts in - he'd be excellent!
  15. Exactly...I had almost forgotten that OFW was still here! As others have said, nothing personally against him, but surely a move would benefit both the club & himself? He's been out of the shop window too long now & needs to just play, at whatever level he can find. He would leave with my best wishes for the future....
  16. We'll just have to win it & get into the next round then...
  17. Brora v East Fife got more than us
  18. Pity Ian is a bit too hot headed, it seems, and too back-talkative to the ref by far. Otherwise the conspiracy theory could be cited again......
  19. Interesting start to the day with our selection, Trafford and Doran in for Polworth and Mulraney. Not sure why Polworth was dropped, maybe we expected to need to defend more in the centre of the park. Notwithstanding the changes, we started pretty well, moving the ball around and getting into good positions to get the ball into the box while not creating a great deal. Around the 15th minute we opened the scoring when a long throw on the right by Brad Mckay found its way to Doran, who fired home. From what I could see it was a bit of a defensive mix up from Dundee but a good finish from Doran, who had a great game. Following this, Dundee really took control though and dominated most of the rest of the half. They dominated midfield, with Trafford giving the ball away on a lot and Vigurs unable to really assert any control. Dundee carved out three fantastic chances in this period - one was blocked by a great tackle from Mckay, the other saved by Ridgers and the third headed into the bar by Trafford on the line. When half time came we were really just happy to get in with our lead intact but we should’ve doubled it right in the half when Doran slipped Oakley right through in goal. He should’ve done better but I thought he took it too wide and his effort was saved. It was good to get in at half time still ahead but that evaporated about a minute into the half -Dundee moved the ball well to the edge of th box and then the deflected shot beat Ridgers. A bit gutting but we came back well and a minute or so later Trafford crossed for Bell to force a fantastic save from theIr keeper, I’m stunned that he made it across to get a very well placed header. Dundee took the lead a few minutes later when Vigurs had a pass intercepted by O’Hara who ran it in and hit a low shot into the net. Vigurs has been dominating games in the Championship but the margin for error is less against better sides and he was punished for it. We rallied after this and pushed forward again. Trafford was subbed after a bad head knock in an accidental collision and Polworth came on to and had a couple of decent efforts. We managed to equalise when Calder made some decent running on the left, his cross was knocked into the air and Oakley reacted first to stab it home. We managed to create one final chance when Doran was almost out free in literally the last second of the game but he couldn’t get a meaningful shot away. For Dundee, I thought their midfield was excellent, O’Hara and Allen were influential and hurt us. The right back Kerr was also good. I thought Doran was our best player, he was threatening and popped up all over. We didn’t manage to establish dominance in midfield, Trafford didn’t do all that well and Vigurs, despite some good passes,, was a lot less in control than he is in the league and he got caught for the second Dundee goal. Donaldson was excellent again and Oakley took his goal well.
  20. Another enterraiing game. What we lacked in guile and striking ability we more than made up for with industry and effort. We had a lot of possession but tended to slow things down in the final third allowing a defence to set. This is a little frustrating as we are getting men forward and we should have the confidence to be more direct at times. A deserved result with special mention to Bell ( who was a real live wire and will have sore legs tonight) and Donaldson ( who strolled round the park like he owned it ......this boy has a future). An absolute belter of a block by McKay ( I think ) prevented a near certain goal..........watch that on Sportscene......he came from the clouds. Once again great to see George get his goal......he had been shackled , not always legally, throughout the match. Finally the last goal had me reminiscing of Nicky Ross' equaliser at Easter Road against Hearts.....a similar goal.......a similar feeling Well done everyone ( including the support who were great)
  21. I did worry when Dundee went 2 1 up we would just sit in and defend but no the lads kept plugging away and got the equaliser. Good to get the replay get a bit more cash into the club. The lads certainly seem to have gelled now. Robbo on BBC Scotland said Polly has been bed ridden all week with a bug but travelled to fill a spot on the bench as we were short. For me that shows team spirit and determination For the team to succed.
  22. Another excellent result. The pleasing thing is that Robbo can change things around a bit, and still field a strong team. So he has options from the squad he has built. We have to have a good chance in the replay. Looking forward to Austin getting some game time. The neighbours took another hit today, lol.
  23. Well said. It can't be good for his playing prospects (for a club and for his beloved Wales) that he is completely starved of game time and invisible to the public eye. If you're a professional footballer with a limited shelf life, why on earth would you do that? If I was him, I'd be pulling out all the stops to get away pronto and make a fresh start.
  24. I presume he's referring to the friendly in Dingwall.
  25. If I had a job I was not required to do anything for not far under 2k a week (reportedly) I would hold onto it for as long as possible. It is unlikely he would get close to that off elsewhere now so will be beneficial for him to hold on. He owes the club no loyalty after the way he was treated over the summer and into this season.
