  1. The Through ball for the 2nd County goal was offside by at least a yard albeit the end result was an own goal I had a blazing row with a County fan on my way to the car after the game I shouted you should be ashamed to support such a team all went quiet I was really round up! , Although I am an old man I was ready for a punch up. I was a bit of a boxer years ago.

Very amateurish. On the field we have dropped down a division. Off the field, it sometimes seems that we are back in the Highland League. Christmas is on the horizon and we have no facility for selling merchandise to fans not able to visit the stadium. What a poor show.
  3. I thought that was an absolutely enthralling game. There was plenty of quality on show for most of the game and at times when the quality dropped away it was still end to end action, a good serving of chances for each side to get a winner, controversial moments and players getting it up the opposition fans. From an ICT PoV it's massively disappointing we couldn't find a winner. I think we probably were the better team over the game but if you can't get the ball into the net then you can't complain too much if you don't bag the three points. County took the lead when Lindsay found himself with time and space about 25 yards out to collect a pass, compose himself then dispatch a low drive into the net beyond Ridgers despairing grasp. ICT were back in it moments later when Doran scampered down the left and crossed to Walsh at the back post and he headed the ball to Oakley who turned it in from a few yards out. ICT then had a period of pressure where we forced a number of corners and after County cleared the last of them, Polworth (I think) was played in down the left flank and sent a low ball into the six yard box where it seemed to bobble about a bit before it was turned in by Rooney of all people. County were nearly back in it when a high ball to the back post found Mckay (Billy) towering above Mckay (Brad) to head towards goal but Ridgers, somehow, clawed the ball off the line. A truly outstanding save but Mckay wasn't too be denied and shortly after he had a hand in the equaliser. Vigurs split the ICT back line with a wonderful through ball into the channel and Mckay scampered after it and drilled the ball into the box where Mckay (Brad) slid in and diverted the ball into his own net. A poor goal to concede and I can't recall where Ridgers was as it looked like it would have been a pretty easy ball to gather for him. Into the second half and County started the better side and should have been a goal up when Vigurs found time and space at the back post to send a ball across the face of goal where everyone left it including Kelly who slid in at the other post and sent the ball wide with the goal gaping. ICT were not in at all but then had the best chance of the second half when one of the County defenders completely missed a through ball which allowed Doran to get in behind the away defence and he teed up Polworth who steadied himself and hit the post with Fox beaten. Easily the best chance that ICT would get to win the game or so we thought as Calder then sent in a delicious cross from the left flank which White just failed to connect with at the back post with Fox scrambling across his goal. Again Inverness almost got a third when the County left side was exposed and MacKay (I think) crossed for Doran but the ball, again, was just ahead of the ICT player and as Doran slide in he couldn't get enough on the ball to steer it into the net. County then had a good chance of their own to grab a winner when Vigurs lifted a free kick into the box and it was met by Graham who headed it towards goal but Ridgers sprung into action and palmed it away. A draw probably the fair result in a pretty breathtaking game. As I said at the start I think that's one of the best games I've seen in a long time. Was very happy with how ICT played. We got a lot of chance out of County down their right side, especially when we got in behind their right midfielder and right centre back. Calder had a great game defending well and sending in some great crosses. Chalmers had one of his best games for us and Polworth, despite missing that glorious chance in the second half, was everywhere and Vigurs was again left to hatchet tactics to stop him getting past him for the umpteenth time when he rugby tackled him to the ground. Donaldson was a class act at the back and Mckay (Brad) had a better second half at right back than he did first half in the centre. Great to see Rooney and Mckay (Billy) engage in some getting it right up the fans celebrations as well. Can't wait for the next Derby next month after that.
  4. A great game! Calder and Ridgers were outstanding. Great to see Oakley back. A mention for Chalmers, Welsh, Walsh and Polly, they a good game too. Young Daniel and White weren’t effective and Austin could have done better than either. McCart didn’t upset the Apple cart when replacing Rooney and Doran looked like his old self. The counter attack looked menacing, the fans were cheering the counter from our own box which was heartening for all concerned. The linesman is a joke however!
  5. A hugely entertaining game where we outplayed our opponents who were packed with Premiership players earning twice what our players are on or more. How on earth did Doran miss that chance towards the end ? Anyway, loads of positives to take from today. The only negative being that the crowd was two thousand fewer than attended the first derby of the season in Dingwall. If the good folk of Inverness want to retain full time football they really need to support the club with more enthusiasm. No lack of support and enthusiasm though from those who were there especially those in the North Stand outsigning the visitors at the opposite end. Onwards and upwards.
  6. We are generally quick enough to criticise our youngsters for such behaviour. The sort of conduct to be ashamed of at your age rather than boast about online.
  7. The through ball for the County second was perfectly timed as was the run by Mckay. He's clearly onside.
  8. p.s well done to the young lads in the North Stand for creating a great atmosphere
  9. Highlights show McKay is onside
  10. I would love to see more women in football but, sadly, she seems to lack even a basic knowledge of the game. There are some pretty poor reporters on Sportsound but she must be the worst.
  11. Very proud to be a caley supporter, gave everything possible today. Showed county that we are their most difficult opponents yet, we don't give up easily and that's what I love about my team, we are one of the most stubborn resolute, hard to break down teams in the league and least we deserved was the draw, but in all honesty our team showed enough quality and fight to win that comfortably and we should all be very proud of all the boys tonight
  12. Welsh had a tremendous second half, Chalmers best game since he arrived. Coll Donaldson makes my knees tremble. So glad to have Oakley back, he gave draper a torrid time.
  13. If we play like today against Partick it should be!
  14. Just been reading the BBC sport report on the game today and the picture supplied of Rooney celebrating in front of the away supporters evident by the old man giving him the v in the stand and all the folk wearing county tops etc. This is the caption from eilidh davies the reporter. "Shaun Rooney celebrates his goal in front of the home support". Does this girl not understand football? The last report she did in dingwall at the last derby said the game was being played in Inverness. Not only that but reading further down her report we have apparently fallen down the table to 6th rather than staying 5th. Is the BBC just not giving a toss about football north of perth and hiring 15 year olds to do the reports on a national news site?
  15. Cracking game thought we were by far the better team tho tbf Ridgers wow the mans a wall 2 top saves the day! What a shift by the lads Calder a stand out as was Walsh! Keep playing like this the wins will come some teams gonna take a proper doing from us soon!
  16. Great game of football really enjoyed it today great team performance stand outs were Calder, Ridgers , Rooney , Doran and Oakley great to have him back had he stayed on i think we would have won the game as i thought Daniel was quite poor when he came on Austin would of been a better choice. Think there has been too much hype over Daniel i don't think he is first team yet. Very poor officiating once again how the linesman never saw Billy offside when everyone in North stand did he cost us today on to next week in the words of Foran the win is coming ?

Couldn't disagree more with this. We all go through periods where we benefit from a little bit of a motivational pick-me-up....be that in work, or just day to day life. It happens for various reasons, but as often as not it's because people lack a little belief in themselves and doubt starts to creep in...the more you focus on it, the deeper you get into the hole. I've been doing an NLP and Life Coaching Diploma with a guy called Don MacNaughton. I first met Don when he used to come in and work with ICTFC players during Terry Butcher's time at the club...and there are few who could argue that Terry didn't get the best from his players when here...so the evidence that working on the mental aspect of things with players is beneficial and there for all to see. Many of the larger clubs (and an increasing number of not so large clubs) do regular sessions of this nature with players, and an increasing number are working with players at a young age. This means that more among future generations of players will have the tools to help themselves with the mental aspect of the game, but it won't be with everyone and unless a club are developing it themselves and/or signing players who've been at clubs who do...then many aren't going to have it as part of their arsenal. If a club isn't investing in a third party to undertake mental coaching, then it's even more important that the manager (or coaches) undertake the role of motivator. That's not a judgement on what Robbo and the staff are or aren't doing at present; and whilst I'd be concerned if they weren't doing something in this area, I don't actually know if they are or not. Personally...In the last 20 months I've gone from being a 31.5 stone heart attack waiting to happen, to a far happier 19 stone (and dropping) bloke who's got a chance of making it beyond his 45th birthday. I didn't need to be taught how to get off my ass, go for a walk/run/cycle or how to count calories (although I did do a 6 week gym based bootcamp)...but I did need a bit of help to develop the mental habits and exercises that are helping me become a better version of myself...on all fronts.
  18. I can’t help thinking of the “Do you wasn’t some? I’ll give it ya” guy.
  19. What do you mean by “such a team”? It was a derby game and you can expect no quarter to be given. I didn’t see anything particularly underhand in the way County played. I have seen several teams this season at the TCS which have bent the rules a lot more than County. I thought it was a thoroughly enjoyable game played with passion but in a generally good spirit. A great advert for Championship football and a good game for some good natured banter with opposition fans after the game.
  20. Can't score with an arm so doesn't matter if that's offside or not.
  21. From where I was sitting he was clearly offside, the linesman was way behind the play and by his sprint up the tunnel at half and full time made it suspiciously like he knew he should have flagged.
  22. Sorry that doesnt prove he was onside. He looks to already be a leg and arm past coll and has the ball being struck yet? Zooming in he looks offside.
  23. Expect a few apologies to the line person now..............
  24. That flick from Oakley for the first ICT goal: That save from Ridgers:
  25. Totally agree i think McCart deserves a start he is too good to be sitting on the bench him and Coll would make a better pair at the back my other half calls Brad the Bombscare
  26. Ridgers : His left hand could stop Brexit Calder : His crosses are superb. Shame Oakley was off the pitch for those last 30 mins Oakley : Welcome back George you absolute collosus. Someone above asked how Doran missed that chance. To be fair, he was a fraction late getting to it. It was not as clear cut a chance as Polworth's. We were all celebrating that one, long before he missed the target. Trafford : Half time warm up showboating - 8/10
  27. Yip but cif73 is right. Jordan White changed the game when he came on. He was less effective and made things easier for County. Saying that Doran and Polworth should have buried those chances. Hugely disappointed with the result.
  28. Before the game I would have gladly taken that result and throughout/afterwards I was delighted with the efforts of the lads. Many deserved a specific mention ... Donaldson, Ridgers, Calder, Polworth, Oakley ... but that should be balanced with the fact that successful teams can eek out wins while playing badly. We were the better team and didn't win from numerous openings in the 2nd half. In a highly competitive league points really do mean prizes. I make no apology for looking for ways / personnel that can help us step up further. Plenty others have their doubts/frustrations with Jordan. Maybe you're content with mid table Championship for ever more but I'd like to see the team I love progress ... and I'm entitled to an opinion.
  29. One of our most entertaining and positive performances of the season and some still take the opportunity to snipe at the latest scapegoat. Can you not be just a little more positive ?
  30. Yes that is true and the odd caravan.
  31. A huge catchment area largely populated by sheep and deer.
  32. 23 league games unbeaten now....a NEW club record
  33. I would have taken a draw before the game but gutted we didn't win that. We were the better side and showed a lot more desire but didn't quite get the breaks going our way. Great team effort. Keep that up and we should break our run of draws with a win next time up.
  34. I'd love it if Polly got a Hat trick today. So he can shut kettlewell up after his comments in the p and j. For anyone who didn't read it he said all Inverness fans should remember the contribution his players made to our club. Oh we do Relegation I believe it was.
  35. 1 point
Perhaps because he's scored twice as many goals for us than any other player and only 3 players in the Championship have scored more?
  36. This really should be in a more prominent place - I would even say the Main Board. At least equals the feat of Davie Balfour going from Lands End to John O'Groats. Steve had to do it Down Under and suffer the company of Mr Gablonski through it all !!
