  1. The whole team should be forced to watch how Arbroath faced up to Kilmarnock last night. They fought like tigers for 90 minutes and never have up. Compare that to our insipid display this afternoon - lacklustre, half hearted and devoid of any class. Morton deserved their points and we can't complain at the result.

  2. Whether it's tongue in cheek, a joke or you genuinely mean it, I think you need to remember it's a game. While I believe BD has some serious questions to answer and a lot of doubters to prove wrong, I'm not sure even if a joke it's a comment that's needed. If he's half the professional now as he was a player, I'm sure he's more than angry enough tonight to know things have to change not to mention his birthday being spoiled.

  3. When you can't even get the basics correct then it's already writing on the wall. I struggle to understand what we do all week in training when we put in a performance like that. Whats worse is that Morton had to do very little, it's not like they made us play that way. The telling thing is that we're all looking at other teams results because we know we're not good enough and we are reliant on them dropping points. We could learn a lot from Arbroath, part time or not, they are well drilled, well versed and play 100% with the belief that their manager has instilled in them and they know what they are doing.

  4. Shocking stuff. Real lack of belief, players barely even challenging at times. I really don't want to hear another "can't fault the effort" interview from Dodds. Hard to see where we go from here atm.

  5. Didn't understand the Pearson substitution at half time.....he at least showed some energy first half!

  6. I can't defend the team or management anymore. Today was an absolute shambles and the performance was totally disgraceful. There isn't one positive thing to take from that horror show. Dodds and Wilson seem as clueless as each other. Wilson stands in the technical area all game and offers nothing. It's like he just wants people to see he's there. We have no shape, no tactics and no idea what we're doing. Someone should of mentioned to Dodds that McKay and Hardy are 5"7. How the hell do they have any chance of winning long balls punted up to them against centre halfs well over 6 foot. I've no idea what formation we were supposed to be playing come the end of the game. There was a comment a few weeks ago that this is the worst ICT team there has been which I thought at the time was harsh, but after today I would struggle to think of a worse one.

  7. What's gone right? That question would be simpler to answer - very little. League position after some seriously flaky performances flattered us. We are ,or are going to end up where we deserve to be.

  8. I said before the game that we had to come firing out of the blocks, work our socks off and hunt the ball down in packs, if we wanted the three points, we did none of these, so we we got nothing from the game.

  9. That was very poor. If we come up against a side that works hard we just don’t know what to do. This is starting to feel like the final days of Foran’s spell as manager. And unless we improve dramatically, we will be no where near the play offs.

  10. I was one of the mugs in the stand today and I will probably be there on Wednesday as always hopeful, like I was before 3 today .I hoped our poor run would end but alas we were worse than last week.Welsh is no leader or captain,Sutherland is a passenger and none of them showed drive or determination or a hunger to win.Usually second to the ball and could be there until morning and would struggle to score. We haven't played a decent game since Gardyne stopped playing for us. We are crying out for wingers.Maybe we are just a championship team now as the club seem to be content with this standard of football.Players don't even look like they played together before.I can't understand what goes on through the week at training.

  11. Turgid, one dimensional, no urgency, no plan, no width, no belief, apathetic, I could go on describing that display. Just plain awful watching that today. Could have played another 90 minutes and we'd not have scored. GM were no great shakes but they deserved it.

  12. Just painful to watch. Morton won by a lucky goal, although they deserved to win. Unfortunately we used up all our luck at the beginning of the season. We just seem to be out-muscled and out-played in every game. I'm afraid my optimism for this season has all gone now.

  13. 13 cup finals left said Dodds, did not look like a cup final today.......timid, flat and not enough aggression as a team. Grim viewing!!!! 12 cup finals left to sort it out now

  14. Utter p1sh. The infuriating thing is that all Morton had to do to get a comfortable 3 points was be competent at the basics.

  15. 1. Get the whole squad in tomorrow and make them watch Scotland and what it means to be a team. Give them a cup of tea and then as someone suggested earlier make them watch the Arbroath v Killie game. 2. I cannot understand what Barry Wilson's role is in the management set up, I thought Kellacher was second in command. 3. Get our general manager, Robbo, to break his silence and share his thoughts on the season so far with the paying fans, it'll be too late at the end of the season.

  16. Yes after recent weeks, how refreshing it was to watch and support a team playing with passion, pride and no little skill!

  17. Until there is an entire clear out of Coaching Staff and that includes Robbo whatever his role is this Club is going nowhere this Season the title is there for the taking and we have blown it big style

  18. Well, I didn't think we could play any worse after the last home game, but I was wrong, that was a hard watch. If we hadn't had that good run of wins at the beginning of the season, I reckon we would be in a relegation fight now. We seem to have no game plan, just pump aimless balls through the middle, it's not as if we have a target man, and their centre half had a field day, heading all the balls away. Dodds is incapable of seeing what tactics need changing, strange subs and no motivation. We were crying out for a playmaker in the transfer window and he brings in strikers, does he not realise we need someone to create the chances! If things don't change quickly, I can see my pre season prediction of 5th coming true.

  19. I have never written bad posts on here, slagging players gets you no where. But in all my years following this club, today was painful. Someone mentioned Arbroath and the fight they show for partimers.we were once that club and we played better football too. Never mind showing the players videos of Arbroath show them the ones of our teams battling and as every pundit used to love to say "punching above our weight". Let's get the pride back.

  21. Passion and Pride is what we are sadly lacking I can put up with getting beat if the players are putting in an effort and trying which wasn't the case today

  22. It's been going wrong for years! Ever since the last relegation. The football we play is no longer entertaining......it's boring and predictable! I literally have to drag my kids to the game these days, they must think it's a form of punishment!!

  24. The gardyne incident is certainly a factor in our dip in form, he could unlock defences, and we do not have am abundance of ball players in the squad. Doran missing is another factor, bur for me, the overwhelming reason for our predicament is Dodds cannot change tactics when things are not working. Today for instance, we persisted with the long ball through the middle, and their number 5 just headed everything away, Dodds should have the tactical awareness to change it, but we were still doing it in the final minutes.

  25. It’s all been said there was nothing positive for us in that game!

  26. Every game these days brings fresh frustration and disappointment and this one was no different. This team, with this attitude does not deserve to be promoted.

  27. Not a lot to say about that game! We were very poor, but so were Morton. We didn’t deserve anything from the game as we didn’t create any good opportunities and never looked like scoring. Ridgers late save stopped it being even worse. Our formation didn’t work in the first half, but the second was no better, and some of the substitutions were strange, particularly taking Chalmers and Deas off. We seemed to lack confidence and belief throughout the game, and we created very little, resorting to hopeful balls and giving the front players little to work with. We have senior players in Ridgers, Welsh, Broadfoot, Sutherland and Mckay, who should give us leadership, but I’m not seeing it in games. I found myself relieved I wasn’t sitting in the stand and feeling sorry for those who were there. I was not surprised to hear boos at full time. 4 points out of 21 is a startling statistic. We are not title or promotion contenders as things stand. To end on a positive, Nicolson looks to have potential.

  28. The Arbroath team shows what you can achieve if you work your socks off, from the first whistle, and not what we do for the last ten minutes, when we usually throw the kitchen sink at teams, when we are chasing the game. Let's fire right out of the blocks tomorrow, close them down, hunt in packs, and try to get control of the game from the start.

  29. Agreed. I’d have taken off one of the front three, probably Sutherland.

  30. Two of our only four wins since the end of September have been our TV games. If we keep winning them and failing to win our other games, what does that tell us about the motivation of our players?

  33. It's got to be worrying how easily teams can nullify and stop us playing. Morton were a physical side and we couldnt cope . Cannot fathom why we used all our meagre budget on 4 forward minded players when we have only 3 fully fit defenders in the squad. Bizarre we still dont have a right back in the squad.

  35. Has to happen now ! we can’t let this go on any longer Dodds has had plenty opportunities to sort this out and appears clueless as what to do .

  36. Our attacking players were too easily tackled Our players were being muscled off the ball all over the pitch Too many passes went astray Hardly any chances created, a real lack of creativity Woeful shooting, some absolutely hopeless attempts on goal Didn’t win headers in and around the opposition box Lost most of the 50:50 challenges There’s a lot there that we can’t really blame the manager for.

  37. On the bright side, I’ve been doing detailed analysis of the videos and statistics of our games over the last 3 months and have at least figured out why we aren’t picking up enough points - we’re rubbish.

  41. Five games played in January and only 4 points The winner for January is Mark Ridgers who picked a lot of votes for saving us from getting zero points. The Player of the Year leaders are very close now. 1st Scott Allardice, 2nd Mark Ridgers, 3rd Billy Mckay, 4th Roddy MacGregor.
