Unfortunately the CEO and Board are instrumental in the fiscal stability, direction and what players the club can retain (spend on), bring in (buy), coach (cost of coaches, pitches & kit etc), and the clubs reputation on how they treat players. Rightly or wrongly this week for example! So it’s directly related to what the quality of happens on the park and therefore a legitimate point to raise given the recent performance of the board/CEO over the past two seasons. There is a shelf life for everything and it’s normally based on performance.4 points

What gibberish. John Hughes was part of our premiership era, arguably the peak, and as you say our finances were healthier then. We still have generous donors who are covering the eye watering loses from the last couple of seasons. We are still working on a premier league budget in the championship. It's not the amount of money we're spending, it's the fact we're spending it on huge numbers of coaching staff, sporting directors, sports scientists, video analysts etc. and seeing zero benefit. It's bizarrely amusing that we have had so many injuries since introducing a dedicated sports scientist, played some of the dullest football since introducing more coaches, have been found lacking on player recruitment since bringing in a sporting director and put out the shodiest highlights since employing a video analyst!3 points

Retirement is not an option Gringo! The editorial and moderator contracts on here were designed using an old Jim McLean contract template!!3 points

The winner for this season voted for by you is Billy Mckay. Billy started the season well winning for July and always puts in a great shift also winning in January and February. He had 41 appearances this season scoring 19 goals bringing his total to 100 for Inverness Caledonian Thistle, 1 short of the record held by Dennis Wyness. Congratulations to Billy a clear winner I hope he will sign another contract for next season and carry on scoring goals for us. Full Name: William Robert Mckay Born: October 22nd, 1988 (Corby) Height: 1.7m Position: Striker Signed: June 13th, 2021 First Manager: Billy Dodds Left Club: May 31st, 2023 Career Stats: 246 appearances, 100 goals Debut (as sub): August 27th, 2011 - Inverness CT 2 - 1 Kilmarnock (League - ) Full Debut: December 3rd, 2011 - St. Mirren 1 - 2 Inverness CT (League - ) First Goal: December 10th, 2011 - Inverness CT 2 - 3 Dundee Utd (League - ) Also Played For: Dundee Utd, Hinckley United, Leceister City, Oldham Athletic, Ross County, Wigan Athletic Player of the Year Winner with 73 points Billy Mckay Second with 48 points Scott Allardice Third with 47 points Nathan Shaw Fourth with 44 points Zak Delaney Fifth with 38 points Mark Ridgers Sixth with 30 points Robbie Deas Monthly Winners July Billy Mackay August Austin Samuels September Zak Delaney October Zak Delaney November Billy Mackay December David Carson January Billy Mackay February Billy Mackay March Jay Henderson April Nathan Shaw May/June Cameron Harper Thank you again for all your votes throughout the season3 points

Yeah I did some googling on Shaw and couldn’t find any reliable mention of contract term anywhere. I’d forgotten we got him from AFC Fylde - a good bit of recruitment, finding a bit of a gem way down the pyramid. We’ll need more like that this summer.2 points
-
With only two games in May and June I have combined the results. The poor game against Ayr where we didn't turn up and the Scottish Cup Final against Celtic where we turned up and gave a good account of ourselves and after scoring had them worried for about five minutes The winner for May/June is Cameron Harper Wallace Duffy and David Carson a close second and third. Thank you for all your votes and look forward to starting again next month.2 points

Aye ok then, we're a Premiership team. Just happen to be languishing in the Championship for a few years!1 point

Bet they are happy then as it mirrors their contempt for fans and is a green light to do whatever they want without question. Although reading on here seems you're not a minority.1 point

Do other clubs behave like this? Statement in reply to Shane Sutherland, advising of players who have been offered contracts but haven't signed up yet, stating Billy Mckay offered a new deal on reduced terms. All very bizarre and more negativity. Don't know Scot Gardiner, main opinion of him is from Wyness Shuffle podcasts where he comes across as a bit of an arrogant and huffy man who would not be very approachable. Being tipped towards not renewing my season ticket as don't like the way the club is run or how it communicates very poorly with us fans.1 point

Fans might be a bit more sympathetic to the club if it had done anything but erode trust between the two groups over the last few years.1 point

Scott Burns in the record. However, to correct what I've said it's reduced terms his been offered. So wages could be fine but contract length might be an issue.1 point

Always 2 sides to a story. Club denying Shane was told by email. He had face to face then received email confrming detail of meeting. "A Caley Thistle spokesman insisted that the process had been followed fully and properly, with Sutherland interviewed by sporting director John Robertson. what's the odds. Either way, it's getting a bit messy out there, however please reserve judgement until both parties have their say.1 point
-
Disappointed that Shane is not getting an extension but it is presumably because of his injury rather than his ability. A club that loses an underlying £0.8m a year needs to cut costs and I guess we just can’t keep paying for wages, rehabilitation costs and potentially further operations for players who aren’t playing. We did all that for a year for Sutherland and Walsh too, who I’d imagine will suffer a similar fate.1 point

Just saw on Instagram Duffy and Hyde have signed one year contract extension1 point

The clean sheet that I refer to means from henceforth onwards. He has to prove that he has learned from his mistakes - tactics, man management and post match communications. The problem for Dodds is that he has set the bar for the forthcoming season.1 point

One sugar daddy would be of enormous benefit for sure, but we mustn't forgot those other financial backers who have been servicing our ridiculous debt year on year. Let's hope they continue along with us.1 point

Slate is clean as far as I am, and everybody else should be concerned. Not to dwell too much but our season turned on an administrative error by Queens Park. The season now depends on resigning of contracts, loans and additions. Dodds needs to deliver from the off. I am not really bothered about the Viaplay which will be more of a testing and bonding exercise. But we need to come bolting out of the traps as far as the league is concerned1 point
-
Well we all know the answer to the first one We also know that success comes in cycles. Cowdenbeath were in our league quite recently and now they’re in tier 5. Rangers were winning titles and Celtic were nearly bust. Then there’s Falkirk We can definitely sustain a Premier team if we can get up but it will take a perfect storm as it did in 2004 and 2010. This includes how strong the league is, good fortune with injuries, getting a good crop of players together at the right time, Dundee sh*****g the bed, etc etc, plus a slice of luck. Unfortunately we took several steps backwards after winning the cup which with hindsight could have been avoided. I’ve ranted about that many a time. As much as anything we could do with a generous backer as @RiG says: to me, it seems there are a few big names in Inverness, but with egos to match, otherwise they could cooperate for the sake of the club. We’ve got Dodds in charge again so it is what it is. Dundee Utd won the Prem with a very small squad so maybe this is the season we actually don’t have an injury crisis, and Cammy, Nicolson, Roddy and other youngsters step up to the plate. Maybe Lewis Hyde does a Denzil and becomes a god. Having some of our own in the team is a big factor for me with positive knock on effects for the supporters. Apologies for the Bannerman-sized post but I’m still riding a wave of optimism from the weekend.1 point

First point - does he though? We've gone through two or three seasons now with no "proper" right back. Carson has filled in admirably but many would argue that we still lack a dedicated RB. Equally, our lack of striking options for a good chunk of this season arguably falls at Dodds' door as well. Offloading Oakley and not bringing someone in to help Mckay was a bizarre move. It left us very light at a crucial time in the season. Second point - we've spent just as long in the top tier as we have done in the second. The SPL/Premiership has, until recently, been our level. If teams like Livingston and Saint Johnstone can remain in the top flight there is nothing to suggest that we couldn't do that and we should be aspiring to that level. Of course, there are plenty of other teams who will think like that but I completely disagree with the notion that the Championship is our level. It might be for a while but historically it has not been. I do agree however that to stay in the top flight we would really need a generous backer. It's becoming clear that trying to maintain full time football in Scotland outwith the top flight is becoming notoriously difficult. The losses sustained by Falkirk and others show that. Even MacGregor at Ross County seems to be talking about winding in the spending but I suspect they will keep writing blank cheques to offset their losses. And yes I am aware that we also have been bleeding cash1 point

Oh dear - I do hope ICT get their act in gear and get many of our first team players this year signed up ASAP. Otherwise I can see many season ticket renewals being delayed due to uncertainty of the ICT team for forthcoming season. Get it sorted NOW1 point

I know it won't please everybody but we've got to be realistic. Dodds is happy to stay and he's no really that bad. Better the devil you know! Getting somebody new in is risky and probably costly. As mentioned before, Dodds knows the squad, knows what's needed to improve it and I think is a safe bet. There seems to be an expectancy among some supporters that we should be a Premiership team because we once were. We are in fact a Championship team - that is our level - and the occasional foray into the Premiership is not out of the question, although to stay in the top league we would really need a generous benefactor. Get behind Dodds and who knows what'll happen!1 point

Pleased to hear his contract has been extended. Needs a stronger support team tho.1 point

It’s up to the Management and recruitment team now to find the next Deas, or Warren or Meekings or whatever is required. I’m hopeful we can find another set of gems.1 point

Roy McGregor - he owns most of the Longman anyway and he buys up clapped out businesses and absorbs them into his group. ICT could become a feeder team for Coonty. We get financial stability, he gets our promising young players. it’s a Win - Win!!0 points

Couldn’t care less about the non footballing staff at the club if honest.0 points
