  1. Pretty sad end to the game, First half we played pretty well and missed some chances where players made the wrong choice ( Harper and Shaw ) had we taken them the outcome would have been very different. The second half was so flat as there didn't seem to be as much energy as the first half? Losing a soft goal from a deflection into the box where their player reacted a lot quicker than our defenders was a blow, Davidson i'm afraid was pretty poor and he looked more and more nervous as the game went on, Whether it's a lack of game time or that he's just shyte I don't know. We sure missed Carson, and if Welsh was available by some strange occurrence i'm sure we would have more control in midfield, And Gilmore ain't no Allardice. The Ref is another story, how the moron got fooled by the Arbroath players( Especially Gaston) is beyond belief, One high ball into the box second half saw him come out to try and win the ball, He realised he couldn't and just threw himself over, Ref was suckered and blew for a foul... feckin unbelieveable. A lot of unhappy fans at full time, Even with Harper sauntering over clapping his hands sarcastically the loss to Arbroath was a sore one.

  2. Ferguson's first job was to stabilise the team. He did that by finding a starting 11 and formation that was working and getting results. Dodds hadn't managed that. That has been disrupted due to some of that starting 11 being unavailable for various reasons, and not having sufficient quality on the bench. We'd already seen frailty with subs at the end if games. We might have hoped to have got to January without these challenges, but not to be. Unfortunately, I don't think the January window will bring the changes we'd like to see because we don't have money to be paying players off and bringing new ones in. The fact we're taking free agents on trial in December indicates the market we might be able to shop in. Ferguson has, to my knowledge, never talked about promotion play offs and has been fairly clear that he was tasked with survival. The best we can hope for is that some of these fringe players improve with the game time they're getting and we cobble together enough to be above the relegation spots at the end of the season. Given how things were looking a few weeks ago, I'd be content with that.

  3. I heard in the pub that if the league table was done based on peak height of the coaching team we would have moved from the foot of the table to the top.

  4. Just to keep @Moogthurso happy, I'd not be upset if we offloaded the CEO to free up money for players.

  5. This..... The defence has looked fragile all this season including when we've won. Devine for example doesn't suit this passing game. Referee was a pedant and Gaston took full advantage. At one point he got a free kick after being fouled by her own player!

  6. I think the attitude of 'we expect 6 points from the next two games' permeated the club after Hampden. They were made to look like easy games. Add in the fact that new trialists are being looked at and you can see uncertainty in forming a solid group. Shape wise yesterday was highlighted with potentially 5 main defenders until Nikola was withdrawn. Sending on three attacking subs at full time to salvage something in added time seemed optimistic. Gaston worked the referee to perfection adding to the overall headache. Partick Thistle away next Saturday should be fun.

  7. They’d need to allow vehicles to turn right from Stadium Road to go over the Kessock Bridge and someone would need to pay for a frequent service between the ground and the City Centre.

  8. I’ve a few beers inside me after being at (excellent) hospitality due to the kind generosity of my previous employers, so my views may be a bit inebriated. I thought we shaded the first half and didn’t deserve to be behind at the break. The tactical change at half time should have put us on the front foot but we were dismal in the second half and didn’t trouble Arbroath. They didn’t even need to resort to time wasting and play acting to run the clock down. Billy Mckay spoke after the game and told it as it was. We should have gone in 1-1 at the break but we didn’t kick on after half time. That’s 3 points out of 12 so our battle is at the bottom of the table now rather than the top, and every point is a prisoner.

  9. I think majority of fans would be elated if the club got rid of our ceo . Total waste of money and as unpopular as they come .

  10. Oops, that result was a tad disappointing. Had expected 6 points from the games this past week and hoped for more but I always thought the Morton game would be a tough ask. Previously I’d have been very despondent but don’t feel that way tonight. I see it as a blip in our new world with the hope and expectation that Big Dunc will eventually manage to clear out the dead wood and get the squad fine tuned in the way he wants. One thing for sure, yet again we’ve been shown there ain’t no easy games in this league. The margin between the play-offs at either end of the table is very fine indeed and there will be no room for complacency in the second half of the season.

  11. I kinda thought this might happen. Not been at the games but it did seem that improvement was marginal and I wouldnt be surprised if play off talk recedes significantly. We could easily end up a la Dodds. Duncan Ferguson came here to kickstart his ailing career.................he was a big name...........box office.........but he has to prove himself now in my book. I wish him every good luck.

  12. Beaten twice in a week by the two teams who were bottom at the start of the week. Very soft goals gifted yet again. The defence are leaking too many daft goals.Oh how we miss Carson at right back. That said we had nice toutches and had spells of good pressure.51/49 to us in first half.I'm afraid after our first 11 we are struggling.Knew we were finally doomed to a loss when I saw the subs. Included Sheridan and Harry. At least Dunc will know who to ship out January.Still feel confident with big Dunc at helm because if anyone can inspire this team it's him, even though he has to prove himself as a Manager. Two bad results don't mean we are doomed. We have January to get fresh blood in hopefully with a bit of talent.

  13. Not sure why we can't get a P&R in place permanantly on non matchdays? Reduces traffic in town from the A9 side anyway and stops the Highland Council whinging about emissions, and provides a source of income for us

  15. Crikey, even when I was driving down A9 past the stadium in the first half, a quick glance told me Arbroath were on top!

  16. There are no excuses for that one unfortunately. The writing is on the wall. The sound of dropping _Plop plop plop… should really have went in 1-1 at half time but poor defending cost us. But hey we had another half to rectify it; . Very disappointing and a concern that we did not look like getting back into it despite Arbroath being average . Surely there ought to have been subs made before a last ditch triple sub Direction of travel has veered off target …

  17. I'll give some credit to Arbroath here. They played pretty well and closed us down very well indeed. They kept a very disciplined narrow, high line and we simply lacked the inventiveness, skill and pace to deal with it. When we did get through or round them, it was noticeable how often a defender managed to block the cross. The resulting corners rarely provided the Arbroath defence any problems. There were a few good passing movements but we lacked the final cutting edge. As we have seen time and time again this season, there is a reluctance to have a shot at goal and a lack of conviction when we do. Gaston had very little to do, but when he did get the ball, he held on to it as long as he could. In the first half, Ujdur simply couldn't cope with Hylton, so replacing him and bringing Longstaff on made sense. I'm surprised though that Big Dunc waited so late before making other changes, but that was maybe because he didn't think anyone on the bench would do any better than those already on it. Hopefully we will pick up a gear when Welsh and MacGregor are back to fitness, but the sad fact is that at the moment, we are just not very good.

  18. An abysmal performance with one shot on target in 90 minutes. Why won't our players shoot when they get anywhere near tne opposition's goal. As for our defending - words fail me

  19. That was diabolical! Arbroath looked comfortable throughout. An easy win for them. We are in a relegation battle, no doubt about it. Outplayed, outfought, and outthought by a part-time team. Pathetic!

  21. It was noticeable today on the way out how folk were commenting how nothing has actually changed. Bit harsh maybe, but today there was a real lack of urgency throughout the team.
