He got the job off the back of his name and 'fame'. The type of football he seems to want us to play (thank God I missed the game yesterday) we don't have the players capable of executing. It's also utterly mind numbing to watch. We keep hearing to 'get behind the team' but FFS it's an uphill struggle as we've not won in 4 months and what we do see at home is utter dross.5 points

But he appears to be a big part of the reason why we are on a life support machine in the first place.4 points

Exactly! Attendance at football matches is a balance between loyalty to your team and the entertainment gained from the match. Having witnessed so many tedious, unentertaining draws and defeats at home this season (fortunately giving yesterday a miss!), it's hard to build myself up to face another home game, as the lack of entertainment has now overtaken the 'loyalty' factor for me. I'd love to "get behind the team" if it wasn't such a tedious chore. Sadly, as things stand, there's nothing worth seeing at Caledonian Stadium, and I can think of much better ways to spend my time and money! Hopefully I'll have recovered from my current negativity by the next home game though!4 points

If we get relegated with Large Duncan in charge I'd also say that could be the end of his managerial career.4 points

He seems to be giving every indication that he thinks it was mistake coming here. Whatever division we are in next season, I doubt big Dunc will be the manager.4 points

Based on profitability from our CEO and Chairman's previous ventures, we'll probably add a million to the debt.3 points

I was wishing the big man well when he arrived but it’s becoming apparently clear he hasn’t a clue what he’s doing? Let’s be honest the marquee manager signing was a smokescreen to take the heat of a very incompetent board to give them time to try and get the battery fiasco pipe dream through. I actually feel sorry for Duncan coming into this mess. Dougal3 points

A lovely day for a game of football but the storm clouds are gathering around the stadium. On the whole, I think the players put a lot of effort in and tried their best, but the sad fact is, that as a group, they just aren't good enough. Again we started brightly and with a bit more quality could have been 2 up in the first 15 minutes. Ayr were no great shakes, but once they settled into the game, we rarely found any space where it mattered. There are times when we pass the ball neatly in midfield and keep possession, but when we get into the final third and and are put under more pressure, we either lose the ball or pass it back. We create very little. It is clear that Fergusson has his preferred way of playing and he ain't going to change it. He wants us to play out from the back and through the park. It's brilliant to watch when Manchester City do it, but with all due respect to our lads, they don't have the vision or skill to do it. Time and time again we start to play out from the back and are just too slow to make progress, we allow the opposition to regroup and organise their defence and we can't find a way through. It's just boring.3 points

Good to see that the ICT Social Club is a place that ICT fans want to frequent once more and not just a surrogate for the Portland Club.2 points

This was the first home game I’ve missed (league, cups and the Elgin friendly) due to a family commitment. It sounds like we’ve reached another low point. I’ve seen reports of heavy handed stewarding in the North Stand if anyone criticised the Board or CEO. If true, that is shocking and a lower point than the result and our league position. Fans pay to attend are entitled to voice their opinions. Now, more than ever, the club and players need our support. Whoever (Gardiner?) instructed the stewards got it woefully wrong today and drove another nail in to the coffin that is surely being made for the club we know and love. A sad day.2 points

Since we have no wingers in that Shaw and Longstaff are out, maybe it's time [if he's actually fit] to give Austin Samuels a run out wide, a couple of seasons back, he and McKay had a purple patch, where they looked dangerous together. This time run Billy probably needs to sit deeper so that Alex Samuel can lead the line. I'm hoping Boyes is fully fit too as he strikes me as someone who could play out from the back. We do seem to suffer from a lot of injuries, what happened to McAllister, he scored two game ago, then is out injured. MacGregor suffering another set back. I still think we should recall Keith Bray from loan if we can. I am flying up for the Dundee United match next week, which could be interesting given their shock [?] defeat to Dunfermline. It's an away match which might be in our favour2 points

Forget Dundee United and Partick away - we need to watch every possible video showing Arbroath, someone should take in their next two games, because we have to stay above them. We desperately need as many defenders fit as possible to try and spend the whole game against them trying not to lose. There is no point having attackers in our team. It seems forbidden.2 points

Well that was my first home game of the season and probably my last. Having said that we could have been three up after 15 minutes !! No leaders and it looked like many having a pop at each other - no width whatsoever - no real sense of urgency - no apparent training field preparations or ploys. Worst for me was that we were bullied by Ayr not outplayed. Afraid that Dunc is employing an English League 1/2 mentality. Absolutely obvious that we are a patched up side with no sense of understanding how our peers play. Final summary is that I witnessed more dog sit today than I did walking along the Battery Site !!2 points

Taxi for Ferguson still sounds about right. Make it a people carrier so Gardiner and Morrison can join him.2 points

Nope. We will win all remaining games, get into the play offs and leapfrog County into the Premiership. Next season we will win the Scottish Cup and finish 3rd in the Premiership. All good.1 point

Probably Clach if I wanted a football fix, more than likely I'd just do something else entirely.1 point

I think he won only one game in 18 there before departing. His record here has been better, but not much. It’s definitely his team now with the amount of loanees he has brought in. Our situation is definitely on him and GB.1 point

That had to be the most torturous 90 minutes ever yesterday. Thank f*** Ayr where more concerned on going down and time wasting or it could have 4 or 5. After being gifted a way back into the match we still couldn't kick on and the lack of desire or effort to win the game is scandalous. Where is Ferguson's much celebrated will to win, I see no evidence.1 point

There is no cost for the appeal and if the case is as robust as the club claim, then they won't need much, if any, additional professional input. Instigating legal action against the council is a whole different matter.1 point

From what I’m heard in the pub last night the next Apprentice Boys of Derry march in Sneck could well be starting from the Dump’s car park. Anyway how was your night in the Drummossie you rough this morning ? Dougal1 point

Shocking home stat. Just not good enough. If we drop to L1, which at this point in time seems very likely, the jobbers will be away and also big Dunc. The later isn't anywhere near proving me wrong that he is not the manager to take us forward.1 point

Probably because he was there as a double act with the other ICT legend, Richard Gough.1 point

Staunch Gardiner. Surprised he didn't give them an honour guard and a parade at half time with a flute band.1 point

Both Terry Butcher & Richard Gough were guests today. They are both doing a Rangers related gig run by SG at the Drimossie Hotel tonight.1 point

Someone corrupting and it’s nothing to do with SG ? Having this guy at the club until any appeal would be heard is disaster itself . The club and fans cannot continue association with this guy any longer than is necessary . Waiting a year or even months with this clown running things down will just finish the club totally . Things are as low as they need to be and we all need a lift . Getting rid should be the start of the way forward . Should never have been employed in the first place .1 point

Our last home win was November 11th last year, against Ayr Utd. That is a terrible statistic. Are we a team…… or bunch of individuals? A recent post on this site stated we only have 7 or 8 players under contract for next season. Will Ferguson get this bunch of predominantly loanees to scrape survival in the Championship???? Will he stay if we drop to L1 ?????1 point

Butcher had also been at Rangers the other night. Somehow I don’t think his tour of former clubs will include an invite from Hibs.1 point

Terry Butcher was a guest of the club today. Did I miss something or was he not invited out and introduced to the fans? I was rather looking forward to giving him a good round of applause as a "thank you" for some of the best and most exciting football we've seen in the 30 year history of the club.1 point

Sat through every home game so far this season, and my god it’s been a miserable experience. Under Dodds we were awful, but I have to say since Ferguson took over it has been worse. No idea what the on field plan is (if one exists), but there is no fight, no pace, no urgency and no clue. It’s not as if the opposition is anything special, but they don’t need to be. We look nailed on for the relegation play off place, and there is precious little to give confidence that we could survive that.1 point

Why can nobody in this team run? Everything is done at walking pace! At no point in the game did we look like scoring. I even thought we'd miss the penalty - which certainly didn't look like a penalty from where I was! We're going backwards!1 point

The original planning meeting delayed a decision as one councillor asked if they could have a site visit. A site visit was arranged, but there was no mention of it being compulsory However, at the next planning meeting only those who attended were allowed to vote and a there were a couple of other exclusions for anyone who was deemed to have a conflict of interest (e.g. the vice provost was excluded as she sits on the ICTWFC committee). This left only 5 people eligible to vote. Ahead of the full council meeting, drone footage had been taken of the area and distributed to councillors, which was deemed a sufficient substitute for a site visit. Of the 74(?) members of full council, only those with valid and up to date planning training were allowed to vote. I don't believe there were any other exclusions, so that left 53 to cast votes.1 point

I got stick on here when backing the suggestion of Imrie for the job! Anyway, let’s not get distracted and give Big Dunc and the players our total support as they look to get us up the table.1 point
-
Oh for goodness sake. Not so long ago Morton were awful and Dougie Imrie has turned it around. Give Duncan a chance. He’s only just brought 8n his own players. Well done Aaron Doran today. Maybe he should get more game time, after all its goals we need.1 point
-
In my opinion, this thread is very premature. I understand the reasons for it but it is clear he will be given time by the club. We must survive this season, and then we can really judge him on how we do next season.1 point

Would be handy if he focused on keeping the club away from deaths door as opposed to catering the Blue Poond freakazoids who never turn up unless Rainjurz are in town0 points

He does have previous, recently getting stewards to move in to stop an individual speaking (in a friendly way) to players, so it's not that big a stretch for him to have a word with the match commander (or whatever we have).0 points

OK. I don't go to matches anymore as I've had enough of the CEO, the club not caring about fans, Ferguson's awful tactics and subsequent garbage performances etc etc. Don't expect any of that will change anytime soon, so mapping out other interests on Saturday afternoon's etc will likely become the norm for me. Happy 30th birthday ICT, not!!0 points

Are you suggesting that SG has control over the decisions made by the police? Or that the police lift people because of the opinions they express regarding the competence of football club officials?0 points

Fan got lifted for yelling to Scot Gardiner about how it is. Will definately try to claim its cos he was pished, but when its one of the regulars who doesn't tend to put a toe out of line against stewards, and the fact the chants about Gardiner from that section stopped after he got hoofed and the other stewards had a go at the rest of them, its not hard to put 2 and 2 together.0 points

This club is so unbelievably finished. And its all thanks to that muppet upstairs. Getting the police to silence the critics isnt a good look either...0 points

Don't think it even got off the ground. He's got a job for life at Everton as he is a legend there. In this part of the world he'll be remembered as our worst manager in 30 years.-1 points

Administration pending, unless... How can we go from SupercaleygoballisticCelticareatrocious in the year 2000, to Scottish Cup Winners in 2015, playing in Europe and just 9 years after lifting the Cup; Administration. Mismanagement and our demise was hastened by the appointment of Scot Gardiner. Ever since then, ludicrous decision making has seen our stock plummet whilst 'shady' dealings were investigated. The failed Concert Company, the Battery Storage, the Statkraft contract have all ended badly leaving the club facing insolvency.
That's another fine mess you've got us into.-

New Chairman Wanted, Apply Within
tm4tj posted an article in News 2023-24,
Chairman Ross Morrison resigns
Nothing official from the club as we speak, but the Inverness Courier are running with a story that Ross Morrison has resigned at 18:00 tonight 3rd June. More to come as this story develops, but most fans are looking for more heads to roll.
Speaking exclusively to The Inverness Courier, Mr Morrison said he is leaving now because of the aftermath of the Fife move. “I believe it [the move to Fife] is the best way forward and I have to stick with my beliefs,” Mr Morrison said. “This is the reason I'm stepping down now.”
Reflecting on his time with the Caley Thistle, Mr Morrison said: “My six-year tenure with the club has had some great and some not so great times but through everything I was immensely proud to be the chairman of the club and clubs I’ve supported for 50 years - I was a Jaggie by the way.
“I would ask the fans to rally round the club at this time and show their support by not only purchasing their season tickets but also getting involved directly with the club to see how they can help.
“Hearing fans saying they would prefer administration to training the first team in Kelty sent a shiver down my spine. Administration is a desperate thing to happen to a club and must, at all cost, not happen to ICTFC.”-
