  1. Josh Magennis has signed for St Mirren on Loan. I feel like we're missing a trick here.

  3. I grew up reading Enid Blyton books, so I'm delighted that we are housed in the stand that Hibs rather surprisingly named after her most celebrated series, the Famous Five. Who'd have thought that Leith folk would have been moved to pay such a tribute by those boarding school kids and their summer holiday adventures. Hopefully we'll have plenty of jolly japes, ending of course with lashings of ginger ale.

  4. Form is irrelevant - it's who turns up and harnesses their nerves best on the day that will win.....

  5. What Mr Carney seems to be saying is that the Romans have been rather busier than the People's Front of Caledonia would have us believe. Nope...what he's saying is that the Romans have been busier than the Romans would have us believe! Mr Carney wouldn't be up here saying anything at all if he hadn't been allowed to say it. Have to admit, though, that I almost prefer Project Fear if the alternative is Project Love Bomb.....if Barrowman was the first effort........it is going to be boak-making! Was really impressed at the way Mr Carney didn't allow the TV folk and journalists to put words in his mouth, as well! Bet they went away spitting nails to make up headlines!

  7. “Caley Jags Together are pleased to announce that we will be running a total of ten coaches to the League Cup semi-final, carrying nearly 500 Inverness Caledonian Thistle fans to Edinburgh despite all the difficulties that we have faced. We take our hats off to each and every one of you who have chosen to travel with us. Our thanks are due to The Scottish Sun, the SPFL and to Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC for their support, but it’s nothing compared to the support that we get week in and week out from our fans. It’s been a herculean challenge, but we are nearly there and special thanks are due to the CJT board for their massive effort in this. Buses will be leaving at 07:00 from Tulloch Caledonian Stadium (6 coaches) The Caledonian Thistle Social Club (1 coach) and Inshes (Matalan car park) the lists of who is on what bus will be published here, on the CJT and Caledonian Thistle websites and by e-mail on Thursday evening. Please arrive in good time at your departure point on Sunday. All buses will proceed directly to Edinburgh, and there are a choice of pubs etc. to catch a pre-match pint, your coach CJT person will have details – we’re heading for The Iona, The Four in Hand and the Ex-Servicemen’s Club. We’re leaving it up to each coach to decide if and where they want to stop, because the toilets at Broxden are unlikely to cope with all of us at once! On the way back, we leave from Leith links. If you have any queries, call us on the travel number as soon as possible. There are still a few seats left in various coaches, but they are going quickly so book now if you haven’t already. Please note that if you have booked and don’t travel, you will still be charged. Each coach will have an exclusive Inverness Caledonian Thistle football signed by the first team squad to be raffled (and won) on the day, there will be complimentary newspapers and the usual first to score on each bus. It should be a cracking day out. I’m afraid we can’t allow alcohol on the coaches, and there is a possibility of spot checking at such a high profile game. All coaches will (at least in the event of a win) give you the option of going to the Caley Club after the game to celebrate. Let’s be loud, proud and a credit to our club on Sunday – and make some noise for the Caley Thistle boys.”

  12. Sneckboy - I did not say we bottled all of our semi final appearances. I said we bottled it in several big games under our previous manager. This is all I meant by that. It was no reference to our 2 Scottish Cup semi's. To be more clear I'm talking about the last semi final, the relegation game v Falkirk and all of the games post split where we could have secured European football. I'm basically having a sly pop at our the big fibber that used to manage us! (shhhh!)

  13. He'd score an own goal, no doubt! This was the guy that wore shirt number 51 at dundee united as a reference to the hearts/hibs (5-1) cup final. Which had nothing whatsoever to do with united.

  15. I'm nervous, purely upon the prospect of missing out, yet again. Either team or any player can have a great day just as easy as a terrible one. Look at Danny Williams for example.. way the game flows could easily allow him to replicate what he did against Aberdeen that came out of the blue. Brill could have a Partick moment all over again, you never know. Just hoping it's a far better feeling day this time around come FT. 'Mon the Caley!

  16. I think the January speculation may have got to Billy a bit and his downturn in form is no coincidence. Hopefully, once the window closes tomorrow, he can get back to goal scoring business with Sunday no better time to start.

  17. But would he roll up his sleeves and give it a right good go, as you have to remember we got a right good bunch o' boys back there? We don't want no daft laddies.

  19. Hearts recent form does make it a bit more of a nervous occasion on Sunday, but it would also make it all the more deserving should we progress to the final. One thought that has been on my mind is the players currently one booking away from missing the final. We have quite a few at risk as shown below. Was it not the case that if we had gone through last year v. Hearts, we would've been missing 3 or 4 of our first 11 due to suspension in the final? Billy Mckay I remember would've been one. The Hearts list is a bit more confusing, as they have played an extra round of cup fixtures due to entering at an earlier round... which I've been told means Danny Wilson is ok to play on Sunday as he needed to pick up 3 bookings to be suspended, rather than 2. Will this have an impact on the 'fight' that Hearts have been showing? Will they change a winning team? Hopefully we get a few goals up then avoid making any silly tackles for the remainder of the game to keep a full choice team for the final HEART OF MIDLOTHIAN F.C. 20. If people think that Hearts deliberately changed the date to before the semi final to get Stevenson to be eligible they are wrong. It has worked out for them in that respect but the real reason that it has been rearranged is they need the money with things going dry in march if they don't get out of admin quickly. Yes Stevenson will now be ready for the semi final but they will not be able to make many changes to keep there squad fresh. We have beaten hearts twice and been pretty dominant in both games with Stevenson in the side both times so he wont make a massive difference. We shouldn't underestimate them but we should be to strong for them if we play at our best.

    • Kelty Hearts Training Statement
What a farce we have become, a laughing stock: Did you hear the one about the footbal team from the Highlands of Scotland that want to train at Cowdenbeath? Unfortunately, unlike our board, this is not a joke. Our board are trying to rip our identity from the Highlands and replace it with shared training at Kelty Hearts. I kid you not, this is not a drill and the clowns that run our club appear to be delighted at this coup.

    • Relegation Statement
RELEGATION STATEMENT: This could have been said ten minutes after our defeat to Hamilton three days ago. So far, this is not the news that we on Caley Thistle Online wanted to hear. Pleased that we will still function as a club, disappointed that resignations have not been offered yet. Keeping fans waiting in silence for three days is unforgivable and relationships are drifting further apart than ever before. Silence is not the way forward, we deserve better as fans.

    • Inverness CT 2-3 (3-5) Hamilton - Play off final (relegation)
RELEGATED: Despite Inverness needing to get off the mark quickly, it was Accies that killed the tie inside the first fifteen minutes with strikes from Kevin O'Hara and Lewis Smith. Cammy Kerr reduced the leeway with a good strike from distance, but O'Hara struck again with a penalty before the break to diffuse the revival. We struggled to create anything of note and this reporter could not stomach any more and left the stadium. I'm told Alex Samuel pulled a goal back in stoppage time, but like the rest of the season it was too little too late.

    • Hamilton 2-1 Inverness CT - Play off final 1st Leg
A better showing from Inverness in the second half, especially with Lawal and Pepple on the park but it's Hamilton that take a one goal advantage up the A9 on Saturday. Lawal has been the standout performer in our last few games and surely he must start on Saturday. Pepple also did well, scored the goal, had an effort saved and got in a few balls across the box from tight positions.

Still, a shocker of a first half and we must be up for it from the start on Saturday.
