Astra looked average because we made them look that way by building possession and letting them do the chasing.  If we had gone more direct we would have been opened up with the pace they had upfront

  • Now 2-2 away to West Ham.  Perhaps puts our performance in perspective.

  • Kind of Blue

Perhaps this result puts our defeat into perspective.  They are not a bad side and we performed fairly well over both games.

'kinell Doran!!!!!

FINALLY!!!

Foran comes on, lets hope he changes the game

Foran on, Williams on,   Need a goal Richie!!!   please

Surprised to see Wedderburn hooked, he's been one of our better players tonight. Hopefully we're going route one to Foran and big Drapes.

Those officials are feckin shocking tonight. That was a stonewaller on ryan any day of the week

Passing is shyte, giving it away too easy fecks sake.

Ref is a feckin clown

And thus the dream ended..     did ok, conditions were incredible, hope they recover for sundays game.

Well done guys.

***** officials

no finisher we are in serious trouble

what can I say couldn't finish our chances but Astra weren't special as we thought

Feel like we blew that one. We were the better team over the two legs, but its a bit worrying as we seem completely toothless up front. And to often the final ball was poor. Oh well...

Disappointing.

Where, oh where will the goals come from this season?

Nowhere we haven't signed someone who can score

Very proud of the ICT fans who made the journey to support the team, less impressed with the lack of cutting edge and late changes. Bring on the League!!!!

We look pretty good defensively but echoing what has been said my god do we need a decent striker!  Not convinced by Lopez but I would love to be proven wrong.

decent play but felt a bit like Hughes when he first took over lots of passing but no pace and creativity for goals. We had enough chances to go through over the two matches but at this level as astra showed you only need one and they took it. I expect more players will come before the league campaign but we haven't been humiliated by a team who made the group stages last season but its a missed opportunity as we where the best side in both legs but that lack of cutting edge has cost us. Maybe roberts would have made a difference but we lacked any pace down the flanks and failed to put any balls into the box. We go forward and hopefully we add a few more and have another great season and maybe in 12 months we will get another crack.

Apart from Christie with that beautiful shot we really had no chance of scoring. Unfortunately we conceded from yet another free kick. And that was all that was in the game. If not it would have definitely gone to penalties. Lopez just has no chance of scoring anytime soon unfortunately and i would have still put Roberts on for the first leg.

Also diet County really do play dirty don't they? The usual theatrics from their players just to wind down the clock. I only hope they don't get West Ham to soften the blow for losing.

That was agony but what better incentive to qualify for Europe next season and progress a round or two.

However, before the next European dream has the possibility of becoming reality we really must find an experienced forward.

Thought the Astra manager was an absolute clown too, with his designer jeans and massive plastic orange watch. He had the fecking nerve to insult our players throughout making diving gestures towards them every time a foul was awarded. Oh the irony. He even makes Derek Adams look classy.

Sounds like we were too cagey again.  To win the match without it going to the penalty lottery we would have had to score twice.  It would have made no difference if Astra had scored a goal on the night because 2-2 would have taken us through on away goals.

Never mind.  On the positive side we remain unbeaten on our travels in Europe and have yet to concede a goal.

No LB and no strikers are probs we knew we would have since Jan and no solutions found. This could be a disappointing season ahead.
