Caramel Wafer Cup Semi Final

Raith Rovers have won 2-1 away at Partick Thistle so will be our opponents if we win on Sunday.

Must admit I’m glad Partick are out given our record against them this season.

Another trip to Mcdairmid Park for the final then.

Tannadice or dens may be used

Most likely in Perth. With Scotland playing around that time there is no Premiership matches. Dundee are at home on the day of the final so doubt they’d have it there.

Given the weather forecast this weekend with constant rain and high winds around match time, this fixture must surely be in doubt? Think Raith would be a good game if we can get past this tie

For the sake of the competition and our players careers i hope we win this.

Its so important young players playing competitive football in championship progress better than kids held in reserve at a big club for the first 5 years of their career.

Sure we won't be playing in Dungwall? Keeping in tradition of the organizers screwing over the team from stupidly far away...

We actually have to beat the Sevco Colts first - and they may be fielding promising youngsters such as Defoe and we have to ensure that he spends a long time in an uninhabited career after this game.

I could understand/agree with that sentiment if they were playing Alloa or Raith, but us...? We're not exactly known for flooding our team with youth.

...and then there is our unofficial Colts team to the south west...

I agree with IHE - let's not get complacent about the Sevco C**ts game. They've made it to the semi on merit too!

They beat a very good Solihull Moors side (albeit on pens) after coming from 2 goals down...away from home. I really hope the guys approach this with eyes wide open and go for it. Don't think I could stand it if we lost to 'them' regardless as to what team they decide put out against us.

I agree entirely.

What are the rules for Colts teams?  Can they field a limited number of over 21s? As their league game is off today, could that mean we face a tougher team tomorrow?

No inspection planned according to the club’s Twitter feed.

Doran and Toshney trained yesterday so may be available. I didn’t know Toshney had been injured.

Heard the Rangers - Livingston game may be rescheduled for tomorrow.

Wasn't expecting we'd have a large attendance tomorrow as is, but this could potentially knock a good few of the travelling support off the total.  Just another reason why the colts things is a daft idea.

Potentially two over 21s? Not quite sure on the rules.

And it's confirmed. Considerably less gate income now...

Lot of surface water on the roads around the stadium.  Also just seen that the A9 is shut in two places due to flooding.  Will need to take my waterwings for the game tomorrow.

I wonder if we will start with any of Harper, MacGregor and Machado or whether we will have our first choice 11 to maximise our chances of getting to the final.

How far are we prepared to risk our first choice 11 for the chocolate cup, with league and Scottish cup fixtures coming up next.

Management needs to rotate the squad cleverly, with some of the benchwarmers getting game time.

I agree.

As a starter, what about:

Mackay

Rooney Toshney McHattie Harper

Welsh Carson

Walsh MacGregor Machado

Todorov

Can’t see it happening but it would give a lot of players a break before the next few critical weeks, whilst helping Welsh and Walsh back to full fitness.

Any word of a pitch inspection?

Cheers

They also told us we wouldn't sell any players in the last week of the window.
